Here it is, the wedding chapter! You have everything planned amazingly Tina Smile and in this chapter, David prepared everything from A to Z. Each couple has their own room with the name suitable for them. I love the names of the rooms Wink so sweet.

Awww… it’s adorable to see David is nervous Wink he now gets married to the love of his life and I’m so happy for the Millers.

One more interesting thing is that we know the story of how they met each other through Seb’s toast. It’s funny that David thought Monique was Seb’s something and he even didn’t talk to Seb.

The rings are absolutely stunning. The dresses and the bouquets, so wonderful. I love David’s attire too. You’ve got a great taste Tina Wink

What will Seb store for Deanna later? I can’t wait to find out Very Happy

Chapter 24

The newlyweds awoke to a beautiful sunrise and although the day was bright, nothing was as radiant as the happiness they felt. These two were finally husband and wife, and they had a hard time getting out of bed but they knew it had to be done.

“Can’t we stay in bed for another ten minutes?” David asked as Monique was getting ready to leave the bed.

“I wish we could but we have to meet the family and our friends for breakfast. I promise you that we will spend a lot of time in bed when we get to Jamaica,” Monique smiled.

“I’ll hold you to that promise. Let’s get ready for breakfast,” David rose from the bed.

While Monique and David were getting ready for breakfast, Deanna was already dressed and she was watching the sunrise from the balcony. The mountains looked beautiful in the morning and the fresh air was making it the perfect morning. She jumped when she felt Séb’s arms around her.

“I’m sorry, Cherie. I didn’t mean to scare you,” Séb whispered in her ear.

“It’s ok,” Deanna sighed.

“Are you alright?” Séb asked.

“I’m just a bit tired. I didn’t sleep much,” Deanna replied, turning around.

“Well, you will have lots of time to sleep during the next week,” Séb smiled.

“I know. You should get ready,” Deanna smiled back.

Séb kissed her deeply before he walked into the bathroom. While he was in the shower, Deanna thought of how to show Séb how she felt. She knew that she wasn’t good at showing her feelings but she had been working as a bodyguard for 6 years and showing your feelings was a sign of weakness. Séb deserved to know how she felt about him and if showing her feelings was a sign of weakness, then she was weak. It wouldn’t be the first time because she was also weak when the young girl died in her arms.

Suddenly Deanna had the perfect idea but she would need David’s help. Smiling, Deanna walked back into the room, closing the balcony door behind her. She walked into the bathroom to tell Séb that she would see him at breakfast but when she saw him coming out of the shower, wearing a towel, she forgot what she wanted to say. Séb looked at her and he had to stop himself from laughing. He could see that Deanna’s eyes were scanning his body and it made him smile.

“I…..I came to tell you that….I will see you at breakfast,” Deanna managed to say before she hurried out of the bathroom.

When he heard the door close, Séb couldn’t stop himself any longer. He laughed and he couldn’t stop laughing. It had been so funny to watch Deanna’s face and he wished that he could have caught it on tape. When he had stopped laughing, he got dressed and walked to the breakfast restaurant to meet the others.

“I’m sorry for disturbing but I really need to talk to David before breakfast,” Deanna said to Monique.

“You’re not disturbing. Come on in,” Monique stepped aside.

“What’s on your mind, Deanna?” David asked her.

Deanna told David and Monique about her plan and they both listened without interrupting. They thought it was a good idea and David promised to help her with the arrangements. He told her that he would speak to Pam after breakfast and he was sure that she would agree to help Deanna. Monique knew that Séb would love the surprise because no woman had ever done something like that for him before. Lucy would have never done it but of course she never loved Séb, at least not the same way Deanna loves him.

They left the room and joined the others in the breakfast restaurant. Deanna joined the Divos and the girls at the table while David walked over to Pam to talk to her about Deanna’s wishes. After spending a few minutes with Pam, David returned and whispered to Deanna that he had taken care of things. Deanna smiled at him as he took a seat next to Monique. Everyone at the table watched David and Deanna and they all wondered what was going on but they hoped that Deanna would tell them later.

It was an hour later when David announced that the time had come for them to leave. Taking Monique’s hand in his, he thanked all of them for being there on the big day. Monique informed the unmarried girls that she wanted to see all of them outside as she wanted to toss the bouquet before they left. The girls did as she requested and once they were outside, Monique smiled at the Divo girls before she turned around and tossed the bouquet. As she turned around, Charlene caught the bouquet and Monique was happy to see that one of the Divo girls had caught the bouquet.

David and Monique climbed into the car and they waved at their family and friends as the car drove off. As soon as the car was out of sight, David’s family said goodbye to the Divos and the girls before they picked up their bags and left the Della Terra. As the three remaining Divo couples walked back into the hotel, Pam approached Deanna and asked her to follow her. Deanna walked off with Pam, leaving her friends wondering what on earth was happening.

“I don’t know if David told you that we’ve agreed to help you with your plan,” Pam said when they were alone.

“Yes, he did and I really appreciate your help,” Deanna smiled.

“We will help you with everything. All you have to do is to tell us what you want,” Pam smiled back.

“This is what I had planned,” Deanna said, giving Pam a piece of paper.

“We can do that. No problem at all. When do you want it to be ready?” Pam questioned after reading the note.

“No later than 7 pm. I hope the girls can convince the guys to take Séb out of the hotel from 4 pm till 6.30 pm. It will give me time to do what I have to do,” Deanna answered.

“How about river rafting?” Pam suggested.

“Now that sounds like a good idea but how can we make that happen on such short notice?” Deanna asked.

“Marty’s friend, Luke, can take care of that. If it’s something you think the guys would like, I’d be happy to call him,” Pam replied.

“I will talk to them and let you know,” Deanna said.

“I will be at the front desk,” Pam smiled.

Deanna left and went looking for her friends. She found them in the lodge room and she asked Charlene and Megan to follow her. When they were alone, Deanna told them about the river rafting and both girls thought it would be a great experience for the guys. Deanna suggested that they would meet up at the front desk five minutes later and both girls agreed.

“What is going on?” Séb asked when they were alone.

“How do you feel about river rafting? Is it something you would consider doing?” Deanna looked at him.

“If I had the chance to do it, then yes but why do you ask?” Séb pulled her close.

“Because I think you guys need to do something together and river rafting sounds like fun,” Deanna answered with a smile.

“You’re right about that. If the guys agree to it, then we’re going river rafting,” Séb kissed her.

Meanwhile Megan and Charlene had spoken to Carlos and Urs and both Divos thought it was a great idea to go river rafting together. Megan and Charlene met up with Deanna at the front desk and they informed Pam that all 3 Divos had agreed to do it. Pam quickly made a phone call to Luke and after a few minutes she hung up and smiled at the girls.

“He will be waiting for them at 3 pm. I will arrange for transport and you just make sure the guys are here at the front desk at 2.45 pm,” Pam informed.

“Don’t worry. They will be here,” Deanna promised.

The girls went to their rooms to tell the guys when to be at the front desk. Urs and Charlene decided to go for a walk and enjoy the mountains. Megan and Carlos spend their time relaxing and Séb was on his laptop, looking for something special while Deanna continued with her planning.

It was 2.45 pm when Séb, Carlos and Urs met at the front desk and Luke arrived shortly after. Luke explained to the guys what would happen once they got to the river and the guys couldn’t wait to get started. Urs and Carlos exchanged looks as they drove off because Séb was really excited and he kept talking about how great it would be to experience the river close up. Both Carlos and Urs hoped that Séb wouldn’t be too disappointed when he found out the real reason for the river rafting.

Luke stopped the car by a small cabin and they all got out and walked to the cabin where he told the guys to put on a life jacket. After putting on the life jackets, the Divos followed him down to the river and he gave them the final instructions. As the Divos looked at the river, they realized just how wild this could get and they began to wonder if this was a good idea but they couldn’t back out now because they didn’t want the girls to think they were chickens.

“Are you ready to see what the river has to offer?” Luke asked them.

“Not really but we have to do this,” Urs replied.

“Ok, then let’s explore the river,” Luke smiled.

Urs, Carlos and Séb followed Luke into the raft and soon after they were on the way. It felt like the river didn’t want them there and they knew it would be a challenge for sure.

Back at the Della Terra, Deanna was busy with her plan. Megan and Charlene had offered to help her and it was an offer Deanna couldn’t refuse. The three friends were helping the chef in the kitchen because Deanna wanted to help out. It was important to her to do this and the thought of letting others do all the work was just not acceptable.

It was almost 6 pm when Deanna and the girls returned to their rooms. Deanna had a lot of things to do before Séb returned and she felt like she was running out of time. She sighed as she opened the door to the balcony and walked over to the table. It was small but the table in the living room wasn’t suitable for dinner and this was more romantic. Deanna set the table and made sure that everything was ready before walking to the bathroom to have a shower.

After finishing her shower, Deanna put on a robe and walked into the bedroom to put on the dress she had brought for a special occasion. She didn’t want Séb to see the dress yet and she decided to hide the dress under the bathrobe, hoping Séb wouldn’t notice the dress. Just as she had done her hair, Séb walked into the room and he was really excited. He couldn’t stop talking about the river rafting and it made Deanna wonder if she should cancel her plans and just forget about the whole thing. What she had planned was no match for river rafting but how could she cancel now? The food was almost ready and everything had been planned.

Séb told Deanna that he would take a quick shower and then he would tell her more about today’s experience and Deanna smiled at him as she nodded her head. As soon as he was gone, Deanna walked over to the bed and sat down. Deanna really had no idea what to do because the river rafting had ruined her plans completely and she knew it was her fault. She had been stupid enough to believe that she could compete with a wild river.

Deanna let out a sigh and rose from the bed. Since her plan had been ruined, she decided to just change into something else and then eat dinner and listen to Séb telling her about his experience. She removed the robe and was about to take off the dress when she heard a noise behind her. Deanna turned around and noticed Séb staring at her. He kept staring at the dress and looked like he was thinking of something to say.

“Wow, you look stunning,” Séb smiled at her.

“Thanks. I will slip into something else and you should get dressed before the food will be here,” Deanna told him.

“Wait a minute! Why do you have to change your clothes and what is with the food? Did you order food?” Séb looked at her.

“Yes, I ordered food. The river rafting was my idea because I had to get you out of the Della Terra while I was planning our romantic evening,” Deanna answered.

“You’ve planned a romantic evening?” Séb questioned.

“Yes. It was the only way I could think of to show you how I feel about you and I just feel like it has all been for nothing because of your excitement about the river rafting,” Deanna sighed.

“Listen to me. The river rafting was great but it’s nothing compared to a romantic evening with my girlfriend. I’ll get dressed for our romantic evening and you will keep that dress on, at least until after dinner because I am not sure I can control myself longer than that,” Séb smiled as he pulled her into his arms.

“Ok, I will keep the dress on and you have to get dressed,” Deanna looked into his eyes.

Séb let out a sigh as he let go of Deanna. He watched her as she walked out of the bedroom and he hoped that tonight would be the night they would become one. Séb had just put on his shirt when there was a knock on the door and he watched as Deanna opened it to let the waiter into the room. The waiter informed Deanna that she could leave the cart in the hallway and he would pick it up later. Deanna thanked him and after he had left, Séb took Deanna’s hand and led her to the balcony.

After being seated, the two of them enjoyed their dinner. The view from the balcony was breathtaking with the stars twinkling in the sky and the moon shining bright above the mountains. As they were eating, Séb looked at Deanna and wondered why he couldn’t have met her before he met Lucy. She had made an impression on him when they met at the meet and greet in New York and if he hadn’t been involved with Lucy at the time, he would have asked her out on a date. Well, it didn’t really matter because here they were, together as a couple and it was just as it should be.

They continued to eat the dinner and when they had finished, Séb stood to clear the table while Deanna stood and walked to one of the open windows on the balcony. When Séb had finished clearing the table, he took the strawberries from the cart and placed them on the table before he reached for the champagne. He poured two glasses of champagne and handed one to Deanna as he joined her by the window.

“Thanks,” Deanna smiled as she took the glass from him.

“I should be the one to thank you. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have been standing here with you now, looking at this beautiful view,” Séb looked at her.

“I was just doing my job but I’m glad you’re here with me now,” Deanna admitted.

“So am I,” Séb told her.

“Do you remember what I said to you when we first got here?” Deanna asked him, playing with her glass.

“Not really,” Séb looked at her.

“I told you that I wanted to try out the outdoor tub,” Deanna reminded him.

“Is that an invitation?” Séb smiled.

“No, it was just a piece of information,” Deanna said and left.

Séb smiled to himself as he began to fill the tub with water. As he waited for the tub to fill up, he wondered if this was the moment he had been waiting for. Deanna returned, wrapped in a robe and instead of climbing into the tub, she walked over to the window and looked out into the night. Séb walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her as he softly kissed her neck.

“The water is ready for you, Cherie. Why don’t you take off your robe and climb into the tub?” Séb whispered in her ear.

“Don’t you have to change?” Deanna looked at him.

“So, it was an invitation after all,” Séb winked and disappeared.

While he was gone, Deanna quickly removed her robe and climbed into the tub. Shortly after, Séb returned and he poured some more champagne and passed a glass to Deanna before he grabbed the bowl of strawberries. He put down the bowl on the table and climbed into the tub behind Deanna. Once he was in the tub, he took the glass from her and placed it on the table next to the tub. Deanna froze when she felt his hands caress her neck and shoulders before he ran his hands down her arms until he reached her hands where he let his fingers entwine with hers.

Séb played with her fingers as he placed soft kisses on her neck and her shoulder. He could tell that Deanna loved what he was doing and when she turned her head and looked at him, he knew that she was ready to give herself to him. Séb glanced into her eyes as he lowered his head and Deanna closed her eyes as his lips made contact with hers. The kiss was sending her to a place she had never been before and it felt so right to be in his arms like this.

“You’re shivering, Cherie. Are you cold?” Séb questioned.

“Yes, I’m a little cold. And so is this water,” Deanna looked at him.

“You’re right. We should probably get out of this water before we start to wrinkle,” Séb laughed.

Deanna reached for her robe before she stood to put it on. She stepped out of the tub and grabbed her glass of champagne and the strawberries before leaving the balcony. After taking the water out of the tub, Séb picked up the bottle and his own glass and turned out the lights before closing the door to the balcony. He turned out the lights in the other rooms before he joined Deanna in the bedroom. She was lying on the bed, wrapped in her robe and Séb picked up a strawberry and put it in his mouth as he walked over to the bed.

Séb joined her on the bed and he moved his head closer to hers and offered her the strawberry. The strawberry looked delicious and Deanna couldn’t wait to taste it or to feel Séb’s lips on hers again. As Deanna was about to take the strawberry from him, Séb took a bite and ended up kissing her softly. The sweetness of the strawberry was nothing compared to the sweetness of his kiss and Deanna closed her eyes and savored the moment. Séb let his hand wander down her body until he found the belt on her robe and Deanna opened her eyes when he tried to untie it.

“No, don’t do that,” Deanna whispered to him.

“Why? I can feel you want it as much as I do,” Séb looked at her.

“I do want it but I have some issues regarding my body. I’ve been shot and stabbed several times and I have a lot of scars,” Deanna explained, not looking at him.

“Do you think that I would be disgusted by that?” Séb was shocked to hear that.

“Yes,” Deanna confessed.

“We all have scars, both on the outside and the inside but we shouldn’t let it control our lives. You are beautiful and you will always be beautiful to me no matter what,” Séb said as he touched her face.

Séb kissed her deeply as he continued to undo her robe and Deanna was surprised when his fingers explored her scars. She thought it would make her feel uncomfortable but Séb’s gentle touch had another effect. She closed her eyes and welcomed all of the emotions her body was experiencing. This wonderful man was taking her to a place she had never been before and Séb could tell by her response to his touch that she loved what he was doing. Soon after, they were making love for the first time and after their love making, Deanna drifted off to sleep in Séb’s arms. Séb watched her closely and he felt a love that he had never felt before. He kissed her forehead before he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 25

----- Megan & Carlos -----

In the Dawn Room, Megan and Carlos had just finished their bath in the outdoor tub and Megan was looking at the moon. She had never seen a more beautiful sight and she just wanted to be a part of it. It was almost like the mountains called for her, asking her to leave the Della Terra and explore what the area had to offer. As she stood there, a crazy idea entered her mind and she turned around and looked at Carlos.

”I just had a crazy idea,” she said to him.

“And what exactly is your idea?” Carlos asked as he walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her.

“A moonlight swim. The weather is nice, we have the lake nearby and the moon is shining above the mountains. I think it’s the perfect setting,” Megan answered.

“I think you’re right. Let’s do it,” Carlos kissed her.

Megan kissed him back before getting dressed for a moonlight swim. After getting dressed, Carlos watched Megan as she walked to the door and suddenly he had a crazy idea of his own.

"What do you say we make this swim more personal? Let’s go skinny dipping," Carlos looked at her.

"Are you mad? What if someone sees us?” Megan’s eyes widened as she looked at him.

"That makes it more exciting," he smiled wickedly.

"Yes, until your naked butt ends up as front page news. I can see the headline now. ‘Marin ditches The Armani--A look at what’s under the suit!" Megan said.

“We are up in the mountains in Denver at 11 pm. Do you really think anyone will be crazy enough to go to the lake at this hour except for us? Let’s live a little,” Carlos wiggled his eyebrows.

“I don’t know about this,” Megan looked at him.

“We won’t get caught. Trust me,” Carlos reached out his hand to her.

Megan looked at him and she wasn’t sure of what to do. The whole moonlight swim had been her idea and she knew that it would be wrong of her to back out now but the idea of skinny dipping was freaking her out. On the other hand, Carlos was right. Who in their right mind would be crazy enough to go to the lake now?

“I never thought I’d say this but let’s do it,” Megan placed her hand in his.

“You won’t regret it,” Carlos said as they left the room.

----- Deanna & Séb -----

Deanna woke up in Séb’s arms after their love making, wondering what time it was. She reached out and found her watch and was surprised to see that she had only been sleeping for about an hour. Deanna needed to go to the bathroom and she tried to slip out of Séb’s embrace but he just pulled her closer to him.

“Are you trying to sneak off Cherie?” Séb asked.

“Not really. I need to use the bathroom,” Deanna answered.

“On one condition,” Séb said.

“As long as I can go to the bathroom, I will do anything,” Deanna looked at him.

“You have to come back to bed,” Séb smiled.

“I promise. Please let me go,” Deanna begged.

Séb let go of her and Deanna hurried into the bathroom to take care of her business. Séb was waiting for her when she returned and Deanna climbed back into bed. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her passionately as his hands began to explore her body. Soon after they were making love for the second time that evening and as their bodies became one, both Séb and Deanna knew that they had found the one person they wanted to be with for the rest of their lives.

Deanna was resting her head on Séb’s chest as her fingers played with the light coating of chest hair and Séb was staring at the ceiling as he ran his hand up and down her arm. He was thinking of what Deanna had done for him and he wanted to do something romantic for her too but what? Suddenly he came up with the perfect ending to a romantic night.

“Let’s get dressed and get out of here,” he said to Deanna.

“What? It’s after 11 pm,” Deanna looked at him.

“I know it is but a moonlight walk would be the perfect ending to our romantic night,” Séb kissed the top of her head.

“A moonlight walk sounds like a good idea,” Deanna smiled at him.

They rose from the bed and freshened up a bit before getting dressed. As they left the room, Séb wrapped his arm around Deanna’s waist and they made their way to the front desk. Sandy was working the nightshift and she smiled at them as they walked out of the hotel. Once they were outside, Séb let go of Deanna and reached for her hand and he let his fingers entwine with hers as they walked down the road.

As Deanna walked down the road with Séb, it occurred to her that it was the first time she had ever been on a moonlight walk with a man. Jason, her ex, had never been the romantic type and when it came to moonlight walks or romantic dinners, Jason had backed out. Suddenly Séb stopped and pulled her into him, kissing her softly under the moon. When they broke the kiss, he whispered I love you before they continued their walk and suddenly they heard voices coming from the lake.

----- Charlene and Urs -----

Charlene and Urs had returned to the hotel after a nice dinner in town and a ride through the mountains. After the guys had finished the river rafting, Urs had asked Luke if it was possible to rent a motorcycle because he wanted to experience the mountains. Luke had told Urs that he had a motorcycle at home and if Urs wanted to borrow it, he could go home with him and get the motorcycle. Urs couldn’t say no to that offer and after dropping the guys off at the hotel, Urs went home with Luke to pick up the motorcycle.

“That was amazing,” Charlene said after removing her helmet.

“Yes it sure was. But do you know what the best part was?” Urs looked at her.

“No,” Charlene replied.

“The kiss we shared under the moon,” Urs got off the motorcycle.

“Well, we don’t have to settle with a kiss,” Charlene reached out her hand to Urs.

Urs smiled at her as he took her hand and kissed it. They walked into the hotel and smiled at Sandy before they headed to their room. As soon as Urs had closed and locked the door, he pulled Charlene into an intoxicating kiss. Urs lifted Charlene into his arms and carried her into the bedroom where he slowly began to undress her. As soon as all clothes had been removed, they made love as if it was the first time. After their love making, Urs rolled onto his back and Charlene snuggled up to him.

“Do you think that others are doing this now?” Charlene asked him.

“I can think of three other couples who are probably doing the same,” Urs laughed.

“You might be right about that. Have you decided on a best man yet?” Charlene changed the subject.

“My best man will be Carlos. Séb was David’s best man and I think Carlos deserves the chance too,” Urs told her.

“That sounds like a good idea and I’m sure he will agree to do it. I was thinking of having a maid of honor but I can’t choose between the girls and I don’t want anyone to feel left out,” Charlene looked at him.

“I don’t think anyone would feel left out if you chose one of them as maid of honor but you should do what you feel is right and I will support you,” Urs smiled at her.

“I know you will. Are you tired?” Charlene asked as she ran her fingers over his chest.

“Not really. What did you have in mind?” Urs looked at her.

“Maybe this will give you an idea,” Charlene kissed him.

Urs returned the kiss and they made love again until sleep caught up with them.

----- Monique and David - Sandals Whitehouse Resort in Jamaica -----

The Bodyguard - Page 2 Swh-000_zps21d190cb

In Jamaica, Monique and David had spent the day exploring the area and each other. They had their own suite with access to the beach and their own butler. It was the perfect setting for a honeymoon and they were looking forward to spending a week there.

Even though it was almost 1.30 am in Jamaica, Monique and David were sitting in the large patio, enjoying the rest of the champagne from their dinner. The only sound was the sound of the waves crashing on the beach as a light breeze caressed the trees. Monique closed her eyes and listened to the calming sound of the trees and the waves as she sipped her champagne. David watched his wife without saying a word and he loved the way the breeze was playing with her long, dark hair.

“What are you looking at?” Monique suddenly asked him.

“I’m looking at you. I’ve never seen you look more beautiful,” David smiled at her.

“Thanks. I wish we could stay here forever and never go back to London,” Monique sighed.

“We could do that but wouldn’t you miss Séb and the others?” David questioned.
“Yes I would. Séb is my brother and I owe him a lot for taking care of me after our parents died. The girls and the guys are my friends,” Monique responded.

“I owe him a lot too. If it wasn’t for him, I never would have met you and we wouldn’t have been married,” David said.

“That’s true. I don’t know about you but I’m getting sleepy,” Monique looked at David.

“So am I,” David smiled and rose from the chair.

He reached out his hand to Monique and as she placed her hand in his, he pulled her up and led her into the bedroom. David kissed Monique as his hands undid the robe she had been wearing and he watched as it fell to the floor. Monique walked over to the bed and lay down as David undressed before joining her. David pulled her into his arms and kissed her softly as they began the journey that would lead to them becoming one. After their love making, they drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms.

----- Denver -----

The voices coming from the lake sounded familiar to Deanna but it couldn’t be Megan and Carlos because they wouldn’t be crazy enough to go swimming in a lake at 11.30 pm. Deanna, being curious as always, wanted to make sure that it wasn’t her sister and she walked closer to the lake but stopped when she saw two people in the water and they looked like they were kissing. Even though the moonlight lit up the lake, Deanna couldn’t see clearly enough to recognize the people in the water. Deanna decided to go back to Séb but as she was about to leave, she heard Megan’s voice saying the name Carlos and she knew for sure that the people in the lake were Megan and Carlos.

“Are you ok, Cherie?” Séb whispered as Deanna returned.

“No I’m not ok. My sister and Carlos are in that lake, kissing and probably doing other things,” Deanna replied.

“Wait a minute. The voices belong to Megan and Carlos?” Séb asked, not sure he had heard right.

“Yes. Let’s go back to the hotel,” Deanna begged.

Séb couldn’t believe it and he wanted to badly to laugh but he knew that his laugh would alert them and it could be embarrassing for all of them. He took Deanna’s hand and they hurried back to the hotel and their room to get some sleep. They climbed into bed and shortly after getting into bed, Séb drifted off to sleep while Deanna was thinking about her sister and Carlos and what was going on in that lake. Yes, it was none of her business but it was unlike Megan to do something like that. As she closed her eyes, Deanna wondered if she knew her sister at all.

Chapter 26

A month had passed since the wedding in Denver and after returning to London, the Divos had been on a tight schedule with interviews and rehearsals before the tour. The girls had gotten a lot closer after the trip to Denver and they couldn’t wait to travel around the world with the men they loved.

Megan and Carlos had picked up their dog after returning to London and he was the most adorable puppy. He was a beagle and they had agreed on the name Bailey for him and in no time, the dog became a member of the Divo family. Megan was a bit concerned about taking Bailey on tour because he was still a puppy and they had no idea how he would react to being on tour. They wouldn’t be in the same place for long and maybe it would be too stressful for the puppy but a kennel was out of the question and they had other choice but to bring him along.

Once again Charlene had suggested postponing the wedding until after the tour and once again Urs had told her no. Everything had been planned and postponing the wedding was not an option. The wedding was only a month away and the invitations had been sent out and they couldn’t change it now. Charlene had to admit that she didn’t want to postpone the wedding either but she was doing it for Urs. She was afraid that he would not be able to enjoy the day because of the tour but Urs had reassured her that he would enjoy the day because it was their wedding day and no tour could or would ruin that.

Monique and David had been talking about starting a family. They had only been married for a month but they had been together for a long time and they both felt like the time was right for baby Millers. David would make a great dad and Monique could just imagine him holding their baby with a big smile on his face. They both knew that it could be a long time before anything happened but they were both ok with that. It would happen when the time was right and it didn’t really matter when it happened.

After returning to Séb’s apartment, Deanna had moved her things into Séb’s bedroom. There was no need for them to sleep in separate bedrooms anymore and they had turned the old bedroom into an office for Deanna. Deanna had been job hunting and she had been lucky to get a job in Megan’s business. She was now in charge of booking appointments, making layouts for the website and taking care of decorations. At first she had been a bit worried about accepting the job offer because working with family was never a good idea but it was actually nice working together.

They hadn’t heard anything from Cathrine since she showed up at the dress store but Carlos knew it was only a matter of time before she would make an appearance. According to a friend of his, Catherine had moved back to London after her divorce and Carlos knew it could cause problems for the group, but mostly for Deanna and Séb. He would do whatever he could to keep her away from his friends and after finding out that Cathrine had only been with him to be close to Séb, he hated her even more.

Caitlin had forgiven Gordon and they were now back together. He had been visiting her almost every day when she was in the hospital and the old feelings had been awoken. Gordon had even popped the big question and after thinking about it, Caitlin had said yes. They haven’t set a date for the wedding yet but they would after the tour. After recovering from the stab wound, Caitlin is now back as PA for the guys and they were all happy to have her back. She was definitely the best PA they would ever get.

----- Concert day – London -----

It was the day of the first concert and the rain was pouring down as Carlos was standing by the window of his apartment. Ever since he heard that Cathrine was back in London, he had been thinking a lot about what to do. A part of him wanted to tell Megan about Cathrine but he wasn’t sure if it was a good idea. Megan had a temper and he knew that if someone tried to hurt her sister, she would make the person suffer.

“Are you worried about the concert?” Megan asked as she joined him by the window, holding Bailey.

“No I’m not,” Carlos turned to look at her.

“Something is wrong. I can see it. Tell me what it is,” Megan looked at him.

“I’m not sure it’s a good idea,” Carlos walked away.

“You’re really scaring me, Carlos. Since you don’t want to tell me what it is, I assume it has something to do with me or my sister,” Megan said.

“Cathrine is back in London,” Carlos told her.

“What?” Megan looked at him.

“She divorced her husband and is now living in London. I’m not sure but I think she came back here to be close to Séb,” Carlos replied.

“If she does anything to split up my sister and Séb, I swear that I will hurt her,” Megan said.

“I know you will and I will help you but let’s not think about her anymore,” Carlos suggested.

Megan nodded her head in agreement as she walked over to him. As she sat down next to him on the couch, she wasn’t happy about Cathrine being back. It looked like the conversation they had at the dress store hadn’t been enough to make Cathrine disappear for good and it made Megan angry. She knew that Cathrine would be at the concert and that she would do whatever she could to get close to Séb but for Cathrine to get to Séb, she would have to deal with her first.

Deanna was a trained cop and she could take care of herself but Megan still had this urge to protect her sister and no matter how old they got, Deanna would be her baby sister. The urge to protect each other had always been strong in the family but it wasn’t a blessing at all and that urge had caused the deaths of their parents. She hadn’t been happy when Deanna informed her that she wanted to be a cop but Deanna was just as stubborn as the rest of the family and talking her out of it would have been a waste of time.

“Don’t think about Cathrine,” Carlos said, bringing Megan back to his world.

“I wasn’t thinking about her, I was thinking about my sister,” Megan sighed.

“She can take care of herself. Your sister is strong and she knows how to deal with a nutcase like Cathrine. She isn’t the first nutcase that Deanna had to deal with,” Carlos reminded her.

“I know but the last nutcase almost killed my sister,” Megan looked at him.

“That’s true but I don’t think Cathrine would pull a gun at Deanna. That is not her thing,” Carlos explained.

“I hope so for her sake,” Megan firmly stated.

“Now can we agree on not talking about her anymore?” Carlos questioned.

“Yes,” Megan smiled.

Carlos kissed her and Megan cuddled up to him. They just sat there without saying anything but both of them were thinking about what would happen if Cathrine did show up at tonight’s concert.

Deanna was in the office, making a few adjustments to Megan’s website when Séb walked in with two cups of coffee. Séb could see that Deanna was really focused on what she was doing and he knew that she wouldn’t be satisfied until it was perfect. He walked over to her and placed the cup on the desk as he sat down next to her. She turned her head and smiled at him.

“Thanks. Coffee was just what I needed,” Deanna kissed him.

“You’re welcome. It looks good,” Séb pointed at the screen.

“Yes it’s not that bad. What time is it?” Deanna asked, sipping her coffee.

“We still have two hours before we have to be at the venue,” Séb winked.

“I have to finish this or my sister will kill me,” Deanna looked at him.

“How much work do you have left?” Séb ran his fingers over her arm.

“I just need 10 more minutes,” Deanna replied.

“Ok, I will be in the living room,” Séb kissed her and left the office.

Deanna took another sip of her coffee before she returned to the website. She added a few more pictures and some text before she called Megan to tell her that the website had been updated. After hanging up the phone, she turned off the computer and grabbed her cup before she went into the living room to be with her boyfriend as promised. Séb smiled at her and before she could say anything, he stood and took her hand in his. He softly kissed her hand before he led her into the bedroom for a nap. Deanna cuddled up to him and they fell asleep in each other’s arms.

It was 4 pm when the Divos arrived at the venue for the soundcheck and as usual a lot of fans were waiting for them. The guys were running a bit late but they couldn’t just walk into the venue without spending a few minutes with their fans. Matt, the tour manager, was getting a bit impatient and he told the guys it was time to leave. The guys entered the venue and Matt looked at them, shaking his head. He knew that nothing he said would change anything so he decided not to say anything.

While the guys were at the venue, all of the girls were at Séb’s place getting ready to join the guys at the venue. Megan watched Deanna closely and she couldn’t remember the last time she had seen her sister this happy. It made her wish that Cathrine would stay away because Deanna deserved to be happy but deep down she knew that Cathrine would make an appearance. Maybe it wouldn’t be tonight but Cathrine would show her ugly face at some point and when she did, she would wish that she had stayed away.

“Problems?” Charlene asked Megan.

“Nothing I can’t handle,” Megan replied.

“You don’t want to talk about it. I accept that,” Charlene smiled.

Megan wanted to tell Charlene about Cathrine but she didn’t want everyone to worry and maybe Cathrine would only attend one concert. If Cathrine showed up at more concerts around the world, they would have to consider that she was stalking them but for now, they couldn’t really do anything.

Gordon picked up the girls as agreed and he dropped them off at the venue. Once they were inside, Caitlin met up with them and escorted them down to the dressing rooms. After spending some time with the guys, the girls found their seats and Megan kept looking around the venue to see if Cathrine was there but it was impossible to determine in a sold out venue.

As the lights were dimmed and the music started playing, people began to call out for the guys to appear on the stage. All four Divos appeared on stage and they looked happy to be back. They performed a few songs before David bid everyone welcome. He briefly mentioned his wedding before introducing the next song. Carlos could see that Megan had problems keeping her focus on the concert and he knew why. He hadn’t seen Cathrine but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t there.

In what seemed like no time at all, it was time for the intermission and the guys left the stage. The girls looked around the venue and they listened to the conversations surrounding them. Séb hadn’t told anyone that he was dating Deanna but that didn’t bother Deanna at all. Deanna felt better knowing that they didn’t know she was his girlfriend and if they could keep it that way, she would be happy. When she worked as a bodyguard, she had to be undercover most of the time and she felt comfortable when people didn’t know who she was.

Once again the lights were dimmed and the guys returned to the stage. The reactions to the guys’ performance said it all. They were a huge success and the four Divo girls looked at each other with smiles on their faces. The guys were doing great and they enjoyed every minute of it. David gave his usual speech, telling the audience it was time to say goodbye. Of course that was not something the fans agreed with and they had to sing two more songs before they could leave the stage.

The girls left the venue and as they were waiting for the guys to get changed, Megan looked around to see if the witch was there but there was no sign of her. Megan’s behavior was making Deanna wonder what was going on and she couldn’t explain why but she had a strange feeling that is was something serious. She wanted to ask but she had to wait until they were alone.

It was about 20 minutes later when the Divos left the venue and they were met by a crowd of fans, hoping to get pictures and autographs. As David, Urs and Séb were talking to the fans, Carlos seemed to be looking around and it confirmed Deanna’s feeling that something was really wrong. It wasn’t until the guys said goodbye to their fans that she saw the reason why her sister and Carlos had been acting strange. Deanna felt the anger burning inside of her as she stared at Cathrine.

Séb walked over to Deanna but she didn’t look at him and he turned around to see Cathrine standing there with a smile on her face. They both watched as Cathrine walked over to them and Séb could feel that Deanna was about to explode. He put his arm around her waist and held her tight, hoping to keep her from hitting Cathrine.

“Hello Sébastien. Aren’t you going to say hello to me?” Cathrine smiled at him.

“What are you doing here?” Séb looked at her.

“I’ve been at the concert. I had no idea there was a law against that,” Cathrine replied.

“No, I mean what are you doing in London?” Séb questioned.

“Oh, I live here now. I left my husband and I decided to move back here to be closer to my family and you,” she answered as she touched Séb’s arm.

“Touch him again and I will break your hand,” Deanna angrily said.

“I’m not afraid of you,” Cathrine laughed.

“You should be,” Deanna said and walked over to the car.

“I thought she'd never leave. Would you like to join me for a drink?” Cathrine asked Séb.

“No! I don’t want anything to do with you,” Séb responded and joined Deanna in the car.

“You will have something to do with me. Don’t think you’ve seen the last of me because you haven’t,” Cathrine said to herself as the cars drove off.

Chapter 27

The Divos had just finished the Manchester concert and judging by the response from the fans, they had done a great job as always. After the Divos had left the stage, the audience started walking out of the venue. The Divo partners listened to the fans’ comments about the concert and hearing those comments made them proud. Of course the fans mentioned that Séb forgot the first line of ‘Everytime I look at you’ but they loved him for those mistakes.

“That is all because of you,” Megan teased Deanna.

“What? It’s not my fault that he forgets his lines,” Deanna was offended.

“Well, actually it is. He was looking at you when the band started playing so technically it is your fault,” Monique laughed.

“Ok. If it makes you all feel better, then it was my fault,” Deanna sighed.

While the girls were with the guys, some of the fans had gathered outside of the venue, hoping to get pictures and autographs. The fans were aware that the Divos might not be able to stay long because they had to leave for Dublin but just a few minutes would be enough. After about twenty minutes, the Divos left the venue and the fans instantly gathered around them, giving the girls a chance to leave the venue without getting any attention. The Divos spend some time with the fans before they joined the girls in the cars.

“I can’t believe that we haven’t heard anything from Cathrine since we were in London. I guess you scared her away,” Carlos looked at Deanna.

“Well, Deanna is a tough lady and Cathrine knows better than to mess with a former cop and bodyguard,” Séb continued, taking Deanna’s hand.

“We haven’t seen the last of her. Cathrine will be back soon and something tells me that she is not after Séb,” Deanna told them.

“Then who is she after?” Séb asked.

“The only person standing in the way of the two of you being together,” Megan answered, looking towards her sister.

“No! We are not going through that again,” Séb ran his fingers through his hair.

“Megan is right. I think the target is me but unlike Lucy, Cathrine isn’t capable of shooting a person. She would not do it herself,” Deanna explained.

“I can’t believe I’m hearing this. You’re actually telling me that even though you’re no longer working as a cop or a bodyguard, you are still in danger?” Séb voiced his concern.

“I’m sorry but yes. That is what I am telling you,” Deanna replied.

Séb just looked at Deanna without saying anything and it made Deanna worried. It just seemed like history was repeating itself in more ways than one. Not only was she in danger again but she could also lose Séb because he couldn’t live with the danger. It brought back memories to that night when Jason had ended the relationship with her.

Deanna returned home after a rough day at work. All she wanted to do was to put up her feet and relax with a good movie and a glass of wine but as soon as she walked through the door, she knew that the night wouldn’t be as expected. She was met by her boyfriend, Jason, and the look on his face told her that he wasn’t in a good mood. He looked like he had been drinking and the beer bottle in his hand confirmed that.

“You’re late again,” Jason said with anger in his voice.

“I know and I’m sorry about that. The job took longer than expected,” Deanna apologized.

“Haven’t you heard of a phone?” Jason asked.

“You know that I can’t call when I’m working. It could ruin everything and put my client’s life in danger,” Deanna replied, kicking off her shoes.

“That’s right. I forgot that your clients come before me,” Jason sipped his beer.

Deanna wasn’t in the mood to argue with Jason, especially not when he had been drinking. He had never been violent or anything but he did have a bad temper and she knew him well enough to know that he could blow up any minute.

“I will take a shower and then we can talk,” Deanna told him.

“There is nothing to talk about,” Jason disappeared into the living room.

Letting out a sigh, Deanna walked into the bathroom to have a shower. She turned on the water and allowed the water to warm up the tiles while she removed her clothes. The water felt good on her tired body and she could feel the muscles relaxing. She felt good after her shower and after putting on some comfortable clothes, she walked into the kitchen to get a glass of wine.

Jason was in the living room when Deanna walked in but he didn’t look at her. Deanna hoped it meant that he didn’t want to talk but she was wrong about that. As soon as she sat down, Jason got up and glanced at her. The anger in his eyes alerted her that this could be a long night and that was the last thing she needed. She just wanted a nice evening with her boyfriend. Was that too much to ask for?

“This is the third time this week that you’ve been late,” Jason raised his voice.

“I know and I’m sorry but I don’t have a 9 to 5 job like other people do,” Deanna reminded him.

“I know that and that’s the problem,” Jason yelled.

“Do you have a problem with my job? You knew what I was doing for a living when we started dating,” Deanna yelled back.

“Yes but I never expected it to be like this,” Jason looked at her.

“Like what?” Deanna asked.

“That you’re out at night having a good time while I’m sitting here, wondering if you will make it home,” Jason answered.

“Having a good time? Do you think getting shot at and stabbed is my idea of a good time?” Deanna stood.

“You must like it. If you didn’t like it, then you wouldn’t do it,” Jason finished his beer.

“I am trying to keep people safe. I might end up getting hurt doing it but if I can make a difference, then it has all been worth it,” Deanna told him.

“You risk your life to safe strangers but you don’t even think about what it is doing to the people who love and care for you. Your mom accepted that when your dad left for work in the morning, it could be the last time she would see him alive but I’m not your mom. I can’t do it any longer,” Jason told her.

“What are you saying?” Deanna asked him.

“It’s over. I can’t be with you anymore. I will be back tomorrow to pick up my things,” Jason coldly said.

Deanna watched as he left the living room and she stayed in the living room until she heard the door close.

*End of flashback*

When Deanna returned to the real world, she noticed that Megan was staring at her. Deanna smiled at Megan but when Megan didn’t smile back, Deanna knew she was in trouble. The stare meant that they needed to talk but Deanna didn’t want to talk about it. In her opinion there was nothing to talk about. History was just repeating itself and there was nothing she could do to stop it from happening. She was no longer working as a bodyguard but somehow it still managed to come back and haunt her.

The car stopped at the airport and after checking in, they were shown into a room where they would be waiting until they could board the plane. While the others took a seat at the table, Deanna was standing by the window. She wasn’t in a chatty mood but she knew it would only be a matter of time before Megan wanted to talk to her. All she could do was to hope that Megan would wait until the next day. It had been a long day and Deanna just wanted to climb into a nice bed and sleep.

In an apartment in London, Cathrine was enjoying a glass of wine with ‘Ancora’ playing in the background. She had found a box with pictures from the time when she was dating Carlos and it brought back a lot of memories. When she looked at the pictures she had to admit they looked good together and it could have worked out if she hadn’t been in love with Séb. A smile appeared on her face as she thought of how she had managed to fool the Divos and everyone around them.

Cathrine finished the wine and turned off the music. She still had a lot of things to do before she had to leave in the morning. After turning off the lights in the living room, Cathrine made her way into the bedroom to pack her things. If everything worked out as she had planned, she would never return to this place. She laughed as she put the last things into the suitcase and locked it. Tomorrow would be the beginning of a new adventure for her and she wouldn’t let anything stop her from getting what she wanted.

The Divos and their partners had boarded the plane and everyone but Deanna was having a good time. Séb’s reaction in the car had given her a lot to think about and she wasn’t sure of what to do. She had finally found the man she wanted to be with for the rest of her life but it just seemed like she wasn’t allowed to be happy. Deanna looked at Séb who was talking to David. He hadn’t said a word to her since they were in the car and she wasn’t sure of what that meant. Was he angry at her? Was he thinking of ending the relationship?

It was an hour later when the plane landed in Dublin. Two cars were waiting for them when they left the airport and as soon as they arrived at the hotel, they were shown into the restaurant to have a light dinner but Deanna told her friends that she wasn’t feeling well. She excused herself before heading over to the elevator and Megan watched her closely. Megan looked at Carlos and he nodded his head. She kissed him before joining Deanna at the elevator.

“Speak,” Megan demanded as they were in the elevator.

“Not now. I’m not the in mood,” Deanna sighed.

“What is going on with you?” Megan asked, stroking Deanna’s cheek.

“It’s happening again. History is repeating itself, that’s what’s wrong,” Deanna answered.

“Are we talking about Lucy, Jason or both?” Megan looked at her.

“We’re talking about Lucy and Jason but can this wait until tomorrow? I’m exhausted and I need some sleep,” Deanna begged as the elevator stopped.

“No! We need to talk about it now,” Megan snapped as they left the elevator.

“Did you just snap at me?” Deanna asked.

“It’s the only way I can make you listen,” Megan firmly stated.

Deanna opened the door to the suite and the two sisters walked inside. As she put down the suitcase, Deanna looked at Megan. Deanna grabbed a bottle of water from the minibar before sitting down on the bed. She took a sip of the bottle and handed it to Megan.

“You’re afraid that Séb will do what Jason did, aren’t you?” Megan asked, taking the bottle.

“Yes I am. You saw the look on Séb’s face and his reaction when I told him that Cathrine might be trying to get rid of me to get him,” Deanna stood and opened the doors to the balcony.

“Listen to me. There is a difference between then and now. You’re no longer working as a bodyguard and you are not putting your life in danger anymore. If Cathrine tries to hurt you, then it’s not because of your job and he has no reason to dump you. She is a nutcase who wants something she can’t have,” Megan looked at her.

“I know you’re right but I don’t know what the look on his face meant and that worries me,” Deanna said as she turned to look at Megan.

“He loves you. That’s all you need to know. You should give him more credit,” Megan walked over to her.

“What would I do without you?” Deanna hugged her.

“I don’t know,” Megan laughed.

“Go downstairs to your boyfriend,” Deanna told her.

“Are you coming?” Megan reached out her hand.

“No. I’m really not feeling well,” Deanna said.

“Ok. I will see you in the morning. Goodnight sis,” Megan left the room.

Once Megan had left, Deanna returned to the balcony. The stars were twinkling in the sky and the moon looked bigger than normal. Deanna heard the door open and she turned around to see Séb standing there. He walked over to her and pulled her into his arms.

“I’m sorry for reacting the way I did but the thought of losing you just freaked me out. Images from the night you were shot just came back into my head and it’s not something I want to go through again,” Séb said, removing a strand of hair from her forehead.

“Believe me. I don’t want to get shot again,” Deanna looked into his eyes.

“Good. Let’s get some sleep,” Séb whispered before kissing her deeply.

Chapter 28

Deanna woke up the next morning after a rather restless night. She hadn’t been able to get the conversation with Megan, Carlos and Séb out of her head. Cathrine would show her ugly face again and Deanna knew she had to be careful. She had been dealing with a lot of crazy people working as a cop and bodyguard but this was a bit different. The person she had to protect this time was herself. Deanna didn’t know why but she just had the feeling that Cathrine would never hurt Séb. Maybe she really was in love with him.

Séb was still sleeping next to her. Deanna listened to his breathing as she watched his chest rise and fall. She gently outlined his facial features with her index finger and she smiled when Séb began to stir. It came as a big surprise to Deanna when he turned onto his side and completely ignored her. Deanna let out a sigh as she rose from the bed and made her way to the bathroom.

As soon as he heard the door close, Séb turned onto his back and opened his eyes. He watched the door and waited for Deanna to come back. When the door opened, Deanna noticed that Séb was awake but she decided to just ignore him. She walked over to her suitcase to get some clothes before returning to the bathroom to have a shower. After Deanna had closed the bathroom door, Séb stretched his body before he rose from the bed. He made his way to the bathroom and opened the door to see Deanna in the shower. With a smile on his face, Séb undressed and stepped into the shower.

“What are you doing in here?” Deanna asked as she turned to look at him.

“I’m having a shower,” Séb answered with a smile.

“Ok. I will just leave then,” Deanna said, opening the door.

“Not so fast. There’s more than enough room in here for two people,” Séb winked as he pulled her into him.

“What are you up to?” Deanna asked him.

“Isn’t it obvious?” Séb replied before he kissed her.

He gently pushed her up against the wall as he held her hands above her head. As he placed soft kisses on her neck, Séb knew that she was completely under his spell. The water was cascading down their bodies as they were making love in the shower.

“What is the schedule for today?” Deanna wanted to know as they were getting dressed.

“I’m all yours until two o’clock,” Séb answered with a smile.

“That sounds good. I was thinking of doing some sightseeing and maybe have lunch somewhere,” Deanna said.

“I like that idea but first we should get some breakfast. Then we can discuss where to go,” Séb suggested as he held out his hand to her.

Deanna placed her hand in his and the two of them left the hotel room. They walked downstairs to the breakfast room where they met Megan and Carlos. Megan informed them that Urs and Charlene would join them later as they had some wedding stuff to take care of. The wedding was only a few weeks away and being on tour only left them with little time to get everything ready. David and Monique wanted to do some sightseeing so they had left the hotel early. After getting something to eat, the two couples were enjoying their breakfast.

“Deanna and I will do some sightseeing too. Do you want to join us?” Séb asked Megan and Carlos.

“Sure. That sounds like fun,” Megan agreed as she looked at Carlos who nodded his head in agreement.

“Great. Let’s finish our breakfast and get out of here,” Deanna said as she sipped her orange juice.

They finished their breakfast and left the hotel. The sun was shining and the sky only hosted a few clouds. Séb had brought a map of the city and they made their way to Dublin Castle. Nobody in the streets recognized them and both Divos enjoyed walking around with their partners without being recognized. They loved their fans and enjoyed talking to them but sometimes it was nice to just be a normal person, leading a normal life.

Monique and David were having breakfast in a small but very cozy café. Just like his friends, David enjoyed his time with his partner and they had only encountered one fan who wanted his signature for her daughter. David was looking at Monique who seemed a bit distracted. She hadn’t said much since they arrived at the café and it made him a bit worried. Normally she would be talking and laughing but not this morning.

“Are you ok babe?” David asked with concern in his voice.

“I’m fine. Just a little tired,” Monique answered.

“You look a little pale and you’re not eating much,” David pointed out.

“Well, I’ve been feeling weird for a few days but it’s probably just a bug. Nothing to worry about,” Monique said.

“You don’t think that you’re pregnant, do you?” David looked at her.

“I don’t know. The thought has crossed my mind but I don’t think I am,” Monique told him.

“I would feel a lot better if we knew for sure what is wrong,” David said as he took her hand.

“So would I. Maybe we should find a pharmacy and get a test?” Monique suggested.

“That sounds like a good idea. Now finish your breakfast,” David kissed her hand.

Fifteen minutes later, David and Monique were on their way to a pharmacy to get a pregnancy test. David had high hopes but Monique reminded him that she might not be pregnant. She didn’t want him to get too excited in because if she wasn’t pregnant, David would be disappointed. Monique knew how much he wanted a baby and she would hate to disappoint him.

After picking up the pregnancy test, they walked back to the hotel. Monique walked straight into the bathroom to take the test and now they just had to wait for the result. It seemed to take forever and David was pacing up and down the floor. He couldn’t relax until they had the result. He looked towards the door, waiting for his wife to join him but the door remained closed. David was getting impatient and he was about to knock on the door when he heard the door open. Monique came out of the bathroom, holding the pregnancy test in her hand. David wanted to hear the result but Monique just stared at him without saying anything.

“Are we having a baby?” David asked her.

Urs and Charlene were walking around in Dublin, sightseeing and looking for some stuff for their wedding. They couldn’t wait to celebrate their big day with their families and friends. Charlene was looking forward to showing her bridesmaids their dresses and she really hoped they would like them. The dresses and the suits were at her parents’ manor because she didn’t want to bring them along on tour. Her parents would bring them when they arrived in Southampton for the wedding.

After getting the stuff they needed, Urs and Charlene continued their sightseeing. They walked to the National Museum and they were surprised to see Séb, Deanna, Megan and Carlos there but it was a nice surprise. The three couples decided to finish the sightseeing together and end the sightseeing with lunch. Carlos sent a text message to David, asking him if they wanted to join them for lunch at the hotel around noon. He wondered why David didn’t reply because normally he would reply right away.

“What’s wrong Carlos?” Urs questioned his friend.

“David hasn’t replied. I really hope they are ok,” Carlos responded.

“I’m sure they are fine. Maybe they are busy doing something,” Urs said with a smile.

“You’re probably right. They are still newlyweds,” Carlos agreed.

After spending half an hour at the museum, they left and continued with the sightseeing. As they were walking down the street, Carlos received a text message from David. Carlos read the message but he was surprised to see such a short message from David. The only word in the message was yes and that was very unlike David. Carlos told his friends that David and Monique would be at the hotel restaurant at noon. It was almost 11.45 as the three couples returned to the hotel.

Monique and David were already there when the other couples walked into the restaurant. David spotted them and waved them over to the table. Once they were seated, the waiter brought them some menus and asked what they wanted to drink. Since the guys had a soundcheck two hours later, they all ordered sodas. After they had placed their orders, the Divos talked about tonight’s concert and the girls were talking about the upcoming wedding. The girls were just as excited about the wedding as Charlene was. The waiter arrived with their food and the couples enjoyed themselves until the guys had to leave for the venue.

It was almost 4 pm when the guys had finished the soundcheck. Urs was in a meeting with Simon and the other guys wondered what was going on but they didn’t want to ask questions. If he wanted them to know, Urs would tell them later. After spending about twenty minutes with Simon, Urs called Charlene to tell her the good news. He could have waited until she arrived at the venue but he couldn’t wait that long. Charlene was thrilled to hear that everything had worked out. Simon sure knew how to get things done.

Back at the hotel, the girls were in Deanna’s suite having a good time. They still had a few hours to kill before they had to go to the venue for the concert. Charlene was dying to tell her friends the good news from Simon but it would ruin everything. She wanted the wedding to be a surprise but it wasn’t easy keeping it a secret and the girls kept asking her questions. Charlene told them it would be a wonderful wedding but she couldn’t give them any more information. The girls accepted her decision and changed the subject.

At the venue, the guys were in their dressing rooms. It was almost time for them to do the Meet & Greets. They met with Gordon who had been assigned to make sure the Meet & Greets went as planned and he showed the guys into a large room. He briefly informed them of what would happen because they had made a few changes to the procedure. It seemed like these new changes would give the guys more time to talk to the fans and they all liked the idea.

As the guys were lining up for the Meet & Greet, the fans were waiting for Gordon to pick them up. He looked at his watch as he walked to the entrance. Once there, he explained the procedure to the fans before asking them to follow him. The fans were excited about meeting the guys and it made Gordon smile to hear what they said. It didn’t take long to get to the room and Gordon brought the first two ladies into the room. All of the guys were in a good mood and it made the fans relax.

While the guys were doing the Meet & Greets, the girls had arrived at the venue. Caitlin was waiting for them at the back entrance as Simon had arranged. She found it a bit strange but she knew that Simon must have had his reason for doing so. The reason wasn’t any of her business but she had a feeling that he was trying to make sure that nothing happened to the girls. Caitlin knew that Cathrine had been at the London concert and she had a feeling that it had something to do with her.

Caitlin and the girls found their seats and Deanna noticed something strange as she looked around. It seemed like Simon’s own security team was there because she spotted Brian at one of the entrances. Brian was the one who had been her back up when Lucy tried to kill her. If he hadn’t been there, Lucy might have gotten away with it. Memories from that evening entered her mind and she shook her head to get rid of them again. Seeing Brian there made her wonder if Cathrine was around again. She would have to talk to Simon about that later.

As the lights were dimmed, the music started playing. The guys appeared on stage and it was time for them to do their thing again. David was in an extremely good mood and he gave everything he had at the concert. The man was singing his lungs out and the audience loved it. Even the guys seemed surprised about the change in David. Nothing else had changed in Divo world. Carlos was flirting as always, Urs was giving blinky winks to the fans and Séb had the giggles. Urs had to take over because Séb couldn’t stop laughing. The girls were having a good time at the concert too but before they knew it, the concert was over.

After a few more songs, the guys left the stage and walked down to their dressing rooms. Deanna and the girls were on their way to the dressing rooms when Simon called out her name. He told her that he needed to speak to her right now and Deanna knew it couldn’t be good. She followed him into a room where Brian and a few of the other security guards were seated.

“I assume this has to do with Cathrine?” Deanna asked as she looked at Simon.

“It does. We will put up extra security at the venues and the security teams will be instructed not to let her into the venue,” Simon replied.

“What is it that you’re not telling me?” Deanna looked at him.

“I received this earlier today,” Simon responded, handing her a letter.

Deanna opened the letter and read it before she gave it back to Simon. Cathrine was threatening Deanna but it wasn’t only because of Séb. It had to do with Lucy too. It seemed like Cathrine was convinced that Deanna had been the one who killed Lucy and now she was looking for revenge.

“This woman is a nightmare but if she wants a war, then that’s what she will get. I’m not afraid of her,” Deanna angrily said.

“I know you’re not. You can take care of yourself but I don’t want you to get hurt,” Simon said.

“Don’t worry. I won’t get hurt. I’ve been dealing with a lot of wackos in my life, both as a cop and as a bodyguard but dealing with them only made me stronger. I will be careful,” Deanna promised him.

“I know you will. However, I’m not changing the security. You just have to live with more security guards at the venues from now on. I will see you back at the hotel,” Simon told her.

Deanna left the room and walked to Séb’s dressing room. Just as she turned around a corner, Séb showed up. He could see that something was bothering her and he wanted to know what it was. Deanna didn’t want him to worry but she didn’t want to hide it from him. As they walked towards the exit, Deanna filled him in on the letter and her meeting with Simon. Séb couldn’t believe what he was hearing but he knew there was nothing he could do about it. They could give the letter to the police but if they couldn’t find Cathrine, then what good would it do?

“Just promise me that you will be careful,” Séb said as he stopped and looked at her.

“I promise. I will be fine. I’m more concerned about you than me,” Deanna touched his cheek.

Séb smiled at her as he took her hand. They met the other couples outside and climbed into the cars that would take them back to the hotel. As they walked into the lobby at the hotel, the young girl told them that their table was ready. The couples entered the restaurant and found their table. David had ordered food and drinks from the car so everything was ready for them. After finishing their dinner, the couples said their goodnights and went to their rooms to get some sleep before they had to leave Dublin.

Chapter 29

Il Divo had been touring the UK for a little over a month now and after a sold out concert in Bournemouth, it was time for their first break before they had to finish the European Tour. Charlene and Urs were more excited about the break than the other couples because the moment they had been waiting for had finally arrived. It was time for Charlene Dawson to become Mrs. Urs Buhler.

Monique and David were expecting a baby. The home pregnancy test had been positive but Monique had never trusted those things so she went to the doctor to get a confirmation. She was excited when she told David about the result and he wanted to call everyone they knew but Monique told him no because she wasn’t that far along. Monique had given him permission to tell his family and the Divos but that was it. A lot of things could go wrong. David knew she was right and he agreed to it.

Séb was excited about becoming an uncle and he was happy for David and Monique. The only thing that made him sad was that their parents would not meet their grandchild and even though she hadn’t said it out loud, Séb knew that Monique felt the same way. Ever since David told them about the baby, Séb had been thinking about his own life and what he wanted for the future. He couldn’t wait to start a family of his own with the woman who had his heart.

Megan’s business was still blooming and she had been forced to hire another person to help out in the store. It was a bit upsetting to her that she had to leave so much to her employees but both ladies had told her to stop worrying and just enjoy her time with Carlos. She had been in contact with them every day and she knew they were doing a good job.

At the hotel, the Divo couples, Charlene’s parents and Urs’ parents were having a late dinner in the restaurant. Thomas and Michaela Buhler had arrived early in the morning because they wanted to spend some time with their son and daughter in law before the concert. Dorothy and Stanley Dawson had arrived a few hours before the concert and as promised, they had brought the dresses and the suits.

“When will you tell us more about the wedding?” Carlos asked.

“Well, you have to try on the suits tomorrow and the girls have to try on the dresses but that’s about all of the info we will share with you,” Urs replied with a smile.

“Without revealing too much, we can tell you that we are leaving for Southampton tomorrow right after noon,” Charlene added.

“Are you getting married in Southampton?” David looked at them.

“We didn’t say that,” Charlene smiled at him.

“If it makes you guys feel better, they didn’t even tell us anything,” Stanley told David.

“We don’t know anything either. I think it’s the most secretive wedding I’ve ever attended,” Michaela looked at Urs.

“Don’t worry. Tomorrow when we get to Southampton, we will tell you everything you need to know about the wedding,” Urs promised.

“Guess we just have to wait. Well, let’s raise our glasses and wish the happy couple all the best for the future,” Thomas said.

It was almost midnight when they left the restaurant and went to their rooms. They all needed some rest after the concert. Once they were in their suite, Charlene kicked off her shoes and walked over to the balcony door. She opened the door and walked out onto the balcony. As she stood there, Urs walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

“Are you ok?” Urs asked her.

“I’m fine. I just can’t believe that in less than 48 hours, you and I will be married,” Charlene answered as she turned around, still locked in Urs’ embrace.

“I know. After all this time it’s really happening,” Urs looked deep into her eyes.

“Well, we should get some sleep,” Charlene yawned.

“You’re right. We should go to bed but I can’t promise you that you will get much sleep,” Urs said with a smile.

Charlene kissed him and slipped out of his embrace. As she walked into the living room, Urs closed the balcony door and joined her inside. They got ready for the night and Charlene was already in bed when Urs walked into the bedroom. With a smile on his face, he climbed into bed and pulled Charlene into his arms.

Monique was sleeping when David walked into the bedroom. The lamp on the night table was on so he turned off the other lights and climbed into bed next to his wife. David turned onto his side and rested his head on his hand as he looked at Monique. She looked so beautiful and he could stare at her forever. As he removed a strand of hair from her face, she opened her eyes and looked around.

“Was I sleeping?” Monique asked him.

“Yes. I didn’t mean to wake you up,” David answered with a smile.

“I’m sorry for falling asleep but I was just so tired,” Monique apologized.

“No need to apologize. I’m tired too. It has been a long day and we should get some sleep. Come here,” David said as he pulled her close.

Monique cuddled up to him and she loved feeling David’s arms around her. He knew how to make her feel safe and she couldn’t think of a place she would rather be. David turned out the light and kissed Monique softly. The couple drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms.

“I can’t wait to see what Charlene and Urs have planned for their wedding. They could have said something. We don’t even know what the dresses look like,” Megan said to Carlos.

“We don’t know what the suits look like either but I really don’t think we’ve got anything to worry about. Charlene and Urs both have great taste and I doubt they would pick outfits that would make us look stupid,” Carlos looked at her.

“I know that but I’m just curious. I can’t help it. It’s in my blood,” Megan laughed.

“Well, we will find out tomorrow. Now let’s go to bed,” Carlos suggested.

“That sounds like a good idea. We could use a good night’s sleep,” Megan agreed.

“Who said anything about sleeping?” Carlos wiggled his eyebrows.

“I did but if you have other ideas, I’d like to hear them,” Megan smiled at him.

“Come with me and I will tell you my ideas,” Carlos took her hand and led her into the bedroom.

Deanna was in the living room, working on her laptop. Since she couldn’t sleep, she decided to add the newest pictures to Megan’s website. She grabbed a bottle of water from the minibar and returned to the laptop. There was about ten pictures that needed to be added to the site but it wouldn’t take her long to do that. As soon as she had finished adding the pictures, she closed the laptop and walked over to the window.

As she looked out into the pitch black night, the call from Simon two days earlier kept entering her mind. She hadn’t told Séb about the call yet because she didn’t want him to worry about her. Deanna couldn’t decide if she should tell him now that they were on a break or wait until after the tour. She hated keeping things from him but he had Il Divo to think about.

“Having problems sleeping again?” Séb suddenly asked.

“Yes. I thought you were sleeping,” Deanna answered without looking at him.

“I was but something was missing. What’s going on, Deanna?” Séb walked over to her.

“Nothing is going on. I’ve just got a lot to think about,” Deanna turned around.

“I have an idea what it is but I don’t want to think about her now. Come to bed and I will give you something else to think about,” Séb said as he touched her face.

“I hate you for doing that,” Deanna said to him.

“No you don’t,” Séb pulled her into a kiss.

Séb lifted her into his arms and carried her into the bedroom. He wanted to take her mind off Catherine, at least for now.

------ The next day ------

When they arrived in Southampton, they couldn’t believe their eyes. In front of them was a cruise ship and they instantly knew that the ship would be their home for the weekend. A cruise on board ‘Independence of the Seas’ was just what they needed. Urs and Charlene smiled as they gestured for their friends to follow them. The ship was amazing and they couldn’t wait to explore the ship. Once they had gotten the keys to their rooms, Urs told them to be at his room half an hour later.

Each couple found their room and they unpacked their bags before making their way to Urs’ room. Once they were there, Urs told the guys to follow him while the girls would stay with Charlene in their room. As soon as the guys had left, Charlene revealed the dresses. Charlene gave each girl a dress and asked them to put it on. Her mother arrived just as the girls were changing. She had promised to make adjustments to the dresses if needed and Charlene was grateful for the help.

Monique was the first one to show the dress and she looked stunning. She was happy that she wasn’t that far along in her pregnancy because she couldn’t fit anything else into the dress. Megan came out of the bathroom in her dress and the dress was at least one size too big but Dorothy would take care of that later. They were all waiting for Deanna to come out but she didn’t show up.

“Sis, are you ok?” Megan knocked on the door.

“I’m fine but the dress isn’t good,” Deanna responded as she touched her right shoulder.

“Come out here and let us be the judge of that,” Megan said.

Deanna took a deep breath and joined the girls. She looked beautiful and they couldn’t understand why she had told them that the dress wasn’t good. Megan looked at her sister and suddenly she discovered the reason why Deanna didn’t feel good about the dress.

“You look amazing. There is nothing wrong with that dress or you,” Megan explained to her.

“What about this?” Deanna pointed at the scar.

“Nobody will notice the scar. They will see the beautiful woman in the dress,” Megan smiled.

“Megan is right,” Monique said.

“Ok, I will wear the dress tomorrow at your wedding,” Deanna looked at Charlene.

“Thank you. We have to change. Our guests will be arriving soon,” Charlene told them.

The girls left the room about ten minutes later and they met the guys at the reception area. A few minutes later the first guests arrived and twenty minutes later, all of the wedding guests had arrived. Urs informed them that their rooms were ready for them and they followed him to the reception desk. Before they went to their rooms, Urs told them to join them in one of the bars for a drink as soon as they were ready.

The ship left Southampton at 4.30 pm and would be sailing all night. Urs, Charlene and their guests had dinner in one of the restaurants on board the ship and after a great evening, they all said goodnight and went to their rooms for a good night’s sleep.

------ Wedding day ------

The Bodyguard - Page 2 Image1-1_zps9249c6f0

“Good morning my beautiful wife to be,” Urs smiled as Charlene opened her eyes.

“Good morning. I can’t believe it’s today,” Charlene said.

“I know but it is. In about 6 hours you will be Mrs. Buhler,” Urs took her hand and kissed it.

“I’m a lucky woman,” Charlene smiled at him.

“Are you hungry? We could order some breakfast here instead of having breakfast with our guests,” Urs asked.

“I am hungry and even though it sounds tempting to have breakfast here, I think we should have breakfast with our guests,” Charlene responded.

“You’re right. Let’s get ready then,” Urs kissed her and rose from the bed.

Twenty minutes later they walked into the restaurant where their friends and family were waiting for them. It was a beautiful day but they didn’t really have time to enjoy it because they still had a lot of things to take care of. It was time for Urs to tell the guests more about the wedding. He told them that the ceremony would take place at 4 pm and dinner would be served at 6 pm. Between 4 pm and 6 pm, there would be a small reception. Once the breakfast was over, most of the guests wanted to rest for a few hours. The Divos and their partners decided to take a closer look at the ship.

When the clock hit 3.45 pm, Charlene and her bridesmaids left the room. Urs and the guys had already taken their places and Urs was getting nervous. He looked at his parents and Michaela smiled at him. It was a happy day and she couldn’t believe that her only son was getting married. At 4 pm, the doors opened and the music started playing. Urs turned and watched the woman of his dreams walking towards him. She looked beautiful in her wedding dress and Urs couldn’t take his eyes off her.

Stanley kissed Charlene’s cheek before he placed his daughter’s hand in Urs’ hand. Once he had given his daughter to Urs, Stanley walked over to his wife and sat down next to her as the minister began the ceremony. Charlene was fighting the tears of joy as the minister spoke to them and she looked at Urs who seemed to be fighting himself. He smiled at her as he squeezed her hand softly.

After exchanging the rings, the minister pronounced them husband and wife and Urs pulled his wife into a soft, yet passionate kiss. The happy couple left the ceremony room, followed by their friends and families. They were shown into the restaurant where there was something to drink and something light to eat. After congratulating the happy couple, the Divos and their partners grabbed a glass of champagne. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and it looked like Charlene and Urs had made the right choice when they decided to get married on a cruise ship.

The Divo couples were talking and having a good time. They talked about the ceremony and the wedding dress. Charlene was a beautiful bride and the dress was perfect for her. The Divos voiced their opinions too but they seemed more interested in the bridesmaid dresses. As they were talking, Megan noticed that Deanna seemed pale and she wasn’t saying much. Megan was just about to say something when Deanna grabbed Séb’s arm.

“I feel dizzy,” Deanna whispered as she put down her glass on the table.

Chapter 30

Séb reacted fast and he reached around Deanna’s waist to make sure she didn’t fall. He held her tight as he led her outside to get some fresh air. Once they were outside, he led her over to some tables and ordered her to sit down. He sat down across from her and held her hand as Megan joined them, holding a bottle of water. Megan handed the bottle to Deanna before she took a seat. As Deanna sipped the water, she noticed that Megan was staring at her.

“Stop looking at me like that. I haven’t had much to eat or drink all day and the champagne just got to me. I just need something to eat and drink and I will be fine,” Deanna explained.

“Ok. I will get you something to eat,” Megan disappeared.

“Stop scaring us like that,” Séb looked at Deanna.

“I’m sorry. Guess I shouldn’t have had that champagne on an empty stomach,” Deanna touched his face.

“Here you are,” Megan handed Deanna a plate with some snacks.

“Thanks sis. You can go back to the others and tell them that I’m fine,” Deanna took the plate.

Megan walked back inside, knowing that Séb would stay with her and make sure that she finished the plate. At the reception, they all wanted to know what was going on with Deanna and Megan told them what she knew. It was obvious that Monique didn’t believe Deanna’s story and deep down, Megan didn’t believe it either but why would Deanna lie to her? They had never kept secrets from each other so why start now? Well, they needed to talk about it later in private.

When Deanna was feeling better, they walked back to the reception and Deanna told her friends that she was fine. Urs and Charlene were happy to hear that it wasn’t anything serious and they could continue the wedding without worrying. The doors that separated the small restaurant and the main restaurant were opened and Urs asked the guests to follow him into the restaurant where dinner would be served ten minutes later. They would be seated at round tables with 8 silver covered chairs at each table.

Once everyone had found their seats, the food was served. People were talking and laughing at dinner and Urs looked at his wife with a smile. Everyone seemed to be having a good time at the wedding and they couldn’t be happier. Carlos was the best man and his speech was really outstanding. Thomas and Stanley also had some things they wanted to share about the young couple and some of those things made people laugh. Charlene felt a bit embarrassed but she knew there was nothing she could do about it.

After dinner, the guests were informed that they could spend half an hour exploring the ship while the restaurant was being prepared for the party. All of the guests left the restaurant and most of the guests walked upstairs to the sundeck to take a look at the view. The ship had left Zeebrugge and was now on its way to Le Havre where it would dock the next morning at 7 am. It would leave Le Havre at 9 pm and the ship would be back in England at 5.30 am Monday morning.

Half an hour later, they returned to the restaurant to continue the party. Coffee was served and the music had started playing. It was time for the father/daughter dance and Stanley walked over to Charlene. After they had finished their dance, Urs took over and pulled Charlene into his arms. They were completely lost in each other and didn’t notice the other people in the restaurant. The song ended and Urs led his wife back to their table.

At another table, Deanna and Megan were talking when Monique joined them. Deanna knew by the looks on their faces that they wanted to talk but she wasn’t in the mood to talk because there was nothing to talk about. She knew what they thought was wrong with her but Deanna knew they were wrong. Monique was about to say something when Séb and Carlos returned to the table and Deanna knew that she was safe, at least for now.

The time had come for Urs and Charlene to cut the cake. They had decided to wait with the cake until later in the evening because they wanted to make sure that people could eat some of it. Urs and Charlene cut the cake and after feeding each other a piece, it was time for the guests to have some cake. The cake looked delicious but Deanna didn’t want any and that made Megan even more suspicious because Deanna loved cake. It was the first time she had seen Deanna say no to a piece of cake.

“Stop looking at me like that,” Deanna said to Megan.

“Why are you not eating cake?” Megan questioned her.

“I’m not hungry,” Deanna replied.

“You and I need to talk later,” Megan looked at her.

“There is nothing to talk about but if it will make you feel better, then fine with me,” Deanna said.

The music had started playing again and people invaded the dance floor. Urs escorted his wife to the dance floor and once again they forgot about the people around them. Soon after, more couples joined them on the dance floor, including the other Divos and their partners. Normally the bride and groom would leave the party but since they were on a ship, Urs and Charlene decided to stay and celebrate their wedding with their friends and families.

Urs and Charlene were the last people to leave the restaurant. It had been the perfect wedding day and now it was time for the wedding night. Urs had been waiting for this moment since Charlene walked towards him in her wedding dress. Once they were in their room, Urs locked the door before he pulled Charlene into his arms and kissed her passionately. They began to undress each other and soon after they were making love until they fell asleep in each other’s arms.

The next morning the ship had docked in Le Havre and people were free to do whatever they wanted until they had to meet for dinner at 7 pm. Some decided to stay on the ship or take a look at Le Havre. The Divo couples, the Buhlers and the Dawsons wanted to go to Paris. Séb was the guide and he took them to all of his favorite places in Paris. He also showed them the house where he and Monique had spent most of their childhood. The house brought back a lot of childhood memories. Monique hadn’t been in Paris since their parents died and she felt bad about it but she didn’t feel like she had any connection to Paris anymore.

It was just around 3 pm when they returned to the ship. Urs and Charlene wanted to spend some private time and they went straight to their room. The other Divo couples split up and went their separate ways. Carlos and Megan wanted to explore the pools, Deanna and Séb wanted to try out the skating rink and David and Monique wanted to play some miniature golf.

After spending about an hour at the skating rink, Séb and Deanna decided to join Carlos and Megan at the pool. They went to their room to change and Séb couldn’t wait to see what Deanna looked like in the purple two piece bathing suit she had brought with her. He was a bit disappointed when she came out of the bathroom wearing a t-shirt over her bathing suit.

“I thought you were wearing the two piece bathing suit,” Séb looked at her.

“It’s under the t-shirt. I’m not walking to the pool in my bathing suit,” Deanna told him.

“Because of the scars?” Séb asked her.

“No. It has got nothing to do with my scars. I just don’t believe in walking around half naked on a ship. The pools are on deck eleven and our room is on deck nine,” Deanna replied with a smile.

“You’re right,” Séb said and put on a t-shirt before they left the room.

“You seem a bit quiet,” Carlos said to Megan.

“I’m sorry Carlos. I’m just worried about Deanna. You saw yourself that she was about to faint yesterday. I know she said it was because she hadn’t eaten much but I don’t believe her. Something is wrong,” Megan sighed.

“You don’t think she is pregnant, do you?” Carlos asked.

“The thought has crossed my mind but she is stubborn and it will be difficult to convince her to do a pregnancy test,” Megan confessed.

“Well, I still think you should talk to her and tell her that you’re worried about her,” Carlos said.

“You’re right. I have to talk to her,” Megan agreed.

Séb and Deanna came walking towards them, followed by David and Monique who had decided to join them. Deanna knew by the look on Megan’s face that she couldn’t hide any longer. Whether she wanted to or not, it was time for a sisterly chat. Megan gestured to Carlos that she needed some time alone with Deanna and he suggested that the guys went to get something to drink. As soon as the guys had left, Megan turned towards Deanna.

“How are you feeling?” Megan asked her.

“I’m fine. There is nothing wrong with me,” Deanna answered.

“Something is wrong with you. Monique, help me out here,” Megan looked at Monique.

“Megan is right,” Monique agreed.

“I know what you think is wrong with me but I’m not pregnant,” Deanna said.

“How can you be so sure about that?” Megan wanted to know.

“Because I already took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. Are you happy now?” Deanna looked at Megan.

“No I’m not happy and I won’t be happy until you see a doctor. You may not be pregnant but I really want you to see the doctor. Would you please do that for me?” Megan pleaded.

“Ok. You win,” Deanna agreed.

“Thanks,” Megan hugged her as the guys returned with some sodas.

After spending about an hour with their friends, David and Monique went to their room. Monique wanted to rest a bit before dinner. The other two couples decided to grab some coffee before they had to get ready for dinner. After saying goodbye to Séb and Deanna, Megan and Carlos walked towards their room and Megan told Carlos about her conversation with Deanna. Carlos agreed that seeing a doctor would be a good idea because he too had a feeling that something was wrong.

It was almost 7 pm when all of the wedding guests gathered at the restaurant for dinner. For Urs and Charlene it was the perfect way to say thank you to their guests for being there for them on the biggest day of their lives. The dinner went well and after dinner, most of the guests went to their rooms as they had to leave the ship early the next morning. Urs and Charlene spent half an hour with their friends and families before saying goodnight. Not long after they had left, the other Divo couples said goodnight too. It had been a great cruise and they had all enjoyed their time off.

------ Berlin – two days later -----

After the mini cruise, Il Divo was now in Berlin to continue the European part of the tour. Deanna had been at the doctor’s but he didn’t do anything because she hadn’t felt dizzy since that day at the wedding. The doctor believed it had been a bug and he told her there was nothing to worry about. Megan was happy to hear that and she could finally relax and stop worrying about Deanna.

The Divos were at the hotel restaurant, waiting for Simon to arrive. He had called for a meeting because he had some disturbing news that he wanted to share with them. When Simon arrived at the hotel, he wasn’t in a good mood and the guys knew it had to be something really bad. Simon greeted the guys and ordered some coffee before he sat down. He wasn’t sure of where to start and he wondered how the guys would react to his news.

“Are you just going to sit there?” David asked.

“I’m sorry guys but I just don’t know where to begin. You should know that we’re doing what we can to keep all of you safe, including the girls. This morning someone slipped this note under my door and I think you should read it,” Simon handed David the note.

David read the note out loud and they watched as Séb’s face turned white. The note was from Catherine and it was a threat aimed at Deanna. She would do whatever she could to get her hands on Séb and if she had to get rid of Deanna, then that is what she was prepared to do. Séb stood as he ran his fingers through his hair. It was like a bad dream and he didn’t know what to do.

“What do you guys suggest we do?” Simon asked.

“Well, first of all we don’t let Deanna be alone. Someone has to be with her from she enters the venue until she leaves,” Urs answered.

“I’ve added more security people to my teams and they have been instructed not to let Catherine into the venue. Should she manage to get in, then she won’t get near Deanna. I really don’t think there is much else we can do to protect Deanna from this lunatic but I am open to suggestions,” Simon explained.

“I suggest we inform the girls and make them promise not to leave Deanna alone. Tell them to stay together at all times, no matter what,” Carlos added.

“Do you have anything to add Séb?” Simon asked him.

“No I don’t. All I want is for your teams to keep my girlfriend safe,” Séb replied.

“They will. I suggest you talk to the girls and explain the situation to them. A car will pick them up and take them to the venue later,” Simon said before he left.

The Divos looked at each other. It was almost time for them to leave as they had a soundcheck to do before the concert. They left the restaurant and went to their suites to talk to the girls. Séb had to stay calm as he walked into the suite because he didn’t want Deanna to know about Catherine being in Berlin. When she asked about the meeting, Séb had to come up with a lie. He didn’t like it but he had to do it.

Half an hour later, the Divos left the hotel. Séb wasn’t happy about leaving Deanna at the hotel but she was not alone and that was the only comfort he had. While the guys were doing the soundcheck, the girls were getting ready for the concert. Megan and Deanna were in Megan’s suite and Deanna didn’t suspect that something was going on. She was just happy to be spending some time with Megan, just like when they were kids.

As promised, a car arrived to pick them up and take them to the venue for the concert. They were met by one of Simon’s security teams and that made Deanna suspicious. Normally it would only be one or two people but this was a team of six people. She wasn’t stupid and she knew it had something to do with Catherine but she didn’t want to ask too many questions. The security teams were good and she felt completely safe.

The girls were escorted to their seats and shortly after, the music started playing. The guys appeared on stage and they looked gorgeous as always. People were singing along to the songs and everyone was having a great time at the concert. When the guys left the stage after part one, Deanna told her friends that she wasn’t feeling well. Megan asked one of the security guards to bring Deanna to Séb’s dressing room and she told him not to leave her alone. The guard promised that he would stay with Deanna until Séb came back after part two.

Séb was in the dressing room when the security guard and Deanna arrived. The two men helped Deanna over to the couch and Séb asked the security guard to stay outside until he returned after the concert. The security guard told Séb that he had already heard that from Megan. Once the security guard had left, Séb told Deanna to rest and he would hurry back as soon as the concert was over. He kissed her and left the dressing room.

Il Divo had just started part two of the concert when the security guard who was watching Deanna was called away. Apparently there was a problem at the main entrance. Deanna was sleeping when the guard checked on her before he left. As he closed the door, Deanna woke up. She felt sick and ran into the bathroom to throw up. When she returned to the dressing room, she was met by someone she didn’t expect to see and suddenly it all made sense.

Chapter 31

”Hello Deanna,” Catherine said as she leaned against the door.

“Catherine. What are you doing here? How did you get in?” Deanna questioned her.

“I’m here to claim what is rightfully mine. Sébastien and I belong together. He just doesn’t know it yet. Getting in wasn’t that difficult. Money opens a lot of doors you know,” Catherine answered with an evil smile.

“Lucy tried to hurt me to get Sébastien and look where she is now,” Deanna reminded her.

“Yes that was a bit unfortunate but she knew what she was getting herself into. I tried to warn her but she didn’t listen to me,” Catherine said.

“Warn her?” Deanna asked, hoping to buy some time.

“I told her that if you were a really good bodyguard, you would carry an extra gun but I guess she didn’t want to believe me. Poor girl,” Catherine laughed.

“Wait a second. You were the brain behind Lucy’s attack on me?” Deanna was stunned.

“You’re a smart woman, Deanna Kendall. Of course I was the brain behind it. Did you really think that Lucy had enough brain to come up with a plan like that? Lucy was just a pawn and as you know, pawns are expendable. Since she couldn’t do what I paid her to do, I have to finish the job myself,” Catherine replied.

“So what are you going to do? Shoot me? Shooting an unarmed woman makes you a coward. Is that the way you want to be remembered?” Deanna looked at her.

“No, I won’t shoot you. That would be too easy. No, I had something else in mind,” Catherine smiled at Deanna as she dropped her purse on the floor.

“Like pulling a knife and stab me?” Deanna asked.

“You disappoint me. I don’t believe in using weapons. I’m talking about a good old fist fight,” Catherine told her.

“Sorry but I have to decline. It just wouldn’t be fair to you,” Deanna said.

“Come on, Deanna. We both know that you want to rip my head off and feed it to the lions. Admit it,” Catherine smiled.

“It does sound very tempting but you’re wasting your time. I’m not feeling so good and I really don’t want to fight with you,” Deanna looked at her.

“I don’t believe this. Are you afraid of me?” Catherine asked.

“No, I’m not afraid of you. I just don’t think fighting is the answer. You should do us all a favor and stay out of our lives for good,” Deanna answered.

“As soon as I have Séb in my arms, I will stay out of your lives,” Catherine promised.

“You’re crazy. You can’t make Séb love you,” Deanna told her.

“I don’t have to make him love me. He already loves me,” Catherine smiled.

“You really are delusional,” Deanna shook her head.

“Don’t insult me like that. You don’t want to face the fact that your boyfriend is in love with me. Open your eyes my dear Deanna. Séb belongs to me and I will get him. If I have to kill you to get him, so be it,” Catherine said as she walked towards Deanna.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. If you touch me, you’ll regret it,” Deanna looked at her.

“Well, you’re not me,” Catherine remarked as she attacked Deanna.

Unaware of what was going on in the dressing room, the guys were enjoying themselves on stage. They were singing their hearts out and the fans loved it. Séb was about to say something when a girl said something that made him laugh. He couldn’t stop laughing and David had to take over the introduction of the next song. They started singing Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore and people rose from their seats and started clapping. The guys loved the response from the audience and it made the girls proud.

After the song, Urs announced it was time for them to say goodnight but that didn’t go over well with the fans. The guys performed My Way and as they left the stage after the song, people were cheering and clapping. As expected, the audience wanted more and the guys returned to the stage to sing two more songs. They still had no idea what was going on in the dressing room and maybe that was for the best. After two encores, the Divos left the stage and walked to their dressing rooms, followed by the girls.

As they walked to the dressing rooms, they talked about the concert and Deanna. The doctor might have told her that nothing was wrong but they didn’t believe that. Something was wrong with her and they agreed to get her to see another doctor soon. Monique and Megan were still convinced that Deanna was pregnant but she had already done a test and it was negative. If she wasn’t pregnant, then what was wrong with her?

“Didn’t the security guard say that he would stay with Deanna until you returned?” Megan asked as she looked at Séb.

“Yes he did say that,” Séb answered.

“Well, he is not there now,” Megan said as she pointed towards the door.

Followed by his friends, Séb ran over to the dressing room and tried to open the door but it was locked from the inside. He could hear Catherine’s voice through the door but he couldn’t hear Deanna’s voice. Séb called out to Deanna as he knocked on the door but there was no answer and it made him nervous. They had to get the door open now. Séb asked David to find someone who could help them with the door. David disappeared and came back a few minutes later with a young man.

It only took him a few seconds to open the door and nothing could have prepared them for what they saw when they entered the room. In the middle of the room, Deanna had Catherine pinned to the floor and it was easy to see that Catherine wasn’t having a good time. Deanna looked up to see her friends standing in front of her with big smiles on their faces.

“It was about time you got here,” Deanna said as she gripped Catherine’s arm harder.

“Please help me. She is crazy,” Catherine begged as she looked at Séb.

“Shut up you little viper. I warned you but you didn’t listen. You should have done a better background check on me. If you had, then you would have known that I was a New York cop before I became a bodyguard. I’ve dealt with people who were ten times worse than you,” Deanna told her.

“Call the police,” Séb said to Carlos.

“What are you doing here Catherine?” Monique asked.

“She came to finish the job,” Deanna answered the question.

“What job?” Monique looked at Deanna.

Deanna told her friends everything Catherine had said about the plan and Lucy. They were all shocked to hear that Catherine had been behind it all but the thing that really shocked them was that Catherine had used Lucy like that. The police arrived and Deanna told them everything. They handcuffed Catherine and escorted her out of the venue. Once the police and the other Divo couples were gone, Séb turned to Deanna.

“Once a bodyguard, always a bodyguard,” Séb said as he shook his head.

“Or once a cop, always a cop,” Deanna told him.

“That true but I hope this was the last time that you put yourself in danger,” Séb looked at her.

“It was the last time unless someone tries to hurt the people I love. I will do whatever I can to protect my loved ones. Don’t tell me that you wouldn’t do the same,” Deanna said.

“I would do the same but I don’t want you to get hurt,” Séb took her hands in his.

“I know that,” Deanna smiled at him.

“Give me fifteen minutes to change and then we can get out of here. If we’re lucky, we can get something to eat at the hotel. Maybe we can order room service,” Séb winked at her.

“That sounds good to me,” Deanna agreed.

While Séb was changing his clothes, Deanna was sitting on the couch. She still wasn’t feeling well and she was getting a bit worried because it wasn’t normal. What could be wrong with her? The pregnancy test was negative but could the test have been wrong? Or had she done something wrong when she took the test? The questions kept popping into her head and she didn’t even notice that Séb was standing in front of her.

“Hello,” Séb waved his hand in front of her.

“I’m sorry. I guess I was far away,” Deanna apologized.

“What is going on in that pretty head of yours?” Séb asked as he took his hand.

“Something is wrong with me and I have no idea what it is. That scares me,” Deanna answered.

“I know. Let’s go back to the hotel and get something to eat. If you still feel sick in the morning, we will see the doctor before we leave,” Séb touched her face.

Deanna nodded her head in agreement and they left the dressing room hand in hand. As they walked down the hallway, they met Monique and David. Monique noticed that Deanna wasn’t looking so good and she was really worried about her. When they reached the back entrance, the other two couples were waiting for them. Outside of the venue were a lot of fans who wanted autographs and pictures. The guys went outside while the four girls decided to wait inside.

As they were waiting for the guys to finish their interaction with the fans, Deanna felt dizzy again. She knew her friends would make a big deal out of it so she just leaned against the wall, hoping they wouldn’t notice. Deanna could feel that it was getting worse and she managed to whisper Megan’s name before everything turned black. Megan caught Deanna before she hit the floor and Charlene ran outside to get Séb. She whispered to him that Deanna had fainted and Séb dropped everything before he ran inside.

“Wake up Cherie,” Séb said as he touched her face.

“The ambulance will be here soon,” Monique told him.

“Thanks,” Séb whispered.

As Séb and Megan were trying to get in contact with Deanna, the other Divos were still outside with the fans. A lot of questions had been asked when Séb had disappeared but the guys told them that they couldn’t give any answers right now. Within a few minutes, the ambulance arrived and the Divos explained what had happened. Séb asked Carlos to call Simon and explain the situation to him. He wanted the security teams to make sure the fans were gone when they brought Deanna into the ambulance.

Once the security teams had managed to get the fans away from the back entrance, Deanna was brought out of the venue and into the ambulance. Séb climbed into the ambulance and as the ambulance drove off, the others climbed into the waiting cars and gave the drivers instructions to take them to the hospital. Nobody said a word as the cars drove through Berlin. After what seemed like an eternity, they finally reached the hospital. They met Séb in the waiting room and he told them that Deanna was awake but they were doing a few tests.

A nurse arrived and she informed Séb that he could see Deanna. On the way to the room, she told him that the doctor would be there shortly to give him an update and some answers. Séb thanked her before he walked into Deanna’s room. Deanna had her eyes closed when Séb entered the room. She didn’t look as pale as she did at the venue. He walked over to the bed and took her hand before he kissed her softly.

“Hello beautiful,” he said when she opened her eyes.

“Hey,” she smiled at him.

“What is wrong with you?” Séb asked as he held her hand tight.

“I have the answer to that. My name is Bernd Schmidt and I’m the doctor who did all of the tests. Let me start by saying congratulations,” a man suddenly said.

“Congratulations?” Deanna looked at him.

“Yes. You’re pregnant Miss Kendall,” the doctor replied with a smile.

“No. There has to be some kind of mistake. I took a test some days ago and it was negative,” Deanna told him.

“Maybe so but we’ve checked it twice and both times the result was positive,” Bernd looked at her.

“But how could my test be wrong?” Deanna questioned.

“Either it was a bad test or you didn’t do it right. Besides being pregnant, there is nothing wrong with you at all,” Bernd explained to her.

“Thanks doctor,” Deanna smiled at him.

The doctor smiled back before he left the room, leaving the parents to be alone. Deanna looked at Séb and he seemed just as shocked as she was. She couldn’t believe that she had messed up a pregnancy test. How on earth could she have done something like that? After a few minutes of silence, Deanna finally spoke up.

“Say something,” Deanna begged.

“We’re having a baby,” Séb said as he ran his fingers through his hair.

“I know. How do you feel about it?” Deanna asked.

“To be honest, I don’t know. This is not something I had planned,” Séb rose from the chair.

It wasn’t the answer she had hoped for but she knew she wouldn’t get the other answer. At least not right now. Séb was just staring out of the window and Deanna had to make a decision. She put on her coat and grabbed her purse before she walked towards the door. As she reached the door, she turned around and looked at Séb.

“Are you coming?” Deanna asked him.

“What do we tell the others?” Séb wanted to know.

“We will just tell them it’s a bug. As long as we don’t know what we’re going to do about the baby, I don’t want to tell them anything,” Deanna answered as she opened the door.

“That sounds like a good idea,” Séb agreed.

Without saying another word they left the room and joined their friends in the waiting room. They were all dying to hear the results and Deanna explained it was just a bug. Séb and Deanna had to pretend like everything was fine and it seemed like their friends believed them. As soon as they were back at the hotel, the couples went to their suites. Séb ordered a couple of sandwiches and they ate without saying a word to each other. After they had finished their sandwiches, they got ready for bed. Deanna climbed into bed and turned onto her side. Séb did the same and they drifted off to sleep, back to back.

Chapter 32

When Séb woke up the next morning, he turned to look at Deanna but she wasn’t there. He rose from the bed and walked to the bathroom to take care of his needs. After he had finished in the bathroom, he made his way to the living room where he found Deanna sleeping on the couch. Her laptop was on the table and he noticed the box of tissues next to the laptop.

Séb knew that he had messed up last night when they found out about the baby but it had come as a surprise to him. He wanted children and after Monique and David had announced that they were expecting, he couldn’t wait to have children of his own. Now it was happening but he wasn’t happy about it. What was wrong with him? The woman he loved was pregnant and she was giving him the greatest gift of all but he wasn’t happy.

He knew they had agreed not to tell anyone about the baby until they knew what to do but he needed to talk to someone. The only who he could turn to was Carlos but Megan would be in the suite too and she would rip his head off if she found out that her sister was pregnant and he didn’t want the baby. Séb looked at his girlfriend before he walked into the bathroom to take a shower. He took a quick shower and after getting dressed, he left the suite.

Deanna woke up shortly after Séb left the suite. She rose from the couch and stretched her body. The tissues on the table reminded her of the night she had spent on the couch. Sleeping on the couch hadn't been her intention but after she had spent most of the night looking for information on pregnancies and pictures, she had cried herself to sleep. Seeing the pictures had made her decide that she wanted to keep the baby and if she had to raise it without Séb, then she would do that.

Séb was standing in front of the door to Carlos’ suite. He wasn’t sure of what to say or where to start. Right now he wasn’t sure about anything. Séb knocked on the door and he heard Megan’s voice announcing that she was on the way. She was surprised to see Séb standing there without Deanna and she knew that Séb was there to talk to Carlos alone.

“Come on in,” Megan stepped aside.

“Thanks Megan. I’m sorry for disturbing but I need to speak to Carlos alone,” Séb said.

“He is in the living room. I think I will go to my sister. Something tells me that she needs me,” Megan looked at Séb.

Megan informed Carlos that she would be in Séb’s suite before she left. She couldn’t explain it but when Séb had told her that he needed to speak to Carlos alone, she knew that there was a problem between Deanna and Séb. Megan walked to Séb’s suite and knocked on the door but there was no response. She took out her phone and dialed Deanna’s number, hoping for some kind of response but there was no answer.

As she was about to walk back to her own suite, her phone started ringing. The caller ID told her that it was her sister and she let out a sigh of relief when she heard Deanna’s voice. Megan told her that Séb was in her suite talking to Carlos and she wanted to check on Deanna because she had a feeling that something wasn’t right. Deanna knew there was no point in telling Megan that she was fine because Megan would look straight through her. Megan stepped into the suite when Deanna opened the door and the two sisters went into the living room to have a chat.

“You don’t look so good this morning,” Carlos said as he poured coffee for Séb.

“I’m not feeling good. My relationship with Deanna is hanging by a thread,” Séb ran his fingers through his hair.

“What? When did this happen? Last night the two of you walked out of the hospital hand in hand,” Carlos was stunned.

“That was acting. We agreed not to say anything but I need to tell someone about it because I don’t know what to do,” Séb sipped his coffee.

“I’m listening,” Carlos looked at his friend.

“Deanna is two months pregnant,” Séb told him.

“She is pregnant?” Carlos repeated.

“Yes she is,” Séb replied.

“That is great news but what has that got to do with your relationship hanging by a thread? I don’t really see the connection,” Carlos said.

“After the doctor left the room last night, Deanna asked me how I felt about having a baby. I told her that I didn’t know. The baby wasn’t planned and the timing isn’t right,” Séb explained.

“David and Monique didn’t plan their baby and their situation is the same as yours. The only difference is that they have found a way to make it work,” Carlos reminded him.

“I know that. When David and Monique told us about the baby, I started thinking about my own life and what I wanted. The first thing that came into my mind was becoming a dad. I couldn’t wait to have a baby of my own,” Séb rose from the chair.

“You say you didn’t plan this but look at you. There was something in your eyes when you told me that the first thing that came into your mind was becoming a dad. It was like a glow. A baby is a joyous event and I can’t wait until I have a little one of my own. You have a woman who loves you more than life and she is giving you the best gift of all. Just think of all the men who will never experience what it’s like to hold their own baby in their arms,” Carlos said.

“I’m just not sure if I am ready to become a dad,” Séb admitted.

“I doubt you’re the only dad to be who wonders if he is ready to become a dad. It will change your life but it will be a good change. I want you to do something for me,” Carlos told him.

“I’m listening,” Séb looked at him.

“I want you to look me in the eyes and tell me that you don’t want the baby. If you can do that, then I will believe you,” Carlos said as he sat down across from Séb.

“Now you’re being unfair,” Séb said.

“No I’m not. You can’t do it, can you? You can’t even say the words and why is that?” Carlos looked at Séb.

“I can’t say the words because I want the baby. That baby is mine. It is the proof of the love that Deanna and I have. I’ve been an idiot,” Séb admitted.

“I’m glad you finally admitted that to yourself. Now go back to your girlfriend and do the right thing. Tell her that you’re happy about the baby,” Carlos suggested.

“I will do that. Thanks for the talk,” Séb hugged him.

“You’re welcome,” Carlos smiled.

“I do have one more question. What would you do if you were in my shoes?” Séb asked Carlos.

“This is what I would do,” Carlos said with a smile.

“What are you going to do?” Megan asked her sister.

“I spent most of the night crying and looking for information about pregnancies. I even found pictures of what he or she will look like from now on until the birth. I know the baby is not that big but it’s my baby and it is growing inside of me. The baby wasn’t planned but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t deserve to be loved. I will keep the baby and I will raise it on my own if I have to,” Deanna answered as she showed Megan the pictures.

“You don’t have to raise it alone,” Séb suddenly said.

Deanna closed the computer before she turned to see Séb and Carlos standing there. Megan instantly wanted to smack Séb but he was the father of her niece or nephew and Deanna still loved him. Without saying a word, Carlos told his girlfriend it was time to them to leave. Reluctantly Megan rose from the couch and walked over to Carlos. They said goodbye and left the suite.

“I love Séb like a brother but I want to smack him right now,” Megan said Carlos as they walked to their own suite.

“I know you do but he is about to do the right thing. Everything will be fine,” Carlos kissed Megan.

“How can you be so sure?” Megan asked him.

“I will tell you everything,” Carlos promised as he closed the door to their suite.

Deanna looked at Séb as he walked over to her. She was fighting with the tears again and she hated it but she had to accept that she wasn’t as tough as she wanted people to think. As Megan had told her some time ago, it only proved that she was human and she was right. Séb took a seat next to Deanna on the couch and he took her hand in his.

“I’m sorry for reacting like that last night. When the doctor told us about the baby, I got scared. After talking to Carlos, I found out it wasn’t because I didn’t want the baby. I got scared because I think the baby deserves a lot better than having me as the dad,” Séb expressed his feelings.

“What do you mean?” Deanna asked.

“I don’t know anything about being a dad. As the doctor told us about the baby, a lot of questions went through my head. Do I have what it takes to be a good dad? What do I have to offer this child? Questions like that,” Séb replied.

“Nobody is asking you to be perfect and know everything. I don’t know anything about being a mom but I will do my best to a good mom. You’re a sweet and caring man with a lot of love to give. That is what you can offer the child and the rest we will figure out along the way. I really want this baby,” Deanna looked at him.

“I want this baby too. It wasn’t planned but we created this baby together and we will raise it together. The baby is proof of our love,” Séb said as he kissed her hand.

“Are you sure?” Deanna asked him.

“Yes I’m sure and I would love to see the pictures you found,” Séb answered.

“If you order some breakfast, I will start the laptop,” Deanna smiled.

“It’s a deal,” Séb said and called room service.

Deanna and Séb were looking at pictures when room service arrived with their breakfast. Séb was really paying a lot of attention to what was on the screen and the more he saw, the more he knew that he was ready to be a dad. He understood what Carlos had said about a baby being the greatest gift of all. It was hard to believe that a life was growing inside of Deanna.

“Is our baby that size now?” Séb pointed at the screen.

“Yes. It doesn’t look like much right now,” Deanna replied with a smile.

“It’s amazing. We should think of names,” Séb suggested.

“I think it’s a bit too early for that. Something can still go wrong,” Deanna reminded him.

“Nothing will go wrong. In fact, we don’t have to think much about names. After our parents died, Monique told me that if she ever had children, she would name them after our parents. We could use your parents’ names,” Séb looked at her.

“I like the idea but how do you feel about Emily and Daniel?” Deanna asked, biting her lip.

“Emily Izambard and Daniel Izambard. Sounds good to me,” Séb responded with a smile.

“It does sound good. Oh, if it’s a boy, we need one of his uncles to toilet train him,” Deanna told him.

“Why can’t I do that?” Séb looked at her.

“Because you still leave the seat up,” Deanna laughed.

“You’re right. I do that. I love you Deanna Kendall and I can’t wait to meet our little one,” Séb said as he touched her belly.

“I love you too,” Deanna looked at him.

Séb pulled her into his arms and kissed her deeply. When he broke the kiss, he told her to take a shower. He needed to plan his surprise and he couldn’t do that with her in the room. As soon as Deanna had closed the bathroom door, Séb picked up the phone and made some calls. They didn’t have to leave Berlin until the next day, so he had time to make it the perfect evening and hopefully Deanna would think so too.

Carlos had told Megan about his conversation with Séb and even though Megan still didn’t like the way Séb had reacted, she knew that he was doing the right thing. She agreed to help him with setting up the proposal but she didn’t know that Carlos had a plan of his own. It would be an evening she wouldn’t forget.

Chapter 33

”What do you think Séb wants to tell us?” David asked Monique as they were getting ready to leave.

“I have no idea. Well, actually I do have an idea and I hope I’m right. It would be great if our baby would have a cousin around the same age,” Monique answered with a smile.

“Deanna said it was just a bug,” David reminded his wife.

“I know she did but I don’t believe her. I can’t explain why but I think she is pregnant,” Monique told him.

“Well, we will find out soon. Are you ready?” David looked at Monique.

“Yes. Let’s go,” Monique replied as she picked up her purse.

They left their suite and walked downstairs to the lobby. Charlene and Urs were already there but it didn’t come as a surprise. Carlos and Megan joined them a few minutes later and the couples started talking. Monique told them what she thought was going on with Séb and Deanna and it was really difficult for Megan to keep quiet but it was up to Séb and Deanna to tell the good news.

The 3 Divo couples sat down and waited to Deanna and Séb to join them. A few minutes later the parents to be joined their friends and they left the hotel. They spent some time sightseeing in Berlin before they had lunch at a restaurant.

“You’re probably wondering why we’ve asked you to join us for lunch but Deanna and I have some great news to share with you. We’re having a baby,” Séb told his friends.

“I knew it. I told you she was pregnant,” Monique said as she looked at David.

“Yes you did. You’re so wise,” David kissed her.

“Congratulations first of all. When is the baby due?” Charlene was curious.

“In about 7 months according to the doctor,” Deanna replied.

“Did you say 7 months?” David asked.

“Yes. Why?” Deanna looked at him.

“It will be about the same time as baby Miller will be born. What were the two of you doing in Denver when we were on our honeymoon?” David questioned Deanna and Séb.

“Well, I would say that we were doing the same thing you were doing on your honeymoon,” Séb replied with a smile.

“Touché,” David said and laughed.

The four couples enjoyed their lunch and they were having a good time. Séb and Carlos were getting restless because they both had some things to do but they had to do it without the girls. They talked about their plans for the rest of the day and it looked like Séb and Carlos had nothing to worry about. Megan and Deanna wanted to do some shopping and the other girls decided to join them. The guys didn’t have a problem with that because it would be nice for them to spend some time together off stage.

After finishing their lunch, the girls kissed their men goodbye and left the restaurant. Séb and Carlos asked Urs and David to stay a little longer because they had some things they wanted to talk about. They ordered some coffee and the two Divos told their friends about their plans. David and Urs liked the idea and they promised to help out any way they could. Half an hour later, the Divos left the restaurant and went shopping.

“Have you talked about getting married?” Charlene asked as they walked around in Berlin.

“No, we haven’t,” Deanna answered.

“Do you want to get married?” Charlene continued her questions.

“Yes but it doesn’t have to be now. Things are happening too fast as it is. Not that I’m complaining or anything,” Deanna replied.

“Would you say yes if he did ask?” Monique wanted to know.

“Of course I would say yes. I love Séb more than life,” Deanna told her.

“I’m glad you feel like that. If he did ask, what would you do about the wedding?” Monique asked.

“Megan and I have always talked about a double wedding and I don’t want to change that. I would prefer to get married before the baby starts showing but for that to happen, Carlos would have to ask Megan to marry him,” Deanna explained as she looked at Megan.

“Carlos won’t ask me to marry him. It’s too soon. We haven’t been together that long. You don’t have to wait for me. If Séb asks, then you should get married when you want to get married,” Megan said.

“You and Carlos have been together longer than Séb and I have. The two of you were dating Carlos when Séb showed up in New York. Anyway, I don’t want to decide that now. Séb hasn’t asked me and I don’t think he will, at least not right now,” Deanna told her sister.

“Well, you have my blessing to change plans if he asks,” Megan smiled.

“Thanks sis,” Deanna hugged her.

While the girls were talking about weddings, the guys were walking around in Berlin. Séb and Carlos each had a mission and they didn’t have much time. They ended up in a jewelry store and it didn’t take long for Carlos to find what he needed but Séb had problems finding what he wanted for Deanna. The other guys tried their best to help him and with their help, he found what he was looking for.

Once the guys had finished their shopping, Carlos called Megan to tell her that they were heading back to the hotel. Megan told him that they were going back too and that she would see him soon. Carlos and Séb were in the lobby when the girls returned. Séb told Charlene and Monique that Urs and David had gone to their suites. Monique and Charlene decided to join their husbands and said goodbye to their friends.

Carlos and Megan had a lot to do before dinner and they said goodbye to Deanna and Séb before they walked to their suite to talk. Séb told Deanna that he had a surprise for her but they would have to leave the hotel right away. Deanna still had no clue that Séb was up to something when they left the hotel. He took her to a dress shop he had seen earlier when he was out with the guys and he told her that she needed a dress for dinner. Deanna told him about the dress she had in her suitcase but Séb insisted that she got another one.

After spending about twenty minutes at the dress store and purchasing a dress for Deanna, they returned to the hotel. They walked to their suite and Deanna yawned as she took a seat on the couch. Séb looked at her with a smile and he ordered her to take a nap before dinner. She tried hard to convince him that she wasn’t tired but it was difficult because of the yawning. Reluctantly she rose from the couch and walked into the bedroom, closing the door behind her.

Megan and Carlos were up to their elbows in helping Séb prepare the perfect proposal and Megan was happy to help make her sister's moment special. Megan knew what Deanna liked and wanted because they shared the same taste.

"What dress do you plan on wearing?" Carlos asked

"Why? We won't be there. A proposal is to be intimate and private," Megan told him.

"I don't think so. I have always thought if you meet the right one that a proposal in front of family and friends would be so perfect," Carlos made his thoughts known.

"And if the girl says no then what? She rejected the guy and did it in front of everyone," she asked.

"Good point. Maybe a nice party with friends but a private moment for the proposal is best?" Carlos suggested.

"Yes. The garden here at the hotel would be perfect," she smiled.

"I will see what I can do but you still need a dress; maybe that sexy red one," he suggested

"The backless one? I don't think so," Megan shook her head.

"Why?" he asked.

"Red is my best color and I don't want to upstage my sister on what will be the best night of her life," she told him.

"But you need to look your best too. I will talk to the hotel manager and you will make up your mind about the dress," he pulled her close.

"I will go get the dress and accessories ready." she walked into the bedroom.

Once she was gone, Carlos left the suite and went downstairs to the lobby. He spoke to the hotel manager and using the garden wouldn’t be a problem. As Carlos was about to return to his suite, a young man arrived with a delivery for Carlos. It was the roses he had ordered and that was the last piece of the puzzle. He thanked the young man and asked the manager to have everything ready at 6.30 pm. The manager promised to have it all ready for him.

Carlos thanked him and walked back to his suite. He stopped in front of the door and took out his phone. With a smile on his face, he sent Séb a text message with the words:

‘First part of operation proposal went smoothly. Megan will be so surprised’

A few seconds later, Séb sent back a reply:

‘So will her sister’

“Did you sleep well?” Séb asked Deanna when she came out of the bedroom.

“Better than I did last night. I don’t feel like going out. Would you mind if we just stayed here?” Deanna asked.

“Not at all. In fact, I think we could use some private time to celebrate our baby. Instead of taking a shower you should take a long, hot bath. I will order some food for us while you’re soaking in the tub. How does that sound to you?” Séb walked over to her and pulled her close.

“It sounds great,” Deanna looked at him.

Séb brushed his lips against hers before he whispered to her to leave. Deanna disappeared into the bedroom and as soon as Séb heard the water being turned on, he called roomservice to make sure that everything was ready. They told him that they would be there within 5 minutes and Séb thanked them before hanging up. Séb turned on his laptop and found the playlist he wanted. A knock on the door told him that the food and the other accessories he had ordered had arrived. With a smile on his face, he walked over to the door and opened it to see a young man with a cart. Before the young man left, he told Séb to just leave the cart in the hallway when they were done. Séb thanked him and closed the door behind him.

Five minutes later the table was set and the candles were lit. Once everything was ready, he walked into the bedroom to change into something a bit more formal. He chose a pair of black pants, a black shirt and to make the outfit complete, he put on a white jacket. Séb could hear Deanna singing in the bathroom and he was really surprised to hear her sing. She had a really good voice and maybe they should perform together. He knocked on the door before he opened it.

“Dinner is ready, Cherie,” he said.

“Ok. I will be with you in five minutes,” Deanna told him.

Séb closed the door and walked into the living room. He turned on the music and took one final look around to make sure that he had covered everything. As he waited for Deanna to join him, he checked his pocket to make sure that he had what he needed. When he heard the bedroom door open, he turned and looked at the beautiful woman standing in front of him. The dress looked stunning on Deanna and he smiled as he walked over to her.

“You look absolutely stunning,” Séb said.

“Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself,” Deanna smiled at him.

Séb took her hand and led her over to the table. He pulled out a chair to her and waited for her to sit down. After making sure Deanna was seated, Séb served the food before he took a seat across from her. They enjoyed the dinner and talked about the future. Séb tried to find out how Deanna felt about marriage and he was relieved to hear that she had been doing some thinking on that subject. After the main course, Séb quickly removed their plates before he served dessert. Deanna was about to eat when Séb stopped her.

“What?” Deanna asked him.

“I have something for you,” Séb replied, placing a small box on the table.

“I love surprises,” Deanna said as she opened the box to reveal a necklace.

“Do you like it?” Séb asked her.

“No, I love it. It’s beautiful,” Deanna responded with a smile.

“I’m glad you think so. I wanted you to have something special. It’s my way of saying thank you for the precious gift you’re giving me,” Séb told her.

“You didn’t have to give me anything,” Deanna said.

“Oh. I guess that means you don’t want the other gift,” Séb looked at her.

“The other gift?” Deanna asked.

“Yes but I will just return it. Don’t worry about it. Let’s finish the dessert,” Séb said and started eating.

“I want my gift,” Deanna begged.

“Eat your dessert and then we will see,” Séb told her.

Deanna stuck her tongue out and started eating. Séb looked at her with a smile and he was looking forward to seeing her face when he presented the second gift. After they had finished their dessert, Séb cleared the table and placed the cart in the hallway as promised. Once he was back inside the suite, he opened the balcony door and held out his hand to Deanna. She placed her hand in his and he led her to the balcony. A clear sky filled with stars and a light breeze caressing the trees made it the perfect evening for a proposal.

Séb let go of her hand and picked up a card and 12 red roses. The card had a long stemmed red rose on the cover and inside it read ‘I have a dozen reasons why’. He began to hand her roses one-by-one – each rose with a reason as to why he wanted to marry her. After the last rose, Séb got down on his knee and took out the small ring box.

“Will you marry me?” he asked as he opened the box to reveal the ring.

“Yes I will marry you,” Deanna answered with tears in her eyes.

Séb placed the ring on her finger and kissed her hand before he stood to look into her eyes. He pulled her into his arms and gently placed his lips on hers. The proposal went as planned and after kissing his fiancé a few more times, he led her back to the suite and closed the balcony door. He reached for the necklace and asked Deanna to turn around. Séb placed the necklace around her neck and then he let his hands wander down her back until he reached the zipper of her dress. He slowly unzipped the dress before he picked her up and carried her into the bedroom where he continued what he had started in the living room.

Chapter 34

"Wow, you look radiant," Carlos saw Megan come out of the bedroom.

"Thanks but are you sure this isn't too much? This is Deanna's big night. I don't want to upstage her," she told him.

"That won't be a problem," Carlos smiled.

"Are you kidding? This is her proposal night. I am going to go change," she headed for the bedroom.

"No, no, no. Come on. I have dinner all ready for us,” Carlos grabbed her waist and turned her to face the front door.

"Seafood?" she asked.

"You will see. I have it all planned,” Carlos replied with a smile.

Carlos reached for Megan’s hand and led her out into the hallway. As they waited for the elevator Carlos was smiling to himself. He couldn't wait to see the look on Megan's face when she walked into the hotel garden. She would be in for a big surprise. The elevator arrived and they went down to the lobby where they were supposed to meet the other Divo couples.

"Where are the others?" she asked at they stepped out of the elevator.

"They're not coming. This is for us," he told her.

"What is for us?" she asked.

"All the stuff we planned. This romantic evening, the roses and the private dinner is all for us," he led her into the garden.

"These roses are red, not purple as we ordered," she looked around and noticed that the garden was filled with different varieties of red roses.

"I know. I let you think we were ordering purple roses," Carlos smiled.

"But I placed the order," she looked at him.

"I know. I called and changed the order. Now let’s eat," Carlos suggested.

They walked over to the table and sat down. The food had been pre-ordered and the waiters served it right after they had taken their seats. Megan looked at Carlos and she couldn’t believe that he had set her up. Was he up to something or was it just a romantic evening before they had to go on the road again? They didn’t have a lot of time for romantic dinners on the road, so maybe it was just that. She loved what Carlos had done for her but she also felt a bit sad because she had been so happy when Carlos told her that Séb was going to propose to her sister and now it turned out that it was just part of the set up.

“What’s wrong querida?” Carlos asked as he sipped his coke.

“I’m sorry Carlos. It just makes me feel a bit sad that Séb’s proposal was part of this set up,” Megan confessed.

“You shouldn’t feel sad about that. Séb’s proposal is real enough. It just won’t take place here. As you told me, a proposal should be done in private and that’s why Séb decided to have a romantic dinner with your sister in their suite. My guess is that he is about to ask her to marry him,” Carlos smiled at her.

“What? So he is really going to propose to her?” Megan asked.

“Of course he is. He loves Deanna and they are having a baby. Now you can relax and enjoy your food,” Carlos answered.

“Yes I can,” Megan smiled at him.

The two of them enjoyed their dinner, talking about the tour and their future. After they had finished the main course, the waiters brought them their dessert and soon it was time for Carlos to do what was the main reason for this dinner. They finished their dessert and Carlos cleared his throat as he pulled a ringbox from his pocket.

"I do have a question to ask you," Carlos looked at Megan.

He slowly opened the box but Megan didn't take her eyes from Carlos. She just stared at him like she was in shock.

"Will you marry me?" he asked.

Megan just sat there; totally stunned. She didn’t say a word and Carlos wondered what was going on with her. Here he was, asking her to marry him and she was just sitting there.

"Hello? Megan? Querida?" Carlos waved his hand in front of her.

"Yes. Yes, I will,” she smiled.

Carlos reached for her hand and he slowly placed the ring on her finger. He held her hand as he rose from the chair, pulling her with him. He pulled her into his arms and looked deeply into her eyes. Carlos kissed her softly as he ran his hand down her back. His touch made Megan wish they were somewhere else.

“Let’s go back to our suite,” Megan whispered to him.

“As you wish,” Carlos smiled as he offered her his arm.

Deanna woke up with a feeling that someone was looking at her and she opened her eyes and looked straight into Séb’s eyes. He smiled at her as he gently touched her cheek.

“What time is it?” Deanna asked.

“It’s almost 2 am. Still 6 hours until breakfast,” Séb answered with a smile.

“Well, if you’re not tired then we could talk about the wedding,” Deanna suggested.

“That sounds like a good idea but I have something else in mind,” Séb whispered as he moved his head closer to hers.

As his lips made contact with hers, Deanna completely forgot about the wedding. Deanna returned the kiss and once again Séb showed her how much he loved her. After another passionate love making, Deanna cuddled up to Séb and he kissed her forehead as he let his fingers entwine with hers. Séb brought her hand to his lips and he softly kissed it.

“Now we can talk about our wedding. Do you have any wishes?” Séb asked her.

“Well, Megan and I always talked about having a double wedding and we kind of knew what we wanted but that won’t happen now,” Deanna sighed.

“It could still happen if that is what you want,” Séb smiled at her.

“No, it can’t. For me and Megan to have our double wedding, she would have to get married too and she is not,” Deanna reminded him.

“We will see about that. When do you want to get married?” Séb wanted to know.

“Well, I see two possibilities. We get married before I start showing or we wait until after the tour. It would give us more time to plan the wedding,” Deanna replied.

“Let’s talk to Gordon about the tour plan tomorrow. If we have a weekend off within the next two months, then we will get married there”, Séb suggested.

“That sounds good to me,” Deanna said.

“Then that’s what we will do. Now I think we should get some sleep,” Séb pulled her closer.

“Yes. We will have a busy day tomorrow,” Deanna yawned.

“Goodnight Cherie,” Séb whispered.

Deanna was already up when Séb woke up the next morning. She was standing by the window, looking at the sun rise. Séb rose from the bed and put on a robe before joining his wife to be by the window. He wrapped his arms around her as he softly kissed her neck.

“Good morning you two,” he whispered in her ear as one of his hands rubbed her belly.

“Good morning daddy,” Deanna said in a tiny voice.

“You’re crazy,” Séb laughed.

“I know,” Deanna smiled.

“Did you pack?” Séb asked when he noticed the bags.

“Yes I did. All you have to do is take a shower and get dressed,” Deanna answered.

“I will see you soon,” Séb kissed her cheek and disappeared into the bathroom.

Only a few people were in the breakfast restaurant when Deanna and Séb walked in. The other couples had not yet arrived and Deanna was a bit disappointed because she was dying to share the good news with all of them. Séb looked at her and he couldn’t wait to see her reaction when Megan and Carlos shared their news. Deanna and Megan could get the double wedding they had always wanted. Together with Carlos, he would make sure it was the perfect wedding because the girls deserved it.

Séb and Deanna grabbed some breakfast before walking over to one of the tables. As they were waiting for the others to join them, they talked more about the wedding and of course the bundle of joy Deanna was carrying. He couldn’t believe that only a few days ago he didn’t want the baby because now he couldn’t wait to meet the little miracle they had created together.

As they were talking, Gordon and Caitlin walked into the restaurant and joined them at the table. Séb wanted to know when they were on a short break again and Gordon told him they would finish the European tour in Spain three weeks later. A smile appeared on Séb’s face because Madrid would be the perfect place for the wedding. The girls would have three weeks to plan a wedding and he knew it wasn’t a lot of time but with the help of their friends, they would be able to do it. Maybe Carlos knew some great wedding venues in Madrid as he did have a lot of contacts in Madrid.

“Why do you want to know?” Caitlin asked Séb.

“I was just asking. Deanna and I just want to spend a few days alone outside of Il Divo world. We don’t have a lot of private time being on the road,” Séb answered.

“You’ve got a point there. After the Madrid concert you will have two days off before we start the US tour. Sorry I can’t offer you more time off,” Gordon said.

“That’s ok. Two days should be enough,” Séb looked at Deanna who nodded in agreement.

“What is it that you’re not telling us?” Gordon looked at them.

“We will tell you when the others get here,” Deanna replied with a smile.

Gordon and Caitlin looked at Deanna and Séb, then at each other. Caitlin noticed that Deanna was keeping her hand under the table and she knew what Deanna was hiding but she didn’t say anything. Caitlin and Gordon left the table to get some breakfast before more people walked into the restaurant. When they returned to the table, the other Divo couples arrived. After getting some breakfast, they sat down and it was time for Deanna and Séb to share their news.

“Deanna and I have something to tell you,” Séb looked at his friends.

“You’re expecting twins,” David said.

“Not that we know of. No, we want to tell you that we’re getting married. I proposed to Deanna last night and she said yes but before you start congratulating us, I think Megan and Carlos have something to share with us,” Séb explained.

“Séb is right. Megan and I are engaged too,” Carlos continued.

“Congratulations. It sounds like we might have a double wedding coming up,” Monique hugged them all.

“That is the idea but we can talk more about that on the plane. Let’s just enjoy our breakfast before we have to leave for the airport,” Séb said.

Charlene and Monique wanted to see the rings and both Deanna and Megan were happy to show their rings to their friends. The Divos had great taste and they had done well in selecting the rings. Deanna showed them her necklace too and they all loved it. Once they had finished their breakfast, the cars pulled up in front of the hotel and soon after they were on their way to the airport.

After they had finished check in at the airport, they were all shown to a private room. They still had half an hour before they had to board the plane and it would give them enough time to talk a little about the upcoming double wedding.

“When and where do you want the wedding to take place?” David asked.

“Deanna wants to get married before she starts showing and Gordon told us that we have some days off after the concert in Madrid. I was thinking that Madrid would be perfect for the wedding if we can find a venue,” Séb answered, looking at Carlos.

“That shouldn’t be a problem. One of my friends is manager of La Quinta Navalafuente and I think it would be the perfect setting for the wedding. I can make the phone call right now if you want me to,” Carlos looked at his friends.

“You have my permission to call your friend,” Megan kissed him.

Carlos excused himself and left the room to make a phone call. Deanna and Megan were hoping for some good news when he returned because both of them loved the idea of getting married in Madrid. Five minutes later he returned to the room and they were all dying to know what his friend had said.

“Looks like you girls will be busy for the next three weeks because you’ve got a wedding to plan,” Carlos smiled at them.

“That is so great. We both love weddings and we know exactly what we want. The color theme will be red and white. Do you think your friend would mind getting the flowers if we tell him what we need?” Megan asked.

“No, I don’t think he would mind because his girlfriend is a wedding planner. We can send them what you want and then they can get back to us with some ideas,” Carlos replied.

Megan and Deanna liked that idea and they would take care of it as soon as they arrived at the hotel later that day. They couldn’t wait to get started on planning the double wedding.

Chapter 35

Two weeks had passed since Deanna and Séb found out about the baby and they couldn’t believe the wedding was only a week away. Megan and Deanna had been in daily contact with Carlos’ friends in Madrid, Diego and Josefina Moreno. Deanna had sent a lot of stuff and information in email and Josefina had come up with a lot of ideas. They offered to take care of everything, except for dresses, suits and invitations. It was an offer Deanna and Megan couldn’t say no to. Séb and Carlos offered to take care of the rings if the girls would take care of the invitations. Megan and Deanna had agreed to that.

Only two people wouldn’t be attending the wedding. One of them was an old friend of Deanna’s who had been in a car accident and was unable to travel. The other one was one of Megan’s best friends. She had married a rich man and she no longer had time to be with old friends, especially not people who didn’t have money. The two sisters were looking forward to seeing their old friends again and they knew it would be a day they would never forget.

Deanna was standing by the window, looking at the rain falling. The thunder was coming closer and the sky was getting darker by the minute. She was completely lost in her own thoughts and she jumped when a lightning bolt lit up the sky, followed by a thunder clap. Deanna quickly closed the blinds and turned around to see her fiancé looking at her with a big smile on his face.

“Are you scared of thunder?” Séb asked as he walked over to her.

“Yes I am. It has to do with something that happened when I was a child. We were driving home one evening and a lightning bolt struck a tree and the tree almost fell on the car. When you’re five years old something like that is really scary,” Deanna answered.

“You don’t have to be scared. I’m here with you,” Séb pulled her close.

“I know you are and I feel safe when I’m with you,” Deanna looked up at him.

“You will always be safe with me. I won’t let anything happen to you or our baby,” Séb placed a soft kiss on her lips.

“I know that Séb. Enough talk about thunder. Have you decided on a best man yet?” Deanna asked Séb.

“Yes. Urs will be my best man and David will be Carlos’ best man. I thought of going with David because he is my brother in law but I chose Urs,” Séb answered.

“Good,” Deanna said and let out a sigh.

“Something is wrong. What is it Cherie?” Séb looked at her.

“I’ve been thinking about the wedding. Megan and I don’t have anyone to walk us down the aisle,” Deanna said, letting out another sigh.

“Don’t you have an uncle or something?” Séb wanted to know.

“No. Dad didn’t have any contact with his brother and mom’s brother turned his back on us when our parents died. That’s why we ended up in foster care. Our aunt wanted to take us in but our uncle didn’t want it. I don’t know why he hated us so much but I have an idea. He blamed my dad for mom’s death and he didn’t want us because we were Daniel’s kids,” Deanna sighed.

“Sounds to me like you’re better off without him,” Séb said.

“I know,” Deanna smiled at him.

“Well, you could ask Simon to walk you down the aisle. I’m sure he would say yes if you asked him,” Séb told her.

“We could do that. I will talk to Megan about it,” Deanna smiled at him.

"You do that. It’s time for us to leave Cherie,” Séb said as he looked at his watch.

“Ok,” Deanna smiled, picking up her purse.

They met the other couples downstairs in the lobby and shortly after the cars pulled up in front of the hotel. A lot of fans were waiting outside of the venue when the Divos arrived but the guys were running late and didn’t have a lot of time to spend with the fans. Once they were inside, the girls took their seats while the guys went to their dressing rooms.

“Remember we talked about someone to walk us down the aisle?” Deanna asked Megan.

“Yes I remember that,” Megan replied.

“Well, my husband to be came up with an idea. He suggested that we asked Simon to do it,” Deanna told her.

“I guess that could work. The aisle is wide enough for him to walk both of us down the aisle at the same time,” Megan smiled.

“Great. We can ask him tomorrow,” Deanna smiled back.

The girls continued to talk until the lights were dimmed and the guys made their appearance. Since the concert was in Paris, Séb was the one to welcome everyone to the concert. Deanna loved hearing him speak in French even though she didn’t understand much of it.

“I would like to dedicate this first song to a very special woman in the audience. She is the love of my life and in a week she will become Mrs. Sébastien Izambard. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have been able to sing for you tonight. This is ‘Everytime I look at you’,” Séb said as he winked at Deanna.

After another wonderful concert and spending some time with their fans, the Divo couples returned to the hotel for a late dinner. Megan told Carlos about asking Simon to walk them down the aisle and Carlos thought it was a good idea. They had no doubts that Simon would say yes. The conversation during dinner was mostly about the wedding and the babies. It was just around midnight when the Divo couples said goodnight and went to their suites. They had to leave for their next destination right after breakfast.

The next day the couples met with Simon when they arrived in Rotterdam. He was not prepared for the question that Deanna and Megan had for him and he was really surprised to hear that they wanted him to walk them both down the aisle. Simon told them that he would be honored to do it. With that settled, everything was now ready for the wedding.

Deanna had received an email from Josefina about the ceremony because they had to make some changes. Instead of a church ceremony, it would have to be an outdoor ceremony. After talking it over with Megan, Séb and Carlos, Deanna wrote back to Josefina that an outdoor ceremony was ok. Josefina sent her a picture of what it would look like and they all loved the idea. It would be the perfect wedding for sure.

After some great concerts in Rotterdam, Lisbon and Barcelona, the Divos had arrived in Madrid. It was time for the final concert of the European tour and the guys would be performing for a sold out venue. The couples met for lunch before the guys had to leave for the soundcheck. They were having a good time, talking and laughing and they couldn’t wait to check into La Quinta Navalafuente. Carlos was looking forward to seeing Diego and Josefina again and of course he couldn’t wait to see Megan walk down the aisle.

Once the guys had left for the venue, the girls returned to the hotel to have some girly time before they had to get ready for the concert. They walked into the hotel bar to get some coffee and talk about the wedding. They were all looking forward to the wedding and they couldn’t wait to see the guys in their suits. Deanna and Megan couldn’t wait to see what Josefina’s ideas looked like in real life. After finishing their coffee, they walked to their suites to get ready for the concert.

It was almost 6 pm when the girls met in the lobby. Caitlin was already waiting for them and she greeted them with hugs. They left the hotel and climbed into the car. Ten minutes later they arrived at the venue and Caitlin showed the girls to the dressing rooms.

“By this time tomorrow you will be Mrs. Carlos Marin,” Carlos said to Megan.

“I know and I can’t wait. Everything has happened so fast,” Megan told him.

“Are you having second thoughts about marrying me?” Carlos walked over to her.

“No I’m not. I want nothing more than to be your wife. I love you Carlos Marin and I have loved you for a very long time,” Megan answered with a smile.

“If I didn’t have to be on stage in ten minutes, I would make love to you right now,” Carlos pulled Megan close.

“We don’t have time for that. You have to wait until after the concert,” Megan smiled at him.
“I know. It’s time for you to find your seat,” Carlos kissed her.

Megan left the dressing room and joined the girls. When the guys arrived on stage, the audience went crazy. It was the last concert of the European tour and it was special, especially for Carlos because the concert was in Madrid.

“As you all know, this is the last concert in Europe. It’s special to me because it’s in Madrid and my family is with me tonight, along with my beautiful fiancé. Speaking of that, I think it’s time for me to announce that I’m getting married tomorrow,” Carlos said.

A mix of cheering and sighing filled the venue and Séb wondered how the fans would react when he told them that he was getting married too. When the audience had stopped cheering, Carlos informed them that Séb had something to say to them.

“Thank you Carlos. My good friend Carlos just told you that he was getting married tomorrow but he is not the only one. My beautiful fiancé and I are getting married too,” Séb announced.

Once again a mixture of deep sighs and cheering filled the venue and it took about five minutes before the guys could continue with the concert. Part one of the show ended with ‘Pour que tu m’aimes encore’ and they guys left the stage. Megan and Charlene left their seats to get some drinks and a few fans walked up to Monique and Deanna.

“You’re Séb’s bodyguard, aren’t you?” one of the girls asked Deanna.

“I was his bodyguard. I’m not working as a bodyguard anymore. Why?” Deanna wanted to know what was going on.

“I just wanted to see the woman who killed my sister,” the girl said.

“There must be a mistake. I haven’t killed anyone,” Deanna looked at her.

“Lucy was my sister,” the girl said.

“I didn’t kill your sister. A guy from Simon’s security team fired the shot that killed Lucy,” Deanna tried to defend herself.

“Lucy was a nice person. She didn’t deserve to get killed,” the girl told Deanna.

“Your sister wanted to shoot Sébastien but I took the bullet and someone else killed your sister,” Deanna said.

“My sister tried to hurt Sébastien? I didn’t know that. She loved him,” the girl was shocked.

“I’m sorry but your sister was being used by a woman named Catherine. Lucy was hired to do Catherine’s dirty job but unfortunately it killed her,” Deanna explained to the girl.

The girl didn’t say anything and left. Deanna and Monique stared at each other without saying a word. Deanna didn’t feel safe at all and she was afraid the girl would try something when they left the venue. When Charlene and Megan returned with the drinks, Deanna explained what had happened. Megan was furious and she called out to one of the security guys. She told him what had happened and he promised to inform the other teams to look out for the two girls.

During the second part of the show, Deanna seemed a bit distant. Séb could tell that something wasn’t right but he couldn’t do anything until after the concert. The concert came to an end and the Divos went to their dressing rooms. Meanwhile the girls were waiting for them at the back entrance, away from the crowd of fans. Deanna knew that her friends wouldn’t let anything happen to her.

The guys joined them at the back entrance and they drove off to La Quinta Navalafuente. When they arrived at the venue, they were met by Diego and Josefina. Carlos introduced them to the Divos and their partners before they all enjoyed a late dinner. After dinner, the couples were shown to their rooms.

“What happened at the concert?” Séb asked Deanna as they were in bed.

“I met Lucy’s sister. She blamed me for Lucy’s death,” Deanna answered.

“She tried to kill me and Brian shot her. It wasn’t your fault,” Séb looked at her.

“I know and I told her that but I don’t know if she believed me,” Deanna said.

“Don’t worry about her. I told you that I wouldn’t let anything happen to your or our baby. Now let’s get some sleep. We can’t be tired for our wedding tomorrow. Goodnight Cherie,” Séb kissed her softly.

“Goodnight Séb,” Deanna whispered as she closed her eyes.

Chapter 36

It was early in the morning when David woke up. He looked at Monique who was sound asleep in his arms. As he gently removed her hand from his chest, Monique woke up and stretched her body. She looked at him with a smile and David decided to stay in bed a little longer. They still had some time before they had to meet the other couples for breakfast.

“I can’t believe that my brother is getting married today,” Monique said as she cuddled up to David.

“He is and I’ve never seen him happier. I know he loved Lucy but he wasn’t this happy when he was with her. I am really glad she is not the woman he is marrying,” David told Monique.

“So am I. If I had known that Lucy was such a nutcase, I never would have introduced them,” Monique sighed.

“Well, there is no need for you to feel bad about it. Lucy is gone for good and now he has Deanna. And in about 6 months, they will have a baby,” David kissed her forehead.

“Just like us,” Monique looked at him.

“Yes, just like us. I can just imagine me and Séb walking down the street with two strollers,” David laughed.

“I like that picture. My husband and my brother, side by side with their babies,” Monique smiled at him.

“I can’t wait,” David pulled Monique closer.

“We should get ready,” Monique suggested as she looked at the wall clock.

“You’re right. Would you like to join me in the shower?” David asked.

“I thought you’d never ask,” Monique answered as they rose from the bed.

“Could you please relax? The wedding isn’t until 4 pm” Séb looked at Deanna.

“Relax? We’re running late for breakfast and the guests will be arriving soon,” Deanna told him.

“Deanna, stop it,” Séb ordered as he walked over to her and put his arms around her.

“I’m sorry but I just want everything to be perfect,” Deanna said.

“Everything will be perfect but you need to relax. Stress is not good for the baby,” Séb reminded her.

“You’re right. I promise you that I will relax, at least until it’s time for the ceremony,” Deanna promised.

“Good. I want you to lie down and relax until I’ve had my shower,” Séb led her over to the bed.

Deanna did as he requested but it wasn’t easy. She had a lot of things to take care of before the wedding but she had to think of her baby too. As she was staring at the ceiling, she thought of how her life had changed in a short time. She wondered what her life would have been like if Séb hadn’t followed her to New York that day. It had changed her life in a way that she had never thought possible and she would be forever grateful to him for that.

She looked at the ring on her finger and she couldn’t believe that in 8 hours she would become Mrs. Sébastien Izambard. Séb came out of the bathroom wearing a towel around his waist and Deanna sat up in bed. She just sat there and watched him getting dressed. Deanna smiled to herself as she kept staring at him. After putting on his jeans, Séb turned around and looked at her.

“I know what you’re thinking of but we don’t have time for that,” Séb smiled at her.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Deanna tilted her head.

“Behave. You have to wait until after the wedding. I promise you it will be a wedding night you won’t forget,” he promised her.

Deanna let out a sigh as she rose from the bed. Séb had finished getting dressed and he took her hand before they left the suite. They said good morning to Josefina and Diego before taking a seat outside. Shortly after the other couples joined Deanna and Séb and Josefina informed them of the schedule for the day.

“After breakfast Diego and I will give you a tour of the place and show you what the decorations look like in real life. The stylists will be will be here at 1 pm to take care of you girls. You guys have to be downstairs at 3.45 pm and then the ceremony will start at 4 pm. After the ceremony, our photographer will escort you to the garden for the wedding pictures and then you will meet here for the reception. Dinner will be served at 6 pm,” Josefina told them.

“That sounds good to me,” Megan said as she looked at Deanna who nodded her head in agreement.

“Good. Now that we’ve gone over the schedule, I suggest we finish our breakfast,” Josefina smiled.

The Bodyguard - Page 2 68b662c9-d02a-4a88-9f58-b19de933a157_zps1f964632

Half an hour later they had finished their breakfast and Diego asked them all to follow him. He showed them the inside of the venue as he told them everything about the venue’s history. The place had a lot of history and they were all paying a lot of attention to what Diego was telling them. After showing them the inside of the venue, he led them outside and showed them the gardens. All of the gardens were well maintained and stone paths were leading the way through the gardens.

They finally made it to the most important areas, the ceremony area and the reception area. Seeing the areas in real life really blew them both away. Josefina had sent them some computer made images but seeing the areas with their own eyes was a different experience. Everything was perfect and Josefina had really outdone herself. Deanna and Megan looked at each other and it was difficult to decide who had the biggest smile.

“I assume you like it?” Josefina looked at the sisters.

“We love it. It’s more than perfect,” Deanna replied.

“I’m glad you love it. I wanted to make it more than perfect because it’s Carlos’ wedding. He is the best friend we could ever wish for and we want him to have the best,” Josefina said as she looked at Carlos.

“I have the best already and in a few hours she will become my wife,” Carlos kissed Megan’s cheek.

They walked back to the main building and they met Simon, Gordon and Caitlin at the main entrance. Before he showed the guests to their rooms, Diego informed them that a light lunch would be served at noon. Shortly after Diego had left with Simon, Caitlin and Gordon, more guests arrived. Johnny, Deanna’s old boss, and her friend Alan walked into the venue, followed by some of Megan’s friends. Hugs and kisses were exchanged and it was good to see them again.

“Aren’t you glad I convinced you to take the job?” Johnny asked Deanna.

“Yes I am. Thank you so much,” Deanna replied as she looked at Séb.

“I’m glad to see you’re still alive because that means I taught her well,” Johnny said as he shook Séb’s hand.

“You did and she is the best,” Séb smiled.

As they were greeting their guests, more people arrived. They hadn’t invited a lot of people to the wedding. The only ones who had been invited were close friends and Carlos’ family. With everyone included, the number of people reached 25 and that was enough. It was almost noon when all of the guests had arrived at the venue and it was time for them to get together for lunch.

Lunch was served inside the venue and everyone seemed to be getting along great. Deanna and Megan were happy about that because they had been worried since most of the guests had known each other since high school. It was almost 1 pm when Josefina arrived and informed the girls that the stylists had arrived. The girls excused themselves and followed Josefina. She led them into an area where a team of stylists were waiting for them.

The guys were downstairs at 3.45 pm as instructed and the two grooms were getting nervous. David and Urs told them it was normal to be nervous and they did what they could to calm Séb and Carlos down. Carlos kept looking at his watch and time seemed to move very slowly.

Finally the wait was over and it was time for the girls to join them. The music started playing and Simon walked down the aisle with the two brides. They both looked beautiful and both Divos had smiles on their faces. Simon kissed the girls on their cheeks before he gave their hands to the guys. The minister began the ceremony and everyone paid close attention to his words.

“It’s not every day a minister gets a chance to wed two couples at the same time. This is actually my first double wedding but there is a first time for everything,” the minister said, making everyone laugh.

"We are gathered together on this beautiful afternoon to share this day with Megan and Carlos & Deanna and Sébastien as they exchange vows of their everlasting love. An essential requirement of a good marriage is a strong bond of real friendship and trust. It's important to remember that your love stands on a foundation of genuine, mutual affection and respect for each other. To truly LOVE another person is to be willing to accept both their strong points, and their weak points, with equal measures of understanding and respect. The vows you are about to exchange, will serve as a verbal representation of the non-verbal emotions that are as real as anything that can be seen, heard or touched. For it is not the words that you will speak today that will bond you together as one --- but the strength of the love and commitment found deep within your souls,” the minister said.

The minister looked at Carlos to let him know that he could say his vow to Megan. Carlos took a deep breath as he took Megan’s hands in his. He looked deeply into her eyes as he spoke to her:

“I prayed for you before I ever met you.
You’re the answer to every prayer I have ever prayed.
You are the only one for me, and from this day forward I will forsake all others and be bound only to you.
I love you, and now I get to spend the rest of my life proving it to you,”
Carlos said to Megan.

Megan had tears in her eyes as Carlos said his vow. As soon as he had finished, Megan took a deep breath and repeated the vow to Carlos:

“I prayed for you before I ever met you.
You’re the answer to every prayer I have ever prayed.
You are the only one for me, and from this day forward I will forsake all others and be bound only to you.
I love you, and now I get to spend the rest of my life proving it to you,”
Megan said.

Carlos smiled at Megan as the minister looked at Séb and Deanna, giving Séb the green light to say his vow to Deanna. Séb held Deanna’s hands tightly in his as he struggled to say his vow to her:

“Deanna, I thank God every day that you were brought into my life. For blessing me with not only my perfect match but my one true love. On this our wedding day I want to make a promise to you. I promise to provide for you, protect you, cherish our friendship and to always be worthy of your trust and love. You renewed my life. Today I proudly join that life with yours. I thank you for loving me and commit myself to you today, tomorrow, forever”, Séb said.

Deanna noticed the part about having renewed his life and in a way she had done that when she had saved him from Lucy. She was nervous as she said her own vow to Séb:

“Sébastien, you have filled my world with meaning. You have made me so happy and more fulfilled as a person. Thank you for taking me as I am; loving me, and welcoming me into your heart. I promise to always love you, respect you as an individual, and to be faithful to you forever. Today I choose you to be my partner, and commit myself to you for the rest of my life”, Deanna promised.

The minister smiled at them before he announced it was time for them to exchange rings. As the couples did so, Monique and Charlene were wiping a few tears away. Urs and David looked at their wives, then at each other and they couldn’t deny that it was a special moment. After exchanging rings, the minister blessed both couples and pronounced them husband and wife.

“You may kiss your brides……your own, not each other’s”, the minister said with a smile.

Carlos and Séb smiled back at him before they softly kissed their wives. The guests congratulated the couples and after thanking the minister, a photographer arrived and asked the newlyweds to follow him into the garden. As they left with the photographer, the guests gathered in the reception area where they could enjoy a glass of champagne or soft drinks.

Chapter 37

After the photographer had finished taking the pictures, he followed the couples back to the reception area. He promised to have the pictures ready for them before they left Madrid. They thanked him and joined their guests. As they were talking to the wedding guests, Josefina announced that dinner was ready. Everyone found their seats and as soon as everyone was seated, Carlos was the one to welcome them all.

“Now that the ceremony is over and we’re legally married, Deanna, Séb, Megan and I would like to thank all of you for being here to celebrate this day with us. It really means a lot to us. Sadly we’re missing some important people on this day but I’m sure they are looking down on us. We hope you all have a good time at our wedding. I should probably stop now before the food gets cold. Once again, thank you everyone for coming,” Carlos said.

Deanna looked at Megan and they were both thinking the same. Some important people were missing at the wedding but as Carlos had said, they were looking down on them on this day. Megan sent her a smile as she took Deanna’s hand and squeezed it.

The food was served and everyone seemed to be enjoying the food. People were talking and laughing and of course some of the guests had prepared speeches. Carlos’ dad, Simon, Johnny, David and Urs had something to say to the couples and of course Carlos and Séb had something to say to their wives. Carlos rose from his chair and cleared his throat.

“On this day not only did I get to watch one of my best friends marry, I got to join in the fun. Today, I married my beautiful Megan. She is not only beautiful on the outside, she is beautiful on the inside too. Thanks to her, the best parts of my life are now better. Here’s to my wife, Megan!” Carlos said.

The guests stood and joined in the toast. After the toast, everyone but Séb sat down. It was time for him to say a few words to Deanna. He knew it wouldn’t be easy for him to say what he wanted to say without getting a bit emotional but he was determined to do it. Séb took a sip of his water before he cleared his throat.

“I will try to make this short. The minute you walked into my room and introduced yourself as my bodyguard, I knew that you were the one I wanted to be with for the rest of my life. In my vows I said that you had renewed my life and I mean that. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be standing here today. You risked your own life to save me and for that I am forever grateful. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I will spend the rest of my life proving it to you. I would like to ask all of you to join me in a toast. To my beautiful wife,” Séb said.

Deanna looked at him as he sat down and he smiled at her before he softly kissed her lips. Dessert was served and after they had finished, Carlos announced that they had to leave the reception area for a while because the tables had to be cleared. Deanna and Séb were talking to Johnny while Carlos and Megan were talking to his parents, Julio and Marita. Megan was like a daughter to them and they had loved her since Carlos had brought her into their home for the first time.

The darkness had started to fall when Josefina informed them they could return to their seats. The music was playing and a light breeze caressed the trees. Deanna and Megan looked at each other as the music played and they were both thinking the same thing. A father/daughter dance would have made the wedding even better but that was impossible.

“What are you thinking of?” Carlos asked Megan.

“I was just thinking of my dad. He should have been here and we should have danced together,” Megan sighed.

“You mean a father/daughter dance?” Julio looked at her.

“Yes. It’s every girl’s dream to dance with her dad at her wedding,” Megan replied.

“I know I’m not your dad but I’d be happy to dance with you,” Julio said.

“That’s nice of you to offer that but it wouldn’t be fair to Deanna. It’s her wedding too,” Megan explained to him.

“If you want to dance, then you should dance,” Deanna smiled at her.

“Are you sure?” Megan questioned her sister.

“Yes I’m sure,” Deanna answered as she nodded her head.

Julio stood and reached out his hand to Megan. She placed her hand in his and he led her to the dance floor. As they danced, Deanna looked at them. Even though she had told Megan that it was ok for her to dance with Julio, seeing Megan with Julio made her feel sad. Séb took her hand and squeezed it as he smiled at her. He knew what she was thinking and he wished there was something he could do. It was their wedding day and he wanted Deanna to be happy. Before Séb could think of something, Simon asked Deanna to dance with him.

Séb watched as his wife walked to the dance floor with Simon and the smile on her face said it all. As the song came to an end, Séb and Carlos walked to the dance floor to dance with their wives. The two couples only had eyes for each other as they danced under the stars. David and Monique joined them on the dance floor and it didn’t take long for Urs and Charlene to join them too. After a few songs, it was time for the newlyweds to cut the cake.

The Bodyguard - Page 2 05ba09d7-6cf1-43f3-896b-722311bdf77a_zps3b7b5980

The two couples cut the cake and after feeding each other a piece, the guests joined them. After the guests had eaten the cake, the party continued and people were enjoying themselves. Séb and Deanna were on the dance floor and Megan was smiling as she looked at them. They were looking at each other the same way as her and Carlos were looking at each other.

“You seem far away,” Carlos suddenly said behind her.

“I was just looking at the two of them,” Megan pointed at Séb and Deanna.

“They look so happy together, just like us,” Carlos agreed.

“Yes, just like us,” Megan smiled at him.

“I don’t know about you but I have a strong urge to get out of here,” Carlos whispered in her ear.

“So do I,” Megan looked at him.

Carlos smiled at her as he wrapped his arm around her waist. They said goodnight and walked inside, leaving Deanna and Séb with the other guests.

“Should we join them?” Séb asked Deanna.

“I think they want to be alone,” Deanna teased him by saying.

“You know what I mean,” Séb laughed.

“Yes I do. Just lead the way Mr. Izambard,” Deanna smiled at him.

“With pleasure Mrs. Izambard,” Séb winked at her.

Séb took her hand and kissed it before they said goodnight to the guests. As they walked into the venue hand in hand, the other two Divo couples looked at each other. It had been another perfect wedding and they couldn’t believe that all of them were now married.

Carlos opened the door to their suite and Megan was about to walk into the suite when Carlos stopped her. He picked her up and carried her over the threshold. Once they were inside the suite, Carlos lowered Megan’s feet to the floor before he reached for the ‘Do not disturb’ sign. He placed the sign on the door handle and closed the door. After locking the door, he turned to Megan and smiled at her. Carlos took her hand and led her into the bedroom where he slowly unzipped her dress as she removed his bowtie.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment since you walked down the aisle with Simon. You looked so beautiful in your wedding dress and you still do,” Carlos said to her.

“Thank you. You looked very handsome in your suit but you shouldn’t be wearing ties or bowties. I prefer you without ties and bowties,” Megan smiled at him.

“I know but the suit wouldn’t have looked right without the bowtie,” Carlos looked at her.

“You’re right about that,” Megan agreed.

Megan’s dress dropped to the floor and so did Carlos’ bowtie and the jacket. They continued to undress each other until all clothes had been removed. Carlos carried Megan to the bed and gently laid her down. He looked at the beautiful creation on the bed in front of him and he could feel his desire building up inside of him. Carlos joined Megan on the bed and he kissed her deeply as he let his hands explore her body. Megan returned the kiss and the passion between them filled the room. The desire was building up as they continued to touch and kiss each other until they gave in to the desire and made love.

Deanna and Séb had reached their suite but it had taken some time for them to get there. It had been difficult for Séb to keep his hands off Deanna and he had stopped to kiss her several times on the way to their suite. He couldn’t help himself as the fire was burning deep inside of him. As they stood in front of the suite, Séb pulled her close and kissed her deeply.

“Not out here in the hallway,” Deanna whispered to him.

“You’re right,” Séb agreed and unlocked the door.

They walked inside the suite and he closed the door and made sure it was locked before he removed his jacket. He pulled Deanna into a kiss and his hands went behind her back and found the zipper on her dress. He slowly unzipped the dress and watched as it dropped to the floor. Deanna removed his bowtie and unbuttoned his shirt before she pulled it off his shoulders.

As soon as the last clothes had been removed, Séb led her over to the bed and continued to kiss her. He knew how to make Deanna want him and she whispered to him to make love to her. Séb didn’t need to hear those words twice. His deepened his kisses and Deanna welcomed the electricity running through her body. Séb had her under his spell and he knew it. They made love slowly until they drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms.

After making love, Carlos turned onto his back as he tried to get his breathing under control. Megan cuddled up to him and rested her head on his chest as her fingers played with his chest hair. She loved playing with Carlos’ chest hair and she could feel what her touch was doing to him.

“What are you doing?” he asked her.

“Well, the night is not over yet,” Megan answered with a smile.

Carlos smiled at her before he started kissing her again, bringing back the passion. They made love again until sleep finally caught up with them.

Séb woke up to find himself alone in the bed. He looked around the room and saw Deanna by the window. She was wrapped in a sheet and the moonlight made her look like an angel. Séb rose from the bed and walked over to her. He wrapped his arms around her and softly kissed her neck.

“What’s wrong?” Séb asked.

“I couldn’t sleep. It has been the best day of my life and it’s all because of you,” Deanna turned head to look at him.

“Today has been a good day but to me the best day was when you walked into my life,” Séb kissed her cheek.

“Do you really mean that?” Deanna turned around, still locked in his embrace.

“Yes I do. Now let’s get some sleep,” Séb suggested.

Deanna nodded her head and they walked back to the bed to get some sleep. Once they were in the bed, Séb pulled her close and whispered goodnight. She made herself comfortable in Séb’s arms before she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Over the next few days, the couples enjoyed their time off in Madrid with relaxing and sightseeing. Johnny had decided to stay in Madrid and travel back to America with the Divos since the first two concerts on the US tour were in New York.

As promised, the photographer had managed to get the pictures done before the newlyweds left for America and he showed up at the venue with the pictures. All of the pictures turned out great and Deanna couldn’t wait to design thank you cards and other stuff.

On their last evening in Madrid, Simon had asked the guys to join him in his suite because he had something important to discuss with them. While the girls were getting ready for dinner, the Divos went to Simon’s suite and they were not prepared for what he had to say.

“Why are we here?” David asked him.

“You’re here because of this. I received this before we went to Madrid but I didn’t want to ruin the wedding and that’s why I’ve waited until now to show it to you,” Simon answered as he placed a diary on the table.

“A diary? Why are you showing us a diary?” David looked at Simon.

“This diary was sent to me personally. It’s Lucy’s diary and it contains a lot of information. Detailed information on how to get rid of Sébastien and Deanna,” Simon explained.

“Who would send you that?” Carlos asked him.

“Lucy’ sister. Look at the last post,” Simon told them.

Carlos took the diary and looked at the last post. He couldn’t believe what he was reading. David noticed the look on his face and he took the diary from Carlos. When he read the post, he understood why Carlos looked like that. David passed the diary to Urs and after reading the post, Urs gave the diary back to Simon.

“Can I see it?” Séb asked his friends.

Simon wasn’t happy about it but he knew that Séb needed to know what was in the diary. He passed the diary to Séb, hoping that Séb would stay calm. Séb read the post and he just kept staring at it without saying a word. Simon took the diary from him and looked at the guys.

“It’s not Lucy’s handwriting,” Séb finally spoke up.

“I know. It’s her sister’s handwriting,” Simon informed him.

“Please tell me this is a bad joke,” Séb looked at Simon.

“I’m afraid it’s not a joke. We will do whatever we can to make sure nothing happens,” Simon promised him.

“You promised that the last time too and look what happened,” Séb raised his voice.

“I understand you’re upset but you need to stay calm or Deanna will know that something is wrong,” Simon said to him.

“She has a right to know about this. Her name is one of the 3 words,” Séb pointed out to him.

“Your wife is pregnant and she doesn’t need the stress. I’ve already informed Johnny and he will supply us with all the help we need,” Simon explained.

Séb knew that Simon was right and he agreed not to say anything to Deanna about the diary or what was in it. As he walked back to his suite after the meeting, the words in the diary entered his mind. Seeing her name with the other two words in that diary scared him and he would do whatever he could to keep her safe.

That evening they were all having dinner at the venue and even though the Divos were talking and laughing like everything was fine, they were all worried about what would happen in New York. They would find out soon enough.

Chapter 38 – part one

After spending a lot of hours on a plane, the Divos had finally arrived at JFK Airport in New York. The hotel had a limo service and Gordon had arranged for two limos to pick them up. Both limos were waiting for them when they walked out of the airport. A few fans spotted the guys and even though the guys wanted to get to the hotel as soon as possible, they chose to spend about five minutes with their fans.

“Is that a wedding ring?” one of the women asked as she noticed the ring on Séb’s finger.

“Yes it is. I got married in Madrid,” Séb replied with a smile.

“Congratulations. Your wife is a very lucky woman,” the woman told him.

“Thanks. I’m a very lucky man too,” Séb said.

“You’re married too?” another woman looked at Carlos’ hand.

“Yes, I’m married to a wonderful woman,” Carlos answered.

“That means all four of you are now married,” she sighed.

“Yes it does. Happily married,” Carlos added.

“As long as you’re happy, we’re happy for you,” the woman told them.

The guys said goodbye to their fans and joined the ladies in the limos. Séb smiled at Deanna when he climbed into the limo and he kissed her cheek as he sat down next to her. Deanna wondered what was going on with him and it kind of scared her to see him like that.

“What is wrong with you?” Deanna looked at him.

“Nothing. I’m just in a good mood,” Séb answered with a smile.

“His ego just got a boost. The fans told him that you are a lucky woman to be married to him,” David laughed.

“Well, they were right about that. I am a lucky woman. What did you tell them?” Deanna questioned him.

“I just told them that I was a lucky man. I’m married to a wonderful woman who is pregnant with my child. How can I not feel lucky?” Séb replied with a smile.

“You didn’t mention that I am pregnant did you?” Deanna questioned.

“No, I only told them I was married. I don’t want the fans to know about the pregnancy yet. It’s not that I think any of them would do anything to hurt you but I just want to keep it a secret until you start to show,” Séb said.

Deanna knew Séb wouldn’t tell the fans something like that and she also knew they wouldn’t be able to hide it forever. She would be travelling with Séb as much as possible and once she started to show, it would be really difficult to hide that she was pregnant. Deanna was aware that not all fans would be thrilled to find out about the pregnancy but she had her friends and family to protect her and the baby. So did Monique and David. Nothing would happen to the Divo babies.

The limos pulled up in front of the hotel and everyone got out. Gordon and Caitlin went into the hotel while the others were saying goodbye to Johnny. He had to get back to his own place as he had to be at work the next day. Before he left, he told Deanna to drop by the office to say hello to her old colleagues and Deanna couldn’t say no to that. After saying goodbye to Johnny, the couples went into the hotel where Gordon was holding their room keys in his hand. He had already checked them into the hotel and the couples went straight to their suites.

They had agreed to meet in the restaurant ten minutes later to get something to eat. The food on the plane had been ok but they wanted some more solid food. Once the couples had freshened up after the trip, they walked downstairs to the restaurant to meet the others. After ordering food and drinks, they talked about the rest of the tour and of course the Divo babies that would be a part of their lives after the tour.

“I want a baby too,” Charlene said, looking at Urs.

“Don’t worry Charlene. You haven’t been on your honeymoon yet,” David told her with a smile.

“What does our honeymoon have to do with a baby?” Charlene looked at him.

“Well, Monique got pregnant on our honeymoon,” David reminded her.

“So did I. It seems like when one Divo is on his honeymoon, his wife and another Divo wife get pregnant. Maybe Megan will get pregnant on your honeymoon,” Deanna said to Charlene.

“I think we might end up with a baby boom then because you and Séb haven’t had your honeymoon yet and we haven’t had ours. That is three honeymoons,” Megan looked at her sister.

“I didn’t think of that. So you will get pregnant when Charlene and Urs have their honeymoon. Charlene will get pregnant on our honeymoon. Since Monique was the first one to get pregnant, she will get pregnant on your honeymoon,” Deanna told Megan.

“Let’s hope not. I want more children but we want to enjoy our little one for a while before we have another one,” Monique looked at David who nodded his head in agreement.

After finishing their food, the couples said goodnight and went to their suites to relax and get some rest. It had been a long flight from Madrid and they needed a good night’s sleep. That night Séb was staring at the ceiling, thinking of the entry in Lucy’s diary. Whenever he tried to close his eyes, the three words in the diary flashed before his eyes. He looked at Deanna who was sleeping peacefully in his arms and he didn’t know what to do if he lost her and his baby. Séb knew that if Lucy’s sister was just as crazy as Lucy, Deanna and the baby were in serious trouble. He couldn’t imagine not having Deanna in his life. If he lost her and the baby, there was nothing left. Half an hour later Séb finally drifted off to sleep.

After a solid breakfast, the Divos kissed their wives and headed to the venue for the first soundcheck. Deanna was off to meet Johnny and her old colleagues and the other girls decided to do some sightseeing. The sun was shining from a clear blue sky and Deanna decided to walk to Johnny’s office. The office wasn’t that far from the hotel and she needed the exercise. On her way to the office, she ran into some old friends from school and they exchanged phone numbers in case Deanna had time to meet up with them during her stay in New York.

Deanna looked at the building in front of her. Seeing her old work place again brought back a lot of memories, good and bad but mostly good memories. Sometimes she missed her old colleagues but she didn’t miss the job as bodyguard. She walked into the building and made her way to Johnny’s office. On the way she met two of her old colleagues, Callie Richardson and Dennis Michaels. They were curious to know what had happened to her after she quit her job and Deanna told them everything.

Johnny came out of his office and interrupted the conversation. He asked Deanna to join him in his office and she did as he requested. Once they were in his office, Johnny asked her to take a seat and he poured some coffee for them. He opened a drawer in his desk and took out a package. As he handed Deanna the package he told her that it was a wedding present from her friends at the agency. Deanna opened the package and she smiled when she saw what was in it.

“They wanted you to have something to remember them by,” Johnny told her.

“I love it. They look like secret agents,” Deanna said as she looked at the picture.

The men were wearing tuxedos and the women were wearing long dresses with splits. All of the women were standing the same way and the splits in the dresses revealed guns on their inner thighs. They all looked like they could be in a James Bond movie. Deanna loved the picture and she knew exactly where to put it. Johnny and Deanna shared memories of her parents and before they knew it, it was time for them to leave for lunch.

They left the office with Callie and Dennis and Johnny took them to his favorite diner. Deanna enjoyed spending time with them and she had forgotten how much fun they were to be around. After lunch, Callie and Dennis had to go back to the office and they said goodbye to Deanna before they left the diner. Johnny and Deanna went for a walk in New York but even though Deanna loved being back in New York, she never wanted to live there again. Her life was in London and nothing would ever change that.

Deanna and Johnny were busy talking about old times and they didn’t pay any attention to the black SUV that had been following them since they left the office building. Johnny offered to buy a cup of coffee and Deanna couldn’t say no to that. While Johnny went to get the coffee, Deanna was waiting for him and suddenly she saw the black SUV. The car was parked but the engine was still running and a person was still in the driver’s seat. It looked like the driver was wearing sunglasses and it made Deanna a bit suspicious.

Suddenly the car started moving and it came straight at her. Deanna could hear the car speeding up and she tried to move but her body didn’t respond. Johnny had gotten the coffee and as he turned around, he saw the car coming towards Deanna. He dropped the coffee and called out Deanna’s name as he ran towards her as fast as he could. Deanna looked at him and just as the car was about to hit her, Johnny pushed her out of the way.

After the soundcheck, the guys had returned to the hotel and they were enjoying a coke in the hotel bar. They had been at the hotel for about twenty minutes when Megan, Charlene and Monique returned from their little sightseeing tour. Charlene saw the guys sitting in the hotel bar and they decided to join the guys, hoping that they hadn’t eaten yet. The girls walked into the hotel bar and a few minutes later they went to the restaurant and ordered something to eat.

“How did the soundcheck go?” Megan asked as they were waiting for their food.

“The soundcheck went well and they cancelled the second one so it looks like we have all afternoon together,” Carlos wiggled his eyebrows.

“That sounds good to me. I can show you were Deanna and I lived with our parents and I can show you my old apartment,” Megan said.

“I’d like that,” Carlos smiled at her.

Their food was served and as they were eating, they talked about Deanna and why they hadn’t heard anything from her. She had promised to call Séb to tell him when she would be back but she hadn’t called and she didn’t pick up her phone. Séb was getting worried but Megan told him that if Deanna had promised to call, then she would because she wouldn’t break a promise. He knew that she would never break a promise but he just had a strange feeling. Something wasn’t right.

Chapter 39 – part two

“Stay with me Johnny. Don’t you dare do this to me,” Deanna kept saying as she held Johnny’s hand.

“The ambulance is on its way here,” a man told her as he kneeled down next to Johnny.

“Thanks,” Deanna said with tears in her eyes.

Johnny had pushed her out of the way but he had been hit by the car and he was now fighting for his life. The driver had lost control of the car after hitting Johnny and it had hit a parked car. Deanna wanted to find out who the driver was but she couldn’t leave Johnny. The ambulance arrived, followed by the police and Deanna had to explain what had happened. Deanna showed the police the black SUV and she asked them if she could go with Johnny to the hospital. The police officer agreed to let her go with Johnny but he told her to stay at the hospital until they arrived because he had some more questions to ask her. She nodded her head in agreement before she climbed into the ambulance.

When they arrived at the hospital, Johnny was brought into one of the examination rooms and Deanna was told to stay in the waiting room. About ten minutes later, a nurse walked into the waiting room and informed her that Johnny had been taken down to surgery and the doctor would see her right after the surgery. Deanna asked the nurse if it was possible for a doctor to check her out because she was pregnant and Johnny had pushed her out of the way. The nurse told her that she would find someone right away and left the waiting room. After the nurse had left, Deanna replayed the entire scene in her head and suddenly it occurred to her that she was the target. It wasn’t just an accident, it was deliberate but who would want to hurt her?

Her thoughts were interrupted by a young, female doctor who asked Deanna to follow her. Deanna followed the young woman into a room and after checking everything, the doctor informed Deanna that everything was as it should be. The doctor and Deanna left the room and Deanna thanked her before returning to the waiting room. Deanna sat down and she still wondered who was driving the car because it couldn’t be a coincidence but who hated her enough to do something like that. As she sat there, two police officers arrived with some shocking news.

“We found this in the SUV. Do you know anything about this?” one of the police officers asked as he handed her a few pieces of paper.

“To me it looks like copied pages of a diary,” Deanna looked at him.

“Yes. We found several of them in the SUV and we wondered if you could help us figure out what it is all about,” the officer said.

“What happened to the driver?” Deanna asked him.

“She is dead. Her name was Sheila Jackson. Do you know her?” the other officer questioned.

“No the name doesn’t sound familiar,” Deanna answered.

“This is her,” the officer showed her a picture.

“That is Lucy’s sister. Now it all makes sense,” Deanna sat down.

“Tell us what you know,” the officer told her.

Deanna told them everything and the officers listened and wrote down every word she said. After telling them what they wanted to know, she asked if she could see the diary entries again. One of the officers gave her the papers and Deanna read everything. When she saw the last diary entry, she dropped the papers on the floor. The words ‘DEANNA WILL DIE’ really shook her up and one of the officers quickly gave her a glass of water.

“She wanted to kill me,” Deanna looked at them with tears in her eyes.

“It looks like it. Do you want us to call someone?” one of them asked.

“No, I will do that myself. I just can’t do it right now,” Deanna said.

“We understand. We have what we need but if we do have more questions, we will contact you,” the officer said to her.

Deanna just nodded her head and the officers left. She knew that she had to call Séb but she was too upset to do it. After an hour, the doctor had still not arrived and Deanna had finally calmed down enough to call Séb and Megan. She dialed Séb’s number and waited for him to pick up. Deanna knew that she had promised to call him and that he was probably mad at her but hopefully he would understand when she told him the reason.

“Hi, it’s me,” Deanna said when Séb answered his phone.

“Do you have any idea how worried I was?” Séb raised his voice a bit.

“I’m sorry but something came up,” Deanna told him as she was fighting her tears.

“Are you ok?” he asked.

Deanna told him that she was in the hospital with Johnny because he had been hit by a car. When Séb asked about her and the baby, she told him they were both doing fine. He told her that he would be there as soon as possible and she asked him to bring the others and Simon because she wanted to talk to them. Séb agreed and hung up the phone. All she could do now was to wait.

Séb told his friends to come with him but he didn’t tell them why or where they were going. They could see that he was upset about something and Megan had a bad feeling. As they were driving to the hospital, Séb called Simon and told him to meet them at the hospital. Simon wanted to know what had happened but Séb didn’t tell him anything. He hung up the phone and he could see that he had some explaining to do but it would have to wait until they arrived at the hospital. Séb only told them that Johnny was in the hospital and that Deanna was there with him.

While the others were on their way, the doctor had arrived and he told Deanna that Johnny had some internal bleedings and a broken leg when he was brought in but it looked like he would be fine. The doctor told her that he was still sleeping but she would be able to visit him later that night. As the doctor left, the others arrived and they all hugged Deanna and asked if she was ok. She told them that she was fine but she really needed to talk to them.

“The police came to ask me some questions about what happened to Johnny,” Deanna started to say.

“Do they know who did it and why this person wanted to hurt him?” Simon wanted to know.

“The driver has been identified but Johnny wasn’t the target. He pushed me out the way,” Deanna explained to them.

“Are you saying that you were the target?” Simon continued to ask questions.

“Yes that is what I am saying. The driver was Sheila Jackson, Lucy’s sister. She had some interesting papers in her car,” Deanna replied as she threw the papers at Simon.

Simon looked at the papers and he didn’t know what to say. He had not seen this coming and he wasn’t sure of how to deal with it. Deanna being upset was bad but the other girls didn’t know about the threats made against Deanna and when they found out, there would be hell to pay. All he could hope for was that they wouldn’t make a big scene at the hospital.

“Do you know anything about that?” Deanna looked at him.

“You were not supposed to find out,” Simon answered her question.

“So you knew about this?” Deanna raised her voice.

“I received the original diary some time ago from Sheila but I decided not to tell you about it,” Simon explained to her.

“My life was in danger and you couldn’t even tell me? Didn’t you think I had a right to know about my life being in danger?” Deanna raised her voice.

“You’re pregnant and we didn’t want to upset you. Stress is not good for you or the baby,” Simon told her.

“We? Did you guys know about this?” Deanna asked as she looked at the Divos.

“Simon told us about it but we agreed not to tell you,” David said.

“Could someone please tell us what this is all about?” Charlene asked as she looked at them.

“I doubt Simon or the guys will tell you so I will do that. On one of those pages there is a diary entry saying ‘DEANNA WILL DIE’,” Deanna answered as tears formed in her eyes.

“You guys knew about this and didn’t tell her? How could you do that?” Charlene was stunned to hear that.

“We believed it was better not to tell her because of her condition. We wanted her to avoid stress,” Urs told his wife.

“Finding out this way isn’t better for her,” Charlene said.

“Enough. Stop talking about me like I am not in the room,” Deanna raised her voice.

“Calm down, Cherie,” Séb rose from the chair and walked over to her.

“Don’t touch me Sébastien. You’re part of this too. I’m your wife and you went along with the plan not to tell me that my life was in danger. How could you do that?” Deanna said as she took a step back.

“Actually Séb wanted to tell you about the entry but we talked him into hiding it from you. If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at us,” Urs looked at her.

“What?” Deanna looked at Urs.

“It’s true. He thought you had a right to know about it but the rest of us decided it was better not to tell you. Now I wish that we had listened to Séb,” David ran his fingers through his hair.

“I’m sorry,” Deanna looked at Séb.

“Don’t be sorry,” Séb pulled her into his arms and held her tight.

A nurse arrived and told them that Johnny was awake and was able to speak. Deanna and Séb followed the nurse into the room where Johnny was. He looked tired and Deanna told him they wouldn’t stay long. Johnny was happy to hear that both Deanna and the baby were fine but he had a lot of questions as to why this had happened. Deanna told him what she knew and that she was sorry about what had happened to him. He told her not to be sorry because it wasn’t her fault. The nurse returned and told them that Johnny needed his rest. Séb and Deanna said goodbye to Johnny and walked back to the waiting room to the others.

Deanna told them about Johnny’s condition and they were all relieved to hear that he would be fine. Simon told them it was time for them to leave because they had to get ready for the concert. As they were walking out of the hospital, Simon took Deanna’s hand and told her he was sorry for not telling her about the diary. Deanna knew that Simon had done it because he was concerned about her health and she couldn’t really be mad at him for that. She forgave him but she made it clear that if he ever hid something like that from her again, she would not be as forgiving. They climbed into the cars and drove back to the hotel to shower and get dressed before they had to leave for the venue.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Deanna asked Séb as she put on her dress.

“I was just thinking of how lucky I am to have you in my life. I don’t think I could go on if something happened to you or the baby. It became clear to me today,” Séb replied.

“Well, I’m still here and so is the baby,” Deanna touched his cheek.

“Maybe we should ask Johnny to be our baby’s godparent,” Séb suggested.

“I like that idea but Megan might feel left out,” Deanna looked at him.

“She will get her chance. I’m planning on having more children and I think we owe it to Johnny,” Séb smiled at her.

“You’re right. Zip me up and let’s get out of here,” Deanna smiled back.

Séb zipped up her dress and Deanna grabbed her purse before they left the suite.

That evening Il Divo gave one of their best performances ever and the response from the audience was really amazing. The concert was a huge success and the guys couldn’t wait to repeat the success the next day. Over the next months, Il Divo toured in America and Asia. After finishing the tour in Asia, they had a week off. After the break, they performed at a few charity events and TV shows in Great Britain. No matter where they went, they were met by smiling fans and they enjoyed every minute of it.

With the tour and other performances done, the couples finally had time to each other. Carlos and Megan went to Aruba on their honeymoon and they enjoyed the beach, the sun and each other. Charlene and Urs decided to spend a week on a cruise in the Mediterranean. Deanna and Séb couldn’t travel because it was almost time for the baby to see the world. Monique and David had to stay in London too for the same reason.

Two days after Megan, Carlos, Charlene and Urs returned to London, Michel Miller was born. He had dark hair like his mom and blue eyes like his dad. And as David said, he had inherited his tenor voice too. Three days after Michel was born, his cousin Emily Izambard saw the world for the first time. She was a beautiful baby and she looked just like her dad. A week later, the proud parents left the hospital with their babies.

Il Divo was on a break but they would start recording a new album later that year and a world tour had already been planned. They had experienced pain, sadness and joy but it had only made the bond between the Divos and their partners stronger. There was nothing they couldn’t do as long as they were a family and they would always be a family.

--- Three years later ---

The Divos were gathered at the Izambard house to celebrate Emily’s third birthday. It was hard to believe that it had been three years since Emily made her appearance because it seemed like yesterday they held their baby in their arms for the first time.

Johnny had agreed to be godparent to Emily and he was visiting them in London when he had time to do so. He had met a woman and they were planning on getting married. Gordon and Caitlin had surprised everyone when they announced that they had gotten married in Las Vegas.

Emily’s birth was the beginning of a new life for Séb and Deanna and that’s why they had sold the apartment and bought a house with a garden as a symbol of their new life. Emily had her own room with princesses on the walls and lots of teddybears, Séb had a music room where he could write and compose music and Deanna had an office where she could work on layouts and other stuff for Megan’s Studio.

A month before Emily’s third birthday, Carlos and Megan had been blessed with a baby girl Arianna who looked like Megan and Carlos was proud of his little girl. They had bought a house further down the street from where Deanna and Séb were living and Megan’s studio was busier than ever before. Due to the birth of Arianna, she didn’t have much time to be there but she had a lot of employees who did well and she had faith in them.

David and Monique were house hunting. With another baby on the way, they couldn’t stay at the old apartment. They had narrowed it down to two houses but they couldn’t decide on which house to buy. Michel had reached his third year and he was excited about becoming a big brother. Even though he was only three and maybe wouldn’t understand much of it, Monique and David tried to involve him as much as possible.

Charlene and Urs were still living in their old apartment and they had no intention of moving. They were busy turning one of the guest rooms into a nursery for their unborn son. He would be joining them two months later and they couldn’t wait to meet him. With Charlene being 7 months pregnant, the other Divos were helping out as much as possible.

“Now that we’re all here, I want to say a few words. First of all we want to thank all of you for being here today to celebrate Emily’s birthday with us. She is our most precious treasure and we’re lucky that she is blessed with so many wonderful aunts and uncles,” Séb said.

“Happy birthday Emily,” Urs raised his cup and did his famous blinky wink.

Emily giggled as she looked at Urs. She always did that when Urs did his blinky wink and it was obvious that the girl was an Uber. The others raised their cups and joined in the toast. Deanna excused herself and went into the kitchen to get the cake. She brought the cake in and it had Emily’s picture on it. Emily blew out the candles and as everyone clapped, her smile just got bigger. While they were eating cake, Séb stood and cleared his throat.

“I do have a few more things to say. We’ve all come a long way in our lives, both personal and music wise. It’s been a roller coaster ride with ups and downs but we’ve made it through the tough times. Soon we will be off to Sweden to record our new album and I hope there will be a lot more albums after that one. I can’t imagine not being part of Il Divo and I hope you guys feel the same way,” Séb looked at his friends.

“I think we all feel that way. I’d like to make another toast. To us and a lot more years of Il Divo,” David raised his cup.

The guys joined him in the toast and their wives looked at each other. As they looked at their men, they knew that Il Divo would be around for a long time. These four men had a special connection and as long as they had that connection, they would be part of the group named Il Divo.
