| Chapter 19 In the morning, Lynnea woke feeling completely ready for the day. She knew exactly what she was going to do about Urs. If he wanted to play mean, well so could she. She got dressed and glanced at the clock. ‘8:30, Urs is at the gym,’ Lynnea stopped, realizing what she had just thought-she still knew his schedule by heart. She picked up the phone and dialed Urs’ room knowing he wouldn’t be there. Courtney, his model girlfriend answered. “Good morning, Courtney! It’s Lynnea. Would you like to join me for breakfast downstairs?” “I’d love to!” “Great, then I’ll meet you in five minutes.” Lynnea hung the phone on its hook. She felt a little bad about involving Courtney, who seemed like such a sweet girl, but she had to get some sort of revenge. Lynnea and Courtney met in the small restaurant in the hotel and got talking. “Are you excited for the wedding Miss Snyder?” Courtney asked. “Yes, very, and you can call me Lynnea.” “Well, I got to talk to David last night and he adores Jessica so much; that’s so sweet to see.” “Yes, it really is,” Lynnea agreed. “Do you know David very well?” “No, I’ve only met the others once before, you must know David well, did you know any of the others?” “Yes, I got to know them pretty well, especially…your boyfriend.” “Urs? Isn’t he the best?” “He’s…something,” Lynnea laughed. “We’ve only been together a month, but I’m crazy about him,” this time Courtney laughed and went on. “I hope I make him happy too, at least happier than his ex-fiancé.” Lynnea almost choked on her eggs. “Ex-fiancé?” “Yeah, he doesn’t talk about her much, but he’s never happy when he does.” “Interesting…”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Lynnea was in her room preparing for a dinner with David and Jessica when there was a knock at her door. She fully expected it to be Jessica getting her to leave. But Urs was at the door, not Jessica. Lynnea’s mind went into hyper drive and her heart sped up, but she took a deep breath and smiled. “Hi, Urs.” “What are you trying to do?” he growled. “Whatever do you mean?” Lynnea asked with sugary fake innocence. She pushed the door open and beckoned him in. “You know exactly what I’m talking about.” “Oh, you mean taking your girlfriend that you so kindly introduced to me, to breakfast?” “Exactly.” “I just thought I’d find out how much she really knows about you,” Lynnea chuckled. “You didn’t tell her much.” Urs grabbed her arm as she turned and her smile faded instantly. His face was inches from her face when he hissed, “Stay away from her Lynnea.” He stood there, holding her arm, glaring at her. His fingers burned on her arm, her eyes smoldered back into his. Jessica wandered in through the still open door. “Are you ready to go Lynnea? Oh! I didn’t realize you were busy,” she exclaimed seeing Urs and Lynnea so close. “I was just leaving,” Urs said dropping Lynnea’s arm and exiting the room. Lynnea grabbed her purse and left with Jessica. In the elevator Jessica demanded the full story. Lynnea told her about her first encounter with Urs, her breakfast with Courtney, and the last confrontation. “What are you going to do, Lynnea?” “I don’t know.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* The very last night before the wedding, after the preparations were all finished the bridal party and their significant others went to a dance hall in a small country village. The group of 12 sat at a round table just chatting. Theodore and Lynnea were seated directly across from Urs and Courtney. Lynnea was seated next to Amy and Sebastien and trying her hardest not to look at Urs across the table. She knew he was glaring at her, she could feel his eyes on her neck. Theo obviously noticed as well because he kept a very close eye on both Lynnea and Urs. At one point during the meal, Theo noticed that Lynnea was very uncomfortable with Urs’ in the same conversation as her and he squeezed her hand reassuringly. They kept their hands together on the table. Most at the table took no notice of this action, but Urs did. His first thought was that Lynnea must be mocking him; he pushed the jealous feeling in his stomach out of his mind. He wouldn’t let Lynnea make him look like a fool, so he went one step father and slipped his arm around Courtney’s waist. Lynnea, totally unaware of Urs’ concerns, leaned into Theo and whispered with him. He answered her and she laughed while he put his arm around her shoulder. Urs saw this and instantly retaliated by moving as close to Courtney as possible and whispering things in her ear that made her giggle uncontrollably. Lynnea could bear it no longer; she had to glare directly at Urs. Their eyes caught, and understanding, like ice cubes, hit them both. Lynnea made the next move; she placed her free hand on Theo’s thigh, running it up and down. Theo’s obvious physical response made Urs’ blood boil. Lynnea saw the anger on Urs’ face and failed to suppress her smirk of satisfaction. Theo helped Lynnea in this game without realizing it by pecking her on the cheek and placing his hand on her neck. Urs had one idea left and he used it. He leaned to Courtney and placed his lips on her neck and slowly working his way up to nibble on her ear. He didn’t bother looking at Lynnea’s reaction; he knew exactly what she was thinking. On instinct Lynnea’s hand flew to her face in remembrance of those lips on her own face. Urs had won this battle but she knew the next one would be hers. She grabbed Theo’s hand as she rose from the table. “Theo, let’s dance,” she said. “I thought you didn’t dance,” he whispered. “I changed my mind.” Theo and Lynnea twirled to an old Ricky Martin song and some couples from the wedding party joined in. Urs and Courtney danced too, always in sight of Theo and Lynnea. Courtney was a chic model, but she was clumsy dancer. She couldn’t match Urs’ skill. Theodore and Lynnea glided across the floor, catching the attention of many of the quests in the restaurant. When the song ended many people applauded the couple; Lynnea placed a small peck on Theo’s lips and shot a look at the fuming Urs. Urs shoved Courtney away as she tried to embrace him and he walked over to Lynnea. “That was quite the performance Lynnea, but a little show-offy, don’t you think?” he hissed behind her. She turned with a coy smile, “You know, Urs, it’s not my fault that you’re pretty little date can’t dance.” “Well I’m so glad “Teddy” here is light on his toes.” “It’s Theodore,” Theo piped in from behind Lynnea. “Urs, let’s just go sit down,” Courtney said placing her hands on his shoulders. “Courtney, I said leave me alone!” Urs said starting to yell, and throwing her hands from himself. “Urs,” Lynnea said losing her temper as well. “Leave the poor girl alone. You lie to her enough; you don’t need to abuse her too!” “What are you talking about?” Urs shouted. “Just tell her the truth,” “What truth?” Courtney asked, thoroughly confused. “Tell her why you brought her here! That I was the evil fiancé, right Urs? I’m the girl you’re trying to make jealous.” Urs had nothing to say. “Courtney. I’m sorry to tell you like this, but you needed to know.” Lynnea said returning to Theo. Courtney stood on the dance floor, almost in shock. “Urs, is this true? You were going to marry Lynnea and you brought me here to make her jealous?” Urs moved to Courtney. “Courtney I-“ “NO!” now it was Courtney’s turn to push him away. She walked out of the restaurant after Theo and Lynnea who had snuck out quietly. Urs sat down at the table and finished off his drink and ordered another. He was alone again.

| Chapter 20 Theo hailed a cab for himself, Lynnea, and Courtney. Courtney was still crying as they got back to the hotel. Lynnea invited Courtney to stay in her room rather than with Urs where she had been. They changed into some comfy clothes and prepared the sitting room of Jessica’s room for the small bachelorette party they had planned. “Lynnea, I’m so sorry if I did anything to upset you,” Courtney apologized yet again. “It wasn’t you; I promise,” Lynnea answered. “Well believe me, after this wedding, I don’t want to see Urs ever again,” Courtney said sitting on the couch. “Don’t you agree?” Lynnea didn’t answer right away. “Lynnea, can I ask you a personal question?” Courtney went on to fill the awkward silence. “Sure.” “Do you still love him?” Lynnea looked Courtney right in the eye and decided to be completely honest. “Yeah.” “Even after all of this, everything that he did to you?” “Yes, I do.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Urs left David’s room very early; he wasn’t in the mood to party. But now lying in bed, he couldn’t fall asleep. He flipped from side to side, over and over. When he finally fell asleep at four in the morning, he tossed in his sleep. Urs’ Dream Urs suddenly found himself on a stage. He glanced around and saw David, Carlos, and Seb standing with him. The stage wasn’t in some huge concert hall, but a small outdoor patio café. ‘Why is this so familiar?’ he wondered. The answer came to him when a young couple came out to the dance area in from of the stage. It was Lynnea and…”no, not possible,” he thought, but his eyes didn’t lie, Urs saw himself. He realized where he was. He was at the very café where he’d met Lynnea and they’d shared their first dance. Urs tried to ask Sebastien if he saw what was going on but Seb couldn’t see him. He waved his arms in front of his face, but Seb just stared ahead. No one realized her existed. “David!” he yelled, but David wouldn’t acknowledge him. Urs heard music start behind him and Sebastien started to sing “En Aranjuez Con Tu Amor.” Urs looked out to the dance floor. He and Lynnea were dancing. Aranjuez Unlugar de ensuenos y de amor Donde u rumor de Fuentes de cristal En el jardin parece hablar En voy baja a las rosas
Urs was thoroughly confused, but he sang his part.
Aranjuez Today the dry leaves without color Which are swept by the wind Are just a memory of the romance That we once shared You and I And that we’ve forgotten Without a reason Maybe this love is hidden in a sunset In the breeze or in a flower Waiting for your return
The instrumental part of the song started and Urs gazed out at Lynnea again. It struck him how beautiful and happy she looked, dancing in the starlight. Urs saw himself dancing but the look on this alternate Urs’ face wasn’t one of happiness. As the song slowed for a moment, the dancing Urs twirled Lynnea in, dipped her low and tried to place a kiss on her lips, but Lynnea pushed him away and walked away from him. Urs didn’t even make an effort to follow her. Urs on stage heard himself urging his clone to follow her, to get her back, but the grumpy man just sat and pouted. Il Divo, on stage, started to sing again. Lynnea entered the dance floor again, this time with Theodore. They spun and laughed and Urs felt the knot of jealousy and the rage that he wasn’t chasing after Lynnea. The song slowed for its ending. En aranjuez, amor Tu u yo
Theodore wrapped his arms around Lynnea’s waist and their lips met as the last notes faded. Urs on stage was yelling at the Urs on the floor to stand up, to run to her, to do anything. Urs sat straight up in bed. Breathing heavily and realizing where he was. He glanced at the flashing green lights of his alarm clock; it read 5:30. Urs wiped his brow as he swung his legs over the edge of the bed. He was covered in sweat. Urs walked to the window, and looked out into the night. ‘That was the strangest dream…’ he thought. “No…it was more than a dream.” He scared himself when he spoke out loud. “I let Lynnea go once; it can’t happen again.”

| Chapter 21 Lynnea woke bright and early the next morning to make sure that the day started wonderfully. She called the flower service, the limo service, the caterers, and the photographer to double check that everything was going well. At about nine o’ clock Lynnea woke Jessica with a plate of fresh fruit and toast, which Jessica hardly touched. “Jess, you need to eat something. I will not catch you if you faint during your wedding!” Lynnea joked. “Lynnea, I can’t I’m too excited!” “I’m going to make sure David took care of his tux, I’ll be right back.” “Oh! I’ll come too!” “No you won’t!” Lynnea said stopping her. “You may not see the groom until you are walking up that aisle, so sit down!” “But…” Jessica whined, but Lynnea was already out the door. Lynnea hurried down the hallway and down to David’s room. The tall man opened the door and Lynnea jumped inside. “Good morning! Your tux is waiting in your limo. Here are your plane tickets; don’t worry, Jessica has no idea where you’re taking her. And here are the rings…” “Give those to Urs; I’ll lose them,” he said pushing away her hand holding the rings. “Can’t you give them to him?” Lynnea asked, not wanting to see Urs more than she absolutely had to today. “No. I’m losing everything today. I can’t find my razor or my left shoe and where did those honeymoon tickets go?” “David calm down,” Lynnea said putting the rings back in her purse and realizing David’s nerves were mounting fast. “The tickets are in your hand; let me help you get ready.” Lynnea found David’s shoe under the bed, found the razor, and packed his bag, placing the tickets in the front pocket. She also set out his clothing for him while he ran around the room, trying to be helpful but being more of a hindrance. Lynnea left David to get dressed and get himself to the wedding. Lynnea walked slowly back down the hallway and passed Urs’ door the first time by, because she did not want to see him. But she turned back because she had to give the rings to Urs; she couldn’t let her pride hurt Jessica’s wedding day. She knocked on the door. The door opened momentarily and Urs didn’t say a word. “Good morning. Here are the wedding bands; David would like you to hold them because he’s afraid he’ll lose them.” Lynnea explained quickly. She handed him the rings and escaped from him as fast as she could. He watched her walk away, admiring the way her hair bounced. The memories of how he had fallen in love with came flooding back as he felt himself falling in love with her again. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Where David was incredibly nervous, Jessica was excited. Lynnea was having trouble keeping them both on track. Lynnea and Jessica arrived at the wedding location at noon; the wedding started at four. Jessica had her hair, makeup and nails done while Lynnea made sure the chamber orchestra had arrived and that David had someone who could tie his tie for him (he was shaking too hard.) Lynnea managed to find time to slip into her dress and shoes. The bride’s maid’s dresses were tea length pale pink and strapless with a thin band of white around the waist and at the top. All three of the bride’s maid’s had their hair curled and piled high. Dazzling pearls were scattered in their hair and hung around their necks. Lynnea helped Jessica into her gown. Jessica had decided to use the same dress from her first wedding, but she had it changed up a bit. She had the lacy cap sleeves and train removed and had a pale pink ribbon around the waist to compliment the bride’s maids. Now the dress was a tower of pure white. Jessica had a pearled tiara and necklace to complete her look. ‘She’s positively glowing,’ Lynnea thought, grabbing the rose bouquets and telling the girls where to line up. “Are you ready?” Lynnea asked. “Almost,” Jessica replied, “I’ll be out in just a moment.” Lynnea left Jessica in the changing room for a minute alone. Jessica pulled a framed photo of Peter out. “Pete, I’m getting married again, just like I know you’d want me to. But I will always have loved you first.” Jessica kissed the picture and went outside to marry the second man of her dreams. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ David, Urs, and Jessica’s two brothers came out onto the platform on the hill. This was the perfect place for a wedding; a beautiful green hill nestled between the mountains. A white carpet was the aisle between the rows of white wooden folding chairs. Urs placed his hand on David’s shoulder to calm him. Then the music started. David’s sister, Heidi came down the aisle, followed by Cyd, Jessica’s cousin. Then Lynnea. Urs saw her walking and lost his breath. She was the only person he could see. As she approached the front her eyes locked on his for a moment that seemed like an eternity. Their eyes seemed to say the same thing… ‘This should have been our wedding.’ Lynnea stood in her place as Jessica, escorted by her father Charles, came over the hill. The guests rose to their feet and the grand march music started. David, who had been having a nervous fit all day suddenly felt completely calm. His eyes were fixed on Jessica. He couldn’t believe that the angel coming towards him was about to become his wife. Jessica smiled up at David. The minister stepped forward and spoke, “Who gives this woman to be married to this man?” “Her mother and I,” Charles answered. Jessica placed a kiss on her father’s cheek and took David’s hand. The minister gave the opening prayer and a quick message. Then he asked David and Jessica to hold hands and say their vows. David spoke first, “Jessica, you are an angel, the only thing that gets me up in the morning and it’s your face that I see in my dreams at night. I promise that I will love you and defend you ‘til the day I die.” “David, two years ago, I was convinced that I could never love anyone again and that there was no point to living this life. But David, then I met you and you were like the sun shining on a never ending winter. I will follow you, David, to the end of the earth.” The two of them continued to gaze into each other’s eyes as the minister asked Urs for the rings. Jessica took the gold band and repeated after the minister, as did David. “With this ring, I thee wed,” they said as they slipped the rings onto each other’s hands. Jessica smiled up at David knowing what was coming next. “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”Jessica wrapped her arms around David as he kissed her and the guests applauded. | |

| Chapter 22 All the wedding guests went down to the base of the hill for the wedding reception. A huge white silk tent was set up in the grass. Inside the tent was a large wooden floor for dancing with tables for guests surrounding. A long table was set up on the far side for the wedding party. The guests were filled with Filet Mignon and the couple cut the tree tiered double chocolate cake. If guests had any room left in their stomachs, massive chocolate fountains were in all the corners of the tent. At about eight o’ clock David and Jessica took the dance floor to the song Hero by Enrique Iglesias. Then Jessica danced with her father and David danced with his mother. (Because You Loved Me, Celine Dion) Then came the dance Lynnea was dreading and Urs had waited all day for. The entire wedding party danced to “Without You.” Lynnea tried not to enjoy herself, but it felt so wonderful to be back in Urs’ arms. Lynnea averted her eyes, looking at anything but him. Quite the contrary, Urs couldn’t keep his eyes off Lynnea. He didn’t say anything, just gazed with his piercing grey eyes. Whenever he could catch Lynnea’s eyes he would try to think of something to say but nothing came to him. The song ended and Lynnea excused herself from the next dance. Urs joined Seb and Carlos at the chocolate fountain where they were making a mess in the flowing chocolate. “It’s nice to see you dancing with Lynnea again,” Seb commented. “I agree,” Carlos added. “I was surprised to see you acting civil to each other.” “She won’t talk to me,” Urs explained. “She’ll hardly even look at me.” “Well, what did you expect from her?” Carlos asked. Seb asked, “What do you want from her, Urs?” Urs took a deep breath and admitted, “I want her forgiveness.” “Do you want her love?” said a voice from behind Urs. He turned to find Theo. “Do you want to love her? Will you treat her with respect?” “Yes, but she won’t give me another chance.” “I think she might,” Theo stepped into the circle and spoke to Urs. “She doesn’t love me Urs; she loves you.” “It’s true Urs,” Seb confirmed. “Well what do I do?” “We have a plan for you,” David said, also joining the circle and pulling a long, red jewelry box from his jacket and handing it to Urs, who opened it. Inside was the golden charm bracelet he’d given Lynnea for Christmas. “I told you to get rid of this,” Urs stated. “I knew you’d need it back someday.” The five men formulated a plan while Jessica prepared to toss her bouquet. All the single women in the tent went to the center of the floor. Lynnea was talking to Cydalia, Jessica’s cousin and a fellow bride’s maid. “Gosh, I don’t know why I even try to catch that stupid bouquet anymore. If I haven’t found my guy by now I don’t think he’s coming.” The women waited as Jessica turned around and tossed the pale pink roses. Lynnea was them coming her way, but at the last moment she stepped aside and let them land in Cyd’s arms. “Cyd, you got it!” Lynnea yelled and hugged her friend. “There’s still hope!” Cyd laughed and the girls went to sit down, but halfway to their table a man tapped Cyd on the shoulder. “Excuse me, but would you like to dance?” “Sure,” she answered, handing the newly won flowers to Lynnea. “I’m Jeremiah James, a friend of David, and you are?” he asked placed a hand at Cyd’s waist. “Cydalia Jeffery, Jessica is my cousin.” “I saw you catch the flowers; do you have someone in mind to fulfill the promise that comes with that?” he asked, referring to the old legend that the girl that catches the bouquet will be the next to get married. “No,” Cyd answered, blushing slightly. “Good,” Jeremiah said. Cyd’s face went scarlet and she hoped that her knees wouldn’t go out. Across the room Theo approached Lynnea and asked her to dance; she accepted. “Are you having a good time?” he asked. “Of course!” she answered. “Good, and it’s about to get even better.” “What do you mean?” she wondered, as she spun out. She felt Theo let go of her hand, but someone else caught it and spun her back in. Suddenly, she was dancing with Urs. “Urs! Where did Theo go?” she asked looking around frantically. “He’s fine,” he said. “He just needed to step out for some fresh air.” Urs again didn’t take his eyes off of her. She could feel his gaze and her cheeks warmed knowing he was looking at her. “What are you doing, Urs? This isn’t funny.” “Admiring your beauty,” he answered calmly. Lynnea looked back at him, and their eyes were locked together for a minute. Urs moved his hand, pulling Lynnea closer to him. She closed her eyes and moved in like she was going to lay her head on his shoulder, but instead she murmured in his ear. “Urs, I can’t handle this again,” she backed away from him then snuck out a side exit of the tent…just as Urs had planned. Lynnea stepped out under the starry sky and sat on a small stone wall, urging her heart rate to slow down. She thought she’d composed herself enough to go back in when Theo came around the corner and sat next to her. “Theo,” Lynnea smiled, a bit startled. “Where did you go? Why would you go along with that stupid joke?” “Because it wasn’t a joke,” he took her hand. “You don’t love me Lynnea; you still love Urs. He’s the one you were meant to be with.” Lynnea interrupted, “Theo, I told you I’m over it, I have to move on with my life. Maybe I don’t love you yet, but-“ “No Lynnea. I’m not upset or hurt; I want to see you with the man you love, and the man that loves you.” “And you think that’s Urs?” “I know it. Maybe this will help you remember.” Theo pulled out the red jewelry box. Lynnea opened it and remembered that night, in the snow, when she and Urs had shared their first kiss. She opened the little gold heart and saw the inscription, Urs and Lynnea. Theo lifted the golden bracelet and clasped it around Lynnea’s wrist. He kissed Lynnea’s cheek and went into the wedding tent. Lynnea stood when she heard a rustling in the trees; there stood Urs. They looked at each other for a few moments. Then Lynnea threw up her hands and laughed. “So what now? Am I supposed to just forgive you and it’ll all be good again? We’ll just pick up where we left off? Do you think we can just forget all this, get married and go live a perfect fairy tale life?” “Yah, something like that.” Lynnea walked to him and embraced him; putting her head on his chest and letting the tears fall. “Lynnea, I’m so sorry.” Urs whispered, kissing her temple. “I’ve been such a fool. I don’t need anything but your love.” Urs sang to her softly. Si me ves hallarás en mis ojos el amor eres tú la mitad que a mi vida completó Lo que soy te daré sin miedo a algun error creo en ti y dejaré en tus manos mi ilusión. Quiero estar dentro de tu corazón, Poder lograr que me ames como yo. (If you look at me you will find love in my eyes you are my other half I will give you all of myself without fear of making mistakes I believe in you and I will leave my dreams in your hands I want to be in your heart I want you to love me the way I love you) Quiero ser el lugar donde puedas refugiar el temor y calmar en mis brazos tu ansiedad Desde hoy voy a ser todo para ti Hasta ayer te soñé y ahora estás aquí Quiero oir tus secretos, lo que sueñes descubrir, quiero amarte así. (I want to be the place where you can find shelter from your fear and quiet your anxiety in my arms from today I'll be everything for you until yesterday I only dreamt of you and now you're here I want to know your secrets I want to hear your dreams I want to love you this way) I only want to be the man to give you everything I can every day and every night love you for all my life. I don't want to change the world as long as you're my girl it's more than enough, just to be the man you love. Lynnea looked into Urs’ eyes and their lips met for the first time in more than a year. The kiss wasn’t deep or overly passionate, but loving and trusting. Urs grabbed something in his pocket and held it up to Lynnea. She gasped at the sight of the beautiful yellow diamond engagement ring. He slipped it onto her finger. It slipped right into its proper place. | |

| Chapter 22b Lynnea slipped her hand into Urs’ as they walked back into the tent. He pulled her chair out for her at the table then sat down next to her. They looked out to the dancing couples and saw Jessica giving her thumbs up because David had told her what happened. They saw Cyd and Vincent dancing and to their surprise Theo and Courtney. Seb and Amy and Carlos and Amanda came over to congratulate Urs and Lynnea, then everyone waved goodbye as David and Jessica left for the airport. Jessica had changed into a white, ruffled, halter dress, and flip flops. “Remember David,” Lynnea had said to him, “the tickets are-“ “In the front pocket of my bag,” he finished for her, giving her a hug. “Thanks Lynnea, for everything.” Lynnea then went to Jessica. “Have fun, Jess.” “Oh, don’t worry, I will!” she answered. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ David and Jessica boarded a private flight and David would not tell her where they were going. “Davy,” she whined. “Come on; where are we going?” “I can’t tell you,” he said taking her hand in his. “Please!” she asked again placing a kiss on his cheek. When David didn’t answer she did it again, moving kisses down his neck. But David would not give in. After flying for about an hour the plane landed near a quiet coastal village. Jessica saw a sign and she realized they were in Greece. “Where are we staying?” Jessica asked looking out on the bare beach. David took her hand and started leading her down towards the beach. “Wait, don’t you think we should grab our bags and our clothes?” “I don’t think we’ll need them,” he said with a glint in his eye. She realized what he meant and hurried to follow him. Down the beach, they came to a small cottage. Inside was just one room with a large canopy bed in the center. The white organza rustled in the sea breeze that came in through the open windows. Jessica dropped David’s hand and stood in awe of this perfect romantic getaway. “David, it’s beautiful,” she whispered. “But not nearly as beautiful as you,” he said stepping towards her and taking her in his arms. She placed her hands at his neck and let him unclasp her dress then he led her to the bed. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ While David and Jessica spent two weeks on their Grecian Island, Urs and Lynnea got reacquainted. They hadn’t seen each other in a year before the wedding so they had a lot to talk about. They also spent time taking care of Carlos and Amanda’s daughter, Angeli, who was 15 months old. Urs had never really thought that he wanted children, but this little girl was changing his mind, as was Lynnea’s admittance, “Urs, I’d like a big family.” “Really, how big?” “Oh, I don’t know, ten, twelve, sixteen kids.” “You want sixteen kids!” he was dumbfounded. Lynnea just laughed. “Let’s just take it one at a time.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Carlos and Amanda returned with news that they were expecting another baby, but everyone was more surprised that Jeremiah and Cyd had gotten engaged and planned to married within a month. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~ Lynnea and Urs set their wedding for early May in Lynnea’s home town, Hill City, Iowa. It was a long wait for both of them, but they knew it would be worth it.
Chapter 23 One year later, the long awaited wedding day finally arrived. The year had flown by and dragged by at the same time. Lynnea awoke, feeling completely calm and entirely excited. She’d never felt more sure of anything in her life. Urs also woke ready for the day. He hummed all the way through his work out then sang in the shower then sang to David when he showed up at his door. He almost danced down the hallway and to the car. The past year had been long and hard to take, but he couldn’t wait to finally be with the woman he loved. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Lynnea showed up at her home church early to get hair done and to spend time with her six bridesmaids. (Jessica, Danika, Cyd, Amanda, Diana, and Brittni) Lynnea had set up a huge wedding, definitely the biggest that the small Iowa town had ever seen. The pews of the church were all decked with flowers and a white carpet ran up the aisle. The grandeur of the church though, could not compare to the beauty of the bride. Lynnea wore a strapless tight waisted A-line cut dress that glittered in the light. Her hair was in tumbling curls and was held up by a sparkling tiara. Diamonds shown around her neck and wrist. Jessica and the bridesmaids wore strapless tea dresses that ere the color of a swimming pool. The dresses were beaded and matched the beaded shoes. The time for the ceremony had come and Urs and his groomsmen lined up at the front of the church. Urs wore a classic black tux with a white vest. The music from the string quintet started with Beethoven’s “Romance #2 for Violin” and Urs looked to the back for the first sight of Lynnea. He waited while all six bridesmaids walked in. Then the music changed the congregation stood as Lynnea came around the corner. Suddenly the room seemed to go completely silent. Lynnea looked up at Urs and their eye locked together. Lynnea smiled and Urs’ heart leapt. Lynnea, on the arm of her father, came all the way down the aisle then stopped to kiss her father’s cheek before talking Urs’ hand and joining him at the altar. “Dearly beloved,” the minister started. “We are gathered here today to join Lynnea Elsa Snyder and Urs Toni Buhler in holy matrimony. If anyone sees reason that these two people should not be married let him speak now or forever hold his peace.” Urs squeezed Lynnea’s hand and no one objected. The ceremony went on. The opening prayer was said and a short message was given; Urs left Lynnea’s side for a moment to join David, Carlos, and Sebastien in singing Hasta Mi Final (To My End.) As long as God allows Your place will be next to me. Today everyone will know how much I love you And to the end, we’ll be together) (And I have never been so sure That I love you this way, unconditionally When I look at you, my love I swear I’ll always take care of our union)
Hoy te prometo Amor eterno Ser para siempre Tuyo en el bien y en el mal Hoy te demuestro Cuanto te quiero Amamdote hasta mi final
(Today I promise endless love To be forever in the good and in bad Today I show you how much I love you Loving you until my end)
Lo mejor que me ha pasado Fue verte por primera vez Y estar así de mano en mano Es lo que amor siempre soñé
(The best thing that ever happened to me Was to see you the first time To be united, hand in hand It’s what I’ve always dreamt of)
Hoy te prometo Amor eterno Ser para siempre Tuyo en el bien y en el mal Hoy te demuestro Cuanto te quiero Amamdote hasta mi final
(Today I promise endless love To be forever in the good and in bad Today I show you how much I love you Loving you until my end)
Urs rejoined Lynnea; her eyes were glistening with tears. Lynnea handed her bouquet down and the two of them joined hands and locked eyes. The minister started the vows. “Urs, will you repeat after me?” “I, Urs Toni Buhler…” “I, Lynnea Elsa Snyder, take you Urs Buhler to be my lawfully wedded husband…” “To be my lawfully wedded wife...” “From this day forward…” “For better or for worse…” “For richer or for poorer…” “In sickness and in health…” “’til death do us part.” “’til death do us part.” Then David handed over the rings. Lynnea and Urs both took them and said, “With this ring, I thee wed.” Lynnea and Urs smiled, smiled knowing what was coming next. The minister paused for dramatic effect, and Lynnea held her breath. Urs looked at him impatiently. Finally he spoke, “I now announce you Mr. and Mrs. Urs Buhler; you may kiss the bride.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Urs and Lynnea cantered hand in hand out of the church and hopped into the limo. Lynnea couldn’t keep the smile off her face. “You have the most beautiful smile,” Urs told her kissing her hand. “I don’t think I’ll ever stop smiling again!” she answered. She slipped her onto his chest and under his jacket. She leaned in to kiss him and said, “Do we have to go to the reception?” He let her kiss him then laughed. “Patience Lynnea, patience.”

| Chapter 24 Urs and Lynnea arrived at the reception hall inside the Colbert Grand Hotel. But the limo went around the block a couple times to give the couple a few more minutes alone together and to give Lynnea time to reapply lipstick that had transferred to Urs’ face. They couldn’t help themselves. Inside, all the guests sat around round, silk covered tables. It was served with a fabulous white wine. Lynnea noticed that Jessica didn’t touch the wine and requested a glass of water. Lynnea would have to inquire later because the guests kept clinking their glasses to request a kiss from the newlyweds. Next Urs and Lynnea cut into their huge wedding cake. Then they took to the dance floor. Lynnea held close to Urs for their first song, “Come What May.” Time, Lynnea’s father, came out next to request a dance. He’d picked one on Lynnea’s favorite childhood songs, “You’re My Little Girl.” Lynnea danced and danced and finally after the chicken dance, the hokey-pokey, and the electric slide, Lynnea had a chance to talk to Jessica. She pulled Jessica along the kitchen hallway and grabbed a glass of wine from a passing waiter’s tray. She stopped and held the glass in front of Jessica. “Jess, have a drink,” she commanded mischievously. “I’m not thirsty,” she answered trying to look innocent. “I know you’ve never been a heavy drinker, but you usually have one or two glasses. So, are you going to tell me what’s going on, or am I going to have to tickle it out of you?” “Oh fine,” Jessica gave in. “I’m going to have a baby!” “I KNEW IT!!” Lynnea yelled hugging her best friend. “How long have you known?” “About a week and a half.” “Does David know?” “Not yet.” “Why didn’t you tell me?” “Because this is supposed to be your special time, it should be all about you!” “You are way too nice Jessica Miller!” They linked arms and went back to the party. Only the closest friends and family were still there. Urs came to Lynnea and took her arm. “Are you ready to go my lady?” “Of course, kind sir.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Urs and Lynnea stood outside the Colbert Grand’s honeymoon suite, where they would spend their first night together before spending a week in Paris. Urs pulled out the key and hastily unlocked the door. He picked up his bride and carried her over the threshold. He set her down and she gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. “I’ll just change quickly.” Lynnea slipped into the bathroom and found her bag already inside. She slipped off her shoes and pulled the tiara out of her hair letting it fall in loose curls around her shoulders. The jewelry, she carefully placed in their velvet boxes then she hung her gorgeous dress up for the night. She looked in her bag for her wedding night outfit. She’d decided to wear a simple white slip for their first night as husband and wife. Lynnea took one last look in the mirror then opened the door. There stood Urs, facing away from her and leaning against the mantle. He had changed as well; he wore only a pair of black silk shorts. He turned to Lynnea when he heard the bathroom door click closed again. Lynnea leaned back against the door and gazed at Urs across the dimly lit room. Lynnea’ stomach did flip-flops when her eyes met with his hairless, toned chest. She was suddenly shy and looked down at her toes. Urs came to her and took her hands in his. He looked down at her lovingly, he deep grey eyes piercing into her bright blue ones. He guided her to the bed; she sat on the edge while he pushed the straps of her garment off her shoulders. She pulled her legs onto the bed and Urs slowly lowered himself to her. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* The bright morning sun peeked through the windows of honeymoon suite at the Colbert Grand Hotel. The sun hit Lynnea’s eyes as she tried to open them. She shifted slightly so she wouldn’t be blinded by the sun. She opened her eyes and saw her husband still sleeping. Lynnea snuggled in against her body and gave a sigh of contentment as she played the nights escapades over in her head. Urs moved beside her and she saw that he had woken up as well. He pushed her hair off her forehead and smiled. “So, how was it?” “Entirely worth the wait,” she replied.
