Even one of the world's foremost classical acts has to keep a modern wardrobe.

Il Divo blends four distinct voices to create an operatic pop sound, and cover a huge range of different covers.
The men of Il Divo have a lot of suits. In fact, they have a storage unit full.

David Miller, a tenor with the four-man musical sensation, said with every tour and promotional year come new suits and tuxedos. He said they just don't have the voices to match jeans and t-shirts.

"We want to make a nice, crisp, clean impression, but we don't want to look old-fashioned. We definitely try to keep current with what is this year's fashion, or, if we can get it, what is next year's fashion," Miller said.

Il Divo, currently on a world tour that will take them to six continents, is definitely in style. They've sold more than 26 million albums worldwide since Simon Cowell, notoriously blunt music executive and American Idol judge, brought the group together in 2004.

Their most recent album, Wicked Game, includes a cover of the hit song Wicked Game originally recorded by Chris Isaak. It also includes operatic covers of songs like Don't Cry for Me Argentina, Roy Orbison's Crying and Come What May, the love theme from Moulin Rouge.

The group is known for their unique brand of operatic pop music. They have voices as big as the arena venues they play and features that wouldn't be out of place on a Roman bust. Miller describes their music as a "melting pot" of different musical elements, not unlike the band itself. Miller is American, pop singer Sébastien Izambard is from France, Urs Bühler, also a tenor, is from Switzerland and baritone Carlos Marín is Spanish.

"We've got four guys coming in with very distinct voices, all kind of blending together, but also trying to be distinctive. People know our voices actually. They can pick us out," Miller said, adding that, in the finale, they come together to ensure the sum is greater than its parts.

Il Divo will be joined on the Canadian leg of their tour by one of Canada's best-known young artists - Nikki Yanofsky. The 18-year-old jazz and pop singer is best known for singing the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics theme "I Believe."

She's met the men of Il Divo before, but never like this. She's opening for them, but is still unsure if they'll get to share the stage. "Those things tend to be spontaneous anyway, so you never know," she said.
