I really feel for Urs as I too hate snakes of any kind and would have most likely fainted or run from the room screaming.. Never to return..

Chapter 113 - Bathing Beauties
Urs scanned the pool, quickly spotting Franky talking to Emma and returned her smile when she turned to face him. Knowing he'd eaten a few moments ago, he shook his head at her invite to join them then turned away and settled himself on one of the empty loungers.
"Not much on offer is there mate?" He heard a male voice questioning from his right side and turned to look at its owner.
An athletically built, dark haired, brown eyed man met his eyes but the main thing that stood out was the huge bruise on the left side of his face.
"Sorry?"
"I said there's not much on offer is there?" The man repeated, nodding towards the pool.
"Not that I'm looking, but looks aren't everything. It's what's inside that counts."
"Jesus! Not another one."
"Oh you're one of those? The kind of man who goes around thinking that just because a woman is beautiful on the outside she's got to be beautiful on the inside. It doesn't always work like that you know? Trust me, I know."
"So my best mate said just before he thumped me." The man replied touching his bruise and flexing his jaw. "After I said I can't see what he sees in his fiancee. I mean she'd never make the cover of Vogue, great cook mind and she was very supportive of him when his father died. My last girlfriend decided it would be better to bed her sister's boyfriend rather than help me sort out my mum's arrangements."
"There you go then." Urs shrugged. "You don't do that to someone you care about. I'm guessing she was good looking."
"Eleven on a scale of one to ten. She'd put most of the girls here to shame, the only one that comes close is the redhead over near the diving boards. Except for those ugly ass scars she has anyway, especially the one on her leg."
"You think scars are ugly?" Urs asked following a quick look to Franky who was now seated on the side of the pool, playfully kicking water at a giggling Emma.
"Sure. You don't?"
"No. I think they're beautiful. There's usually a story behind most of them and they serve to remind the bearer how brave they are, especially if they're not ashamed to show them."
"Hmmn. I've never thought of it like that."
"That much is patently obvious." Urs nodded then scanned the pool area and spotted an attractive young woman relaxing on lounger, reading a magazine and completely unashamed to show the scars on her legs. "Take the blond over there for example. What's her story?"
"Hadn't noticed her. She looks nice. Curves in all the right places and obviously up for some fun." The man replied, watching the woman Urs had indicated chase the three friends she'd arrived with into the water, the four of them quickly becoming involved in dunking each other into the depths, each woman laughing hysterically when they came back up.
"Would your ex ever have done something like that?"
"Not in a million years, wouldn't have even hung out with a woman like her. We had nothing in common really now I think about. Our music taste for example. Polar opposites." The man informed following a loud laugh. "You know what? I think I'm finally going to heed my father's words and go talk to her. Find out what her story is and ask her for a date."
"What words?"
"Erm.....A flower hidden in the undergrowth, is no less beautiful because it's hidden. Or something like that anyway."
Urs smiled and nodded as he watched the man walk away then grinned when he saw how red the woman's face went when he offered his hand to help her out of the pool. A few seconds later Franky appeared in front of him, drying herself off a little before she sat down between his legs.
"No hitches at the soundcheck today then?" She asked once his arms were wrapped around her.
"No. My mic was working fine." Urs nodded, his head shaking and laughing a little, recalling that his microphone had started breaking up just as they were finishing the previous evening's concert causing the audience to miss some of his words as he said goodbye, wished them a safe journey home and how he looked forward to seeing them on the next tour.
He started laughing when he remembered how David, Carlos and Sebastien had broken down into a giggling fit once they were backstage and how Franky had playfully told them off through her own laughter. He blew out a quick breath, thanking God that the loose wire had been found and fixed before they even left the stadium, their techinician looking very embarrassed as he apologised.
"What were you talking to Caleb about?"
"Huh? How do you know that's his name?"
"He introduced himself just before Emma and me hit the pool, then made his excuses and left us alone as soon as he saw our scars, particularly the one on my leg."
"Oh." Urs nodded, drawing out the exclamation then told Franky of his conversation. "I think I've put him on the right track."
"Sure looks like it." Franky smiled, her head turning to the left to watch Caleb return to his seat with the woman on his arm, looking slightly stunned.
"What?" The woman asked with a hint of laughter to her voice as she settled herself on the lounger.
"I think you're incredibly brave. I mean being bitten by a dog when you were ten and now running a shelter for homeless dogs. I love dogs but don't think I would have the courage to go near one ever again if I'd been bitten. In fact I know I couldn't."
"It's the owner who's to blame, not the dog." The woman replied.
"I guess." Caleb nodded. "Anyway, where would you like to go tonight? I was thinking 'Fuerte's'."
"Anything would be better than an Il Divo concert." The woman replied with a nod back towards her friends. "Not really my thing. Nickelback, Papa Roach, groups like that, then nothing would stop me."
"You're kidding?"
"No. Besides, my ticket won't go to waste. Ella bumped into an old friend yesterday, she been trying to get a ticket since her release from hospital."
"Okay. How about lunch? I haven't eaten since breakfast."
"Okay. I'll have a cheeseburger with the works."
"The works?"
"Bacon and sliced, sauteed mushrooms and fries. A burger's not a burger without fries."
Urs noticed that Caleb's eyes widened on hearing those words fall from the woman's mouth and it was all to clear why when he ordered two cheesburgers topped as the woman requested. It was obvious, Caleb liked his burger served exactly the same way.
"Hey you two." A French accent suddenly grabbed Urs and Franky's attention and they both turned to face. "Are we going to see a few sights or what? Emma's almost ready."
"Sorry Seb." Franky informed once she was standing upright. "The Uberlord has been playing matchmaker again." She laughed and gave the totally oblivious couple a nod before she trotted back inside the hotel.
Knowing what was bound to happen if he followed Franky up to their suite, Urs remained where he was but watched her leave with the Cheshire Cat grin on his face and coughed to compose himself when a laughing Sebastein shook his head at him and threatened to shove him in the pool to cool off.
Still laughing the two men headed back inside to wait for Emma and Franky to join them for their planned sightseeing trip around Lisbon. Both couples had a wonderful time, each heading off in different directions to do their own thing, only meeting up to head back to the hotel and have something light to eat before the concert which went off without a hitch.
Six months later, Urs sat flicking through a celebrity magazine and was quite shocked to see pictures of Caleb with his arms wrapped around the woman he'd met at the pool. A read through the accompanying article informed him that he'd asked Jenna to marry him on a beach in Mauritius and that he'd retired from modelling underwear for Calvin Klein in order to help his future wife in the running of her dog sanctuary. Caleb offering his thanks to the stranger he'd met in Portugal for making him see that true beauty comes from within at the close of the interview.
He showed the article to Franky when she returned from having her hair trimmed then playfully chased her around the hotel room when she teasingly started singing.
"Matchmaker, Matchmaker. Make me a match. Find me find. Catch me a catch."
The two of them ended up on the bed and quickly becoming involved in a pillow fight, which ended with them both gasping for breath, themselves and a lot of the room covered in feathers.

Seems that man stuck his foot in his mouth and I am surprise that Urs didn't hit him to when he insulted Franky..

Good to know that what Urs said to him changed his attitude towards women in general...

Chapter 114 - Merci Mes Amis
He sat watching his French brother, wondering how he was still on his feet after what he'd been through the past four days. He thought things hit Franky and himself like rapid fire bullets sometimes, but at least they'd never had to deal with what Sebastien was going through right now. Emma pregnant and unable to be with him because she was currently confined to their home with orders to rest as much as possible, the baby's movements being carefully monitored by her doctor. Sebastien wanting to be with her but unable to be so because his beloved mother had passed away the previous evening and the envelope he held tight in his hand contained paperwork that told him what he had to do and in what timeframe.
Urs stood, walked over to the window where Sebastien had placed himself and gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Sorry Urs. I erm.......Have you heard something from Erin?"
"No. Just thinking how well you've coped with what's happened. I didn't think you would be this calm this morning."
"Neither did I. I don't think I would be if you weren't here with me, though I'd prefer it if Emma was standing where you are. No offence." Sebastien sniffed then took a deep breath.
"None taken." Urs shook his head.
"Where have Carlos and David gone?"
"To get something to eat, I'm not that hungry."
"Menteur." Sebastien huffed a quick laugh then sniffed again when he heard Urs's stomach rumble loudly.
"All right, I am. Don't worry about me, they said they'd pick something up for me."
"Thanks for being there for me last night, Urs. I couldn't have walked out of that hospital on my own. I couldn't even have.........have........Oh mon dieu, when are they going to find a cure for that horrible disease?"
"I don't know, Seb."
"I just wish she could have held on......just a couple of more weeks......then she could have seen her......her last grandchild."
"Last?"
"Oui. Monique will be our last child Urs. Emma argued with me, until I put my foot down. It was bad enough having to watch her suffer with Eden and now she is doing so again.........Non, she will not endure that a third time. I will not chance fate again. I could not make it through what Carlos did or my cousin for that matter. That much I do know."
"There's no need to explain, I understand." Urs sighed, knowing that Sebastien had wanted a big family at the beginning of his and Emma's marriage.
He looked out of the window, recalling that Eden had virtually stopped moving and kicking, that he'd had to be delivered at thirty-four weeks weighing little more than four pounds and Emma had suffered a postpartum haemorrhage. Now, almost two years later, she was in the same position again, though a little further along with Monique at thirty-seven weeks. He could perfectly well understand Sebastien not wanting to put her through another pregnancy. His eyes widened, wondering how long the couple had argued for, other than Carlos and Barbara-Jean who could argue for days, no other couple came closer than Sebastien and Emma. Their record to date, three and half days.
Hearing Sebastien's name being called behind them, Urs looked round to see the clerk to the undertaker standing there and gently squeezed the Frenchman's arm when he realised Sebastien hadn't heard her.
"Looks like they're ready for you mon ami."
"Desole."
"Monsieur Izambard, je suis Camille Beauchamp. Je suis vraiment désolée pour votre perte." The woman smiled softy, offering her hand for Sebastien to shake.
"Merci."
Urs watched Sebastien take a deep breath before he crossed the threshold of the office Camille had appeared from, then sat down on one of the comfortable, over-stuffed couches. Though feeling a little tired, he didn't want to fall asleep and resisted the urge to settle back and doze off, especially since he was on 'Emma update watch' and currently had Sebastien's mobile in the pocket of his jeans, the unit set to vibrate for now considering that they were in La Voie Eternelle, a funeral home just down the road from where Marie had passed away.
Yawning, he leaned forward and picked up the cup he'd been given shortly after arriving only to frown when he saw that it was empty because he couldn't remember finishing the coffee. Sebastien's cup sat close by, barely touched and cold now. Hearing the door open, he turned his head and returned the soft smiles Carlos and David gave his as they entered.
"Thanks." He sighed, taking the 'Starbucks' cup and New York Deli sandwich David offered him before taking a seat.
"Any news on Emma?" David asked, blowing out deep breath.
"Nein."
"He's handling this muy better than I thought he would." Carlos stated, looking at the office door.
"Ja, he is. I think what Franky told him a few years ago helped, even though Marie developed a different form of cancer."
"Who turned up at the house late last night?"
"His father, David." Urs replied his eyes widening slightly, swallowing the first bite of his sandwich. "Don't ask me what they said to each other, I left them to it. He wasn't there long, that much I do know and Seb was crying again when he left. Then again he hasn't really stopped since last night."
Hearing his mobile begin to ring, Urs stood once he'd checked who was calling and spoke quietly.
"Hi angel."
"Morning honey. How soon can you get Seb to the Eurotunnel?"
"Pretty fast, why?"
"Erin's just called, they've decided to induce Emma and I'm currently holding a seat for him. You, Carlos and David will have to come back on the next one or by ferry 'cos there's only one seat left. He needs to be there within the next half hour"
"Okay. I'll sort that out this end." Urs nodded, looking at the office door to see that it was open and Sebastien was thanking Camille for her help.
"Okay. I'll confirm that booking and tell Seb I'll be waiting to take him to the hospital."
"Ja, bye angel."
"Bye honey." Franky sniffed before she hung up.
"Is everything all right, Urs?" Sebastien asked, wiping his eyes again.
"I'll tell you once we're in the car." Urs smiled, nodding towards the waiting room door, grabbing his jacket and indicating for David and Carlos to follow, finishing the sandwich as they walked.
Once inside the hire car, Urs explained Franky's phone call while he drove and heard Sebastien emit a groan first then take a deep breath.
"You can do this Seb." Carlos's voice came from the back seat and Urs glanced across to see that he'd placed a reassuring hand on the Frenchman's shoulder.
"I know. I just wish one of you was coming with me." Sebastien sniffed then smiled half-heartedly.
In what seemed like a lot less than the actual two hours, Sebastien was on a train ahead of the rest of his brothers, texting Urs that he'd found Franky and was on his way to the hospital just as their train left Paris. Noticing that David and Carlos were otherwise occupied, Urs pulled out the sheets of paper a specialist had given him just an hour before a distraught Sebastien had called to let him know his mother didn't have much time left, maybe only a few hours.
His eyes widened a little, knowing that he'd just about had time to apologise to Franky and Saskia after arguing with them that there was nothing physically wrong with Serena, she was just easily distracted and still didn't have full control of her bladder. Despite his doubts, Franky had taken her to the doctor anyway and he in turn had sent Serena for tests. He smiled, remembering that Serena had wanted both her Mami and Papi by her bedside while the Electroencephlagraph was carried out and how she'd giggled when she saw what she looked like in the red cap with all its electrodes and wires attached.
Once she was settled, she'd asked him to read her favourite story. Just three minutes into 'Wolstencroft The Bear' Serena had suffered one of her episodes and he'd had to stop, those twenty seconds ticking by so very slowly. She'd come out it, very embarrassed that she'd wet herself and had apologised to Franky with tears in her eyes. Of course, Franky had smiled and told her not to cry as she wiped her tears away.
The EEG complete, Franky had cleaned her up and they'd gone to see the specialist. She'd diagnosed Child Absence Epilepsy after looking at the tracings and finding a 3 Hz spike and wave discharges. Both he and Franky had gasped and he'd heard a stifled sob come from Franky's direction. Dr Jackson had quickly reassured them both that the condition was nothing to worry about, Serena would grow out of it by the time she hit puberty and there was medication that would help, it was just a question of getting the dosage of right. With the information he was currently reading and a prescription for a low dose of Ethosuximide in hand, they'd left the hospital hand-in-hand, himself carrying Serena and noticing that she four more episodes on the way down to the car and another fifteen while Franky collected her medicine.
They'd just got home and told Saskia what was wrong when Sebastien had called and he'd been a little angry at first because he'd wanted to sit down with Franky and read through the information. As usual she'd understood that the Frenchman needed someone with him and had insisted he go, she could always read up on Serena's condition online and while he packed she'd arranged the Eurotrain tickets for himself, Carlos and David and the hire car.
He had thought Serena had a lot of episodes in one day, anywhere up to fifty in twenty-four hour period but in comparison to some children, her condition was pretty mild. He didn't even want to think about seeing her 'space out' hundreds of times a day and returned the paper to his jacket pocket then rubbed his tired face.
"Something wrong Carlos?" He asked, noticing the Spaniard was looking at him with concerned eyes
"Si." He replied, nodding to where Urs had put what he'd been reading.
"It's nothing to worry about. Serena will grow out of it." Urs shook his head and reluctantly handed over the papers for Carlos and David to read when they asked to know what was wrong with her.
The next few moments were filled with silence and Urs took the opportunity to catch up with his sleep a little. He wasn't sure how long he'd been asleep, but it didn't feel like long when he felt someone shaking him gently. He opened his eyes to see David smiling at him and looked out of the window to see that they were back in London.
"Give me your keys buddy, I'll drive us home." David demanded once they were in the car park.
"Nein, I'm fine." Urs replied through a long yawn, shaking his head.
"Stop being so obstinado and give David the keys. You are not driving on less than three hours sleep." Carlos growled, snatching the keys from Urs's hand and tossing them to David.
Too tired to argue or protest, Urs nodded and settled himself in the Odyssey once they'd located it and quickly fell asleep, unable to remember leaving the car park, never mind the capital city itself. He awoke just as David turned the vehicle into the driveway of his and Franky's home and stretched out as much as he could before getting out. Desperate to get back to their own families, David and Carlos refused his offer of refreshment and were soon heading back down the drive in their own vehicles.
He entered the house to be greeted by all the children except Serena who was in the laundry room with her mother according to Frank. Urs made his way into that room and smiled when he saw Franky wiping Serena's tears away again, gently telling her to stop apologising as she picked her up and held her tight.
"Hi." She smiled, accepting the kiss he gave her.
"Any news yet?"
"No, honey. It's only been three hours since I dropped him off. Why don't you go and catch up with your sleep? You look worse than Seb did. No arguments please."
"You going to join me?"
"I can't right now. Saskia's gone out to buy Serena more underwear. She's soiled all the ones she has."
"Sorry, Papi." Serena sniffed, then buried her red face in Franky's hair.
"It doesn't matter, Cherub. It's not your fault." Urs shook his head, stroking Serena's head.
"I'll join you if Saskia gets back before you wake up. Okay?"
Yawing widely, Urs nodded, kissed Franky once more and reluctanly made his way upstairs and promptly fell asleep with Franky's pillow in his arms, breathing in the scent of Lillies, not caring that the children were making a lot of noise downstairs. When he woke again, Franky was in his arms and just beginning to stir. Deciding to wait until she was fully awake, he looked at the alarm clock, his eyes widening once again when he saw that it showed 6:10pm. Franky woke mere seconds later and gave him a kiss before leaving the bed to head for the bathroom.
Remembering that he hadn't had chance to shower or shave earlier in the day, Urs headed to the en-suite and quickly attended to his needs while Franky went downstairs. Refreshed and re-dressed, he ran downstairs when he heard Franky shouting and flew into her office to find her on her laptop reading the message that accompanied the picture of Sebastien and Emma's final child.
"Say hello to Monique Briar Tonie Izambard, born at 5:56 weighing 2.34 kgs. Mother and baby doing fine.
We decided to add Tonie to her name just minutes after she was born as a way of expressing our thanks to you Urs for all the support and help you've provided over the most difficult time of my life. I will never be able to thank you both enough for all you've done. I owe you both so much.
Love,
Seb and Emma
PS: While I appreciate the speed with which you got me to the hospital, Franky. I never, ever want to ride on a Harley again, pillion or otherwise.
Thanks again and see you soon."
"How did you get him on the back of a bike? I've spent years trying." Urs shook his head, his eyes wide.
"You know me.........I have my ways and means of persuading people to do things they don't think they can do."
"Ja, you do. And I love each and every one of them." Urs replied, pulling Franky up into his arms and giving her passionate kiss once he'd checked the office door was closed.

Poor Urs and Franky trying to deal with all that is happening to Serena & being needed to help Seb thru the loss of his mother..

I am sure he was worried about Emma and the baby at the same time.. That is a lot to handle all at once..

Chapter 115 - Caught Out
It wasn't very often that he was left alone in the house with no-one but 'Alondra' for company, but he was today and didn't quite know what to do with himself. Franky was out, having received phone call from Gabriel just after he'd stepped out of the shower following his morning run. The children were either at school or out with Saskia, Christie and Gabriel's three year old son, Mitchell Francis. 'Alondra' herself, was currently curled up in her basket, still recovering from the eight miles she'd accompanied Urs on this morning. There were no chores or maintenance work in need of doing, inside or out. Not that he would have been able to work outside today anyway, because it was bucketing down and had been since just after he'd got in from his run.
"Well for the first time in a very long time Londy, I can officially say I am bored." He huffed out a breath, knowing that his list of songs was complete and waiting for the meeting with Simon in just over month's time. "I suppose I could call the guys, see if they've started work on theirs yet. Then again......I'd better not, having David swear at me the last time I did that was bad enough and he'd probably use that kind of language again if I woke him up that early. Hmmn. What to do?" He grumbled, standing from his position on the couch, heading for the kitchen and pouring himself a coffee. "I know!" He cried triumphantly once he was back in the lounge. "Haven't watched those DVDs properly yet have I? Now........Where did I put them?"
He searched through the collection, recalling putting what he wanted to watch there and huffed when he couldn't find both of them. He thought for a minute, headed up to Sylvie's room and smiled when he found the missing one sitting on the desk beside her player. He ran back downstairs, turned on the television and slipped the disc into the slot. The disc had just begun to play when the house phone rang and he paused it before answering.
"Hi Ice. Just calling to let you know I'll be on my way back soon." Franky's voice came down the line followed by a heavy sigh.
"Okay. What's wrong, angel? You sound unhappy. Has there been some sort of problem at the garage?"
"Sort of. There's nothing to worry about though, it's all sorted. I'm just a little........I don't know......upset and shocked about what that man wanted to talk to me about."
"It's not someone wanting to buy you out again is it?" Urs asked, swallowing a mouthful of coffee, knowing that Franky had received several very generous offers for both garages recently and had turned every one down, firmly telling the person involved that her businesses were not for sale and would not be in the foreseeable future.
"No. That last guy got the message loud and clear. No, this new guy wanted something else entirely. He's looking for his birth father."
"WAS! "
"You heard me." Franky laughed. "I reacted exactly the same way when he told me he was my half-brother. It took me a while to get over the shock, then I asked him to tell me what he knew about his father and what proof he had, if any. Anyway, turns out we're not related after all."
"Really? How did you figure that out?"
"I knew as soon as he showed me the only photograph he has of his parents together. His mum looks about six months pregnant and the man holding her is definitely not my father, despite what it says on the back of the photograph."
"Oh. How did the guy react when you told him that?"
"He didn't believe me at first, then Gabe and couple of the other guys came into the office. Once they'd confirmed what I'd told him, he went outside to calm down and apologised when he came back. Then he asked me if I knew who the man was."
"Did you?"
"Yeah, I did. It was Richard Millington."
"That guy that used to work for your father? The one that always used his name and business to impress ladies?"
"That's the one, I'd know those blue eyes and black hair anywhere, not to mention that scar on his face."
"Hmmn. Have you told this guy......what's his name?"
"Sorry, Francis Cartwright. He's twenty-nine and looks just like Richard."
"Have you told him where he is?"
"Of course I have, roughly anyway. The last place I knew he lived, at least. Hopefully he's still in Cardiff. I don't know what happened between Richard and Ninetta, but I hope Francis finds him. He always wanted children."
"Good. So you'll be home in about half an hour?"
"More like forty five minutes. I'm going to call in at Margy's, see how she's doing after the knee replacement surgery and hopefully pick up a couple of the usual, unless you want something else."
"Nein. Those muffins are still as good as they always were. I'll see you in bit then. Love you, Fire."
"Love you too, Ice."
Grinning and rubbing his hands together once he'd hung up, Urs settled down on the couch and smiled as he watched images of a shorts and vest-topped Franky riding a black Andalusian horse bareback through the waves on the beach of Cadiz. He loved every second of watching her put the animal through its paces, a walk to begin with, slowly moving up to a full gallop. The images shook a little and he laughed when he remembered that the magnificant animal had come to sudden stop in front of him and he heard Franky asking him to climb on behind her. He done so once he'd handed the camera over to 'Casimiro's' owner and the elderly man had continued to record, his deep laugh being heard as the threesome headed into the water until it reached the horse's chest, where he spent a good ten minutes walking through the sea while his passengers kissed.
He watched the scenes again, this time thanking God that Carlos had been able to put him in touch with someone who would allow one of his beloved animals to be ridden in that fashion by complete strangers and reminding himself that he still owed the Spaniard a huge thank you for that once he and his family returned from Madrid. He changed the DVD once he'd watched 'Casimiro' being led away by his owner, making a mental note to ask Carlos what the man had said to the animal and inserted the one Franky knew absolutely nothing about. One that David had recorded during the tour showing Franky dancing in the hotel's ballroom to 'Crazy In Love' alongside Beyonce.
He giggled, recalling how shocked Franky had looked at being asked to perform the dance with the singer and how the woman herself had playfully dragged Franky into the ballroom despite her protestations. He continued to chuckle as he watched the twosome keeping perfect time with each other, recalling that the rest of the guys and the girls had wondered what was happening when they found him standing at the glass wall watching the action, not noticing the huge crowd that gathered around him. So stunned had Franky been at the end of the dance and the 'audience's' reaction to it, she hadn't noticed that David had his camera in his hands and still thought he'd laughed because it was him that had opened his mouth to the superstar. Urs grinned wickedly, knowing that it wasn't the American who'd said anything to her.
'Alondra' moved suddenly, ears standing to attention and barking as she headed towards the back door, Urs instantly knowing that Franky had returned and pressing what he thought was the stop button on the DVD's remote. Knowing that Franky would want a coffee with her muffin, he stood and headed to the kitchen where he stood waiting for her to enter with her Triumph mug in hand.
"So, how is Margy?" Urs asked, taking the white paper bag from Franky's hand and depositing the muffins on plates.
"Doing great. She has to sit on a stool to work and let her assistant do a bit more, but otherwise, she's back to how she was years ago." Franky nodded, a smile lighting up her face. "What have you been up to?"
"Not much. Just watching the Cadiz DVD."
Franky nodded then led the way back to the lounge, stopping dead in her tracks and her eyes widening when she saw the frozen image on the television.
"Oh crap!" Urs grimaced and shrugged playfully once he realised that he'd actually pressed the pause button. "I err..........Erm.........."
"Hmmn. Very sneaky Herr Buhler." Franky shook her head then gave him a kiss on the cheek. "And I still owe David for opening his mouth."
"Ja. You do." Urs replied, coughing slightly and not feeling his eyes fly to the left.
"Urs Buhler! It was you that told her wasn't it, not David at all?"
"N-N-Now Franky. I can explain." Urs informed through his giggles, noticing that Franky was glaring at him playfully as she stalked towards him. "Oh crap!" He continued to laugh as he turned on his heels and ran in the direction of the poolroom, Franky following close behind.
Three laps of the pool later, a still giggling Urs found himself very close to the edge at the deep end and a head-shaking Franky still looking at him playfully. He didn't think he was that close to the edge and it shocked him when he snatched Franky into his arms intent on kissing her, only to feel the pair of them falling into the water, Franky screaming his name on the way down.
Urs's head breached the surface first closely followed by Franky's and they were soon kissing passionately, his hands finding their way under her t-shirt and allowing it to float away once he'd got it off. Hers doing the same to his t-shirt, the two of them continuing to kiss until they both needed to take a deep breath.
"Does this mean I'm forgiven for letting you think it was David all this time?" Urs asked with a cheeky grin.
"Considering how long you've been waiting to see that particular dream of yours come true............yes, you're forgiven." Franky nodded, her fingers working at undoing his belt until the sound of the front door slamming shut stopped her. "Oh crap!"
"You can say that again." Urs growled then coughed to compose himself.
"What you doing Papi?" Ciara's voice questioned from close by and Urs turned to see her standing not far from where he and Franky had fallen in. "You practising life-saving again?"
"Ja, Cici. Practising life-saving again." He nodded in response, knowing that this was the third time this week their youngest daughter had found the two of them in the pool like this while Franky giggled behind him.
Two weeks later he repeated what he'd heard on the Cadiz video to Carlos and smiled once he'd translated.
"Lo que no daría yo por ver que la belleza de baile flamenco, hey Casimiro?"

Chapter 116 - Down And Out
Where he'd been. Where he was now he didn't know. His head felt fuzzy, clouded. He couldn't think straight, couldn't swallow, couldn't move a single, solitary part of his body. The only thing he was capable of was hearing and feeling. Someone was there, holding his hand tightly, stroking his face and talking to him. The voice familiar, recognising the muffled pleadings coming from Franky over the constant beeping. Trying to open his eyes and squeeze her hand each time she asked him. Cursing in every language he knew when they refused to move.
'Why can't I move? What happened to leave me so weak I can't even open my eyes?'
The thoughts were barely out of his head when he heard a door opening and listened to whoever had come in speak to Franky.
"How's he doing?"
'David. Tell me what happened. Where am I? Why can't I move my legs? Gott please don't let me be paralysed.'
"I don't know." Franky returned with a sniff. "How's Carlos?"
'Carlos! What happened to Carlos?! Tell me.'
"He's fine, back at the hotel now the doctors are satisfied he's over the worst of the concussion. He wanted to come with me until BJ reminded him that he'd been ordered to rest."
"Have they found out why that lighting gantry collapsed yet?"
"Yeah. Fatigue on the cables that held it in place. It's no-one's fault you know, they can't account for every possibility."
"I know. I just wish it had happened after you had all left the stage." Franky sniffed again. "How are the fans that got hurt?"
"They're all right. One has a broken arm, one a few stitches, the other three just bumps and grazes. They were all more concerned about Urs and Carlos than themselves when Seb and I went to see them . A couple of them even asked how you were doing." David informed, blowing out a long breath before taking another deep breath. "I can't believe we would probably have lost both of them if Urs hadn't realised what was happening and pushed Carlos off the stage."
"I wish he'd made it too. It was so hard witnessing the accident and having to stand back while EMTs and God knows who else worked at getting him out from under that thing."
"Yeah, I know."
'Gott! I remember now. We'd just finished singing 'Angelina' when I heard the cables break and looked up. No-one else appeared to have heard them giving out and I saw that Carlos and me were standing directly underneath the frame as it began to fall. I must have moved very quick and I can remember hearing Franky's shouting my name above the commotion. So, if I was pinned under the metalwork, I must be in hospital. I wonder how bad I was hurt? Can't be that bad 'cos I'm not in any pain, not much anyway'
"Franky, why don't you go back to the hotel and get some rest. You've spent almost all of the last three days here with Urs. The kids are asking for you."
'Three days?! Why?'
"In a little while. Five more minutes?"
"Okay. Five more minutes. If you don't go after that Lauren said she's coming in to drag you out."
"I'm being selfish aren't I?"
'No. You're not. Don't you think like that. You hear me Francesca Buhler? I wish you could. I wish there was such a thing as telepathy.'
"No. I don't think so and neither does anyone else. But you're not doing yourself any favours sitting here, waiting for him to wake up when they only reduced his sedation an hour ago. I told you I would stay with him and call you when he started to come round."
"I know, I just........"
'Sorry David, I would prefer to see Franky's face smiling down at me rather than your ugly mug, thanks all the same. If only my I could get my damned eyelids to move.'
"Do I need to remind you they said it might take him some time to show any signs of coming round?"
'That explains a lot then.'
"No. I just thought he wouldn't take that long."
"I know." David sighed again and Urs pictured him giving Franky a comforting hug while she cried.
He could feel the sting of tears in his eyes but for some reason they refused to fall. He tried to force them, knowing that Franky was probably watching him very closely for any sign that he was on his way back to her.
'Verdammen hand! Do something to let her know you can hear her. Bitte!'
"Urs!"
'Ha! That did it.'
"What was it Franky?"
"The ring and little finger. I'm sure I felt them move a little. Go and get his doctor. I'm not leaving until I know for sure."
'And you call me stubborn.' Urs laughed in his head and tried to open his eyes again when he felt Franky moving to sit on the bed, her hand touching the left side of his face while David hurried from the room.
"I know for sure you can hear me now. Please do something to let me know I'm not wrong honey."
'Okay. I'll try. Here goes nothing.'
Slowly, seemingly millimetre by millimetre, Urs managed to open his eyes, having failed in his previous attempt. He knew they weren't fully open because Franky's smiling, tear-streaked face looked very hazy.
"Thank God. I knew I wasn't dreaming." He heard her sniff when he managed to squeeze her hand again. "Hey you? How's my hero?"
Urs shrugged, gave her quick nod and tried to swallow again, but found he couldn't because it felt like there was something down his throat. A quick glance down to his mouth brought a tube into view and there was something across his mouth. His eyes immediately flew back to Franky's, hoping that she would understand that he was questioning why it was there while he listened to the steady beep of a heart monitor.
"It's okay. They had to put you on a ventilator after they operated to remove a blood clot from your brain. Don't try to fight it." She instructed, touching his face while he tried to do what she'd asked of him. It was hard but somehow he managed to remain calm and didn't fight against the tube that was obviously there.
"You've been under very heavy sedation since the accident. You cracked your pelvis too, they had to strap your lower half down to stop you moving around. You're on strong painkillers too, that's why you can't feel any pain. I don't know what's been going through your head while you've been under, but you wouldn't keep still."
'Me neither. Can't remember.' Urs thought giving her a slow blink and feeling her fingers wiping the tears from his cheeks, his vision now clearer, able to see how tired and dishevelled she looked. 'Sorry.'
"You don't need to apologise honey. I know you reacted without thinking of the consequences. I can't be angry at you for doing that because Carlos would be dead if you hadn't done what you did and you would have carried that guilt for the rest of your life if you had survived. I know that."
Urs nodded slightly and squeezed Franky's hand as David returned with his doctor.
"Hey buddy. Good to see you awake." David informed with a grin from the bottom of the bed though his eyes held tears.
Urs nodded again and returned to looking at Franky while the doctor gave him a thorough examination.
"Okay. I'm going to remove the breathing tube. I just need you to understand that if you can't breath by yourself for more than a minute, I'm going to have to put it back in until you're a lot more with it."
Urs nodded that he understood and closed his eyes as the doctor set about his task. He could feel Franky shaking and held her hand much tighter, making her wince a little. He gave a cough when instructed to do so and lay there for a while, breathing completely on his own.
"What happens now doc?" David asked after releasing the breath he'd been holding thoughout the entire procedure.
"We'll keep you here for a day or so then you'll be transferred to another part of the hospital until your pelvis has healed. That involves complete bed rest. Do I make myself clear? No even attempting to get out of bed."
"Not even to use the bathroom?"
"No, absolutely NOT!"
"I understand." Urs nodded, swallowing the sip of water Franky had helped him take while the doctor spoke. "What about my voice?"
"I'll get the ENT consultant to come up and take a look at your vocal chords. I don't think we did any damage, but we'd better be on the safe side. My wife would never forgive me if I didn't."
"Thank you. How long have I got to stay here?"
"Several weeks I'm afraid. At least four."
"What? Shit!" Urs huffed and immediately felt Franky squeezing his hand, calming him down. "I'm sorry. I'll do as I'm told."
"For once in your life." David muttered, making Franky laugh and watching her head nod.
"You're just as bad so don't even go there." Urs scowled playfully at Franky before asking David to leave so they could have a few moments alone. "I suppose there's a catheter down there again and it's going to have to stay there?"
"Until you're mobile again, yes."
"Shit!" Urs huffed having hated seeing one when he'd had Septecemia and the thought of having to have one there for the next four weeks. "I'm sorry for putting you through this. I tried to follow after Carlos. Think I tripped, at least that's how I remember it."
"I know. You did trip, over your own feet. It's all right." Franky nodded, feeling his hand on her face and allowing him to pull down into a kiss. "I was so scared when I heard you scream and saw you pass out when they finally lifted the framework off you, all I wanted to do was to be by your side. They wouldn't let me on stage or ride with you in the ambulance, there were so many people trying to help, secuirty were given orders to hold everyone back, me and BJ included. We all ended up piling into the people carrier. I'm just glad the children weren't there to see you like that."
"So am I." Urs nodded, his face and fingers now buried deep in Franky's untidy hair, tears running freely down both of their faces. "I can't remember much of anything after I pushed Carlos anyway. Guess that's a good thing. I suppose it's all over the website and press?"
"It made headline tv news here in Chicago. There wasn't anything that could be done to stop it and David said there have been thousands of messages posted on the website, so many in fact that it crashed the first day. There haven't been any complaints about the four remaining concerts being cancelled."
"Hmn. I guess the guys have received loads of emails too."
"Probably, though neither of them have said anything. I don't even think they've logged on since that night."
"I suppose they had to shave my head for the surgery?"
"Just a little, at the back. No-one will ever know though because the rest of your hair will cover the bald patch until it grows again." Franky informed with a sniff after removing her head from Urs's shoulder and guiding his left hand to the back of his head where he'd had surgery. "Not that I care either way. You're alive, that's all that matters. You know that."
"I know and I'm glad I woke up to find you here with me this time." Urs replied, shaking his head and wiping her face. "You go back to the hotel now angel. The kids need you more than I do. I need to rest and so do you. I know David's on the phone right now telling Carlos and Seb I'm awake. They'll come running. I know that too."
He watched Franky take a few moments to compose herself and straighten her rumpled clothing, then closed his eyes and kept them that way while they kissed, exchanging 'I love yous' as they seperated. With one last turn of her smiling face over her shoulder, she left his room to head back to the hotel with David.
He barely had ten minutes to himself before Carlos and Sebastien arrived, crossing the threshold together. Carlos swallowing hard while they hugged and he thanked Urs for saving his life. Urs shaking his head before explaining to both men what would be happening to him and listening to them explain how many emails they'd each received. Both of them agreeing to his request to make sure Franky got enough rest after telling him there was no need for him to have made it in the first place.
He watched them leave after about twenty minutes and felt the sting of tears again, wishing that his mother could be there, knowing that she had undergone a serious operation the morning of his accident and would be in no state to travel for a long time. His eyes flying wide when the door opened again to reveal Lars making his way in and allowing his brother to hug him for much longer than he had Carlos and Sebastien.
"I'm staying until you're back on your feet again." Lars informed with sniff as he took a seat. "Duracell isn't going to be able to cope with looking after the kids and being here for you as well. Gott knows she's had a tough time of it these last three days, dealing with the press and fans that've been keeping a vigil outside. You should have seen some of their faces when she asked management to make sure they were all fed at her expense."
"How many are there?"
"At least a hundred now." Lars shrugged. "There were more the first night, according to David most of the audience turned up. Police and security had to deal with a couple of reporters who managed to sneak in, but otherwise they've been fantastic."
"But she's getting the rest she needs now?"
"After we'd had a few words." Lars laughed. " It was all I could do to get her to go to bed when she got back to the hotel. I err........took this before I left." He shrugged, pulling out his mobile and showing Urs the picture he'd taken.
"Thanks." Urs half-laughed, half cried after seeing a photograph of Franky asleep on the bed with all their children snuggled up around her. "How's Mami?"
"Sore, but doing very well. They're discharging her tomorrow. Joelle, Lianna and Merle are going to be taking it in turns to look after her."
"Good. Now if you don't mind I'm going back to sleep. You don't have to stay with me."
"I know. I want to. You just shut up and dream about riding your Harley with Franky behind you."
"Hmmn. It's been a long time since we did that. That's the first thing I'm going to do when I get out of here, providing I'm strong enough of course."
"Urs! Shut up and go to sleep." Lars instructed and heard his little brother laugh as his eyes closed and he drifted off again.

Chapter 117 - Getting The @#/! Outta There
"Rough night?" Urs asked on seeing Franky walk into his hospital room looking more tired than he'd ever seen her, watching her drop down hard into the seat by his side.
"Yeah. Jordi's had a stomach bug. He's been throwing up all night, seems to be all right now though. According to the hotel doctor anyway."
"And only wanted you I'm guessing, like he always does when he's ill?"
Franky smiled and nodded, feeling him take hold of her hands and squeeze gently.
"Then why didn't you let Lars come and help me get out of here?"
"'Cos I'm stubborn."
"So he offered then?"
"Three times, besides which I know how you are about going anywhere in a wheelchair."
"I can manage on the crutches." Urs retorted at her playful teasing, nodding at the offending items while she rolled her eyes backwards.
"I know. God knows I've seen you showing off with how fast you can move on them the past week. However, it's a long walk down to the main entrance, don't want you exhausting yourself before you get there. Hospital policy anyway."
"Main entrance? I thought we agreed I was leaving through a side entrance."
"No we didn't. You said you were." Franky nodded sharply. "There are still a few fans wanting to see for themselves how you're doing."
"They don't believe what you've told them?"
"I'm not saying that. I recognised a few faces from the arena, they were on the front row, saw everything. Two of them were among the group that held me back after the lighting rig fell. Remember I told you there were live wires everywhere?"
"I remember." Urs nodded, knowing that it she'd told him that it had taken technicians a while to cut the power so that paramedics could get to him.
Though he couldn't remember it happening, he'd also been told that he'd been shocked once and had the mark on his left forearm to prove it, though that was fading now. The mere thought of that happening to Franky sent a shiver down his spine and he shuddered violently.
"Guess I owe them a thank you then?"
"I guess so." Franky nodded and handed him the bag she'd arrived with. "Want me to pack while you get dressed?"
"Nein, there's not much left anyway."
"And you call me stubborn."
Urs laughed, eased himself to a seated position and carefully removed the pyjama bottoms he was wearing. It took some time for him to put what Franky had brought for him on and he still had to move carefully, not too quickly because his body would receive a quick reminder of what had happened to him. What normally took him about two minutes took him more than four times that and he blew out a long breath once he was done. With his hair tied back and his remaining items packed, he was ready to leave the brightly coloured room.
"Feel like you've been in prison for the last few weeks don't you?"
"Ja." Urs nodded slowly. "Didn't think it would be so bad, but lying there for four weeks, unable to do anything at all except stare at the ceiling, watch Gott knows what crap on tv or look at those boring pictures at night, I began to wonder if I would ever get out. Good job you brought me all those magazines and my iPod in and that the room's bigger than a prison cell. I would definitely go ga-ga in a room that small. I was so happy the first day they took me out and down to the pool for physio you know?"
"I know. I thought you were never going to get out."
"Didn't want to because it was the first time I wasn't in that much pain........until you said you were staying that night anyway."
"Then you couldn't get out quick enough."
"Talking of which. I guess you can have this back now." Urs replied, laughing and nodding, tossing her old Nickelback t-shirt over his shoulder.
"Smells more like you than me now."
"That'll soon change. I'm hiring someone to help me with my exercises when we get home You have enough to do already."
"Okay. That might be a good idea actually." Franky sighed, then moved to sit beside him looking a little sad at the news he'd just delivered.
"I'm sorry I didn't consult you first."
"Don't be silly. You're right. As long as I can help out once in while."
"Well I'll need someone to help me in and out of bed and the shower won't I?"
"Yeah. And you'll enjoy every second of that." Franky laughed and shook her head when Urs nodded with a Cheshire Cat grin on his face. "Thank you."
"What are you thanking me for, dummyhead?" Urs shook his head and took hold of her hand. " I haven't done anything special. You're the one who's been here every day, encouraging me forward. Thank you."
Wanting to kiss her standing upright rather than sitting down, he reached for the crutches, eased himself upright, wincing a little as he did so. Feeling weaker on the right side than on the left, he kept hold of the right crutch and laid the left one on the bed. Knowing that he'd been told he shouldn't pull Franky up into his arms, he held a out his left hand and smiled as she stood and stepped into his embrace.
Feeling elated to be holding her this way again, the feeling of her arms around his neck making him sigh out a long breath, he simply kept her there for few moments then lowered his mouth to hers. Their kisses, soft and tender to begin with and just beginning to become more intense as the door opened and a coughing orderly came in with a wheelchair.
Urs let Franky finish the last of his packing while he lowered himself into the wheelchair and insisted she place the heavy bag on his lap before they left the room. The only thing he would allow her to carry was the sturdy but lightweight crutches.
"Gonna have your hands full with this one Franky." The orderly teased, pushing Urs down the corridor.
"She's always had her hands full with me." Urs nodded, laughing a little and watching Franky smile and nod in agreement.
Pausing at the nurses station, Urs thanked all those on duty who'd taken care of him for the last few weeks, with kisses on the cheek and autographs for those who'd wanted them but hadn't dared ask. With a thank you from Franky and an exchange of hugs, he was pushed towards the lift then out to the main entrance once they were on the ground floor.
"I thought you said there were a few." Urs stated to Franky, his eyes wide he saw about thirty women and a couple of men outside.
"There were twice as many yesterday." Franky shrugged.
Urs nodded then turned his attention to the crowd, thanking the ladies who'd helped Franky with a kiss and assuring everyone that he was well, though still very sore, that no damage had been caused to his vocal chords and that he couldn't wait to start work on the new album.
To his and Franky's surprise, Lars pulled a rental car to a stop a few minutes later and helped his brother settle in the front seat once he'd put the luggage in the boot.
"You're not the only one who can pull a surprise you know?" Lars stated to a shocked looking Franky as he started the Mercedes.
"Sorry. Surprise?"
"You'll find out when we get to the airport, Urs." Lars nodded, smiling and refusing to say any thing else.
Urs grumbled playfully throughout the whole journey to the airport and wasn't that surprised to see Simon's jet waiting to take him home to England, the children already aboard and securely strapped in, Saskia entertaining them with a guessing game. It wasn't until they were flying high over Chicago that Franky kissed him then revealed her surprise.
"We're not going home to England, we're going home to Switzerland. So that you and your mother can spend a little time together. I know how worried you've been since Lars told you she had to go back in because of an infection."
Urs could only shake his head, wondering how Franky had known that he was worried about his mother when he hadn't even vocalised it and knowing how much happier she would be when she saw him, Franky and her grandchildren.
"Thank you angel." He sighed after taking hold of her hand and kissing the back of it.

Chapter 118 - Well Convalesed :-)
Urs let out a contented sigh as he removed his crash helmet and watched Franky dismount from behind him. He felt a little sore on his right side, but assured himself that it was nothing a long, hot bath couldn't ease. He grinned, knowing that all the children were at his mother's home and dismounted the Harley. He looked out over the lake then followed Franky into the house where he found her in the kitchen, inspecting the small wound on the back of her right hand.
"So much for no more scars huh?" She shrugged as he took hold of the same hand and kissed it.
"You know I would have punched him myself if I had been in any condition to do so."
"I know. I'm not blaming you. It just pisses me off that people assume someone is gay just by looking at them. That really makes my blood boil."
"I know." Urs nodded, recalling that the physio-therapist he'd hired to help him in his recovery had assumed he was gay and had pinned him up against the lounge room wall once Franky had left the house to pick up some groceries.
He shuddered recalling the hate and venom that had come spewing from his mouth, saying that all gays should be killed. He'd tried with every once of strength he possessed to fight Josef off only for his back to give him a reminder of the pain he was stil in. A few seconds later he'd been thrown to the floor and had almost been kicked in the gut, luckily he'd turned over just in time, Josef's right foot barely grazing up his right arm.
That had made Josef even angrier and he'd grabbed Urs, dragging him to his feet and lifting him a few inches of the ground. He'd hadn't been hit him again, but had crumpled to the floor in heap and had raised his head to see Josef on his knees, holding his manhood in both hands, moaning in pain while Franky's right fist connected hard with his face.
She'd angrilly ordered him out of the house and he'd gone, then she'd turned her attention back to Urs. Squatting in front of him and checking him over before helping him to his feet. He'd held her and apologised, asked why she'd come back and listened to her explain she'd forgotten her mobile before he noticed the wound Josef's teeth had caused to her hand.
She'd immediately headed for the bathroom to clean and dress the wound but had said she was certain she was going to be left with at least one scar. Now, ten days later it looked like she was going to be right. Urs closed his eyes and let out a long, nasal breath.
"Hey! It's not your fault." Franky sighed, her right hand touching his face reassuringly.
"I know. I'm just.........Urgh! I just thought it would be less hassle hiring a man. I'm sorry."
"Stop apologising, dummyhead. You weren't to know he was homophobic. Even I liked him when I first met him. And most ladies are respectful when it comes to our relationship."
"I know that." Urs smirked then started laughing which caused Franky to look at him questioningly. "Heidi didn't fancy me anyway."
"I know you're drop dead gorgeous, but you're not to every woman's cup of tea you know?"
"I know. And you're not getting what I'm trying to say."
"Huh?!" Franky's brow furrowed again, then her eyes widened after a few minutes thought. "Oh you mean she........me?"
"Uh-huh!" Urs informed, wrapping his arms around a slightly stunned Franky's waist and pressing his nose against hers. "Not that I blame her. You still make my heart skip a beat when you blush like you are now."
"You are......" Franky laughed just before her mouth was claimed in a deep, passion filled kiss. "Hmmn. Before we get down and dirty, we'd better have something to eat. We haven't had much all day and we have until ten tomorrow morning to be alone."
"Not long enough." Urs pouted, reluctantly releasing his hold and watching Franky head for the kitchen before following after her.
Once in theew, he prepared a salad and garlic bread while Franky made Spaghetti Bolognese. With it being a warm night and Urs no longer taking strong painkillers, they headed out to the varanda to eat their meal with a bottle or red wine. While they ate, the recalled the bike ride they'd taken, Urs watching Franky's smile broaden when she remembered the two of them taking the helmets off and riding for a couple of miles on a quiet stretch of road, each of them enjoying the feeling of the wind in their hair
The meal finished, they set their plates aside and sat cuddled up watching a young couple skiing on the lake while they finished the wine.
"What's up?!" Franky asked, looking at Urs when let out a disappointed sounding sighing
"Nothing. Just spotted a couple of grey hairs." Urs teased her, indicating where at the top of her head.
"Perhaps so, but the day I have as many as you, I will get it dyed. Chocolate brown."
"Damn well won't and that's still not funny."
"My hair." Franky retorted, giggling while she watched Urs heading inside to look in a mirror, searching through his hair for what she'd mentioned and roaring with laughter when his eyes flew wide after finding them hiding behind his left ear. "Hey! Considering what we've been through since we met, it's a wonder we're not both completely white haired. I could give a damn anyway. I think it makes you a rather distinguished looking forty-something."
"Sweet talker."
"That's why you married me."
"Ja. That was best thing I've ever done and ever will do." Urs replied, claiming her mouth again, holding her tight against him, letting her feel what stood already rock hard between his legs, straining against the jeans he wore, his hands finding their way under her t-shirt.
Kissing gently, cloth barriers were slowly removed and they were soon making love on the couch, Urs taking his time to drive Franky to the first and second of three climaxes, his mouth covering her moans of ecstacy. Her back arching as high as ever, her nails raking gently down his back as he thrust into her one last time and spilled everything he had into her rapidly clenching cavern.
"See......Told you I was more than ready." Urs informed teasingly once he'd collapsed on top of her was being held in her embrace.
Franky sighed contentedly, kissed his right cheek then gasped when they both heard a loud cracking noise, underneath them. They both stood quickly, looked at the couch then cracked up laughing when they saw that the rugged piece of furniture had collapsed at the end where most of their body weight had been.
"You know........" Urs began, struggling to compose himself. "I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has, considering the number of times the two of us have made love on it." He finished, flashing the Cheshire Cat grin at Franky, making her blush.
Franky said nothing while they re-dressed but she did as she headed towards the kitchen to fill the dishwasher.
"You are getting very naughty in your old age, Urs Buhler."
"Ja I know." Urs nodded, still grinning as he watched her move. "And that's all down to the fact I've had a brilliant teacher."

Chapter 119 - Mischievious Angel
"What?" Urs asked as Franky stopped him outside the area where he was to meet with the other three Divos.
"I know the four of you are arguing about what to call the new album, but can't you put that aside for this? Like Seb, Carlos and Davey have? Or is there something else bothering you?" She asked, huffing out a breath.
"I'm sorry, angel. It's not the title so much as.......well I don't think one of the songs works for us as a group. Seb sounds great, but the rest of us......No."
"Which one?"
"Obssession." Urs shrugged and immediately noticed that Franky wrinkled her nose and shook her head. "See, even you agree with me. We've tried it all different ways, but it just doesn't sound right..........it's not us."
"Well I've never interfered, but.......going on what I heard in the music room......No, I agree with you, but that's just my opinion, Urs. You'll work it out honey. Just stop dwelling on it for now.........please?"
Urs nodded after sighing out a breath, then started to walk again only to be stopped mid-stride by David grabbing hold of his arm.
"Something wrong David?" He asked, noticing that he wasn't wearing his usual smile even though he was holding Lauren close to him.
"Yeah. I owe you an apology. That song isn't right for us Urs. I've listened to all our attempts and it's awful. I'm......sorry."
"It's all right." Urs laughed and pulled David into a bear hug for a change. "Now all we've got to do is convince Carlos and Seb."
"No need. I've already done it. Had them at the studio early this morning. Carlos wasn't happy about being woken so early, but I wanted to get this sorted. He couldn't stop laughing after listening to the whole song, it's a good job he went to the bathroom before he did."
"And Seb?"
"Much the same reaction. Though he almost fused the control panel when he sprayed coffee over it. He was still laughing when we left."
"Okay, so what are we going to put in its place?"
"We can talk about that next week mon ami." Sebastien replied from his left side, holding Emma's hand.
"There is being plenty of time to replace it. Simon is not wanting to hear our latest effort for over month." Carlos continued with a shrug, Barbara-Jean holding his hand.
"Okay, same goes for the title I suppose?" Urs nodded, frowning slightly.
"Yeah, let's get this thing over with first. I've got a couple of ideas already. I ain't telling you until next week though, you can bug me all you like. I don't want to say until I've mulled them over a bit more."
"Okay fine."
"What?!" Three Divos exclaimed at the same time, looking at Urs wide-eyed and open-mouthed, knowing that he liked to have the album title decided long before they'd finished recording it.
"Come on guys, is not like it's the first time." He laughing replied over his shoulder because he was walking again.
He and a giggling Franky reached the door they'd been heading for first and her held it open for her as always. Carlos followed him, doing exactly the same for Barbara-Jean, followed by Sebastien and Emma with David and Lauren bringing up the rear.
"There you are gentleman. We were just about to come looking for you, you are little late." The host of the event informed as he shook the men's hands and kissed the women's cheeks. "Not that there's any need to be concerned, our guest of honour will be delayed for a while. His PA just called to let us know the limo has suffered a puncture. So if you'd like to mingle with your associates for a while and enjoy a glass of champagne......" He continued, indicating the other music industry stars in the room and the smartly dressed waiters.
Everyone nodded, took a glass from the offered tray and moved a little further into the room, each couple heading off in their own direction once someone had grabbed their attention.
"Hi Urs. Long time no see."
"Hello again, Leona. Ja it's been a while." Urs replied, accepting the kiss on the cheek Leona Lewis offered. "Love the new album by the way. We both do."
"Thank you. How are you doing after your accident, Urs?"
"Fine. I've healed very well. Franky took very good care of me as usual."
"So I heard, from your sister Joelle." Leona nodded. "Are you all right, Franky?"
"Me? I'm fine. Urs sent me to a health spa for a couple of days once his doctor was happy he'd recovered enough."
"Just two days? After all those weeks?"
"I did try to make her go for week, but she wasn't having it. You have no idea how stubborn she can be." Urs informed, laughing and pulling a smiling Franky close to him. "Not that I'm complaining you understand?"
"Of course I do."
"I'm sorry to interupt, but I need to leave for a little while." Franky informed, giving Urs the straight-lipped smile that always let him know she was in need of the bathroom. "Won't be long." She nodded, gave him a quick kiss on the cheek then promptly disappeared.
"So, what did you find the most embarrassing part of the process?" Leona asked, swallowing a mouthful of champagne. "The close-ups or the measuring?"
"Neither really, but if I had to choose........I'd say the measuring, especially since it had to be done so precisely. I wasn't very comfortable with sitting still while they put the finishing touches to the work either. It wasn't easy."
"No, it wasn't. Why is that particular artist blushing?" Leona asked, pointing to her left, indicating a woman who stood chatting to Carlos, her face crimson red.
"That's probably got something to do with what he asked when we were told about this project." Urs giggled.
"Oh?! What was that?"
"He asked her if the figures were.......anatomically correct."
"He didn't?" Leona asked, her eyes flying wide and her hand covering her laughing mouth. "What is he like? You can't take him anywhere can you?"
"Nein, I swear he gets worse with each year that passes."
"Who gets worse with each year?" Carlos's voice in his right ear made Urs startle.
"That would be you." Urs replied, receiving a grin and an eyebrow wiggle in response. "Something wrong?"
"Si, Barbara-Jean went to the bathroom a few minutes ago and she's not back yet. It is being unlike her to take this long."
"Funny you should say that. Lauren's been gone a while too." David informed to Urs's left.
"Emma aussi." Sebastien nodded, craning his neck to look around the packed room in the hope of seeing his wife.
"Something hinky is going on here."
"You don't think they'd try to sneak a peek do you, David?"
"Lauren wouldn't, not by herself anyway, Seb. We all know who would persuade her and the other two to do so though, don't we Urs?"
"Ja. Ja we do." Urs laughed and shook his head then went in search of the host and told him what he thought Franky, Lauren, Barbara-Jean and Emma were up to somewhere in the world famous London venue.
"They wouldn't, would they?" Thomas Womack asked, laughing and shaking his head.
"If my wife has anything to do with it, ja they would. She's been desperate to see my figure since I told her it was finished. Don't think she quite believes that even I haven't see it yet."
"Don't worry about it. She's not the first. Let's go and see we can stop them shall we?" Thomas asked then turned to tell his assistant where he was going once Urs had nodded, the woman shaking her head and laughing as they moved away.
Together Il Divo and Thomas left the room and were quickly walking up a long corridor with Thomas in the lead. They turned right at the end, walked a little further then turned left and stepped into the room where four female voices could be heard giggling.
"My God, how many are there?" Barbara-Jean questioned, her voice little more than a whisper.
"You will find out in a few moments Senora Marin." Thomas replied, startling her and her companions, making them whip round to face him.
"Uh-oh! Busted!" Emma giggled, her face bright red.
"I told you this wasn't one of your better ideas." Lauren growled playfully at Franky.
"Oh like I forced you all to come with me." Franky smirked in response. "Sorry." She shrugged at Thomas, a huge grin on her bright red face.
"Hmmn. I should have listened to Simon's PA. She warned me you might try to sneak a peek."
"Ja, she's terrible for that." Urs informed, laughing and shaking his head as Franky moved to his side. "I have to be very inventive when it comes to hiding those special occasion gifts. Don't I?"
"Yep! Keeps you on your toes though doesn't it?"
With his tongue firmly planted in his cheek and smiling, Urs nodded then turned his head to see that Carlos, Sebastien and David were laughing along with Barbara-Jean, Emma and Lauren. Following a quick fit of the giggles, the group headed back to the room and mingled again. Urs kept a very careful eye on Franky while he spoke to Thomas and watched him nod to the suggestion he made.
Simon arrived a few moments later and, following a brief chat with everyone, walked by Thomas's side back down to the room that Franky and the other women had been caught in, laughing and shaking his head once Thomas had told him what had happened. Once everyone was inside and comfortably gathered around the large podium, Thomas gave a little speech, welcoming them all to a very special display in Madame Tussauds, the biggest project ever undertaken in honour of one person and asking Simon to reveal his new waxwork first.
Simon stepped forward, quickly removed the cloth that covered his figure and nodded his approval before taking a seat next to it, folding his arms in the same way and with the same stoic expression on his face. He remained that way while a few photographs were taken, then stood and watched as the other figures were introduced. Each and every masterpiece of his greatest successes being greeted with a gasp and round of applause as the cloth hit the floor.
Finally, it was Il Divo's turn but instead of introducing them together as planned, Thomas introduced them individually. Sebastien first, his eyes flying wide and head shaking when he saw his own eyes staring back at him. Carlos almost swearing, amazed at how good a job the sculptor had made of him, Fernando sitting absolutely perfect on his forehead. David staring at himself for a long time, unable to speak for several minutes, his colleagues giggling because they'd hadn't seen the 'Stunned Goldfish' look on his face for a very long time.
As requested, Thomas introduced Urs last and he stepped forward slowly. As he raised his hand to the cloth, he kept his eyes on Franky and chuckled to himself when she mouthed 'Get on with it'. Inch by slow inch he revealed his figure and saw Franky's eyes fly wide and her right hand fly to cover her mouth long before the cloth hit the floor. He turned to look at himself and shook his head, not quite able to believe the remarkable detail he saw.
"Just like looking in a mirror isn't it buddy?" He heard David questioning after blowing out a breath.
Urs nodded then took a deep breath. Individual photographs were taken once he'd recovered then a few group shots were taken, each man standing proudly behind their figures in the same pose, the four of them having been lined up in front of microphones ready to sing. Personal photographs were allowed to be taken after that and Urs made sure David got one of Franky standing between the human him and the waxwork. The only way you were able to tell which the real Urs being that he returned her loving smile as the photograph was taken.
They spent almost an hour looking at the other figures in the display then decided to head for home, arriving just as the children came home from school or wherever Saskia had taken them. All of them anxious to see what their parents had been up to, stunned at the pictures David emailed Franky. Each and everyone was printed off and placed in a photograph album once the children had told them about the day trip to the Tower of London or how their school day had been.
Two days later 'Obssession' was replaced by 'You Light Up Life' on the album entitled 'Illuminato', both of which had been Urs's early suggestions. Franky, Barbara-Jean, Lauren and Emma crying to varying degrees the first time they heard it, Franky more so than the other three ladies, but only just. This latest album selling quicker than ever upon its release two months later, that particular song becoming the third favourite mobile download from it.

Chapter 120 - There In Spirit
Feeling very disappointed, Urs spent a few moments looking at the one shoulder gown made from a clinging two tone jersey fabric that would have accented Franky's curves perfectly and spent a few seconds fingering the gold chain accent that added a dramatic touch to the dress. He sighed out a long, slow breath then quietly zipped up the bag he'd opened a few seconds before. He checked himself in the mirror, straightened his tie then turned to look at the pain wracked woman on the bed, hoping that she would fall asleep once he had left.
He walked over to the nightstand, checked that the painkillers were there and she had a glass of water to take them with if needed. He looked down to the floor and nodded when he spotted the bowl didn't have anything in it right now, though it probably would by the time he got back later in the evening. She usually threw up at some point when suffering a migraine. He couldn't help but allow a small laugh to escape when he looked towards the dozing form on the bed. She did look quite silly with the large, slightly frozen and damp towel wrapped around her head and the cool damp cloth over her eyes. He heard her moan a little, realised he'd forgotten to open the window as she'd requested and moved to do it, but only a little. He sighed out one final deep breath then moved to place a kiss on Franky's lips.
"Sleep well angel." He whispered with his eyes closed. "You stubborn......so and so."
Remaining as quiet as he possibly could, he left the bedroom and made for the bathroom. While attending to his needs in there, he thought about how much Franky had been looking forward to celebrating his mother's seventy-fifth birthday this morning, only to come down with a migraine just half an hour before they were to get ready. As usual, she'd felt sick, bright light hurt her eyes, she'd found it hard to concentrate and had experienced tingling in her right arm.
Still she'd tried to tell him she was fine, not giving in to his pleadings to go to bed until she was crying in pain and apologising several times while he helped her undress. He knew she hadn't wanted to disappoint his mother by not attending with him and the children, but he'd been firmer with her than ever before and it had taken him less than a minute to make her lie on the bed. He'd made sure she had all the things she usually had to hand then called his mother to let her know that Franky wouldn't be there tonight, but he and the children would be, especially so because Franky had insisted they had to go and she would need the peace and quiet anyway. Of course, Lorella Buhler had been disappointed, he knew what tone she used to express that well enough, but at the same time she'd completely understood Urs forcing Franky to stay at home.
"Thank Gott she only gets them once in a while." He huffed, zipping up his fly then washing his hands.
He left the bathroom of the Buhler family home and almost shouted when he saw Kurt outside his old room, his right hand raised to the handle.
"What are you doing Kurt?" He snapped quietly, grabbing the little boy and pulling him away.
"I only want make sure Mami okay and kiss her byebye." Kurt pouted in reply.
"I know you do, but Mami needs to sleep and needs quiet. Not you jumping all over her, demanding kisses. I told you that earlier, didn't I?"
"Yes.........Papi. Sorry, Papi."
"It's all right. I know what you're like." Urs smiled, lifting Kurt into his arms and carrying him downstairs.
He smiled on entering the lounge, watching the ever-helpful Merle allow the other children to lay their hands on her five month swollen belly and giggling when Jordi jumped after feeling the baby boy kick. Urs gave the children a final inspection, shaking his head at Francis and Kurt, quickly removing their ties and watching them smile as they relaxed a little. Knowing that they were both wishing they could go to dinner at Chateau Gutsch wearing their jeans and t-shirt rather than the suits they'd reluctantly selected on a recent shopping trip with Franky. He looked the girls over and chuckled quietly when he saw Sylvie dressed in Pink, Serena in Lilac and Ciara in Peach, all of them with their hair braided in various styles.
He looked at Merle and nodded his approval of the black and silver, knee length dress she wore. His smile broadening when her hands moved to her stomach as Henri Flavian kicked again, his head shaking when he remembered the apprehensive look he'd seen on Merle and Moritz's faces when Franky had asked if they'd picked names a few weeks ago. Franky's eyes closing and remaining that way for a few seconds once she'd been told then listening to Moritz explain that his grandfather's middle name had been Flavian and he'd used that all of his adult life because he hated his first name, Nguyen. Both himself and Franky telling him that there was no need to explain their choice, the name wasn't their property.
"About time we were making a move isn't it?" He heard Moritz question and looked at his watch.
"Ja, who's going with you two?"
"Me, Kurt and Serena." Frank informed with a smile as the group made for the front door.
"Oh! That's a surprise." Urs teased, knowing that the twins usually fought over something or other during a car journey if Frank and Kurt weren't bickering back and fourth.
"Well, it's the best option. Saves us wasting time swapping car seats around." Merle laughed, locking up the house and depositing the keys in her handbag.
"Ja, it does. Thanks for coming over to help me.........again."
"You don't need to thank me, Urs. We've been raised to support each other without being asked to do so, haven't we?"
"Ja, we have." He replied, moving over to one of the Lagunas he'd hired for tonight, quickly strapping Jordi in but keeping an eye on the occupants of the other vehicle and giving Kurt a stern look when he tried to clamber into the front passenger seat, despite the fact he knew he wasn't allowed and hearing Franky's voice reminding him of that rather than Merle's.
He shook his head, watched Kurt climb into the back seat and allow Moritz to check his seatbelt once he'd clicked it home. Urs checked that Ciara was secure then slipped into the driver's seat with Sylvie taking the passenger seat. Just as he'd pulled away from the house, his text message alert resounded around the car and he allowed Sylvie to read it.
"Aunt Liana has just left too." She informed with a smile.
Urs nodded, knowing that his mother was with her and had been since just after breakfast. All the women had gone to a beauty spa after handing over gifts and cards and watching the matriach blow out the candles on her birthday cake. He laughed to himself, knowing how sorely tempted he'd been to run his finger through the icing, Franky catching him and telling him not to even think about it and asking Peder to keep an eye on him while she was out having a manicure and pedicure with his mother. He laughed a little harder when he remembered that she'd asked if 'all her boys had been good' when she returned and Peder had replied that they had, 'Urs included'.
He sighed, knowing that Joelle had been planning a party to celebrate their mother's birthday and how upset she'd been when Lorella had gently told her she didn't want a party. All she wanted for this special birthday was her children and grandchildren around to celebrate and had no objection to being taken out to dinner. He grunted a laugh, knowing how much smaller the Buhler family had been the last time they'd eaten at the hotel on the mountain. Just ten of them celebrating the fact Urs had been offered the part in Il Divo, now almost twice that many would be there. Urs knew his mother would probably have a little cry at some point during the meal and it wouldn't be just because Franky wasn't there or that she'd got what she asked for. No, he knew it would be because she would have wanted his father there most of all.
In what seemed like no time at all, the cars were parked, vacated and locked and the family were making their way up to the hotel following hugs and cheek kisses.
"Did Franky manage to get to sleep before you left?" Urs heard his mother questioning as they stepped into the foyer.
"She's was just dozing off when I left the bedroom. Hopefully she has. I don't want her to suffer like last time she had a migraine. Twelve hours of seeing her like that was awful."
"Hmmn. And she calls you stubborn." Lorella smiled, gently patting his face. "You know, I always thought you would marry one day, Urs despite what you said all those years ago. I knew exactly what kind of woman you needed and I am so happy that you found her."
"I know you are, so am I." Urs nodded, returning her smile, then looking around to see where Serena was, his eyes flying wide and shoving Jordi into his mother's arms when he saw her standing near a man, her hand fisted on her hips, the man hopping around on his right leg. "Serena! Apologise right now."
"No."
"I beg your pardon?" Urs asked, surprised at Serena's defiance, knowing that she usually did what she was told without answering back. "I said apologise."
"I won't." Serena huffed again, snorting out a breath.
"Yes you will. What did you kick this gentleman for anyway?" He asked once he ran to where she stood.
"That's the man who called Mami selfish and all of us ugly brats yesterday." Serena huffed, glaring hard at the man while Urs turned towards the person she'd kicked.
"Oh! Well, you still shouldn't have done that. Mami would be very cross with you if she was here, wouldn't she?"
"Yes. Sorry, Papi."
"And what would she being saying?"
"That I had to apologise or........sit on the naughty chair when we got home and what other people thinks doesn't matter." Serena nodded with wide eyes. "Sorry mister."
"So your wife told you what I offered her yesterday?" Urs heard the man questioning and looked at him harshly.
"Of course she did and how many times she told you our children are not interested in modelling, a designer collection or otherwise. Four of them are old enough to make up their own minds despite the fact you think my wife was holding out for a better financial offer or one of her own. Not that it's any of your business, but better offers have been made, we've turned every one down and we don't push our children to do things they don't want to do. My wife does not make any decisions regarding the children without my full knowledge and consent and I suggest you don't bother her with another offer, six times is more than enough. Don't even think of asking me either. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a meal to enjoy with my family."
The man opened his mouth to say something only to stop short when he saw that around forty people were watching him. He swallowed hard, quickly turned on heel and walked away muttering to himself as he went.
"Sorry about that Mami." He grimaced, taking Jordi from her.
"No need to be. It reminded me of the time you did much the same in The Palace hotel, you were little older than Serena but much more defiant. Five times your father had to tell you to apologise."
"What?"
"You don't remember me telling you off for kicking that boy who called Liana fat at Grandmami and Grandpapi's fortieth wedding anniversary dinner?"
"Erm......Nein." Urs shook his head, knowing his eyes had flown to the left and he was blushing a little because he did remember.
"Of course you don't." Lorella laughed, patting his face again.
Moments later, the whole family were seated at a table capable of holding them all, ordering their favourite Swiss dishes, chatting happily, recalling the good times they'd had growing up and since. Lorella enjoying every minute, her eyes filling with tears, knowing how much her beloved Jordi would have enjoyed himself this night, how he would be beaming with pride on seeing how big the family had gotten and how he would be whispering in her ear to let her know how proud he was watching Urs deal with all five of his young children by himself.
It took almost an hour for them to get through the first two courses and Urs asked the waiter if it was possible to have a piece of Swiss Chocolate Mousse Torte boxed up for him to take home. The waiter replied that it was after checking with the maitre d' and Urs allowed Kurt to carry the box once the meal was finished.
By the time he returned to the house, Urs had five very sleepy children to deal with and was glad Sylvie offered to help get them ready for bed and settled down despite her own tiredness. He put the Torte in the fridge, knowing that Franky would share the generously sized portion with him while he told her what had happened the previous evening. He yawned widely, then headed upstairs after locking up for the night. He smiled as he crossed the threshold to the bedroom, not the least bit bothered that Franky was snoring softly, but wondering why she only ever did so when recovering from a migraine and thankful that this time the towel was on the floor and she was now under the sheet.
He stripped down to his boxers, hung up his suit and tossed everything else into the laundry basket before slipping under the covers. He spent a few moments carressing Franky's face and smiling when he remembered her firmly telling him that he had to go tonight, despite the pounding pain in the left side of her head.
"Sleep well angel." He whispered, kissing her forehead again before closing his own tired eyes and joining her.
Wondering how on earth she managed all five children by herself without feeling completely and utterly exhausted every day. Especially if he wasn't around, Saskia had a day off and she'd suffered as she had since five thirty this particular afternoon.

Chapter 121 - Busy Business
Just like he had been at the idea of Franky setting up another garage, he had been wrong about her appointing Blair to manage the place. In the years since it had opened the former owner's reputation had been completely forgotten and it was as busy as the one Gabriel ran. From his vantage point, standing at the glass that shut the office area off from the work area, he could see five bikes being worked on, six awaiting collection and four parked in another area, those vehicles awaiting an insurance loss adjuster's assessment.
Urs looked those four over and quickly formed the opinion that two could be saved, not much damage had been done to them and he could fix them himself. One of the remaining two would require a lot more work, but it was old and he knew it would be a question of whether it was economic to repair that machine if it was ever seen on the road again. The final one was just about recognisable as a motorbike, nothing but a burned out, twisted pile of metal really and destined for the scrap skip Franky kept at the back of the unit in his opinion.
As she had for the last seven months, Alondra lay with her head in one of the worker's laps. The young woman sitting on a bench, smiling as she stroked her temporary companion, though Urs noticed that Michaela kept looking towards the doors, obviously waiting for her instructor to come back from taking the bike she'd helped repair for a test run.
"Just let me have a read of his file, Blair." Urs heard Franky asking and turned his head over his shoulder to see that she'd taken his seat at the table and had an employee's record in her hand.
Blair did as she requested, moved over to where he kept the coffee brewing and quickly filled three mugs. The first he handed placed on the desk in front of Franky, the other two were Urs and himself.
"Thanks." Urs nodded watching Blair cover a long yawn with his left hand. "Are you all right Blair? You look tired."
"That's because I am."
"This problem with Chaz keeping you awake at night?"
"No. I'm sure Franky will agree with my decision." Blair shook his head, swallowed a mouthful of coffee then sighed heavily. "I could do with this going in intravenously." He continued, holding up his mug. "No, that's not the problem at all. Lucy is fed up with being pregnant. Three times we've been to the hospital this week, thinking that Charlotte was finally on her way, only to be sent home a couple of hours later. Lucy's getting really narky, snaps at me all the time over the least little thing. Thank God she's going to be induced on Monday, 'cos I don't want her throwing another saucepan at me because I forgot to empty the dishwasher. It doesn't help that she can't manage to bathe our other two either. I just wish they could've induced her tomorrow."
"Charlotte is what, two weeks late now?"
"Three tomorrow." Blair nodded, yawning widely again. "Weren't too sure about me running this place when Franky suggested it, were you?"
"No. I'll admit it, I wasn't." Urs shook his head before turning to look through the glass again. "But you're doing a fantastic job, better than I thought you would."
"Thanks. Glad I only manage it though and don't have the responsibility of hiring or firing."
"Why did you ask Franky to take that clause out of your contract?"
"Because it's her business and reputation on the line at the end of the day. I didn't want to ruin that. I know she trusts me, but I really felt she should have the final say in that regard."
"Oh, I understand. Sort of." Urs laughed and heard Blair do the same as they turned their heads to the garage entrance when they heard the roar of a motorbike engine approaching. "Isn't that an Ecosse Titanium Series PR?"
"Yup! One of ten ever produced. Want to go and take a look?"
"Nein. I've seen one before. They're nice to look at, but otherwise I'm not keen on them. Hard too handle with them being so light."
"So Max says." Blair yawned again as the two of them watched the young man he'd referred to dismount the ultra expensive bike, walk over to Michaela and give her thumbs up with a smile before giving her a hug.
Just as Blair was about to say something else, his mobile started to ring and he moved a few steps away to talk once he'd checked who was calling.
"Hi Sweetie. You forgot to........Whoa! No need to yell. I ain't deaf..........What?!......Why didn't you say something before I left for work?......Because you thought it was another false alarm! Woman you are........Where are you now?.........Okay.............WHAT?!!! Six centimetres already? Are you sure?..........Okay! Okay!......I'll be there as soon as I can."
"Lucy in labour Blair?" Franky's voice snapped Blair from the stunned silence he'd fallen into after he'd hung up.
"Huh? Erm........Yeah and has been since seven this morning apparently." Blair replied, looking around the office for something and quickly locating his crash helmet. "She's six bloody centimetres already. Where the hell did I put my keys?" He huffed, patting his pockets and revealing nothing there.
"Here as usual." Franky laughed, tossing him the set she'd removed from the drawer of the desk. "Calm down Blair. You've done this twice already. Breathe for God's sake man."
Blair stopped what he was doing and took several deep breaths before he slipped his motorbike jacket on. He thanked Franky, gave her a quick hug then headed for the office door, holding it open and grinning as Alondra trotted in.
"What?"
"You two behave." He replied to Franky's question. "I know you haven't 'christened' this office yet, not like you have the other place."
"How do you know about that?" Franky asked, her eyes wide and mouth gaping.
"I didn't..........until now. See ya!"
"You swine."
Urs laughed as he watched Franky throw the Harley-Davidson motorcycle plush Bulldog toy towards the door, hitting it just as it closed and shaking her head once he'd retrieved it.
"Don't you get any ideas." She coughed, setting the toy back beside the computer screen, her face bright red.
"Spoilsport." Urs teased, leaning over the table, giving her a quick kiss on the lips and hearing her growl as he pulled back. "You've come to decision then?" He continued, trying not to smirk as she settled back in the high back chair, coughed and blew out a long breath.
"Yes, I have." Franky sighed, then turned the computer screen round to face him. "And that's only part of the reason I've reached the decision I have."
"Hmmn. That's not a good record."
"No. I really don't want to do this you know? But I have to. I can't have my other employees upset for the sake of someone who's only been here a few months."
"I know you've never had to do it before, but there's a first time for everything angel."
Urs shook his head, moved away from Franky's desk with her coffee mug in hand. He refilled hers and gave it to her then turned to answer a knock at the door. He watched two males enter, one the young man he knew as Chaz, the other who he'd never met but shaking his hand when he introduced himself as Chaz's father, Darris. He stood back and watched the two men take the seats Franky offered them then listened to the conversation.
"So Franky, have you reached a decision about Chaz?" Darries asked, knocking the young boy's feet down from the table and giving him a harsh look.
"I have Darris. I've considered things very carefully and I'm afraid I really can't have Chaz working here anymore. He's fired."
"Would you mind telling me the reasons? He says Blair placed him on suspension because he hates him."
"Really?" Franky asked, looking at the young man sternly, her head shaking slighty. "Well, I know that's a lie for a start. Anyway..........Let's start with his tardy attitude about getting to work on time shall we?"
"He's been arriving late?" Darris asked, looking stunned. "I don't know how, he's always left in plenty of time to get here before Blair opens up."
"Perhaps so, but he hasn't since the second week of his employment."
"You can't prove that." Chaz huffed, defiantly folding his arms across his chest.
"Can't I? Tell me Chaz, what do you think that little machine is all about, near the door when you come in?"
"I dunno. It just let's you know who's here and who ain't.......isn't. Doesn't it?"
"Yes it does. But it also lets me know what time you arrive and what time you leave. I told you all about it when I agreed to hire you didn't I?"
"Erm........."
"Don't just sit there umming. Did she tell you or not?" Darris asked angrilly.
"She told me, all right."
"Would you like to see his record?" Franky asked, looking at Darris, one hand raised to the computer screen and waiting for him to nod before turning it around.
"My God!" He exclaimed after a few minutes of staring at the computer screen. "An hour late on three succesive mornings, two hours late on four. Hour and a half lunch breaks when you're only contracted to an hour. Two whole days you didn't show up at all. What the hell have you been doing?"
"Stuff."
"I'll give you stuff." Darris shook his head then turned back to look at Franky. "Anything else?"
"I'm sorry to say there is." She nodded in reply, then opened Chaz's file. "Attempting to steal from the storeroom, luckily Max caught him before he could get away with what he'd put in his backpack. A mixture of the standard parts we keep in stock and a couple of special orders. Erm......Swearing at one of my best customers. Making lewd comments at girls that walk past. Do you want me to show your father the CCTV footage Chaz?"
"No." Chaz shook his head, his eyes wide and gulping when his father shot him another hard look.
"Hmmn. As bad as those things are Darris, I'm afraid that's not the worst of it. I told you when I hired him, bullying, be it physical or verbal, will not be tolerated, neither will sexual harrassment."
"I know. I read his contract carefully. Those clauses are standard for virtually every business.." Darris shook his head then let out a sigh before continuing. "What's he been doing?"
"You know Michaela has some mild learning difficulties?" Franky asked, pausing to watch Darris nod his head. "Well Chaz has been calling her names, 'supreme thicko' is one of his favourites. If he's not been doing that he's been tripping her up or pushing her into walls, that sort of thing. And the day Blair suspended him, Max had caught him with Michaela pinned up against the wall out back, attempting to undo her overall."
Urs startled slightly as Darris leapt to his feet and for a moment he thought Chaz was going to be beaten right there in front of his and Franky's eyes. Darris looked absolutely livid, his face was a mask of red, a vein had popped up from nowhere in the middle of his forehead, his fist were balled up and he spent a few seconds visibly shaking before he started to pace back and forth across the office.
"Well! You've fucked up good and proper this time haven't you?!" Darris yelled, standing in front of his quivering son, his hands gripping the arms on either side of the so tight his knuckles turned white. "I've had enough Chaz. It's bad enough that you're a father of two already, but this is the last straw. Your mother and I tried to raise you to respect women and I don't know where we went wrong, but we can't take anymore. I warned you when I asked Franky to take you on that you'd better behave but you've let me down again. For the seventh time. You had the opportunity to work with some wonderful people and gain the knowledge you've always wanted, but instead of thinking with what's in your head, you thought with what lies between your legs yet again. NO MORE CHAZ! THAT'S IT! You can find your own job in future and that motorbike you wanted for your birthday.........You can forget that. The money I would have spent on that is going to Jayne and Shawna so that they can finally get what you've been promising them both for the last six months. Do I make myself clear?"
"Y-Y-Y-Y-Yes.......Dad." Chaz nodded slowly, swallowing hard obviously never having seen his father this enraged. "Are you going to throw me out of the house too?"
"I wanted to. God did I want. Think yourself lucky that your mother persuaded me different. If you weren't our only child there would have been no changing my mind. Now.........get to stepping." Darris instructed, pointing sharply to the door. "And don't even think you're going to get a lift home. You can damn well think about what changes you need to make while you walk home."
"But it's three miles and it's rain.........Yes, Dad."
"I'm really sorry Franky." Darris sighed, dropping back into his seat and running his hands down his face. "Sorry I persuaded you to give him an apprenticeship. I really thought he'd got himself fired from all his other jobs because being a motorbike mechanic was what he's always wanted to be. God, I hope he's learned a lesson now."
"It's all right, Darris. How are Jayne and Shawna coping with the babies?"
"Fine. They both have a lot of support from their parents. Jade turns one next month and Louisa's almost seven months. I'm just glad they allow Tara and me to see them and take them out together." Darris informed, now with a huge smile on his face as he stood and shook Franky's hand before leaving.
"Don't say it." Urs heard Franky instructing once the door had clicked shut and he'd turned round to face her.
"Say what?"
"What you said when I told you I was giving Chaz a chance to fullfil his dream."
"What? Me?" Urs smiled and shrugged as he took a seat, recalling that he'd called her too soft for agreeing to employ the twenty year old after she'd told him about his very poor employment record. "As if I would."
Franky chuckled, shook her head then turned her attention to the door again when Max knocked to inform that the first of four expected insurance agents had arrived. She spent less than five minutes with that particular man and informed Urs that the burned out BMW was destined for the scrap man as she came back into the office. She barely had time to sit down when the next one arrived and agreed that the first bike Urs had spotted could be repaired. The third and fourth arrived just as she began to climb the steps, those two taking much longer in agreeing to the repairs being carried out.
Blair returned just as everyone began to pack up for the weekend, his eyes wide and mouth moving but no words coming out and dropping down hard into his usual seat.
"Blair? Are you all right?" Franky asked while she shut down the computer.
"Huh?......Erm.....Yeah........Yeah, I'm f-f-f-fine. Just erm..........Whatsit? Erm.........Stunned." Blair replied then started laughing. "Oh my God! It's been over two hours and I still can't believe it."
"Believe what?"
"Tw-Tw-Twins, Franky. I just became the father of two beautiful little girls. No wonder Lucy looked bigger than she had over our other two. And dumbass me never believed that 'hidden twin' thing Lucy's mother has always warned me runs through two generations and three branches of her side of the family. Guess Charlotte and Grace showed me, huh?"
"What?"
"Don't look at me like that. Grace was supposed to be Charlotte's middle name. Lucy's always loved the name, but I've never been that keen.....until now. Dad would be so happy if he was here."
"Oh yeah. I forgot that was your great-grandmother's name and she was the only one you ever knew. I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions." Franky nodded, then yanked Blair up into a tight hug and informed him that he could take as long as he needed off work to help Lucy, especially since Max was more than capable of stepping into his shoes.
Blair nodded, resumed his seat and spent the time Franky walked to the door, called Max up and told him the news breathing deep, swallowing hard between each breath.
"Wow! Congratulations." Max laughed, giving Blair a brotherly hug and hard pat on the back before turning his attention to Franky. "Okay. I'm fine with that. Just don't expect to receive the paperwork as neatly organised as him. I ain't that fussy."
"Oh like I didn't know that already." Franky laughed, shaking her head as Max ran from the office. "I wonder why he's in such a hurry. I've never seen him move so fast."
"He's taking Michaela out for dinner tonight." Blair informed with a nonchalant shrug.
"They're seeing each other?"
"Yeah Franky. Have been since a week after she started here. Chaz should think himself lucky Max didn't him a good kicking after he saw what he was trying to do to her. Nothing would have stopped him a few years ago, would it?"
"No. He's changed a lot, really calmed down. Thanks to your guidance."
"Well, you couldn't blame him for having such a bad temper, considering that his father used to beat him, no matter how minor the infraction. I'm glad he's never had the chance to do it again."
"He's still in prison? I could swear his time was up earlier this year."
"It was. Then he goes and beats the crap out of another prisoner and gets sent down again. This time for fifteen years. Not that Max is bothered, he completely cut himself off from his father long before then and he's much better man for it."
"Yeah he is." Franky smiled then took a deep breath.
Urs, Franky, Blair and Alondra left the garage shortly after that and Blair insisted on securing the building. As she had done from the first time she'd been in the Odyssey, Alondra jumped into the seat behind Franky and stuck her head out of the window once it was open enough to do so, barking loudly as Urs drove out of the industrial estate. Urs himself blowing out a breath after finally seeing with his own eyes how busy the garage could get.
The next time they heard anything of Chaz or Charles Winterburn to give him his full name was in Madrid during the next tour when Gloria informed that her great nephew via Karen's father had joined the Royal Marines a few months after he'd been fired by Franky, that he had finally become the man his parents had raised him to be and he had become a responsible and loving father to Jayne and Shawna as well as a gentleman.

Chapter 122 - Bondi Beach Fun
Before he'd met Franky and had children, he'd very rarely spent time at the beach as an adult but he'd agreed to spend the day at Bondi Beach with his family and mother today. His mind flew back to a few years ago as he removed his tracksuit bottoms and placed them on top of his T-Shirt once he'd folded them neatly. Back to the first time Il Divo had been in Australia and only three of them had come to the world famous beach. He'd wanted to go into the water that day, just hadn't been allowed because he'd cut his foot in the shower earlier that morning, it had been shark season, the wound was still seeping blood when they'd arrived, the surf-boarding instructor and management weren't prepared to risk him being attacked, no matter how remote the chances. He'd huffed and grumbled and had spent the entire two hours sitting in the people carrier, sulking.
Now here he was, wearing nothing but a pair of Hawaiian style swim shorts, having a blast with five of his children and their grandmother, despite the fact there was something bothering him. Trying to get what had been happening over the past three days out of his mind, he chased after Frank, quickly picked him up despite his playful protestations and ran into the waves with him, before gently tossing him into the air to disappear under the water for a few seconds.
"Again!" Frank shouted, stomping towards him and giggling.
"You know how it works Frank." Urs replied, picking Kurt up and tossing him into the foam, followed by Serena then Ciara.
Urs laughed heartily, thankful that neither of them were bothered about being treated this way. In fact they loved it and were soon standing back in front of him, demanding more. Beginning to ache after tossing each child six times, Urs shook his head and suggested another game as he looked back up to the sand where Franky sat with Jordi standing in front of her, still defiantly refusing to let her put his floatation aid on judging by the way he had his little arms folded across his chest.
"You can stand there looking at me like that all day for all I care, Jordi. You are not going to join in the fun until this is on and that's final." Franky informed, holding up the vest she expected him to wear, just like his brothers and sisters.
"Grandmi, tell her." Jordi huffed, looking at his grandmother woefully.
"Oh nein. You do as Mami says. I don't tell Mami what to do, just like I don't you unless Mami and Papi aren't around. Do I?"
"No." Jordi sniffed, his head shaking slightly and rubbing at his eyes with heels of his hands, Urs knowing that a stern word from Lorella always made Jordi cry. "I sorry Mami."
Franky nodded, held her arms wide and gave their youngest a quick hug as she locked eyes with Urs. Eyes that pleaded with him to stop allowing what had happened earlier this morning to bother him as she slipped the vest over Jordi's head. He smiled, nodded his agreement to her unspoken request and pushed that event to the back of his mind as Jordi came running towards him. Knowing that he wasn't quite as confident in the water as his siblings, Urs picked him up, swung him around then quickly disappeared under the waves with him for a second or two.
"Yay! I did it Mami." Jordi yelled, arms out wide as they came back up together and launching himself into her arms.
"I saw you. I knew you could do it. Clever boy." Franky smiled, tweaking Jordi's nose then turning her attention to Urs. "Having a good time?"
"Nein. I'm having a blast." Urs replied, placing a quick kiss on her lips before turning his attention to Ciara who was tugging on his shorts.
"What's this Papi?" She asked holding up what she'd obviously found while her parents had been talking.
Urs looked at what she held and felt his eyes widen when it he saw that it wasn't one thing she'd found, it was two, joined together. Mating.
'Uh-oh. You're stuck now aren't you?' His inner voice teased, knowing that only Sylvie knew about the birds and the bees at the moment.
"Erm......Snails, Cici. Sea snails more than likely." He informed, dreading what was going to come out of her mouth next.
"Are they stuck together like that for life? Was they born that way? Like those people we saw in that book of human oddities Grandmami showed us?"
"Errr.........Nein. I don't think so."
"Then why they stuck together like that?" Ciara pressed, the rest of the children now gathered around her, looking to Urs for an answer.
"They're erm...........Making babies."
"Oh! So one of them is going to get a big belly, like Mami did with all of us?" Kurt queried, taking the snails from Ciara's hand and giving them a good inspection.
"No, Kurt. Snails lay eggs, like chickens do, just not so big." Urs informed, squatting down and taking hold of what Kurt held, thankful that the conversation had changed tack. "And lots of them too."
"How many?"
"Anything from twenty to fifty, Seri."
"Wow! I hope I don't have that many in one go when I grow up."
"You cant' have babies stu......silly." Serena tutted at Kurt. "Only lady animals have babies."
"That's not true with all animals Serena. Male seahorses have the babies remember?"
"Oh yeah! I forgot about that, Mami."
"It doesn't matter. You were a lot younger then." Franky shook head, lowered Jordi to his feet and let him have a hold of the snails for a seconds once Frank and Sylvie had given them a good inspection. "Go and put them back where you got them from Cici."
Ciara nodded, walked a few feet away and gently placed the snails back on the sand rather than dropping them from a height and wished them both good luck with their babies before returning to her giggling parents. Still chuckling, Urs turned his head to see what his mother was doing and was very surprised to see her with a camcorder in her hands, having never seen her operate one before. He returned her smile then noticed that a jeep was pulling to a stop close to her.
"What do you think he wants with Mami?" Urs asked Franky, watching a tanned and well-toned young man speak to his head nodding mother.
"I have no idea."
Wanting to know what was going on, Urs started to move towards Lorella only to stop dead in his tracks after three strides when she raised her right hand requesting him to do so. He watched her and the young man approach then shrugged when his mother shook her head at him.
"Am I not allowed to treat my grandchildren once in a while?" She asked, arms folded across her chest, looking at him with questioningly with her eyes, the smile on still on her face. "This is Greg. I hired him to give the little ones a surfing lesson."
"Oh, right. Sorry Mami." Urs laughed then shook the hand Greg offered. "Are they all old enough?"
"My old man says you're never too young to learn. He should know, I was on a board before I was three." Greg replied with huge, bright white smile.
"That's not an Australian accent."
"Nah! Scottish. I've lived in Australia since I was two, never quite picked up the accent though. I can speak the lingo, but it don't sound right with my accent. Much easier to stick with what I know, especially since me Mam and Dad speak with much broader accents than mine. Let's get started shall we?"
Urs nodded, turned his head over his shoulder and beckoned his family forward then told them all what his mother had arranged. A lot of excited jumping up and down followed handshakes and the children were soon walking behind Greg, eager to help him and his assistant, Jack, remove the training boards from the back of the jeep. Within seconds they were lined up in age order, watching and listening to the two men explain how to stand up on the board. In next to no time everyone was back in the water, though only a few yards out, the adults and Sylvie holding the boards steady until their assigned children were aboard.
It took Frank three attempts to stand almost upright and he came up giggling after falling off twice and he didn't travel more than six feet once Sylvie released her grip. Kurt and Serena proved to be a little better getting themselves upright and only fell off once before surfing almost twenty feet, Kurt falling first closely followed by Serena. Ciara tried next, but started to become frustrated after falling into the water each of the seven times she tried to stand on the flimsy piece of fiberglass. Determined to do what her siblings had done, she huffed out a breath then got back aboard, managed to get to her feet, but remained in a very low squat position as she sailed three metres away from Urs. Finally it was Jordi's turn and he amazed both Urs and Franky with how quickly he adapted his recently acquired skateboarding skils to surfing, stepping off and giving his backside a shake once he'd made it to the sand.
"You not going to give a go Sylvie?" Urs heard Franky questioning while he watched his mother continuing to record Jordi's celebration.
"Oh all right." Sylvie shrugged in reply as she straddled the same board Frank had used.
Urs turned his attention back to watch her, heard her take a deep breath before she got to her knees and attempted to stand. Nine times she repeated the same process before she was standing and even then she wobbled a lot during the five metre glide she completed before into the ocean with a load splash. Coming up giggling and completely satisfied with her first attempt.
It didn't seem like the two hours his mother had paid for had passed a few moments, but a check of his waterproof watch informed Urs that it had and he heard the children thanking Greg and Jack for the lesson. They all carried their boards back to the jeep, thanked the two men once again then ran back to where their grandmother sat opening the picnic lunch she'd prepared before leaving the villa they were using for this trip earlier this morning.
"Did you all enjoy that? You certainly looked like you did." She asked, smiling at each of the faces.
"That was even better than the tram ride, Grandmami." Kurt informed with an enthusiastic nod as Urs and Franky made themselves comfortable. "Are we going back to the villa on the tram Mami?"
"Since you've all behaved so well, yes." Franky nodded, smiling at each of the children in turn then at Urs.
"Can we come here again, Papi? When the tour gets to Australia?" Frank asked just before taking a bite of his sandwich.
"It there's time, ja." Urs replied, startling at the volume the children reached when they all shouted 'Yay!' at the same time.
The family settled down to eating after that. The children making tentative plans for other things they would like to try and do while they ate. However, the conversation came to an abrupt halt when Urs noticed that another vehicle had stopped very close to where they were sitting, despite the fact that there was plenty of space around them. His brow furrowed slightly as he took a closer look to what the thickly tyred wheels carried and he couldn't help but feel a little bit guilty when he saw the young man in a beach friendly wheelchair.
"I'm really sorry to disturb you. I know how you are about your private time." The man who stood to the left of the wheelchair informed, looking directly at Urs. "But would your wife mind saying hello to my brother? He's a huge fan of those YouTube videos."
"I can speak for myself Terry. I'm paralysed, not struck dumb."
"Sorry, Will. Still getting used to the fact you can speak with the aid of that machine."
"No worries." Will smiled in reply once his electronic voice computer had stopped speaking.
Urs turned to look at Franky and smiled when he saw that she was already standing and thanking Will for his appreciation of her skating.
"Did you like the flowers and chocolates I sent you?"
"You sent those. You're my secret admirer?" Franky asked with a quick glance in Urs's direction.
"Yes. But Terry wrote the cards for me. We live just up the road from where you're staying. I'm sorry if it caused some sort of problem between you and Urs."
"No, it's okay."
"Could I be really, really cheeky and ask for one more thing before I go?"
"Erm......Sure." Franky asked noticing that Will's face was starting to turn red. "What would you like?"
"Would a kiss be asking too much? Just a quick one, on the cheek if you want. I'm not bothered."
"No. That's fine. Urs won't mind, it's not the first time I've been asked for such a thing." Franky nodded, gently took hold of Will's face between her hands and pressed her lips against his for a couple of seconds.
"Thanks. You've made me the happiest I've been in six months. Bye Frau Buhler." Will grinned his head nodding slightly as he began to roll away.
"I don't know. What are you like?" Franky huffed as she back down next to Urs. "Getting jealous over the fact I have a secret admirer who can't be more than fifteen. Honestly, Urs. What would you do if I got all huffy each time you received a gift from an anonymous admirer during a tour?"
"What can I say? I'm a big, dumb dummyhead sometimes." Urs smiled and shrugged in reply.
Knowing that she'd told him that he should appreciate the fact that someone would go to such lengths to let her know how much they admired her without wanting to disturb their time together, the way she did when gifts turned up at hotel rooms for him during tours or CD promotions.

Chapter 123 - Gone Too Soon
After spending almost three hours on stage, all four members of Il Divo waved goodbye to the crowd, looking forward to having two weeks off before heading to Australia, then the Far East. Each man was greeted by his wife except for Urs, who looked down the corridor wondering where Franky was and questioning Lauren when he didn't see her.
"I don't know Urs." Lauren shook her head. "She was called out of the box to take a phone call just before you finished and I haven't seen her since."
Urs nodded then made his way to his dressing room. He'd just removed the stage make-up when Franky came in and he immediately noticed the tears in her eyes.
"Franky. Is there something wrong angel?" He asked, stepping towards her and guiding her to the couch.
"You'd better sit down Urs." Franky nodded, patting the seat beside her and taking hold of his hands once he was seated. "Erm.....I suppose Lauren told you why I wasn't backstage waiting for you?"
"Ja. Phone call. Nothing's wrong with the children is there?"
"No, they're fine. It's.......It's Mami. Oh God....I'm sorry Urs, there's no easy way to say it.......Joelle found her about an hour ago. It looks like she.....she died in her sleep."
"What?! Nein!" Urs yelled, leaping from his seat and storming over to the dressing table where he promptly swept everything on it to the floor and broke down in tears. "S-S-She can't be. I-I-I-I only spoke to her a few hours.....Nein. Bitte, Nein."
"I'm so sorry, honey."
He hadn't been crying for long, when he felt Franky's right arm go around his shoulders and immediately turned into her embrace. He buried his face into her shoulder and continued to cry, his entire body shaking, having no clue how either of them were managing to stay upright, never had his legs felt so weak. He cried so hard, he didn't hear the door open or realise David was in the room until Franky coughed to compose herself enough to be able to speak.
"No David. Everything is not all right. That call I got was from Lars. Joelle found Lorella dead in bed about an hour ago."
"Oh man, no." David sighed and shook his head as he sniffed. "Urs, I'm so sorry."
Unable to speak, Urs simply raised his head briefly and nodded quickly.
"You made any arrangements to get him home yet Franky?"
"No. I haven't had chance."
"Leave it with me. Simon's only a few miles away with the private jet close by. I'll call him, see if he can help out rather than you trying to get a commuter flight."
"Thanks David. Could you let everyone else know what's happened?"
"Sure thing." David sighed then left the room.
"Urs." Franky pleaded, pulling his arms from around her waist and taking his face in hands, attempting to dry his eyes. "I know it's hard, but you have to get changed."
Urs nodded, pressed his forehead against Franky's and took deep breaths until he stopped crying. He changed back into the jeans and Triumph T-shirt he'd arrived in while a sniffing Franky tidied up the mess he'd made and found his sunglasses. She slipped the glasses over his eyes, gently touched his face once his feet were back in his boots and gave him a reassuring smile. Without having to ask, he knew she would be going with him. He swallowed hard on hearing a knock at the door, then turned his head in that direction as it opened.
"All done." David informed once he, Carlos, Sebastien, Lauren, Emma and Barbara-Jean had crossed the threshold. "Simon's sending the limo over and erm........."
"And what David?"
"Don't get mad, Urs but Lauren's call Saskia to let her know what's happened. I told her not to but she......"
"It's all right. How are they getting to the airport?" Urs shook his head slightly.
"The limo's picking them up first."
"Thanks David." Urs replied, then accepted tight hugs from everyone, Sebastien and Emma hugging him the hardest of all and promising to let them know all when the funeral would be held.
A few moments later, Urs and Franky left the arena hand-in-hand and were soon settled in the car. Urs somehow managed to tell the children what had happened as they were whisked to the airport and having to comfort three of them while Franky soothed the other three. It what seemed like no time at all, the jet was in the air, Urs sitting in a window seat, trying to make a mental list of what needed to be done and getting everything muddled. Franky sitting by his side, holding his hand tight until she fell asleep at his request once she'd got the children settled.
As soon as he felt her head hit his shoulder, he pulled his hand from her grasp and wrapped his arm around her. Though extremely tired, there were too many questions buzzing around his head for him to join her. Instead, he stared blankly out of the window, not registering anything of what they were flying over.
Once the plane landed, they moved quickly out of the airport, surprised to see that Kurt had arrived to pick them up, ignoring the few reporters who had spotted Urs and immediately launched into questions. It took them a while to get away from the airport, but once through the gates, they were soon at the Buhler family home, each of his siblings greeting Urs with tight hugs as soon as he crossed the threshold. Joelle took several minutes to compose herself enough to be able to speak when he asked if she had any idea what had happened.
"All I know is that she thought she was coming down with flu yesterday afternoon. I offered to stay and look after her, but she told me she'd be fine and sent me home. When I........When I hadn't heard from her by ten this morning, I came round and found her......she was already cold and knew there was nothing I could do. I called......emerg......nothing they could do. Now we have to wait for the........"
"It's all right. I know." Urs nodded, giving his eldest sister's hand a squeeze then turning his attention to the children. "I know it's hard right now." He began, pausing to look at each of them. "I know you're hurting and I know there aren't as many as there might have been, but I want you to remember all the good times we had with Grandmami."
"And not be afraid to talk about her?" Serena queried through her sniffles. "Like you do about Grandpapi and Mami does about Grandma and Grandad Gibson?"
"That's right." Urs nodded with a brief smile.
He looked around for Franky and just spotted her retreating into the kitchen. She came back several minutes later with a tray in her hands piled high with refreshments for everyone.
"That didn't feel quite right did it?" Urs asked once he'd risen from his seat, walked over to where Franky had placed herself and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"No. No it didn't." Franky sniffed and shook her head. "Every time I've been in that kitchen with Mami, she's been the one to get whatever was needed from the cupboard. I erm.........I made sure I put things back where I got them from though, like she would have wanted."
Urs nodded, then allowed himself to cry again. Time passed quickly and before he knew it, it was approaching midnight. His brother and sisters insisted that he and his family should stay at the house, especially since they had the most children and everyone else had a home not too far away. After a brief disagreement, Urs and Franky reluctantly agreed and made sure their children were settled and asleep before going to bed themselves. Franky doing her very best to comfort him the way she always did, not stopping for one second until he'd fallen asleep almost three hours later.
Urs woke the following morning, still wrapped in Franky's embrace, to the sound of the telephone ringing. Lars passing on the cause of their mother's death as a ruptured acute bacterial abscess of unknown origin, assuring him that the coroner said she would not have known anything about it and hadn't suffered.
The following day, the entire Buhler family met up to make funeral arrangements and pay their final respects to Lorella. Urs spending the most time viewing his mother's remains with a look of confusion on his face, trying to figure out why she appeared to be smiling a little and recalling how she'd told him and his siblings how she'd wanted to die. At home, preferably in her sleep without suffering any pain. Content that she'd gone as she wanted, Urs placed a kiss on both of her cheeks and whispered that he loved her before lifting each of the children to allow them to do the same. Once Franky had said goodbye everyone returned to the house and spent the rest of the day recounting some childhood memories to the children and how Lorella had handled the naughty things they'd done.
"What's the matter Frank?" Joelle asked after telling everyone how she'd been punished for smoking at the age of thirteen, Lorella finding her in the garage, dragging her back into the house and making her smoke one cigarette after the other until she threw up.
"I didn't think Grandmami was that mean."
"She wasn't. I'd been sneaking out for a cigarette for weeks but always denied smoking when Grandmami asked if that's what I'd been up to. I did exactly the same to Tran when I caught him smoking a few weeks ago. I think he's learned his lesson."
"Ja, I have Mami." Tran replied, a sheepish look on his face and his head nodding rapidly, making all the adults chuckle briefly before the stories continued.
The family buried their mother beside her husband four days later in a quiet ceremony, each of her children recounting one happy memory during the service. Her will revealed that her estate would be divided equally between Urs and his siblings once the grandchildren's small inheritances had been paid. The family home was theirs to do with as they wished.
A few weeks after the tour ended the siblings decided to sell the house once they'd cleared it out. Urs found a few things he'd given his mother over the years but the one thing he'd never expected to find and the only thing that made him cry was finding his very first violin, still in its case with a little note from Lorella tucked under the strings informing that she had just never had the heart to get rid of it. He took it home to England, where he proudly displayed it in the music/dance room in a glass display box he'd been trying to get Franky to give away to charity for years. A smile gracing his face as he set it on the shelf he'd put up for the purpose, her voice in his head.
"No, honey. It will come in handy for something..........someday".
What few jewels Lorella had went to her daughters and daughters-in-law, Franky breaking down into tears when Urs gave her the Emerald and Diamond studs that had once belonged to his maternal grandmother. The same ones Franky had refused to accept four years previously when Lorella had decided she probably wouldn't ever wear them again.
Franky wore them a few months later, when Urs took her out dinner at 'Ramone's' to celebrate their wedding anniversary and her birthday. Urs shaking his head as soon as he saw them in her ears, admiring how the beautiful green of the stones was eclipsed by the green of her eyes.

Chapter 124 - Austrian Ride Out
At first he'd been a little miffed when Franky had suggested that just the two of them go away for a few days at the end of tour party because they usually went straight home in order to spend quality time with the children. As usual, she'd picked up on that and had quickly reminded him that he was always telling her that she needed a break from them once in a while, adding so did he despite the fact he spent less time with them than she did. Then she'd told him that his sisters wanted to have the children for a few days, especially Merle now little Henri had arrived and all of his siblings had said the two of them needed some time together, especially since the first few tour dates following Lorella's passing had been so hard to get through.
He'd ummed and grumbled for a few minutes before agreeing that it would do the children good to spend some time with the aunts, uncles and cousins they rarely saw. His brother and sisters were also right, he and Franky did need some quality time together. Despite the fact she said he didn't, he still thought he owed Franky for her love and support throughout the rest of the tour besides helping the children cope with the loss of Grandmami and how proud she'd been of him the first time he'd sang 'Mama' after the funeral. He hadn't noticed anything difference in that performance, but it appeared Carlos, David, Sebastien and the entire audience had picked up on the fact he'd sung a little louder than usual as the cresendo hit, his bandmates giving him a slightly stunned look the first time they'd heard it. Each of them gently nodding their heads and smiling softly, especially Sebastien.
Once back at home, Franky had called his sisters to let them know he had agreed to the children paying a visit. Travel arrangements and pick ups or drop offs had been made once the children had calmed down. What Franky had done in her office after that he hadn't been sure of because he'd gone upstairs to help the children pack, all of them still very excited despite the fact they wouldn't be leaving for a couple of days. He'd returned downstairs to find Franky on the phone to Gabriel asking if he was prepared to have Alondra while they were away for a few days. Refusing to say where just the two of them were heading despite the passionate kisses he gave her in an attempt to get every detail out of her. Asking him to go and make sure the Fire Harley and his bike were in good working order while he coughed to compose himself and gently pushing him out of the office. That job had taken a little over half an hour due to the fact Gabriel had full access to the house and garage whenever they were away on tour and gave the bikes a run out to stop things seizing up and fixed any problems that he found.
Saskia had flown out to Zurich airport with all the children accompanied by Lauren's parents, who were heading to Switzerland for a holiday. Franky tearfully bidding them goodbye at Heathrow with firm instructions to behave as they watched them head up the walkway to the plane. As soon as they'd reached Kloten airport, Saskia had called to let Urs and Franky know that the children had done as she'd requested and were busy exchanging hugs and kisses with their extended family and informing that once she was sure they were all happily settled she would be heading to Bern for a few days. That call had come through while he and Franky were waiting to ride their bikes onto the Eurotunnel train.
Once out of Paris, they'd ridden side-by-side whenever they could, stopping to enjoy the scenery several times until they arrived in Salzburg. It was very early in the morning when they stopped outside the Goldenes Theaterhotel, but he'd still been surprised to see Kurt and Mara sitting in the bar area waiting for them. They'd chatted for a while before heading to their rooms and still Franky had refused to say what else she had in store. Not when he teased her womanhood with his fingers, not when he'd driven her hard and fast to orgasm in the shower and not when he'd taken her from behind, her body arching back towards his instead of remaining compressed against the chest of drawers as she came, screaming his name long and loud as he followed her over.
Now here he was the following afternoon, correcting the wobbly riding he'd drifted into, coughing inside his helmet, trying to forget the smiles, smirks and knowing looks he and Franky had received early this morning as they sat down to breakfast with Kurt and Mara. Admiring the view in front of him and coughing again when Franky slowed to a stop behind the thirty riders in front of her.
"Enjoying yourself?" She asked shaking her hair free of its helmethead style once she'd removed it.
"Ja. The view's brilliant from back there." Urs replied with a Cheshire Cat grin, his arms around her waist. "Where are we staying tonight?"
"You'll have to wait and see, won't you?" Franky replied, reluctantly pulling out of his arms, reaching into the panier of her bike and pulling out her camera.
Like the last time they'd gone on a motorbike rideout, it didn't take her long to get all the riders together for a group photo and two were soon on the memory card. One taken by Franky, the other by Mara. Individual shots were taken after that, followed by pictures of those who'd come as a group. A large framed Swedish man offering to take one of Urs, Franky, Kurt and Mara together. The foursome settling down to eat a picnic lunch and catch up once a couple of fans had received Urs's politely asked for autograph.
In what seemed no time at all, their guide was informing that it was time to tidy up and get back on the road if they were to reach their destination before nightfall. That didn't take long and Urs was soon riding beside Franky along the mostly deserted winding road that he knew would take them to Linz, with Kurt and Mara bringing up the rear.
On arrival he really thought this was their destination and was quite taken aback when Hans, the guide, continued through the city towards the suburb of Ottensheim, an area Urs didn't know at all other than that they were very close to the Danube River. Knowing he was wearing a look of confusion as everyone turned left into a field and reading the sign for 'Dasparkhotel'. There was no hotel in sight, just rows of huge concrete pipes and he thought Hans had got them completely lost as he removed his helmet.
"Well......What do you think?" He heard Franky asking from his right and turned to face her.
"Are we camping or something? Did you bring a tent? I didn't." He shrugged in reply.
"No. Well sort of. We're sleeping in those." She replied, pointing towards the concrete pipes. "Aren't they fantastic?"
"Well........I erm...........Isn't it going to be very uncomfortable sleeping on concrete?" Urs shrugged again and whipped his head round when he heard Kurt's familiar deep belly laugh to his left.
"Not as uncomfortable as you think, Urs. They're compact but more than comfortable." Kurt informed, his arm around Mara's waist holding her close. "Quite cosy as a matter of fact. You and Franky should really enjoy this experience. I know me and Mara will.......yet again."
"Kurt!" Mara yelled, her face bright red and playfully slapping his chest.
"You've been here before?"
"Several times, Urs." Mara nodded. "There's nothing to worry about, there's nothing you and Franky can get up to inside to make the tubes roll away. Come on, let's go and get our codes."
Urs nodded, took hold of Franky's hand and followed Kurt and Mara towards the rest of the group. Urs and Franky were soon standing at one end of their tube, Franky punching 1913 onto the pad and opening the door that sealed that end.
"Oh mein Gott!" Urs exclaimed when he saw that the tube had been sealed at the other end and it had been fitted out with a double bed, a lamp, a safe and that even had wireless internet access. "Fantastisch! Very cosy." He nodded, spotting the hole that allowed the occupants to breath when they were locked inside.
Following a few minutes of giggling and kissing, Urs and Franky followed Kurt and Mara when they offered to show them where the toilet block and showers were. They took a look inside and were quite surprised to find that the showers were individual ones with lockable doors and that they were spotlessly clean, just like the toilets.
Everyone spent the early part of the evening enjoying the barbeque Hans had provided as part of the package, chatting amicably. Urs beaming with pride when the ladies who'd asked for autographs told him what a beautiful wife he had and what lovely children she'd given him. A few couples decided to go to bed as it approached midnight, but not Urs and Franky. Knowing where he was, he grabbed her hand and gently led her across the field towards the Danube River. Once there, he removed his mobile from his pocket, found the music he wanted and played 'The Blue Danube Waltz' at full volume while he and Franky danced on the riverbank, neither of them caring that they were doing so still dressed in leather biker trousers. Being together just like this was more important to both of them than what they wore.
The dance over, they spent almost another hour down by the river. Franky seated between Urs's legs, his arms wrapped around her while they took in the beauty of the lights on the other side and watched several tour boats pass them by, one appearing to be in the throws of a wedding party if the way it was decorated and the noises drifting towards them were anything to go by.
Agreeing that they'd spent enough time riverside, they headed back to their 'room' and locked the door once inside. Despite the cramped conditions and amid much giggling, they managed to remove each other's clothes and spent the next hour making love before falling asleep, both of them glistening with sweat.
With the exception of Hans and a handful of other people, they woke the following morning and headed for the showers before settling down to breakfast. Once everyone was awake and had been fed, Urs watched Franky follow Mara's lead to place forty Euros in a box then listened to her explain that was how you paid for your stay, you gave what you thought it was worth, there were no rates, overnight or otherwise.
Everyone remounted their bikes once they'd paid for their stay and they were soon on the road back to Linz where Hans actually stopped this time, the locals not paying any attention to the multitude of different motorcylces that roared into the city centre, obviously having seen such a parade many times before. With the bikes parked and turned off in a secure car park, Hans informed that everyone could head of sightseeing if they wished, for the next four hours at least. Reminding them all to be back by 2:00pm for the ride back to Salzburg where the rideout would come to an end.
It didn't take long for Urs to figure out where he wanted to take Franky and they were soon waiting in line to ride the Pöstlingbergbahn to the top of Pöstlingberg Hill, The two of them spending some time viewing the city from 820 feet above it, Franky taking more photos before heading to the stunning Wallfahrts Basilika. Each of them wondering how the twin spired church had been built while they looked around it. Urs leaving, happy with the fact he'd finally been able to bring Franky to one place he'd wanted to take her for years, they'd just never had the time.
Their alloted four hours slipped by far too quickly for Urs's liking and he made a mental note to bring Franky back to Linz as he started his bike. Once again, he rode by her side all the way back to Salzburg, where they both thanked Hans for the wonderful experience. The young man blushing bright red as Franky pulled back from the hug and cheek kiss she'd given him.
"Oh before I forget, these are for you." Urs heard Mara informing as they seperated from a hug and watched her reach into her motorbike jacket to hand over three DVDs. "Don't bother asking what they are." She instructed with a grin just he opened his mouth.
He watched her walk away with Kurt, returned their wave then turned to look at Franky questioningly, holding the DVDs up between them.
"I don't know what they are. I didn't bring our video camera and I didn't see either Kurt or Mara with one." She shrugged, her crashelmet held over her head.
Urs nodded and slipped the discs into his jacket pocket, knowing that Franky would have tried to avoid the camera if she had seen one in Kurt or Mara's hands. Shrugging, he fastened his helmet, restarted his bike and left Salzburg at Franky's side again. The two of them enjoying the ride back to Paris just as much as they had on leaving it. They made it onto the Eurotunnel train back to London with plenty of time to spare and fell asleep before it departed Paris. Urs woke from his nap first and let Franky sleep in his embrace for a few more moments before he gently woke her with a kiss and thank you for the rideout.
Thanks to roadworks that hadn't been started when they left, it took Urs and Franky half an hour more than usual to get home and once they were in the house they settled down on the couch, eager to see what was on the DVDs. Urs picking up the note that had been tucked inside the wallet of the first one and reading what Mara had written.
'I did my best, but some are still a little bit grainy. Enjoy the memories.'
Wondering what she could mean, Urs turned the television on, slipped the disc in then cuddled up with Franky. His eyes flew wide as he watched his maternal grandmother water-skiing. Beginning as a girl aged about twelve, performing tricks and stunts with difficulty to begin with, gradually improving, the final images showing her wrapped in his grandfather's embrace, an engagement ring on her left hand. The second disc held images of their wedding and each of their children. The third much the same, only featuring his parents's wedding day and images of his maternal grandparents holding himself and his siblings as babies.
Teary-eyed once he'd watched the last DVD, Urs phoned Joelle and asked her if she had copies once he'd asked if Kurt and Ciara were behaving themselves.
"Of course I do, Urs. So have Lars, Liana and Merle. Honestly! Who do you think asked Mara to do what she could with those old cine films in the first place?" Came her reply followed by a huffed laugh.
"Oh! Okay, I'll let you go then. And don't let Kurt eat too many sweets at the cinema. You don't want him being sick on you."
"I know, I haven't forgotten last time and he's already been warned not to pinch any of whatever Ciara has. I'll be keeping a much closer eye on him than you did. Goodbye Urs."
Huffing a laugh, Urs hung up and returned to the lounge where he found Franky marking up the DVDs and adding them to the already large collection they had. The photographs she'd taken during their rideout would be added to the collection when she could find time.
With the house locked up for the night, they headed upstairs where they showered together to rid themselves of the smell of motorbikes then settled down in their usual way and re-lived the trip before falling asleep to dream of taking another rideout in the future.
Urs doing so with a smile on his face, knowing exactly where he would like to go and that Beijing was one of Franky's favourite places in the world.
