Chapter 73

Séb was the first to wake up the next morning and he looked at Sheena who was still sleeping in his arms. She looked so beautiful and he couldn’t find it in his heart to wake her up. Séb gently removed a strand of hair from her face and Sheena began to stir. She slowly opened her eyes to see Séb staring at her.

“I didn’t mean to wake you up. I’m sorry,” Séb apologized.

“Don’t be sorry,” Sheena smiled at him.

“What do you want to do today?” Séb asked her.

“Christmas is only a week away and I really think we should do some Christmas shopping. We have to buy presents for Amanda, our moms and Gary,” Sheena replied.

“And you have to buy a present for me,” Séb added.

“Only if you buy me a present,” Sheena told him.

“I’ve already bought your present,” Séb said with a smile.

“Really? What is it?” Sheena wanted to know.

“I won’t tell you. You have to wait until Christmas,” Séb told her.

“I hate you,” Sheena said.

“Of course you do,” Séb laughed.

“So what do you think of the plan?” Sheena looked at Séb.

“I like your plan. Let’s get some breakfast,” Séb kissed her.

They got out of bed and Séb went downstairs to start breakfast while Sheena put on a robe. She let out a yawn before she walked downstairs. When she walked into the kitchen, Séb was staring out of the window. Sheena couldn’t believe her eyes when she looked out of the window. It was snowing.

“Watching the snow brings back a lot of memories,” Sheena walked over to Séb.

“It sure does,” Séb turned to face her.

“This will be your first Christmas with Amanda,” Sheena touched his cheek.

“I know and I can’t wait. Breakfast is ready,” Séb said.

Séb and Sheena sat down and enjoyed their breakfast. They talked about what to buy for Amanda but they had no idea because her list of wishes was long. Little did they know that Amanda only had one wish for Christmas, a wish that wasn’t on the list.

After breakfast and the dishes were put away, Sheena and Séb went upstairs to get ready. An hour later they left the mansion and drove off.

“This is impossible,” Sheena let out a sigh.

“Maybe we should ask Amanda to remove a few wishes from the list?” Séb suggested.

“Good luck with that,” Sheena laughed.

“I know it won’t be easy. She is just as stubborn as you are,” Séb said.

“Yes she is. Ok, let’s focus on our moms and Gary for now,” Sheena put away Amanda’s wish list.

“Maybe we should buy something for Juliette,” Séb looked at Sheena.

“I completely forgot about her. We should do that,” Sheena agreed.

Séb held Sheena’s hand as they walked through the streets of Paris. People around them seemed to be in a hurry but Sheena and Séb had plenty of time. Amanda wouldn’t be home until 2pm so there was no need for them to hurry.

After buying presents for Camille, Millie, Gary and Juliette, Sheena and Séb decided to grab a cup of hot chocolate in a small cafe. It was still snowing when they left the cafe half an hour later. Séb had made plans for them to have lunch at their favorite bistro but he wanted it to be a surprise.

“Where are we going?” Sheena wanted to know.

“It’s a surprise but I know that you will love it,” Séb answered with a smile.

“Well, I hope that we are there soon because I’m freezing,” Sheena said.

“Here we are,” Séb said.

“I remember this place. This is where you told me that you loved me,” Sheena looked at him.

“Yes, it is,” Séb opened the door.

They went inside and the owner greeted both of them. He showed them to their table and told them that the food would be served soon.

“I hope you don’t mind but I ordered food when I booked the table,” Séb informed Sheena.

“I don’t mind. What are we having?” Sheena asked.

“The same thing we had the last time we were here,” Séb replied with a smile.

“That sounds good to me,” Sheena smiled at him.

The food was served and Séb and Sheena had a great time. It was almost 2pm when they arrived back at the mansion.

It was a little after 2pm when Camille and Amanda arrived at the mansion and of course Amanda was happy to see her parents after two weeks apart. Hugs and kisses were exchanged and both Camille and Amanda wanted to hear about the honeymoon.

“We will tell you everything but you have to change your clothes first,” Séb told Amanda.

“Ok daddy,” Amanda ran upstairs.

“Has she given you any problems?” Sheena asked Camille.

“She has been behaving like an angel. Amanda has been spending a lot of time with Gabrielle and the two of them have become best friends,” Camille replied.

“That’s good,” Sheena said.

“How are you doing?” Camille touched Sheena’s belly.

“I’m doing fine. My next checkup is after Christmas,” Sheena informed Camille.

“Do you want a boy or a girl?” Camille sipped her hot chocolate.

“It doesn’t matter. I want a healthy baby and I know that Séb feels the same way,” Sheena answered.

Amanda returned and they walked into the living room where Séb was waiting. Séb and Sheena told Camille and Amanda everything there was to tell and Séb showed them pictures. Amanda took one of the pictures and stared at it.

“You look beautiful mommy,” Amanda flashed her smile.

“Thanks pumpkin,” Sheena smiled back.

“It looks like you had a great time,” Camille added.

“We did. The resort was amazing and the food was delicious. It was perfect,” Séb said.

“Did you see any puppies?” Amanda asked.

“No, we didn’t,” Séb replied, wondering why she asked.

“Oh. That’s sad because puppies are so cute,” Amanda said.

“Why are you talking about puppies?” Sheena was curious.

“Gabrielle’s mommy and daddy gave her a puppy for her birthday. It is so cute,” Amanda replied as she tilted her head.

“I’m sure it is cute,” Sheena sipped her hot chocolate.

“Can I have a puppy for Christmas?” Amanda wanted to know.

“What?” Séb almost choked on his hot chocolate.

“Can I have a puppy too?” Amanda repeated her question.

“A puppy is a great responsibility,” Sheena told her.

“I know but I promise that I will take really good care of it,” Amanda said.

“We know you will but your mom and I need to talk about this. We can’t just say yes,” Séb explained.

“Christmas is around the corner so why don’t you ask Santa for a puppy?” Sheena asked.

“That’s a great idea. I will do that,” Amanda flashed her smile.

The subject was closed for now but they knew that Amanda would bring up the subject later. After they had finished the hot chocolate, Amanda went upstairs to her room for a nap. Camille had a dinner date so she had to leave and Séb and Sheena wanted to relax while Amanda was sleeping.

“Why did you tell her to ask Santa for a puppy?” Séb looked at Sheena.

“I don’t know. It just flew out,” Sheena told him.

“Well, we might have found the perfect Christmas present for Amanda,” Séb said.

“Do you really mean that?” Sheena was surprised.

“I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t mean it. I know a puppy is a great responsibility but we can do it,” Séb answered.

“I guess we are getting a dog then,” Sheena said.

“Let’s see if anyone is selling puppies,” Séb took out his laptop.

While Amanda was napping, Séb and Sheena were looking at puppies. They found three families in Paris who were selling puppies. The three families were selling different breeds and after discussing breeds for a few minutes, Séb and Sheena had made their decision. Séb picked up the phone and called the family.

“We got the puppy and we can see him the day after tomorrow,” Séb told Sheena.

“I can’t believe we’re doing this,” Sheena looked at him.

“Well, we are doing it. I just hope we picked the right breed,” Séb said.

“We did and Amanda will love him,” Sheena smiled at Séb.

“So will we,” Séb kissed her.

Séb and Sheena fell asleep on the couch and they were still sleeping when Amanda came down. She had been dreaming about puppies and she hoped that Santa would bring her a puppy for Christmas. Amanda woke up Sheena and Séb and the three of them prepared dinner together.

Chapter 74

---- Paris ----

The most wonderful time of the year had finally arrived. A thick layer of snow was covering the ground and the mansion looked like it was placed in the middle of a winter wonderland. The snow had started to fall the night before and it had been snowing all night and most of the morning too. It had stopped snowing right after noon but the weather forecast promised more snow later.

Millie and Gary had decided to leave Los Angeles a day earlier just in case the snow would close the airport and they had made the right decision. The airport had closed down two hours after the plane from Los Angeles had arrived.

Amanda had only experienced snow once in her life and of course she wanted to play in the snow. After lunch, Amanda had managed to talk Séb and Gary into playing with her and the three “children” had been having a blast. Gary had taught Amanda how to make snow angels and of course they couldn’t resist a snow ball fight.

While the “children” had been playing in the snow, Millie and Sheena had been busy in the kitchen. It was Christmas and it wouldn’t be Christmas without cookies so they had made four kind of cookies. Sheena had been watching a French baking show and one of the challenges had been to make a Bûche de Noël.

“I think you did a great job. It looks delicious,” Millie looked at the cake.

“Thanks. I hope it tastes as good as it looks. This is my first attempt to make a Bouche Noël and I just want it to be perfect,” Sheena said.

“Of course you want it to be perfect. You want everything to touch to be perfect,” Millie smiled at her.

“I know. It’s my worst flaw,” Sheena sighed.

“No, it’s not. It’s one of the things I love about you,” Séb suddenly said.

“What is?” Sheena questioned.

“Your perfectionism,” Séb replied, winking at her.

“Thanks,” Sheena said.

“When are you picking up Camille and you know who?” Millie asked Séb.

“After lunch. I hope I will be able to pick up both of them before it starts to snow again,” Séb answered.

“I will go with you,” Gary told him.

“Thanks. I need to change my clothes,” Séb excused himself.

“Maybe I should change too,” Gary smiled and left.

“Can we decorate the tree now, mommy?” Amanda entered the kitchen.

“It depends on your dad. Your dad and Gary have to pick up grandma Camille and maybe he wants to be here when we decorate the tree,” Sheena replied.

“You can decorate the tree but I want to be here when you put the angel on the tree and turn on the lights,” Séb walked into the kitchen.

“Ok, daddy,” Amanda flashed her smile.

Séb smiled back at her as he put on his coat. Gary and Séb said goodbye and left. As soon as they were gone, Amanda ran into the living room and straight over to the fireplace. She sat down in front of the fireplace and picked up her shoes. It’s a tradition in France that the children put their shoes in front of the fireplace so that Pere Noël can put Candy and presents in them.

“Pére Noël gave me candy and three small presents,” Amanda proudly said.

“You must have been an good girl,” Millie walked over to her.

“I’m always a good girl,” Amanda firmly stated.

“Not always but you have been good and maybe you will get a few Christmas presents today,” Sheena added.

“Yay,” Amanda flashed her smile.

They sat down on the floor next to the three cardboard boxes on the floor. Pierre had gathered a lot of Christmas decorations over the years and it was really difficult for Sheena to choose which ornaments to put on the tree. She asked Millie to put the lights on the tree and once the lights were on the tree, it was time to decorate. They had just finished decorating the tree when a car pulled up in front of the mansion. Shortly after, Séb, Gary and Camille walked into the living room.

“Grandma,” Amanda ran over to Camille.

“Hi sweetheart. How are you?” Camille hugged Amanda.

“I’m great. Mommy says that I will get my presents today,” Amanda flashed her smile.

“Some of your presents. You will get some today and the rest tomorrow,” Sheena looked at Amanda.

“Ok,” Amanda agreed.

“How are you feeling?” Camille hugged Sheena.

“I’m fine. The baby is growing and we are all excited,” Sheena answered.

“I’m excited too,” Camille smiled at her.

“We are all excited,” Millie added.

“It’s good to see you again,” Camille hugged Millie.

“You too,” Millie said.

“Wow. The tree looks fantastic,” Camille noticed the tree.

“Thanks. All we need now is to put the angel on top and turn on the lights,” Sheena handed the angel to Amanda.

Séb picked up Amanda and raised her above his head. She carefully placed the angel on top of the tree and Séb put her back down. Sheena, Amanda, Millie and Camille went into the kitchen to make some hot chocolate and Gary stayed in the living room with Séb. They put the presents under the tree and then Séb went into Sheena’s office to get the puppy.

When Sheena, Amanda, Millie and Camille returned to the living room, Gary turned on the lights and everyone was admiring the tree.

“I promised you some presents today and I think the time has come for you to open a few presents,” Sheena said, looking at Amanda.

“This one is from your grandma and me,” Gary handed Amanda a present.

Amanda opened it and she found a two ceramic bowls with paw prints painted on them. It was easy to see that Amanda was confused. She looked at her parents, then at Camille and finally Millie and Gary but she didn’t say anything.

“This one is from me,” Camille gave Amanda a present.

It was a dog collar and a leash and Amanda was even more confused now. She was only five and her mind was trying to understand what was going on.

“Thanks but I don’t need these things. I don’t have a dog,” Amanda sighed.

“Maybe you should open this one. It’s from your mom and me,” Séb placed a box in front of Amanda.

Amanda wasn’t sure if she wanted to open the box and she was a bit hesitant. When Séb told her that she wouldn’t be disappointed, she gently undid the red bow. She opened the box and let out a scream when she saw what was inside the box.

From Paris with love - Page 4 L-Puppy-husky_zpsnspculk6

“It’s a puppy,” Amanda looked at Sheena and Séb.

“It sure is. It’s a boy and you can name him anything you want,” Séb smiled at her.

“I will call him Divo,” Amanda said.

“Why Divo?” Sheena asked.

“I can’t name him after uncle Carlos, uncle David or uncle Urs and I can’t name him after daddy. The only name I can think of is Divo,” Amanda explained.

“Well, I think it’s a great name for him and he seems to like it,” Millie said.

Divo was wagging his tail and everyone agreed that Divo should be the name. Séb gently reached into the box and took out Divo. The dog ran straight over to Amanda and licked her face. Séb placed the collar around Divo’s neck and Amanda put him on a leash. She walked around the living room with Divo and he seemed to be fine with being on a leash. Amanda removed the leash from Divo and ran over to everyone and thanked them for the presents.

“Guess the food bowls, the collar and the leash were not bad presents after all,” Gary smiled at her.

“Nope,” Amanda said, her cheeks blushing.

“I think you need a nap,” Séb said when Amanda let out a yawn.

“Can Divo sleep with me in my room?” Amanda asked, tilting her head.

“Yes, but not in the bed,” Séb replied.

“Ok,” Amanda agreed.

She walked out of the living room and Divo followed her. Shortly after, she returned to the living room. Divo couldn’t walk on stairs and she couldn’t carry him upstairs. Gary offered to carry him upstairs and Amanda accepted the offer. When Gary returned to the living room, they finished their hot chocolate.

Chapter 75

----- Switzerland -----

It was morning in Switzerland and the snow had started to fall. The snowflakes looked like they were dancing and Miki couldn’t stop staring at them. Miki had been fascinated by snowflakes since she was a child and she would spend a lot of time studying snowflakes using a magnifying glass.

“Still studying snowflakes?” Urs wrapped his arms around her waist.

“Yes. I can’t help it. Did you know that every single snowflake is unique?” Miki asked him.

“You told me that a long time ago,” Urs kissed her cheek.

“I forgot to thank you for a wonderful evening and night,” Miki turned her head.

“You should thank my parents. It was their idea,” Urs smiled at her.

“Not all of it I hope,” Miki giggled.

“No, that part was my idea,” Urs blushed.

“You look so cute when you’re blushing,” Miki said.

“Thanks. I smell breakfast. We should put on some clothes and get our daughter,” Urs changed the subject.

“Good idea,” Miki agreed.

They got dressed and left the bedroom. As they walked down the hall to Dara and Nico’s bedroom to pick up Ellie, Dara emerged from the bathroom with Ellie in her arms.

“Good morning. I just changed her diaper and breakfast should be ready in a few minutes,” Dara told them.

“Thanks, Dara. Did my parents arrive yet?” Miki asked her.

“No but they are on their way. The road is currently closed because of an accident but they expect to be here soon,” Dara replied.

“That’s great. I don’t know about you but I’m starving,” Miki said.

“Me too. Let’s eat,” Urs said with a smile.

Nico was in the kitchen when they arrived and he greeted Miki and Urs. They took their seats at the table and Dara served them breakfast. She had just taken a seat when the doorbell rang. Dara was about to get up when Urs told her that he would get it. He walked to the hall and opened the door.

“You made it,” Urs stepped aside.

“Yes, we did. We saw two accidents and the road is really slippery now. I’m really glad that we’re not driving home tonight,” Constantin said, entering the hall.

“You’ve arrived just in time for breakfast,” Urs told them.

“That sounds good. I could really use a cup of coffee,” Eliane walked into the hall.

“Let me help you with your coat,” Urs said to Eliane.

Once their coats were removed, Urs escorted them into the kitchen. Hugs and kisses were exchanged and they sat down and enjoyed their breakfast. During breakfast they talked about the plans for the day even though they didn’t have much to talk about. Christmas at the Buhler home hadn’t changed much in ten years because the Buhlers had certain Christmas traditions and those traditions couldn’t be changed or left out.

However, there was one small change this year. A baby girl named Ellie Grace had entered the Buhler family and she would be celebrating her first Christmas. That was special and even though she had no idea what Christmas was, everyone wanted to make her first Christmas unforgettable.

Having breakfast together was one of the traditions and the second tradition was to go for a walk right after breakfast. Everyone went to their bedrooms to put on some warm clothes and then they went for a walk. It had stopped snowing and the only sound you could hear was the sound of footsteps as they walked through the snow.

It was an hour later when they walked back to the house. The snow had started to fall again and the wind was getting stronger. They had lived in Switzerland long enough to know that a blizzard was on its way.

When they arrived at the house, they all gathered in the living room where the tree was. Dara went into the kitchen to make some hot chocolate and the others began to look at the ornaments for the tree. When Dara walked in with the hot chocolate, the lights were on the tree and Miki and Urs were busy decorating the tree.

From Paris with love - Page 4 158787364_zpsyhfxs8yn

“The tree looks great but something is missing,” Dara said.

“Really? We’ve used all the ornaments and other decorations in the boxes,” Miki looked at her.

“A good friend of mine knows someone who makes personal Christmas ornaments and we gave my friend a few pictures of Ellie. She gave them to her friend and he came up with this,” Dara gave Urs and Miki a box.

Urs opened the box and he couldn’t believe his eyes. He looked at Miki who had tears in her eyes. Inside the box they found a pink Christmas ornament with Ellie’s picture on it.

“I spoke to your parents and we have decided to start a new tradition. Each year we will send a picture to my friend and her friend will make a Christmas ornament with Ellie’s picture on it. When you have more kids, we will do the same with their pictures,” Dara explained.

“I think it’s a great tradition and I love it,” Miki said.

“Me too. Thanks everyone,” Urs placed the ornament on the tree.

Once the tree was fully decorated, they all gathered in the TV room and watched “A Christmas Carol”. Watching “A Christmas Carol” had always been a tradition in the Hedinger family and Miki had been thrilled when the Buhler family agreed to add the tradition to their long list of traditions.

It was early afternoon when the movie ended and they all agreed that it was too late for a big lunch so Dara and Eliane made a few sandwiches for them to eat. After they had finished their sandwiches, Urs and Miki went upstairs to get some rest. Constantin promised to look after Ellie Grace who had fallen asleep in his arms.

“She is a beautiful baby,” Constantin said.

“Yes, she is,” Dara agreed.

“And hopefully Urs and Miki will have more just like her,” Eliane added.

“I hope the next one is a boy,” Nico said.

“Why? As long as the baby is healthy it shouldn’t matter if it’s a boy or a girl,” Dara looked at him.

“I agree but right now there are three girls in the Divo world. Amanda, Victoria and Ellie. We need boys too,” Nico told his wife.

“Well, we do have two pregnant Divo girls and maybe one of them will have a boy,” Dara smiled.

“We just have to wait and see,” Nico smiled back.

"I don’t know about you but I could use another cup of hot chocolate,” Dara said.

Nico, Constantin and Eliane also wanted another cup of hot chocolate and Dara went into the kitchen to warm the milk. When she returned, she placed the tray on the table and walked over to the window.

“Look at that,” Dara said.

“That looks bad. I think we should get some more firewood before the blizzard gets worse,” Nico got up.

“I will help you,” Constantin got up too.

He placed Ellie Grace in Eliane’s arms and left the living room with Nico. The two men quickly put on their coats and mittens and left the house. They returned with the firewood and placed it next to the fireplace. After removing their coats and mittens, they sat down and finished their hot chocolate.

“How bad is it?” Eliane asked.

“It’s bad. You can’t see anything out there. I had to hold on to Nico when we walked to the shed and back or I would have gotten lost,” Constantin answered.

“Then it is bad,” Eliane said.

“What are you talking about?” Urs walked into the living room.

“The blizzard. Your dad and Constantin went outside to get some more firewood and they couldn’t see anything out there,” Eliane explained.

“It really does look bad,” Urs walked over to the window.

“Where is Miki?” Dara asked.

“I’m here,” Miki walked into the living room.

“Good. You’re just in time to help us with dinner,” Dara walked over to her.

“Great. Let’s get started,” Miki smiled at her.

Dara, Miki and Eliane disappeared into the kitchen and Urs checked on Eliie who was beginning to stir in her crib. Urs picked her up and walked over to the couch and sat down. Ellie’s eyes were still closed and Urs gently rocked her in his arms.

“You’re a great dad. Better than I was,” Nico said to him.

“You were a great dad,” Urs looked at him.

“Not when you were her age. I didn’t know what I was doing. Your mom got mad at me sometimes and looking back, I don’t blame her,” Nico laughed.

“Well, you must have done something right because I think that I turned out ok,” Urs smiled at his dad.

“You sure did. I’m proud to call you my son,” Nico placed his hand on Urs’ shoulder.

Urs was about to speak when Ellie Grace began to cry. Miki walked into the living room and sat down next to Urs who placed Ellie Grace in her arms. Nico and Constantin walked into the kitchen to help Dara and Eliane with dinner while Miki was feeding Ellie.

As soon as Ellie had been fed, Miki went upstairs to give Ellie a bath while Urs walked into the kitchen to help with dinner. After the bath, Miki dried off Ellie and dressed her up in the outfit that Eliane had made for her.

From Paris with love - Page 4 C9d6667002f66d0eb56cb7157ddeb7e9_zpsewpdxddl

Miki walked downstairs and joined the others in the kitchen. She couldn’t wait to show everyone how cute Ellie looked in her outfit. Miki announced that they were back and everyone turned around to look at them.

“Our very own Santa baby,” Urs walked over to Miki and kissed her.

“She looks so cute,” Dara added.

“I couldn’t agree with you more,” Eliane said to Dara.

“I hate to spoil the fun but I think it’s time for us to get ready for dinner,” Constantin looked at his watch.

“You’re right about that. Dara and I will stay here and the rest of you can get ready for dinner,” Eliane told him.

Dara agreed and Miki placed Ellie in Eliane’s arms before she went upstairs with Urs. When Miki and Urs returned, Dara and Eliane went upstairs to get ready. Half an hour later, they all sat down at the dining room table and enjoyed their Christmas dinner.

Chapter 76

----- Paris -----

It was almost 10pm when Sheena turned on the dishwasher. It had been a great Christmas Eve so far and everyone was having a great time. The snow was still falling slowly outside and Sheena looked at the lake in front of the mansion. It was covered in ice and snow and it brought back memories to her first Christmas with Séb.

“Did you forget about us?” Séb walked into the kitchen.

“I’m sorry. I got lost in my own thoughts,” Sheena turned to look at him.

“Would you like to share those thoughts?” Séb walked over to her.

“I was looking at the lake and it got me thinking of our first Christmas together,” Sheena said.

“I remember that Christmas. We went ice skating in the park late at night,” Séb kissed her neck.

“Yes, we did,” Sheena turned around, still locked in his embrace.

“We could do it again tonight when everyone has gone to bed,” Séb suggested.

“No because we don’t have any skates here,” Sheena slipped out of his embrace.

Séb didn’t say anything. He just watched Sheena as she poured the hot chocolate into the mugs and placed them on the tray along with the cake. Séb grabbed the tray and they joined the others in the living room.

“Did you make the cake?” Camille asked Sheena.

“Yes, I did. I’ve never made it before but I hope it tastes good,” Sheena replied.

Séb cut the cake and passed a piece to Camille. Sheena was nervous when Camille tasted the cake but she had nothing to worry about.

“I couldn’t have made it better myself. It’s delicious,” Camille smiled at Sheena.

“Thanks,” Sheena smiled back.

They all enjoyed the cake and the hot chocolate. Amanda opened three more presents before it was bedtime. She said goodnight to everyone and Sheena went with her upstairs. Amanda claimed that she wasn’t tired but she fell asleep the second her head hit the pillow. Sheena kissed her softly and went downstairs.

It was almost midnight when Camille, Millie and Gary said goodnight. Sheena cleared the table and carried the mugs and plates into the kitchen. While Sheena was in the kitchen, Séb was in the living room, preparing his surprise for her. He sat down on the fur rug he had placed in front of the fireplace and waited for Sheena to return.

“What is going on?” Sheena walked into the living room.

“You will see. Come and sit down,” Séb reached out his hand.

Sheena placed her hand in Séb’s and sat down next to him. She looked at him, wondering what he was up to. Without saying a word, Séb reached for a present under the tree and gave it to Sheena.

“Open it,” Séb said.

“But it’s not time for presents yet,” Sheena looked at him.

“It’s past midnight so technically it is,” Séb smiled at her.

“That’s true,” Sheena smiled back.

Séb watched her closely as she opened the present and he couldn’t wait to see her reaction. Sheena looked at the content and she couldn’t believe her eyes.

“Where did you get those?” Sheena asked him.

“I’ve had them since you left Paris. You forgot to take them with you when you left,” Séb replied.

“I can’t believe that you kept them,” Sheena said.

“Maybe I hoped that one day we could go ice skating again. It’s Christmas, the snow is falling and the lake is frozen so what do you say? Would you like to go ice skating with me?” Séb looked at her.

“I’d love to,” Sheena smiled at him.

Séb and Sheena put on some warm clothes and left the mansion. Once they were at the lake, they put on their ice skates and got on the ice. Séb was being very protective of Sheena as they ran across the ice because he didn’t want anything to happen to her or the baby.

After spending about ten minutes on the ice, Séb and Sheena returned to the mansion. They took off their coats and went upstairs to get some sleep.

The Buhlers and Hedingers had finished dinner and they were now relaxing in the living room in front of the fireplace. They had been listening to the radio all evening because of the weather condition and according to the latest weather forecast, the blizzard would continue its rage over night.

“What are you thinking of, mutti?” Urs asked Dara.

“I was just thinking of tomorrow. If the blizzard continues then I don’t think the others will get here and we will be stuck with a lot of food,” Dara replied.

“They will get here. This isn’t the first time we’ve had a blizzard and they will find a way to get here,” Urs hugged her.

“I know they will. They’ve never let us down before,” Dara smiled at him.

“I want to say something before we say goodnight. Miki and I want to thank you all for making Ellie’s first Christmas a good one. She has no idea what Christmas is all about and I know that she is way too young to remember this Christmas but Miki and I will never forget it,” Urs said.

“Constantin took a lot of pictures so when she is old enough, you can show her the pictures from her first Christmas,” Eliane told him.

“I will make a scrapbook for her,” Constantin added.

“That would be great. Thanks dad,” Miki said with a smile.

“Well, it’s past midnight and I think it’s time for us to say goodnight. Tomorrow will be a long day for all of us,” Dara said.

“And to us it will also be a special day. Tomorrow the family will meet Ellie for the first time,” Miki added with a smile.

“They will love her just as much as we do,” Constantin hugged his daughter.

“I know they will,” Miki agreed.

A few minutes later they all went to their rooms to get a good night’s sleep. Miki was standing by the window when Urs emerged from the bathroom. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her.

“Are you worried about tomorrow?” Urs asked.

“A little. I love my sister but I’m afraid of how she will react to Ellie. You know how much she wants a baby and oh, I don’t know,” Miki sighed.

“She won’t kidnap our daughter if that is what you are afraid of,” Urs told her.

“How can you be so sure of that? She will do anything to get a baby,” Miki turned to look at him.

“Do you seriously think that she would do something like that?” Urs was shocked.

“I don’t know. Maybe not but I won’t let Ellie out of my sight tomorrow,” Miki said.

“Let’s get some sleep,” Urs suggested.

Miki nodded in agreement and they climbed into bed. Urs pulled Miki close and whispered to her that everything would be alright but deep down he was just as worried as she was. Miki’s youngest sister was a bit crazy and she would do anything to get what she wanted. He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 77

---- Los Angeles ----

"Good morning, beautiful. Breakfast is ready,” Carlos walked into the bedroom.

“What time is it?” Rebecca asked, letting out a yawn.

“It’s almost 9am,” Carlos sat down on the bed.

“Why didn’t you wake me up? Your parents and Antonio will be arriving in a few hours,” Rebecca said.

“I know they will be but you looked so peaceful and you need your beauty sleep,” Carlos leaned in for a kiss.

“Are you saying that I’m ugly?” Rebecca pulled back.

“No, that’s not what I’m saying. Your doctor says that everything is fine but you haven’t slept much in the last week and you need sleep. Not just for your sake but for our baby’s sake too,” Carlos replied.

“I know,” Rebecca kissed him.

“Let’s get some breakfast,” Carlos said.

Rebecca nodded her head in agreement and followed him to the kitchen where the couple enjoyed their breakfast.

---- LAX - Two hours later ----

Carlos and Rebecca were waiting for José, Consuela and Antonio to arrive. According to the screen, the plane had arrived on time and the passengers were waiting for their luggage. Antonio was the first one to step into the arrival hall, followed by José and Consuela. Hugs and kisses were exchanged and Consuela placed her hand on Rebecca’s belly.

“The baby is really growing,” Consuela said with a smile.

“I know it is and I feel like a blimp,” Rebecca sighed.

“You look beautiful,” Consuela hugged her.

“Thanks,” Rebecca smiled.

Carlos, Antonio and José grabbed the suitcases and the presents and they all left the airport. Antonio helped Carlos getting the suitcases and presents into the trunk of the car and the others climbed into the car. As they drove to the apartment, they shared news about family and friends.

Carlos and Rebecca had turned one of the guest rooms into a nursery so they only had one guest room available. Antonio would be staying with Carlos and Rebecca in the apartment and José and Consuela would be staying with Marianna and Roberto at their house.

“My parents will be arriving soon and then we will have a light lunch. After lunch we will decorate the tree and then we will relax before we have to start dinner. After dinner we go for a walk. How do you all feel about that?” Rebecca looked at them.

“I think we all like that idea,” Consuela looked at Antonio and José.

“Great. Now let’s go into the living room and relax,” Rebecca said.

Carlos went into the kitchen to get some drinks and he joined the others in the living room. He had just taken a seat on the couch when the doorbell rang. Carlos excused himself and disappeared into the hallway, returning shortly after with Marianna and Roberto. After exchanging hugs and kisses, they all enjoyed a light lunch.

After lunch, Carlos and Antonio picked up the tree while Rebecca, Consuela and Marianna found all of the decorations for the tree. When Carlos and Antonio returned, they all participated in decorating the tree.

From Paris with love - Page 4 11748759_10153541242123413_53388262_n_zpszdwp8ofo

After decorating the tree, they all sat down in the living room and shared news from Madrid and Los Angeles. Time went by really fast and before they knew it, it was time to start preparing dinner. The three women were busy in the kitchen and Consuela asked Carlos and Antonio to set the dining room table. Both of them got up and Carlos found the plates while Antonio found the wineglasses. It didn’t take long to set the table and after the job was done, they joined Roberto and José in the living room.

It was 7pm when they all gathered around the dining room table. The turkey smelled delicious and so did the rest of the food. The conversation during dinner was mostly about New Year’s Eve. Carlos and Rebecca wanted to throw a big party for friends and family and the Divos had already agreed to come.

“Will there be any single girls at the party?” Antonio asked.

“Why do you ask? I thought you were dating a girl in Madrid,” Carlos looked at Antonio.

“I was dating a girl but she fell in love with someone else. She told me that he was a lot older than her and I wondered what she wanted with an old man like him. I later found out that he had a lot of money and then it all made sense,” Antonio said.

“It sounds to me like you are better off without her. Sheena and I have got a lot of single girlfriends and I’m sure they would love to meet you,” Rebecca told him.

“If that is the case then you can count me in. I will be there,” Antonio promised.

“We will be there too if we can stay with Roberto and Marianna until after New Year’s,” José said as he looked at Roberto.

“You are more than welcome to stay with us and so are you,” Roberto looked at Antonio.

“Thank you,” Antonio said.

“What about clothes? Did you bring enough clothes to stay until after New Year’s?” Rebecca asked.

“Don’t worry about that. Consuela always packs clothes for at least two weeks no matter how long she will be away,” José answered with a smile.

“Well, you never know what will happen. This time it was a good idea to bring extra clothes,” Consuela defended herself.

“I’m married to a wise woman,” José kissed his wife.

“Some of us are still eating,” Antonio winked at him.

José started laughing and shortly after everyone was laughing. They finished their dinner and after the dishes were put away and the table had been cleared, they all went for a walk. José and Consuela had never celebrated Christmas in Los Angeles and Rebecca wanted them to experience what it was like.

After the tour, they returned to the apartment and Carlos offered them a drink. They spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing and it was past midnight when they said goodnight and went to bed.

Chapter 78

---- Denver ----

Jill Miller, David’s mom, looked at her children and grandchildren as they were having breakfast. It had been two years since the whole family had been together for Christmas and she just wanted to enjoy every minute of it.

John Miller, David’s older brother, had been involved in a motorcycle accident a few years back and it caused him to fall into a depression which became worse when his wife suddenly walked out on him. With the help of family, friends and therapy, John managed to get out of his depression and he was a new person. He was now in a relationship with Katherine, a single mom with two kids, and they were happy together.

Stella Miller, David’s older sister, had flown in from New York with her husband and their two children and his younger sister, Madeleine, had arrived from Canada where she is living with her husband and their two year old daughter.

“Are you ok, mom?” David asked Jill.

“Yes, I’m fine. I’m so happy that you’re all here for Christmas,” Jill replied with a smile.

“We’re all happy to be here,” John added.

The others agreed with John and Jill took her seat at the table and joined the family. After breakfast, they all gathered in the living room where the tree was. The adults all sat down and they watched the children as they decorated the tree. The older children helped the younger children and it was nice to see how well they all got along. The youngest grandchild was six months and the oldest was seven.

When the children had finished decorating the tree, they all went for a walk. The children wanted to go ice skating and they all ended up at the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park. David and John were having a good time on the ice with the children.

After spending a little over an hour skating, the group continued their walk and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was almost lunch time when they returned to the house and the women went into the kitchen to prepare some lunch.

“Katherine and I have got some news to share. We’re getting married,” John said as they were having lunch.

“That is good news and I’m so happy for both of you,” Jill got up and hugged both of them.

“Thanks. We don’t want a big wedding. Just a small wedding with our closest family and a few friends. We want to get married shortly after New Year’s and we were hoping to get married here, just like you and dad a long time ago,” John told her.

“I would be proud to host your wedding,” Jill said with a smile.

They continued to eat their lunch and of course the conversation during lunch was mostly about the upcoming wedding.

“What are you thinking of?” Maggie asked David when they were alone.

“I’m just thinking of John and how well he is doing. I went to see him last year at Christmas and he was just sitting in a chair, staring into thin air. It’s hard to believe that he has changed so much in twelve months. He is happier than he has ever been before,” David replied.

“I remember last year. I hardly recognized him when I went with you to see him. I’m happy that he is doing so well. He has met a great woman and the children love him like a father,” Maggie walked over to him.

“They certainly do. He deserves to be happy and I’m happy for him,” David turned and pulled Maggie close.

He kissed her deeply and Maggie returned the kiss. They broke the kiss when there was a knock on the door. David cursed as he walked to the door. He opened the door to see Madeleine standing there with a big smile on her face.

“I hope I’m not interrupting but mom wanted me to tell you that it’s time to start dinner,” Madeleine said with a smile.

“We will be right down,” David told her.

“Next time you might want to put a sign on the door,” Madeleine laughed.

“Get out of here,” David said with a smile.

“See you downstairs,” Madeline said and left.

“Sisters,” David rolled his eyes.

“Don’t say that. You’re lucky to have sisters and Madeleine is a sweetheart,” Maggie said.

“She certainly is and it’s really hard for me to get mad at her,” David agreed.

“I can tell. Now let’s go downstairs and help with dinner,” Maggie looked at him.

“Lead the way,” David smiled at her.

The living room was buzzing with activity as the children were playing games and the adults had all gathered in the kitchen. They enjoyed a glass of wine as they were cooking and everyone participated in cooking dinner. Jill asked the older children to help with setting the table and it didn’t take long for Madeline, Maggie and the children to set the table.

“The table looks beautiful. You all did a good job,” Jill said when she saw the table.

“Thanks but the children did most of it,” Maggie told her.

“It’s nice to have so many grandchildren but I wouldn’t mind having a few more,” Jill winked and left.

“I think that was meant for you because my daughter is only six months old and it’s too soon for us to have another baby,” Maggie looked at Madeleine.

“Well, it is Christmas and maybe Santa will give Jill what she wants,” Madeleine said.

“Oh my God. Are you?” Maggie was curious.

“Yes, I am but don’t tell anyone,” Madeleine answered with a smile.

“Don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone,” Maggie smiled back.

“Thanks. I’m so glad that you’re my sister-in-law,” Madeleine hugged Maggie.

“Me too,” Maggie said.

They returned to the kitchen and the food was almost ready so Jill told everyone to go upstairs and get ready for dinner. David took a quick shower and Maggie gave Victoria a bath. When David had gotten dressed, Maggie went into the bathroom to take a quick shower. When she returned to the bedroom to get dressed, David was waiting for her with Victoria in his arms. She looked so adorable in her outfit.

From Paris with love - Page 4 Il_340x270.610072672_nwju_zpsfpgg9fxp

“Where did you find that?” Maggie asked as she got dressed.

“I found it on a website and I asked my mom to order it because I wanted it to be a surprise,” David replied.

“It’s so cute,” Maggie said with a smile.

“It sure is. Are you ready to celebrate Victoria’s first Christmas?” David looked at Maggie.

“I sure am,” Maggie said.

They went downstairs and joined the others in the dining room. The food was served and everyone was enjoying their Christmas dinner. After dinner they all gathered in the living room and it was past midnight when they went to bed.

Chapter 79

Christmas and New Years had passed and a new year had begun. The new year would be an exciting year for the Divos. In March they would begin recording the new album and baby Marin would make her or his appearance in May. Baby Izambard would make an appearance in July and in November the new album would be released, followed by a short promotion tour.

For Antonio, the trip to Los Angeles had been a really good one because he had fallen in love with a beautiful girl named Gabrielle. They had met at the New Year’s Eve party and it was love at first sight for both of them. Gabrielle or Gaby as she was called was half French and half American but she was born and raised in Los Angeles. She had known Rebecca and Sheena since kindergarten and the girls had always been there for each other.

Gaby’s mom had passed away and after her death, her dad became a completely different person. He kept to himself and he never spoke to anyone. The loss of his wife became too much for him and he killed himself a few months later. Within two months, Gaby had lost both of her parents and just before Christmas she had lost her job as an art teacher.

After losing her job, Gaby made a decision. She said goodbye to Los Angeles and moved to Paris to be close to her family. It was time to start a new life in Paris, far away from the memories.

It was almost 5pm when Sheena pulled up in front of the mansion. It had been a long and emotional day for her because of the decision she had made earlier that day. As she walked to the front door, she wondered how Séb would take the news. She opened the door and was greeted by Amanda and Divo.

“Hi mommy,” Amanda hugged Sheena.

“Hi pumpkin. Is your dad here?” Sheena asked as she petted Divo’s head.

“Daddy is in the kitchen. He is making spaghetti and meatballs for dinner,” Amanda replied, licking her lips.

"Great. I can’t wait to taste it,” Sheena said.

“I promise you that it will be delicious. Just like me,” Séb walked into the hall

“Well, you are delicious,” Sheena smiled at him.

“I know I am,” Séb kissed her.

“Can I take a shower before we eat?” Sheena asked.

“Of course you can and you look like you need it. Bad day?” Séb wanted to know.

“I will tell you about it later,” Sheena replied and went upstairs.

“Is mommy ok?” Amanda asked Séb.

“Your mom is just tired sweetheart. Let’s finish dinner,” Séb said.

*Charles De Gaulle Airport*

Gaby was happy when she saw that Antonio’s plane had landed on time. When they said goodbye in Los Angeles, Gaby had invited him to stay with her for a week once she got settled in Paris. That was two weeks ago and the time had come for Antonio to visit her.

Antonio had left the plane and was on his way to the baggage reclaim area to get his suitcase. There was a ten minute delay but it felt like an eternity. He couldn’t wait to see Gaby again and he hoped that she was feeling the same way.

It was fifteen minutes later when Antonio left the baggage reclaim area and walked into the arrival hall. He instantly spotted Gaby and the smile on her face told him that she was happy to see him. Antonio hurried over to her and picked her up before he placed a kiss on her lips.

“I’ve missed you so much,” Antonio said to her.

“Not as much as I’ve missed you. I suggest we go back to the apartment so you can take a shower and get dressed for dinner,” Gaby looked at him.

“I like your suggestion. Let’s go,” Antonio smiled as he took her hand.

After her shower and getting dressed, Sheena went downstairs and joined her family in the kitchen. Once Sheena was in the kitchen, Amanda and Divo showed her a new trick they had been working on. Divo had learned to play dead and Amanda was proud of herself and Divo.

“Well done both of you,” Sheena said with a smile.

“Thanks mommy. Divo learns fast,” Amanda returned the smile.

Divo wagged his little tail and he ran over to Sheena. He was just about to jump up when Séb cleared his throat. Divo stopped and looked at Séb with a confused look on his face. The poor dog had no idea what he had done wrong and Sheena felt sorry for him.

“Come on,” Sheena gestured for Divo to jump up on her lap.

“Sheena Izambard!” Séb raised his voice.

“What?” Sheena looked at him.

“He will never learn to behave as long as we don’t agree on certain things. I don’t want him to jump up. It is a bad habit,” Séb said.

“I know you don’t want anything to happen to me or the baby but don’t take it out on Divo. He is just a puppy and him jumping up on my lap won’t hurt me or the baby,” Sheena told him, flashing her smile.

“I hate it when you do that,” Séb drained the pasta.

“I know and that’s why I do it. Can I help with anything?” Sheena rose from the chair.

“No, you can’t because everything is ready. Let’s eat,” Séb replied.

The family sat down and enjoyed a nice family dinner. Divo was in his bed, waiting for Amanda to finish her dinner so they could play a little before bedtime.

“Welcome to my apartment. I’m sorry for the mess but I’m still unpacking. You can put your suitcase in the bedroom. Second door on your left,” Gaby told Antonio.

“Don’t you have a spare bedroom?” Antonio wanted to know.

“No, but you can sleep on the couch if you want to. It’s not very comfortable but it’s yours if you want it,” Gaby answered without looking at him.

“I’m sorry. I don’t want you to think that I don’t want to sleep in your bedroom but I don’t trust myself around you. I love you and I want to be with you but I don’t want you to feel like I’m taking advantage of you,” Antonio walked over to her.

“I know you wouldn’t. I feel the same way but nothing has to happen just because we sleep in the same bed. It will happen when the time is right. If the time is right tonight then it will happen tonight,” Gaby looked at him.

“I’m glad we agree. Now show me where the bathroom is so I can get ready for dinner,” Antonio pulled her close.

“Last door on the right,” Gaby said.

Antonio kissed her softly before he disappeared into the bathroom. Half an hour later they walked out of the apartment and went to Gaby’s favorite restaurant in Paris.

The Izambards were relaxing in the living room and Divo was sleeping on the couch next to Amanda. Friday evening was movie night and between 7pm and 9pm, it was Disney time. Amanda could pick a Disney movie but it had to be a different movie every Friday. They didn’t want to watch ‘Beauty and the Beast’ every Friday, so they had to make that rule.

Amanda had picked “Cinderella” but halfway through the movie she fell asleep and Séb had to carry her upstairs. Once Amanda was in her bed, Séb turned out the lights and left the bedroom. When he came downstairs, the TV was off and Sheena had made herself comfortable on the couch.

“What happened to movie night?” Séb asked as he joined her on the couch.

“Movie night is still on but we need to talk first,” Sheena replied.

“Ok. I’m listening,” Séb looked at her.

“I quit my teaching job today,” Sheena told him.

“Why did you do that? You love your job,” Séb was stunned.

“I do love the job but I’m not superwoman. I can’t work two jobs and take care of a baby. A baby and a job I can do but not a baby and two jobs. I’ve got a friend who needs the job more than I do and I have already recommended her to the school board. They will make their decision on Monday but I know that Gaby will get the job. If they don’t hire her then they are stupid,” Sheena explained.

“Does Gaby know about this?” Séb sipped his wine.

“No, and I don’t want her to know about it. She will know when they contact her and offer her the job,” Sheena answered with a smile.

“You are an amazing person,” Séb looked at her.

“Thanks, so are you. We do make a great couple,” Sheena said.

“Yes, we do. Now let’s see what’s on TV tonight,” Séb picked up the remote.

“Would you like to meet my grandparents?” Gaby asked Antonio.

“Tonight?” Antonio looked at her.

“No, not tonight. My grandparents want to meet you and they have invited us for dinner tomorrow,” Gaby answered.

“I would love to meet them,” Antonio smiled at her.

“Great. What do you want to do now? Go back to the apartment or take a closer look at Paris?” Gaby looked at him.

“Go back to the apartment. I’m tired,” Antonio replied.

“Fine with me. We can go sightseeing tomorrow,” Gaby agreed.

They went back to Gaby’s apartment and made plans for sightseeing the next day. Antonio had been in Paris before but he never had time to go sightseeing so he wanted to see everything and Gaby was more than happy to show him Paris. It was close to midnight when they went to bed.

It was midnight when Séb and Sheena went to bed. Sheena cuddled up to Séb and within five minutes she was sleeping. The moonlight softly caressed Sheena’s face and she looked so beautiful. Séb felt like the luckiest man on earth and he smiled to himself as he gently touched Sheena’s belly. His life was just as he had always wanted it to be. With a soft kiss to Sheena’s forehead, Séb closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 80

Miki was standing by the window, thinking back on the events that had occurred during their trip back to Switzerland. Well, actually it was only one event that was on her mind; the event which included her youngest sister.

“They are here,” Urs walked into the bedroom.

“Where is Ellie? Is she safe?” Miki asked him.

“Yes, she is safe and I don’t think you have to worry about your sister kidnapping her,” Urs closed the door.

“How can you say that? I’ve told you that she will do anything to get a baby,” Miki raised her voice.

“You’ve told me that but you really don’t have to worry about her stealing our baby or another baby for that matter,” Urs said.

“I don’t understand how you can be so calm when there is a psycho in the house right now. She could be planning how to kidnap Ellie right now and you are acting like you don’t care. What is wrong with you? Don’t you love our daughter?” Miki asked him.

“She is not planning how to kidnap Ellie and don’t you ever accuse me of not loving Ellie. I love Ellie with all my heart and I will do anything for her,” Urs replied with anger in his voice.

“Then why don’t you want to protect Ellie from my psycho sister downstairs?” Miki looked at him.

“Because she doesn’t need protection from your sister. Your sister is downstairs, holding a baby in her arms as we speak,” Urs walked over to her.

“So she stole another woman’s baby. That girl is out of control,” Miki felt her blood boiling.

“She didn’t steal the baby. The baby belongs to your sister and her husband,” Urs explained.

“Are you telling me that my sister is downstairs, holding a baby?” Miki looked at him.

“Yes, that is what I am telling you. A beautiful baby boy,” Urs replied.

“What? How?” Miki was confused.

“I will let your sister tell you all the details,” Urs laughed.

“I’m sorry for yelling at you and accusing you of not loving Ellie. I didn’t mean what I said. I know how much you love her,” Miki apologized, looking at the floor.

“I know you didn’t mean it and I forgive you. What you said was said in anger,” Urs touched her face.

“Thanks,” Miki smiled at him.

“Are you ready to meet your nephew?” Urs asked.

“Of course I am,” Miki answered with a big smile.

*End of flashback*

“Are you ok?” Urs walked up to Miki.

“I’m fine. I was just thinking of my sister’s Christmas present for all of us,” Miki turned to face him.

“It did come as a surprise but I understand why they didn’t tell us about the baby earlier. They wanted to be absolutely sure before they told anyone, just like David and Maggie did,” Urs said.

“I know. What time is it?” Miki asked.

“It’s time for us to get ready. They will be here in half an hour,” Urs replied as he pulled Miki close.

“Great. I will go first,” Miki kissed him and disappeared into the bathroom.

“What are you working on?” Carlos walked into Rebecca’s home office.

“I’m just working on some new designs,” Rebecca replied.

“This looks like baby clothes,” Carlos picked up one of the drawings.

“It is baby clothes. Well, newborn to two year old. I thought of calling it ‘Divas and Divos’ or ‘Little Divas and Divos’. What do you think?” Rebecca looked at Carlos.

“I love the idea. What are you thinking? Small tuxes for the boys and ballgowns for the girls?” Carlos joked.

“That’s not a bad idea. ‘Divas and Divos Gold’. I like that,” Rebecca said.

“I was joking,” Carlos said.

“I know but I love the idea,” Rebecca smiled at him.

“So you want to make two lines of clothing?” Carlos asked her.

“Yes. Casual clothes and party clothes. I have so many ideas in my head and since the girls are taking care of the orders we have now, I will have time to draw new lines,” Rebecca explained.

“As long as you don’t work too hard,” Carlos sat down next to her.

“The baby is not due for four months but I promise not to work too hard,” Rebecca promised.

“Do you believe in flying pigs too?” Carlos laughed.

“As a matter of fact I do. Sheena and I have seen many flying pigs when we were younger and if you don’t believe me, then you should ask her,” Rebecca firmly stated.

“You’re kidding me, right?” Carlos looked at her.

“There is only one way to find out. Call Sheena and ask her,” Rebecca said.

Carlos picked up his phone and was about to dial Sheena’s number when Rebecca stopped him. She reminded him that it was after midnight in Paris and Carlos put down the phone.

“I really hate time zones,” Carlos said.

“Me too,” Rebecca agreed.

“I don’t feel like cooking tonight. What do you want for dinner? Chinese?” Carlos asked Rebecca.

“Chinese sounds good and you know what I like,” Rebecca licked her lips.

“Yes, I do,” Carlos wiggled his eyebrows.

“I was talking about Chinese food,” Rebecca said.

“So was I,” Carlos kissed her.

“What are you up to?” Rebecca looked at him.

“Isn’t it obvious?” Carlos rose from the chair, taking Rebecca’s hand.

Rebecca knew that she couldn’t resist Carlos’ Spanish charm so she rose from the chair and followed Carlos.

Maggie was sitting in the living room, reading a book when she heard the doorbell. David wasn’t home and she knew that he wouldn’t be home until later in the evening so it couldn’t be him. She rose from the couch and walked into the hallway. Maggie opened the door and a young man’s face appeared.

“Is this David Miller’s home?” the young man asked.

“Yes, it is. I’m his wife, Maggie. Who are you?” Maggie asked.

“My name is Jason Saunders and I really need to talk to David Miller,” Jason replied.

“I’m sorry but my husband is not home at the moment and it might be a few hours before he comes home. Is it something I can help you with?” Maggie looked at Jason.

“No, not really. It is personal,” Jason explained.

“Oh, ok. Would you like to come in? I was just about to make dinner,” Maggie said.

“I don’t want to intrude,” Jason told her.

“You are not intruding. Come on in,” Maggie stepped aside.

“Thank you,” Jason walked into the hallway.

He removed his coat and Maggie showed him into the living room. She offered him something to drink and Jason asked for a soda. Maggie disappeared into the kitchen, returning a few seconds later with two sodas.

“How do you know my husband?” Maggie asked.

“I don’t know him but my mom and David were dating for a few weeks about fifteen years ago. My mom was offered a job in Australia and she couldn’t say no to the job, so she broke up with David and moved to Australia. She met a man, Mike Saunders, and after a few months of dating, they got married. And then I was born,” Jason said.

“So your mom and David were dating but I don’t understand why you are here,” Maggie said.

“My dad died six months ago and after his death, I had to go through all of his personal papers. I found some documents that clearly stated that my dad wasn’t my dad. When I asked my mom, she refused to talk about it. I continued to go through the papers and I found this letter,” Jason pulled out a letter.

Maggie took the letter and read it. Her eyes scanned the letter and she couldn’t believe what she was reading. She was shocked by the content of the letter and she didn’t know how to react or what to say. After reading the letter, she placed it on the table in front of her and looked at Jason.

“I can tell that you are shocked and I was shocked too when I read it,” Jason said.

“Is it possible that your mom is lying?” Maggie asked.

“Why would she lie to me about something as important as this?” Jason looked at Maggie.

“You’re right. I’m sorry. I guess it is just too much for me to deal with,” Maggie apologized to him.

“No need to apologize. I understand how you must feel,” Jason smiled at her.

“Thanks for understanding. Can I get you some more soda?” Maggie asked.

“No thanks. I’m staying with a friend and his parents are expecting me for dinner so I should probably leave,” Jason replied.

“Oh, ok. Would you mind if I show the letter to David?” Maggie wanted to know.

“Of course not,” Jason rose from the couch.

“Do you have a phone number where we can reach you in case David wants to meet you?” Maggie rose from the couch.

Jason gave Maggie his phone number before they walked into the hallway. He put on his coat and said goodbye to Maggie. After closing the door behind Jason, Maggie walked into the nursery to check on Victoria. The little girl was still sleeping peacefully so Maggie walked into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of wine. She walked into the living room and placed the wine on the table next to the letter. Maggie picked up the letter and read it again. Could this be true? Thoughts were running through her head and she was so deep into her own thoughts that she didn’t hear David when he came home. David walked into the living room and saw Maggie on the couch, holding a letter in her hand. She just stared at the letter and David was worried about her.

“Are you ok?” David walked over to the couch and sat down.

“I have a letter for you,” Maggie looked at him.

“For me? Who is it from?” David asked, picking up the letter.

“It’s from Michelle Saunders and I really think you should read it. I will start dinner,” Maggie said and rose from the couch.

“I don’t know anyone called Michelle Saunders,” David told her.

“You must know her,” Maggie said.

“What makes you say that?” David asked.

“She claims that you are the father of her fifteen year old son,” Maggie replied and disappeared into the kitchen.

David didn’t know what to say or how to react. He took a deep breath and decided to read the letter. As his eyes scanned the letter, he realized who Michelle was. He was stunned to say the least and he understood why Maggie had been staring at the letter when he walked in. David looked at the date on the letter and it was written a long time ago, so how did Maggie get her hands on it? He put the letter down and joined Maggie in the kitchen.

Chapter 81

“How did you get this letter?” David asked Maggie.

“Your son was here and he showed me the letter. He wanted to meet you,” Maggie replied without looking at David.

“Please don’t refer to him as my son,” David begged.

“But he is your son, David. He looks just like you,” Maggie turned to face him.

“That could be a coincidence,” David pointed out.

“It could but I don’t believe in coincidences,” Maggie firmly stated.

“I’m surprised of how well you are handling this. A fifteen year old boy knocks on the door and tells you that your husband is his father. Most women would be angry to hear such news,” David walked over to Maggie.

“What do you want me to say? That I’m angry? Fine! I’m angry and I’m hurt. My husband might be the biological father of a fifteen year old boy. Can you imagine how I feel, knowing that I’m the reason why we can’t have children of our own?” Maggie looked at him.

“We don’t know if he is my son and you don’t know if it’s your fault that we can’t have children,” David told her.

“If he is your son, then I am the problem,” Maggie said between sobs.

“It doesn’t have to be you. Maybe we’ve been trying too hard to become parents. I read an article a while ago about a couple who had been trying to get pregnant for years but nothing happened. They went to see their doctor because they wanted to know if something was wrong with them. The doctor told them that they were both fine but they should relax and not try so hard. Today they are the proud parents of twin girls,” David pulled her into his arms.

“You’re just saying that to make me feel better,” Maggie said.

“No, I’m not. I can show you the article if you don’t believe me,” David told her.

“You need to find out if Jason is your son,” Maggie looked up at him.

“I know. I’m ready to get tested and I hope that he is too,” David said.

“He is ready. He wants to know if you’re his father because apparently his mother is refusing to tell him anything. His number is on the coffee table,” Maggie explained.

“I will call him right now. What if he is my son? What will happen then?” David looked at her.

“We will welcome him with open arms. He seems like a really nice boy,” Maggie said.

“I love you,” David kissed her and disappeared into the living room.

---- A week later -----

The day had come for David and Jason to find out if they were father and son. Jason hadn’t slept at all and David had been awake several times during the night. They were yawning as they waited for the results.

“Are you nervous?” David asked Jason.

“Yes, I am. What about you?” Jason looked at him.

“I’m not nervous at all,” David replied.

“You’re kidding me, right?” Jason was a bit stunned.

“Of course I’m kidding. I’m terrified. Last year one of the other guys found out that he had a five year old daughter and now I’m here, waiting to find out if I have a fifteen year old son,” David answered.

Before Jason could say anything, the doctor emerged from his office and asked Jason and David to follow him. Both took deep breaths as they rose from their chairs and followed the doctor. He gestured for them to sit down as he walked to his desk and sat down.

“It’s the moment of truth,” David said, looking at Jason.

“It sure is,” Jason agreed, taking another deep breath.

“Is he my son, doctor?” David asked.

Without saying anything, the doctor opened the folder on the table and took out a piece of paper. Still without a word, he handed the document over to David. David took a deep breath before he looked at the paper. Jason looked at David but he was unable to read anything from the expression on David’s face.

“Could you please say something. Are you my dad?” Jason asked.

David just sat there, staring at the paper in his hand. His eyes scanned the document over and over and Jason was getting a bad feeling. Was David thinking of a way to tell him that they were not father and son or was he thinking of a way to tell him that they were father and son. The suspense was killing Jason so he repeated his question.

“Are you my dad?” Jason asked again.

----- Paris -----

“I can’t believe that you’re going home tomorrow,” Gaby sighed.

“I’m not,” Antonio said with a smile.

“”What?” Gaby was shocked.

“I’ve extended my stay in Paris because I want to spend some time with my girlfriend. If she wants me to stay of course,” Antonio informed her.

“Your girlfriend wants you to stay,” Gaby smiled at him.

“I’m pleased to hear that. It’s time for us to get ready for dinner with Sheena and Sébastien,” Antonio looked at his watch.

“Yes, we can’t be late for that,” Gaby agreed.

“I can’t believe that she gave up her job for you,” Antonio said.

“She didn’t give up her job for me. Yes, she did resign and she did recommend me for the job but Séb told me that she gave up her teaching job because having two jobs and raising a baby would be too much for her,” Gaby explained.

“Well, I still think it was a great thing to do,” Antonio said with a smile.

“I agree with you. Sheena is a great friend and not a lot of people would do what she did. I want to do something special for her,” Gaby told him.

“Maybe you could do a baby shower? I’m sure she would love that,” Antonio suggested.

“That’s a good idea,” Gaby smiled at him.

“I know. Do you want to go first?” Antonio pointed at the bathroom.

“No. I need to figure out what to wear,” Gaby replied.

Antonio turned and went into the bathroom. When he emerged fifteen minutes later, Gaby had found a dress to wear. She took a quick shower and forty minutes later they left the apartment.

Séb and Sheena were getting ready to leave the mansion. Amanda had just been picked up by one of her friends from school and she wouldn’t be back until Sunday afternoon. She would be spending the night at her friend’s house and then Camille would pick her up and take her back to her house until Sunday afternoon.

Sheena didn’t know that Amanda would be gone all weekend. It was something that Séb had arranged because he wanted to spend some private time with Sheena. He was concerned about her because she had been working long hours lately and she looked really tired when she came home from work. Séb wanted to pamper her and he had the whole weekend planned for the two of them.

Soon after they were on their way to dinner. Antonio and Gaby were standing outside the restaurant when Séb and Sheena arrived. After greeting each other, they walked into the restaurant and Gaby  gave her name to the hostess. She informed them that someone would be with them soon to show them to their table.

A young man arrived a few minutes later and he escorted them to their table. He briefly introduced himself and informed them that he would be their waiter for the evening. After his introduction, he informed them of the specials on the menu before he asked them what they wanted to drink. They ordered a bottle of wine and a coke for Sheena.

“Why did you invite us to dinner?” Sheena asked.

“I wanted to say thank you for recommending me for the job as art teacher. I will start on Monday,” Gaby replied with a big smile.

“You’re welcome and congratulations,” Sheena smiled at her.

“Thanks. I can’t wait to teach again,” Gaby said.

“I know you will do a great job and the students are very talented,” Sheena informed her.

“Won’t you miss it?” Gaby asked.

“Maybe a little but I think I will be too busy to think about it. I’ve got an exhibition to plan and I’ve been working a lot lately,” Sheena answered.

“You shouldn’t work so hard,” Antonio said.

“That’s what I’ve been telling her but she doesn’t listen,” Séb told him.

“I’m pregnant, not sick. The last time I was pregnant, I worked full time until a month before Amanda was born. I know you’re concerned about my health but I will be fine,” Sheena looked at Séb.

“I’ve learned not to argue with you but promise me that you will slow down once the exhibition is over,” Séb said.

“I promise to slow down as soon as the exhibition is over,” Sheena promised.

“Good,” Séb smiled at her.

The waiter returned with their drinks and after taking their orders, he walked away and they continued to talk.

“When are you going back to Spain?” Sheena asked Antonio.

“Next week. I decided to extend my vacation because I want to spend some more time with my lovely girlfriend,” Antonio kissed Gaby’s cheek.

“You two make the perfect couple,” Sheena said with a smile.

“So do you,” Gaby smiled back.

“I will drink to that,” Séb raised his glass.

They all raised their glasses and shortly after the waiter returned with their food. They enjoyed their dinner and they had a great time. It was past 10pm when they left the restaurant and said goodbye to each other.

----- Denver ----

“Did you get the result?” Maggie asked when David and Jason walked in.

“Yes, we did,” David replied.

“And do you want to share that information with me?” Maggie looked at them.

“Jason is my son,” David answered.

“I need to sit down for moment,” Maggie sat down on the couch.

“Listen, I don’t want to cause any problems between the two of you so I will just walk out of the door and you will never see me again,” Jason said.

“You don’t have to leave. You’re David’s son which means that you are a part of the family and you’re welcome to stay with us for as long as you want. We do have a guestroom and it is yours if you want it. What do you say?” Maggie looked at Jason.

“I accept your offer,” Jason said with a smile.

“Good. David can show you to the room and I will prepare some lunch for us as soon as I’ve changed Victoria’s diaper,” Maggie told him.

“Can I change her diaper?” Jason asked.

“Of course you can. Second door on the right,” Maggie answered.

“Thanks,” Jason said and walked to the nursery.

“Thank you,” David pulled Maggie close.

“Don’t thank me. He is your son and he is a nice boy. It doesn’t sound like his mom cares about him and he needs a family,” Maggie looked at David.

“You’re right but I still say thank you,” David kissed her.

David let go of Maggie and walked down the hall to the nursery. Jason came out of the nursery with Victoria in his arms and David showed him to the guestroom. They joined Maggie in the kitchen and they all enjoyed their lunch.

Chapter 82

----- A month later -----

The past month had been emotional for David, Maggie and Jason. A phone call to Australia had turned the Miller’s world upside down. It all started when Jason received the test result and decided to call his mom. Melissa had refused to tell him anything before he left for Denver but Jason hoped that once he had the proof in his hand, Melissa would answer all of his questions.

***** Flashback *****

“Hello,” Melissa answered the phone.

“Hi mom. It’s me. Are you ok? You sound a bit strange,” Jason was concerned.

“I’m fine. Why do you even care? You left me,” Melissa snapped.

“I care because you are my mom and I love you. And I didn’t leave you. I just wanted to meet my dad,” Jason said.

“Mike was your dad. He raised you and he was always there for you. Mike gave you everything and he loved you like you were his own son. You should be grateful for that,” Melissa raised her voice.

“I am grateful,” Jason told her.

“If you are grateful for what Mike did then why did you go to Denver?” Melissa wanted to know.

“I asked you about the letter but you refused to talk about it. Going to Denver was the only way for me to find out if David Miller was my dad,” Jason replied.

“Oh, so this is my fault? It is my fault that you left me?” Melissa asked.

“I didn’t leave you. I will be back in Australia before you know it,” Jason promised.

“Don’t bother coming back. You have betrayed me and you have betrayed Mike. I don’t want to see you again. You are no longer my son,” Melissa hung up.

Jason was staring at the phone in his hand and he was shocked. Maggie walked into the living room and she could tell that something wasn’t right. She walked over to Jason and she took the phone from him.

Maggie asked him what was wrong and Jason told her what Melissa had told him. Tears were running down Jason’s cheeks and Maggie could feel her own heart breaking. How could a mother tell her son that he wasn’t welcome? Maggie pulled Jason into her arms and told him that everything would be fine.

David walked into the living room and Maggie explained to him what had happened. David was furious and he instantly called Melissa. She told him the same thing that she had told Jason, adding that now that Jason had found his dad, he could take care of him. Melissa ended the conversation by saying that David would hear from her lawyer soon.

About a week later, David received a letter from Melissa’s lawyer in which Melissa gave full custody of Jason to David.

**** End of flashback ****

In the month that had passed, Rebecca had been working on the designs for the baby clothes and she had received a special request for a Christening gown. While Rebecca had been working, Carlos had been busy with the nursery. After a visit to the doctor, they had found out if they were expecting a boy or a girl and now that they knew, it was easier for them to decorate the nursery.

**** Flashback ****

“I can’t believe that today is the day. Do you think it’s a boy or a girl?” Rebecca asked Carlos.

“I think it’s a girl. A girl with your beautiful eyes and my charm. What do you think?” Carlos looked at her.

“I have no idea. I will be happy no matter what,” Rebecca told him.

“So will I but I still hope it’s a girl. Time to leave,” Carlos said.

Rebecca and Carlos put on their coats and left the apartment. They climbed into the car and drove off to see the doctor.

“Are you nervous?” Carlos asked as he stopped the car.

“No, I’m not nervous but I am excited,” Rebecca told him.

“So am I. Are you ready?” Carlos looked at her.

“Yes, I’m ready,” Rebecca answered with a smile.

They got out of the car and walked into the clinic where they were greeted by the secretary. She sent them a big smile and asked if they were excited. Both Carlos and Rebecca told her yes. The secretary asked them to take a seat and informed them that the doctor would be there shortly. Five minutes had passed when the doctor came out and called their names. The doctor greeted them and showed them into his office.

“How are you feeling?” the doctor asked Rebecca.

“I’m feeling good. No problems at all,” Rebecca replied.

“That’s good. Well, let’s find out if you’re expecting a boy or a girl. I assume you still want to know if it’s a boy or a girl?” the doctor looked at them.

“Yes, we do,” Carlos answered.

“Good. Well, you know what to do,” the doctor said to Rebecca.

Rebecca knew exactly what to do and it didn’t take long before everything was ready. Both Rebecca and Carlos stared at the screen and they were just waiting for the doctor to speak. After a while, the doctor turned to them.

“Are you sure that you want to know the answer?” he asked.

“Positive,” Rebecca replied with a smile.

“Good. Take a good look at the screen and I will tell you what I see,” the doctor said.

Ten minutes later, Carlos and Rebecca left the clinic and both of them were excited. They now knew if they were expecting a boy or a girl and they couldn’t wait to tell their families. As soon as they walked into their apartment, they made some phone calls to their families.

**** End of flashback ****

Sheena and Séb had spent the past month looking at color schemes and furniture for their baby. Yes, the baby wasn’t due for another five months but it couldn’t hurt to look and get ideas for a nursery. The two of them had finally agreed on colors and furniture for their little one. Since they didn’t know if the baby was a boy or a girl, they decided to use a color that would fit both. However, a visit to the doctor had changed everything.

**** Flashback ****

It was time for another check up and the Izambards were getting ready for the doctor’s appointment. Sheena was staring at herself in the mirror when Séb walked into the bedroom. She had been doing that every morning in the last few days and Séb was getting worried.

“What are you doing?” he asked.

“I look like a big, fat whale. Look at how big I am,” Sheena replied.

“You’re pregnant and I think you look beautiful,” Séb walked over to her.

“I’m four months pregnant and I’m bigger than I was at four months the last time,” Sheena said.

“Maybe this baby is just bigger. I’m sure that you’re fine. We are running late. Are you ready to leave?” Séb asked.

“I’m ready,” Sheena replied.

--- Twenty minutes later ----

Séb parked the car and they walked into the clinic where they were greeted by the secretary. She told them that the doctor would see them soon as she gestured for them to take a seat. Séb and Sheena did as she instructed and the doctor arrived five minutes later.

“How are you feeling today?” doctor Delon asked Sheena.

“I’m feeling fine but I seem to be a lot bigger than I was at four months when I was expecting Amanda,” Sheena answered.

“The human body is strange but I’m sure there is a good explanation. You know the procedure,” Dr. Delon said.

Sheena laid down and Dr. Delon got everything ready for the ultrasound. Once everything was ready, he began the ultrasound. He began to explain what he saw on the screen but suddenly he stopped. Séb asked him if everything was fine and Dr. Delon replied that he had found the reason why Sheena seemed to be bigger. He asked Séb and Sheena to take a closer look at the screen and he explained his findings to them.

Dr. Delon watched as the looks on their faces changed from shock to excitement. He congratulated them and asked Sheena to take care of herself until the next check up. Séb and Sheena thanked him and left the clinic. They walked to the car and drove back to the mansion. Amanda was spending the night at Camille’s place and Séb quickly made plans for a romantic night with dinner and dancing in front of the fireplace. It was his way of saying thank you for the precious gifts that she was carrying.

***** End of flashback *****

Urs and Miki had spent the past month planning Ellie Grace’s Christening. A Christening was a special event and they wanted everything to be perfect. Since they both believed that a Christening should be a private event for family and really close friends only, they had booked a small venue not far from the apartment. The only problem they had encountered was the Christening gown. They had found a lot of gowns but the gowns were not right for Ellie Grace. She was special and she needed a special gown.

***** Flashback *****

“What do you think about this one?” Miki pointed at a Christening gown.

“It’s a pretty gown but not for Ellie,” Urs voiced his opinion.

“I agree. I never thought that it would be so difficult to find a Christening gown,” Miki let out a sigh.

“We will find a gown,” Urs promised.

“I hope so. I just had an idea. Do you think Rebecca would be interested in designing a Christening gown for Ellie?” Miki looked at Urs.

“We could ask her,” Urs said and called Rebecca.

Urs explained the situation to Rebecca and Rebecca didn’t hesitate before she said yes. She had never designed a Christening gown before but she couldn’t say no to a challenge. Rebecca told him that she would draw up some sketches and bring them over the next day.

“What did she say?” Miki asked Urs.

“She said yes and she will bring over some sketches tomorrow,” Urs told Miki.

“That’s great. I’m sure she will come up with some great designs so now I can relax” Miki said.

The next day Rebecca brought over some sketches as agreed and it didn’t take long for Urs and Miki to choose a design for Ellie Grace. Rebecca told them that she would get started right away and she promised to have he dress ready for the Christening. She said goodbye and left.

“The designs were great,” Miki looked at Urs.

“Yes, they were. Rebecca is very talented,” Urs agreed.

“We are all very talented,” Miki pointed out.

“That’s true. You are all very talented,” Urs kissed her.

“And we are all beautiful,” Miki added.

“I can’t argue with that. We are four lucky men,” Urs smiled at her.

“Yes, you are,” Miki agreed.

“Is that all you have to say?” Urs asked.

“No. We are four lucky women. We have the best husbands in the world,” Miki replied

“Yes, but of the four of us, I’m the best husband,” Urs told her.

“I agree with you but I doubt the other girls will,” Miki laughed.

Urs laughed too and they spent the rest of the day going over the plan for the Christening.

Chapter 83

--- Los Angeles ----

The Christening of Ellie was only a day away and Urs was at the airport, waiting for the Millers and the Izambards to arrive. He checked the boards and saw that there was a fifteen minute delay on the flight from Denver. The Izambards would fly in on the private jet and Urs had received a text message from Séb with their expected time of arrival.

Suddenly he heard the words ‘uncle Urs’ and he looked up to see Amanda running towards him. Urs kneeled down and held out his arms. Amanda ran straight into his arms and gave him a big hug. She explained to Urs that she had been sitting in the cockpit with Victor and that she had been allowed to fly the jet.

Urs greeted Séb and Sheena and he explained to them that the Millers hadn’t arrived yet because the flight was delayed. Ten minutes later, the text on the board changed from delayed to landed and now they just had to wait for the Millers to walk through the door.

Another ten minutes passed before the Millers walked into the arrival hall. Amanda ran over to them and gave all of them a big hug. She held Jason’s hand as they walked over to the others. Hugs were exchanged and they all left the airport.

“New car?” David asked Urs.

"No. I had to borrow a car with enough seats for all of us. It belongs to Gary’s neighbor and I have to return it right after I drop you off at the hotel,” Urs explained.

“Hotel?” Maggie asked.

“Did we forget to tell you that? Well, we have made reservations for all of you in a hotel. It’s right next to the venue,” Urs replied.

“You didn’t have to do that. We could have stayed with mom and Gary,” Sheena told him.

“Yes, you could have done that but Miki wanted it this way. Even Rebecca and Carlos will be staying there. They will join us this afternoon,” Urs said.

The car pulled up in front of the hotel and they all got out of the car. Miki was waiting for them in the reception area and hugs were exchanged. Urs explained that he would be back as soon as he had returned the car to Gary’s neighbor. He left the hotel and Miki escorted the guests to the reception desk. Ten minutes later, the couples went to their suites to freshen up before they had to meet again for dinner.

“This is a great suite and Jason has got his own bedroom,” Maggie said.

“Good. Then we won’t hear him when he snores,” David joked.

“You snore more than me,” Jason looked at his dad.

“So you admit that you do snore,” David said.

“I never said that I didn’t snore. I said that you snore more than me,” Jason smiled.

“He is right. You do snore more than him,” Maggie told her husband.

“Who asked for your opinion?” David looked at his wife.

They all laughed and it caused Victoria to wake up. Jason instantly went over to the carrier and picked up his sister. He carried her into the bathroom and started to undress her. Then he removed her diaper and cleaned her up before he put a clean diaper on her. He asked Maggie to bring him some clothes and within ten minutes, Victoria was dressed and had a clean diaper.

When he returned to the living room, Maggie sent him a smile and Jason smiled back. She was proud of him and the way he took care of Victoria. Jason was a great brother and Maggie knew that he would never let anything happen to his sister.

“I have my own room,” Amanda was excited.

“Does that mean that your mom and I will get a good night’s sleep without you jumping into our bed?,” Séb winked at her.

“I don’t jump into your bed. If I did jump into your bed then you and mom would wake up,” Amanda told him.

“You’re right. We don’t wake up until your hands or feet are in our faces,” Séb laughed.

Amanda giggled as she lowered her head to hide that her face had turned red. She knew exactly what Séb was referring to. Sheena emerged from the bathroom and walked straight into the bedroom.

“Is mommy alright?” Amanda asked Séb.

“She is fine. I think she is just tired,” Séb answered.

“I’m tired too. May I take a nap?” Amanda let out a yawn.

“I think that is a good idea,” Séb said.

Amanda went into her bedroom as Séb grabbed the suitcases and walked into the master bedroom where he found Sheena by the window. She seemed to be miles away and Séb dropped the suitcases on the floor before he joined her by the window. He wrapped his arms around her waist and inhaled the scent of roses that clung to her hair.

“Where are you?” he asked.

“In Los Angeles,” she replied with a smile.

“That’s not what I meant,” he said.

“I know. I was just trying to be funny,” Sheena said.

“Are you ok?” he asked.

“I’m fine. It’s just strange being back in Los Angeles. I had forgotten what Los Angeles looks like,” Sheena turned to face him.

“That’s not what you’re thinking of,” Séb said.

“You know me too well. I’m thinking of my life and how much it has changed since May. Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like today if I hadn’t found out that Christopher wasn’t my real dad. I never would have met Pierre and I wouldn’t have been living in a mansion in Paris with the man I love and our daughter,” Sheena told him.

“You’re probably right about Pierre and the mansion in Paris but you’re wrong about not being married to me,” Séb smiled at her.

“What do you mean?” Sheena looked at him.

“It would have been against God’s plan if we didn’t end up being married. We love each other and we are meant to be together,” Séb told her.

“You seem very sure of that,” Sheena looked at him.

“I am sure. You’ve always loved me and I’ve always loved you,” Séb touched her face.

He cupped her face in his hands and moved his head closer. Sheena closed her eyes as Séb’s lips made contact with hers.

“What are you doing?” Carlos asked Rebecca.

“I’m trying to figure out what to wear tomorrow,” Rebecca replied.

“It’s a Christening. You’re not meeting the president,” Carlos teased her.

“I know that but I want to look good, not look like a big whale,” Rebecca pouted.

“You look beautiful no matter what you wear. Let me have a look,” Carlos walked to the closet.

Rebecca watched as Carlos looked at the dresses in the closet. Suddenly he pulled out a dress and showed it to her.

“I like this one,” Carlos said.

“Then that is the dress that I will wear. Thank you,” Rebecca smiled at Carlos.

“You’re welcome,” Carlos smiled back and left.

Rebecca finished packing and joined Carlos in the living room. Carlos already had his coat on and he told Rebecca that he would meet her by the car. He grabbed the bags and left the apartment. Rebecca quickly put on her coat and grabbed her keys. She locked the door and joined Carlos downstairs.

“Have you decided on a design for our daughter’s Christening gown?” Carlos asked Rebecca.

“Not yet. I will have plenty of time for that. She won’t be here until May,” Rebecca answered.

“I know but maybe you had some kind of idea,” Carlos said.

“I’ve got a lot of ideas but I won’t make a decision yet. Besides, she is your daughter too and I want you to have a say in the matter,” Rebecca told him.

“I’m glad you feel that way. A friend of mine didn’t know what kind of Christening gown his daughter would be wearing. He found out on the day of the Christening,” Carlos explained.

“He didn’t know? That’s cruel,” Rebecca was shocked.

“I agree. They split up two months later. He came home one evening and found his four months old daughter alone in the apartment. His girlfriend had left a note saying that she had gone out with her friends because she was tired of being stuck in an apartment with a screaming baby. He got custody of his daughter and moved to London shortly after where he met a woman. They got married in 1995 and he is now the proud daddy of three children,” Carlos said.

“I don’t know him but I’m happy for him,” Rebecca said.

The Marins had arrived at their destination and Carlos stopped the car. He got out and quickly walked over to the passenger side and opened the door. Rebecca got out of the car while Carlos grabbed the bags from the trunk. They walked into the hotel and gave their names to the lady at the reception. She gave them the key card and wished them a pleasant stay. Carlos and Rebecca thanked her and went to their suite.

Once they were in their suite, Carlos sent a text message to Urs, informing him that they had arrived at the hotel. Urs wrote back that the others had arrived too and that they would all meet for dinner in the hotel restaurant two hours later.

The Divo couples met in the restaurant two hours later and after exchanging hugs and kisses, they sat down and waited for the waiter to arrive. Once they had placed their orders, they talked about what had happened since their last meeting.

“Carlos and I have been busy preparing the nursery for the arrival of our baby girl,” Rebecca beamed.

“Another Diva to bless our Divo clan. Looks like I’m the only one who knows how to make boys,” David said.

“Aren’t you forgetting something? Sheena is pregnant too and she could be expecting a boy,” Maggie looked at David.

“Actually she could be expecting two of them,” Séb added.

“Two? As in twins?” David asked.

“Yes, David. And your words were exactly what Séb said when the doctor told us that we had to buy two of each baby item for the nursery,” Sheena replied.

“Well, I was shocked. Any man would be shocked to find out that his wife is expecting twins. Any man who claims that he would not be shocked is lying,” Séb defended himself.

“Three new Divo babies. Looks like we will need a lot of nannies when we go on tour next year,” Urs added.

“I volunteer as a nanny. I’m great with kids,” Jason said.

“He really is,” Maggie agreed with Jason.

“Now we just need two more,” Urs said.

Everyone agreed that more nannies were needed but they had plenty of time to talk about that part. They talked and laughed during dinner and it was about 10pm when they all returned to their suites.

Chapter 84

The day of the Christening had finally arrived and of course Urs and Miki were excited. After enjoying a nice breakfast in the hotel restaurant with the other Divo couples, they had returned to their suite to get ready for the big day.

Half an hour later, the couple arrived at the church and they were shown into a room where they could put their things and get Ellie ready for the christening. Once Ellie was in her christening gown, Urs and Miki left the room to take a closer look at the decorations and make sure that everything was perfect.

As they were checking the decorations, they heard familiar voices and shortly after, Dara and Nico walked though the door, followed by Constantin and Eliane. Urs smiled at his parents and in laws as they walked toward them. Hugs and kisses were exchanged and Dara looked at her granddaughter.

“She looks so adorable and the gown is beautiful,” Dara whispered and kissed Ellie’s forehead.

“Rebecca did a great job on the gown,” Miki agreed.

“She sure did. Are they here yet?” Eliane asked her daughter.

“Not yet. You’re early as always,” Urs replied with a smile.

Nico and Constantin smiled back at Urs without saying anything. No words were needed because they both knew what Urs was referring to. The Divo couples arrived ten minutes later. Once everyone had arrived, it was time to start the Christening. Ellie made a few noises when the water hit her head but other than that, she didn’t make a sound.

After the Christening of Ellie Grace, Miki and Urs asked their guests to stay for a photo session with a professional photographer. Only the closest friends and family attended the Christening but it still took some time to get all of the pictures. Once the photo session was over, the guests left the church and went to the venue. Urs and Miki had to pick up their things first and they left the church five minutes later.

When Urs and Miki arrived at the venue, all of the their guests were standing outside. Urs and Miki went into the venue, followed by their guests. When everyone had removed their coats, they all went into the room where the party was to be held. Shortly after, drinks were served and once everyone had gotten a drink, Urs cleared his throat.

“Before we start the celebration, I would like to thank all of you for coming today to the christening of our beautiful daughter Ellie Grace. Some of you have traveled far to be here and it means a lot to us. With our closest friends and our families here, this day will be a day that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Let’s make this an unforgettable day,” Urs raised his glass.

Everyone raised their glasses and joined him in a toast. A waiter announced that the food was ready and the guests found their seats at the table. The table was covered by a white tablecloth and pink napkins. The chairs were also covered in white with pink bows and small centerpieces of white and pink roses were the table decor, along with tiny pacifiers and tiny teddybears.

The waiter introduced the menu as the other waiters walked in with the trays. After the introduction, the waiters served the starters and left, closing the door behind them. Once everyone had finished with the starters, the waiters returned to remove the plates.

Urs looked at Miki and then turned his attention to the guests. Everyone seemed to be having a really good time and despite the noise, Ellie Grace and Victoria were sleeping peacefully in a corner. It was a perfect day so far.

The waiters still hadn’t served the main course, so David looked at Séb and Séb nodded his head in agreement before he stood and cleared his throat. Everyone turned their attention to Séb.

“Dear Miki, Urs and of course Ellie Grace. On behalf of everyone here, I would like to say thank you for inviting us to the Christening of your beautiful baby girl. We all know that she is your pride and joy and we all know that there is nothing you won’t do for your little girl.

At times like these, you can’t help but think about this little person that we’ve all just witnessed being christened and wonder what sort of life she will have. We all know that she will have a great life because she has got some wonderful parents but what kind of person will she become? Will she be a scientist or an athlete? Will she be a singer like her dad, or an actress? Maybe she will become a lawyer or a dentist. Nobody knows. Right now there is not a single one of us here today who has the slightest clue as to what Ellie Grace is going to do with her life, or what she will achieve.

She is a blank canvas - a clean slate - and we all get to watch her write whatever she wants to on it. The most important thing is that she is happy and perhaps that is where we all come in. We may not be able to help her decide what career to follow and we certainly can’t write the story of her life for her, but each one of us can play our part in making sure that she is loved, cared for and above else, happy. Ladies and gentlemen, please raise your glasses to Ellie Grace and join me in wishing her a happy, healthy childhood and a happy, healthy life!” Séb said.

Everyone stood and joined him in a toast. After the toast, the waiters walked in with the main course and people sat down.

“When is the baby due?” Eliane asked Sheena.

“The babies are due in July and it was a shock when the doctor told us that we were expecting twins but we can’t wait to meet them,” Sheena beamed.

“So you will be busy,” Eliane said.

“More than busy I think,” Séb added.

“You might be right. What about you two?” Eliane looked at Rebecca and Carlos.

“Our baby girl is due in May. We are excited, just like Sheena and Séb are excited about meeting their twins. Of course Sheena has an advantage. She has done it before,” Rebecca replied, looking at her friend.

“I have done it before but this time there will be two of them,” Sheena reminded her.

“Yes, but I will be there to help you. I will be there every step of the way,” Séb kissed Sheena’s cheek.

“I know,” Sheena smiled at him.

They finished the main course and the waiters arrived to take away the plates. About ten minutes later, the dessert was brought in. After everyone had finished their dessert, Urs informed the guests that the party would continue in the hotel. The guests left the venue and walked back to the hotel where they were shown into a room. Everyone found a seat and shortly after, a cake was brought in.

“You did a great job, mom. The cake is perfect,” Miki looked at Eliane.

“I’m pleased to hear you say that,” Eliane said.

“Do you take orders?” Rebecca asked.

“Normally I don’t but I would be honored to make a cake for your baby girl,” Eliane answered.

“Thank you,” Rebecca said with a smile.

“I would like to place an order too if possible but we don’t know if our babies will be boys or girls,” Sheena added.

“You can contact me when you do find out and I will make a cake for your babies,” Eliane said.

“Great. Thanks,” Sheena said.

“You’re welcome my dears,” Eliane smiled back.

Three hours later, the party came to an end and the guests retired to their suites. Amanda wanted to spend time with Jason and she went with David and Maggie to their suite. Rebecca and Carlos just wanted to relax and so did Sheena and Séb.

“Are you tired?” Urs asked Miki.

“I’m exhausted. It has been a long but also a fantastic day,” Miki replied.

“I agree with you. I suggest we rest a bit before our daughter wakes up again,” Urs looked at Miki.

“That sounds like a good idea,” Miki agreed.

They went into the bedroom and fell asleep the second their heads hit the pillows.

Chapter 85

--- Paris - May 2008 ---

Sheena was standing by the window, staring at the moon reflecting in the lake below the window. It was almost 3am but Sheena couldn’t sleep. Well, actually it was the twins who wouldn’t let her sleep. It felt like the two boys were using her womb as a soccer field and that there was a game going on. She turned around and looked at Séb who was finally sleeping. He too had been having problems sleeping lately. Mostly because he was worried about Sheena and the twins.

She had stopped working on Séb’s request but it hadn’t been easy for her to stop working. Sheena knew that her employees would do a great job without her but it was still difficult for her to just stay at home. But after she passed out in the office, Sheena realized that her health and the health of the twins were more important than work.

The nursery was ready for the arrival of the two boys and July would be there before they knew it. It was now May and Rebecca could give birth any day now. Sheena went downstairs to make herself a cup of tea and just as she had put the kettle on, her phone started ringing. She looked at the caller ID and a smile appeared on her face as she answered it.

“Hello Carlos,” Sheena said.

“Hi Sheena. Did I wake you?” Carlos asked.

“No, you didn’t. I can’t sleep because the twins are playing soccer,” Sheena replied.

“A good game?” Carlos joked.

“An intense and long game,” Sheena laughed.

“I called to tell you that I’m a dad. Becca gave birth to Liana half an hour ago,” Carlos proudly said.

“Congratulations to both of you. How are they doing?” Sheena asked.

“They are both doing fine. Liana has her mom’s green eyes and long, dark hair. I will send a picture later,” Carlos answered.

“Great. Now go back to your wife and baby girl and give Becca a hug from me,” Sheena told him.

“I will. Talk to you later. Bye,” Carlos hung up.

Sheena placed the phone on the table and made the tea. She walked over to the door and looked out into the night. Suddenly she heard a voice behind her.

“Can’t sleep?” Séb walked over to her.

“It’s not me who can’t sleep. Your sons won’t let me sleep. Hopefully the soccer game is over soon,” Sheena turned to face him.

“Do you want me to blow the whistle?” Séb asked.

“It couldn’t hurt to try,” Sheena looked at him.

Séb got down on his knees and whistled in front of Sheena’s belly. He looked at Sheena who nodded her head yes. The twins had stopped kicking, at least for now and Sheena let out a sigh of relief. Séb stood and smiled at her.

“I thought you were joking,” Sheena said.

“I was but it worked,” Séb looked at her.

“Yes and I think we should go to bed before they start kicking again,” Sheena agreed.

“As you wish. Who was on the phone?” Séb wanted to know as they walked upstairs.

“That was Carlos. He and Becca are now the proud parents of a baby girl with green eyes and long, dark hair,” Sheena told him.

“That’s good news. I’m happy for them,” Séb said.

“He will send us a picture later,” Sheena explained as she climbed into bed.

“Great. I can’t wait to see her,” Séb joined Sheena.

“Only two more months and we will be the proud parents of twin boys. And they will be handsome like their dad,” Sheena said.

“And talented like their mom,” Séb added.

“Exactly,” Sheena agreed.

The twins seemed to have calmed down completely and it didn’t take long for Séb and Sheena to fall asleep.

----- Los Angeles -----

Rebecca was sleeping and Carlos was sitting in a chair, holding his daughter. He stared at her and he couldn’t believe that he and Rebecca had created the miracle in his arms. Now he understood how his brothers felt when they held their daughters for the first time.

Carlos couldn’t stop himself from singing to his daughter but he kept his voice down because he didn’t want to wake up Rebecca. Liana let out a yawn and closed her eyes but Carlos just kept on singing. When he stopped singing, Liana was sleeping peacefully in his arms and he gently placed her in the crib. He placed a soft kiss on Liana’s forehead and left the room.

He called the other Divos to tell them about Liana and he was really excited when he called the Millers to tell them the good news.

“Hi Carlos. What’s up?” David asked.

“I’ve got great news. I’m a dad. Rebecca gave birth to a beautiful baby girl with green eyes and long, dark hair,” Carlos replied-

“That is great news indeed. Congratulations to both of you and welcome to our group of proud Divo dads,” David said.

“Thanks. I will send you a picture later today so you can see our daughter,” Carlos told him.

“We can’t wait to see her,” David said.

“I have to call Urs before I go back to my wife and daughter. I will talk to you later,” Carlos hung up and dialed Urs’ number.

“When did it happen?” Urs asked when he answered the phone.

“About an hour ago. Rebecca and the baby are doing fine and they are both sleeping,” Carlos replied.

“Congratulations. The last Divo is now a dad,” Urs said.

“Yes and it feels great to be a dad. Now I know how you and David felt when you held your baby girls for the first time,” Carlos said.

“It’s a special feeling. I’m glad that Séb will get to know how it feels too. I know they are expecting boys but the feeling will be the same,” Urs told him.

“It sure will be. Well, I should get back to my wife and daughter but I will send you a picture of our little baby girl later,” Carlos said and hung up.

He walked back to the room and found Rebecca awake. She was sitting in the bed, holding Liana in her arms. Carlos instantly took a picture with his phone and he was about to send the picture when Rebecca stopped him.

“You are not sending that picture to our friends. I look like a mess,” Rebecca told him.

“No, you don’t. You look beautiful,” Carlos walked over to her.

“You’re my husband. You have to say that to me,” Rebecca looked at him.

“True but I mean it. If you want to freshen up before I take a picture then I will let you do that,” Carlos kissed her.

Rebecca placed Liana in Carlos’ arms and went to the bathroom to freshen up. She returned fifteen minutes later and once she was back in the bed, Carlos placed Liana in her arms before he took a new picture. He sent the picture to their families and of course to the Divos as well.

“Is that the picture from Carlos?” Maggie asked David.

“Yes it is. He wasn’t lying when he told me about the long, dark hair,” David showed her the picture.

“She is just so adorable,” Maggie said.

“All babies are adorable,” David added.

“Not all babies. Remember the baby we saw last week?” Maggie looked at David.

“How could I not remember? I will never get that image out of my head,” David said.

“I know.,” Maggie laughed.

“But our daughter is still the most adorable girl in the world,” David told Maggie.

“Not sure the other Divos will agree with you on that,” Maggie looked at him.

“I know but I still say that Victoria is the most adorable girl in the whole world,” David repeated.

“And I agree with you,” Maggie smiled at him.

“Speaking of Victoria. I think she is awake,” David said.

“I will get her,” Jason’s voice came from the hallway.

Shortly after he walked into the living room with his sister and sat down on the couch.

“Is that Liana?” Miki asked Urs.

“No. Someone just send me a picture of a stranger’s baby,” Urs teased her.

“Very funny. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baby with hair like that. She has got more hair than Carlos,” Miki said.

“I think you’re right about that,” Urs agreed.

“She is beautiful,” Miki looked at the picture.

“Indeed she is. We all have beautiful children,” Urs said.

“Yes, we do. I want one more,” Miki told him.

“So do I but I suggest we wait until Ellie Grace is at least two years old,” Urs looked at Miki.

“Agreed,” Miki smiled at him.

Urs and Miki walked into the nursery to check on Ellie Grace.

Chapter 86

Carlos was on his way to the hospital to pick up his wife and his daughter. Liana was doing well and Rebecca was looking forward to going home. Not that she didn’t like being pampered by the nurses but she just wanted to go home and be with Carlos and Liana.

As Carlos walked to Rebecca’s room, he wondered how she would react to his surprise. He had contacted their families and closest friends to inform them that he was planning a welcome home party. They were all waiting for them at the apartment.

“How are my two girls doing?” Carlos asked as he entered the room.

“We’re doing just fine but we both want to go home,” Rebecca replied.

“Let’s go then,” Carlos picked up Rebecca’s bag.

Ten minutes later, they were on their way home.

At the apartment, everybody was busy decorating. Sheena had made a banner and she was giving David and Séb instructions on where to put the banner. They did their best but Sheena wasn’t satisfied. Both men felt that she was a bit bossy.

“I feel sorry for you,” David looked at Séb

“Why?” Séb asked him.

“Because you are married to her,” David pointed at Sheena.

“I heard that Miller,” Sheena looked at him.

“What? I didn’t say anything,” David said.

“Yes, you did,” Sheena looked at him.

“Alright. I did say something but it was said out of love,” David flashed his smile.

“Right,” Sheena said.

“You know I love you,” David kissed her cheek.

“Yes, I know,” Sheena smiled at him.

“Do I need to be jealous?” Séb walked over to Sheena.

“Do you even have ask that question?” Sheena looked at him.

“No, I don’t. I know you love me just as much as I love you,” Séb kissed her softly.

“They are here,” Maggie announced.

Everyone gathered under the banner and waited for Carlos, Rebecca and Liana to enter. The door opened shortly after and the family stepped into the apartment. Carlos put down the bag and escorted his wife into the living room. Rebecca was speechless when she saw their closest friends and families there.

“Oh my God. What are you doing here?” Rebecca was finally able to speak.

“Your husband invited us and of course we said yes. We would never miss a party,” David said.

“It’s so good to see all of you,” Rebecca said.

“Drinks and food are on the table. Dig in,” Maggie said.

“You are the best husband,” Rebecca looked at Carlos.

“I know,” Carlos kissed her.

“How much longer for you?” Consuela, Carlos’ mom, asked Sheena.

“About two months but hopefully the boys decide to make their appearances soon. They are really having a party,” Sheena replied with a smile.

“May I?” Consuela reached out her hand.

“Of course,” Sheena answered.

Consuela placed her hand on Sheena’s stomach and she instantly knew what Sheena was talking about. It did feel like the boys were having a party. Séb joined them and Consuela turned her attention to him.

“You must be excited,” Consuela looked at him.

“Oh, I am. I can’t wait to meet our boys,” Séb said.

“I know it’s a bit early but have you thought of names yet?” Consuela asked.

“Yes, we have. We will name them after Sheena’s two dads, Christopher and Pierre,” Séb replied.

“That’s a beautiful gesture,” Consuela said.

“We owe them so much,” Séb told her, looking at Sheena.

“We sure do,” Sheena agreed.

While Consuela was talking to Sheena and Séb, Jose was talking to Carlos and Rebecca. He was holding his granddaughter and you could tell by the look on his face that he was proud. It was his first grandchild and of course that made it even more special.

“When are you going to make this one a big sister?” Jose asked them.

“Relax dad. Liana is only a week old. It’s a bit too early to talk about having another baby,” Carlos told him.

“You might be right about that but you will make her a big sister, right?” Jose looked at them.

“Yes, we will. In a few years,” Rebecca replied.

“Good. Now I will show off my granddaughter,” Jose said and walked away.

Carlos and Rebecca looked at each other and smiled.

“You seem to be enjoying your role as big brother,” Marianna, Rebecca’s mom, said to Jason.

“I do enjoy it. I love being a big brother,” Jason said, holding Victoria in his arms.

“And Victoria is not the only one who is enjoying having Jason around. Amanda loves to have him around too. He is like a big brother to her too,” David added.

“I can see that. It looks like you have found your babysitter for the tour,” Marianna told David and Maggie

“I don’t think one babysitter will be enough. It will be a total of six children and I don’t think Jason will be able to take care of all of them on his own,” Maggie explained.

“You do have a point. Well, I’m sure you will find someone who can help Jason. A lot of people would love to babysit Divo children,” Marianna said.

“We know but we have to be careful when we choose a babysitter. As you said, a lot of people would love to babysit but we have to make sure that it is the right person and not some crazy person,” Miki added.

“You’re right about that,” Marianna agreed.

“Well, enough about babysitters and tour. Let’s join in a toast for Carlos, Rebecca and Liana,” Urs suggested.

Everyone raised their glasses and joined Urs in a toast.

It was time for Rebecca and Carlos to open the presents that people had brought for Liana. It was mostly clothes and toys but a baby can never get enough of those things. After opening all of the presents, it was time for Liana, Victoria and Ellie Grace to take a nap.

“I just had an idea,” Rebecca told her friends.

“Do tell,” David said.

“Why don’t we get a family photo of our Divo family,” Rebecca looked at her friends.

“I love the idea and maybe the picture will make a great painting,” Sheena said.

The welcome home party lasted until late afternoon and everyone had been having a good time.

Chapter 87

July had arrived and the time of arrival for the Izambard twins was getting closer. Only a few more weeks and the Izambard family would be complete. Since she had passed out in her office, the doctor insisted on coming to the Dubois mansion twice a week to check up on Sheena. Everything looked fine and the twins were doing really well.

It was around 8pm at the Dubois mansion on a Thursday evening. Sheena and Amanda were watching a movie in the living room and Séb was in his studio, working on some new songs. The movie had just ended when Séb walked into the living room. He was on the phone and he didn’t look like it was a pleasant conversation.

“No! I’m not going. I don’t want to miss out on the birth of my twins. No way, Simon! I don’t care who invited us,” Séb raised his voice.

Sheena knew that the conversation could turn into a huge discussion and she didn’t want Amanda to listen to that so she told Amanda to take Divo for a walk. Amanda left with Divo and Sheena leaned back on the couch and put up her feet. Her arms were resting on her belly and she listened to the conversation between Séb and Simon.

“Listen to me! I’m only saying this one more time. I won’t go to London and that is the end of it. Goodbye,” Séb hung up.

“What was that about?” Sheena wanted to know.

“Il Divo has been invited to sing at a welcome home party in London but I’m not going. The twins are due any day now and as I told Simon, I don’t want to miss out on the birth,” Séb told her.

“The twins are not due for another two weeks and you will be gone maybe two days. You will be back in time for the birth,” Sheena said.

“And what if the twins decide to arrive early?” he asked.

“They won’t. I’ve done this before and I think I know my body better than you do,” Sheena said.

“I doubt that. I know every part of your body really well,” Séb winked at her.

“Be serious,” Sheena looked at him.

“You’re saying that I should go?” he looked at her.

“Yes, that is what I’m saying. You have to go. I will be fine,” Sheena answered.

“I don’t know,” Séb walked over to the window.

“I can’t tell you what to do but I think you should go,” Sheena walked over to him.

“Fine. I will go but on one condition,” he turned to look at her.

“Anything,” Sheena said.

“I want my mom to stay here with you while I’m gone,” Séb told her.

“If that is what is takes to make you go to London and do what you love, then I agree,”  Sheena smiled at him.

“I love you,” Séb pulled her close and kissed her.

“I love you too,” Sheena said when they broke the kiss.

“I should probably call Simon and tell him that I’m going,” Séb said.

“Good idea,” Sheena agreed.

Séb picked up his phone and called Simon. The two men talked for a few minutes and then hung up.

---- Los Angeles ----

“Who was on the phone?” Miki asked Urs.

“That was Simon. It looks like we will be performing in London,” Urs said to Miki.

“I never thought that Sébastien would agree,” Miki looked at Urs.

“Actually he didn’t agree but he has got a very convincing wife. We have Sheena to thank for this,” Urs smiled at Miki.

“I will be sure to thank her the next time I see her. When will you be going?” Miki asked.

“Tomorrow morning. I guess I should start packing,” Urs replied.

“Can we come? I love London and it will give me a chance to visit an old friend of mine who is living there,” Miki asked.

“Are you sure that you want to travel to London with Ellie?” Urs asked her.

“Yes, I’m sure but it sounds to me like you don’t want us to come. Well, if that is the way you feel then we won’t go. Have a nice trip,” Miki said and walked out.

It was never Urs’ intention to make it sound like he didn’t want them there. Of course he wanted his wife and daughter to be there with him but he just thought that it would be too stressful for Miki and Ellie to travel that far. He went to the nursery and found Miki sitting in a chair, rocking Ellie in her arms.

“I’m sorry for what I said. I didn’t mean it like that but I was just worried about you and her. It’s a long flight,” Urs walked over to Miki.

“I know it is but we have done it before. Lots of times. And once you go on tour again, we will travel a lot,” Miki told him.

“You’re right. Can you forgive me?” Urs looked at her.

“I’m not sure,” Miki said.

“If you decide to forgive me then I will be in the bedroom, packing for the trip to London,” Urs said and left the nursery.

Ellie had fallen asleep and Miki gently put her down for a nap. Once Ellie was comfortable in bed, Miki joined Urs in the bedroom. She had some packing to do too.

---- Denver ----

“A private performance? That sounds fantastic,” Maggie said to David.

“It sure does and I can’t wait to perform again. I just hate leaving you alone with Victoria,” David said to her.

“I’m not alone. Jason will be here with me,” Maggie told him.

“True but I still don’t feel good about leaving,” David looked at her.

“You worry too much. We will be fine but we will miss you of course. I know you will have a great time in London,” Maggie smiled at him.

“I have an idea. We will leave Victoria in Jason’s hands and then you and I go to London. What do you say?” David asked.

“Have you lost your mind? I know that Jason is old enough to stay at home and take care of his sister but do you really think that we should ask him to do it?” Maggie looked at her husband.

“Ask me to do what?” Jason walked in.

“Your dad just had a crazy idea,” Maggie said.

“Let me hear it,” Jason said.

“I was just telling your mom that we should go to London together and leave Victoria here with you but she doesn’t think it’s a good idea,” David explained.

“Don’t you trust me?” Jason asked Maggie.

“Of course I do but you’re young and you should spend time with your friends. Not take care of your sister because your dad has an idea,” Maggie replied.

“I love babysitting and I would rather spend time with Victoria than my friends. I can do it. Please let me do it,” Jason begged.

“I guess there is no point in arguing with you two. Alright. I will join your dad and you will take care of Victoria,” Maggie agreed.

“Great. And don’t worry. I will call grandma if there is a problem,” Jason promised.

“No parties or anything,” David told him.

“I thought you knew me better than that, dad. You know how I feel about parties,” Jason said.

“Yes, I know. Now let’s start packing for our trip,” David said to Maggie.

As soon as David and Maggie left the room, Jason jumped up and down. He couldn’t wait to show his parents that he was more than capable of taking care of his sister. Jason truly hoped that they would allow him to go on tour with Il Divo.

---- Los Angeles ----

Carlos hung up the phone after talking to Simon. Rebecca was thrilled when Carlos told her that they were going to London. She knew it would be a long trip with a baby but she knew that they could do it.

“What are you thinking of?” Carlos asked Rebecca.

“I was just thinking of Sheena. It’s a shame that she can’t come to London with us,” she replied.

“It really is and I feel sorry for her,” Carlos said.

“Why?” Rebecca looked at him.

“Well......Séb didn’t want to go but Sheena managed to convince him to go,” Carlos said.

“That’s good but what does that have to do with you feeling sorry for her?” Rebecca was confused.

"She has to spend time with Camille. If Sheena hadn’t agreed to let Camille stay with her at the mansion, then Séb wouldn’t have agreed to go,” Carlos explained.

“Camille is not that bad,” Rebecca said.

“I know but I can just imagine what it will be like for Sheena. Camille won’t allow Sheena to do anything without her being present,” Carlos said.

“You’re making her worse than she really is,” Rebecca told him.

“Am I? Remember when we were in Paris, performing for Sheena’s dad? Camille wanted Séb to get custody of Amanda,” Carlos reminded Rebecca.

“True but she did realize that she was wrong. And both Camille and Sheena have moved on from that. Camille loves Sheena,” Rebecca said.

“Why are we even talking about this?” Carlos asked.

“I have no idea,” Rebecca answered.

“We should start packing,” Carlos said.

Rebecca nodded in agreement and the two of them went into the bedroom to pack for the trip to London.

Chapter 88

***** London ****

“Are you still here, Séb?” Urs asked his friend.

“What?” Séb looked at Urs.

“Are you still here? You look like you’re miles away,” Urs repeated his question.

“I’m sorry. I know that I should be focusing on the performance tonight but all I can think about is Sheena and the twins,” Séb replied.

“Sheena will be just fine. Your mom is there with her and the twins are not due yet. Just relax and everything will be fine,” Urs padded Séb on the shoulder.

“You’re right. Let’s go downstairs and meet the others,” Séb agreed.

Séb and Urs walked down the huge staircase of the mansion in which they were staying. The mansion belonged to a wealthy business man who had planned a welcome home  party for his daughter who had been in Germany for two years. And since the daughter was a huge Il Divo fan, her dad had booked Il Divo for one night.

Urs and Séb met up with Carlos and David and the four of them went to the garden for the soundcheck. In the middle of the garden was a large tent with room for 100 people. The stage was placed in one end of the tent and in the other end was a bar. Balloons covered the ceiling and each table was decorated with white table cloths, pink napkins, white and pink flowers and above the stage was a sign which said ‘Welcome home Patricia’.

“What’s wrong with you?” David asked Séb.

“I just have this feeling. A feeling that I will miss out on the birth of my twins,” Séb told his friend.

“The twins are not even due yet. Don’t worry about it,” David said.

“That’s what I told him,” Urs said.

“I know you’re right but I’m still worried,” Séb sighed.

“We are ready for you,” a young man said.

“Let’s do this,” Carlos looked at his friends.

While the Divos were busy with the sound check, the girls were doing some shopping in London. After shopping, they decided to get something to eat.

“This is fun but someone is missing,” Miki looked at her friends.

“It sure is fun but you’re right. Sheena is missing,” Maggie said.

“I agree with you. She should be here. Just imagine what it is like for Séb. His wife is in Paris and we are here in London with our men. Must be difficult for him,” Rebecca added.

“We should call her when we get back to the mansion,” Miki suggested.

“Great idea. Let’s eat and then we can go back,” Rebecca said.

**** Paris ****

Sheena was in her studio, finishing a painting. She had to get away from Camille who was driving her crazy. Camille was watching Sheena all the time. The only time she wasn’t being watched was when she is in the bathroom. Sheena had just finished the painting when her phone rang. She smiled when she saw the caller ID.

“Hello handsome,” Sheena said, answering the phone.

“Hello beautiful. How are you?” Séb asked.

“I’m fine but your mom is driving me crazy,” Sheena replied, letting out a sigh.

“Really? She has only been there for twelve hours,” Séb was surprised.

“She won’t let me do anything. This morning I wanted to feed Divo and she wouldn’t let me do that. She wouldn’t even let me get a glass of water,” Sheena explained.

“My mom is just worried. She doesn’t want anything to happen to you. And I don’t want that either. Patience my dear,” Séb said.

“Patience? You know I lack patience,” Sheena reminded him.

“Yes, I know you do and I love that about you,” Séb said.

“Are you having a good time?” Sheena asked.

“Not really. I miss you and Amanda,” Séb admitted.

“We miss you too but you will be home tomorrow night,” Sheena said.

“I know. I’ve promised the guys that I won’t complain or pout and I’m going to keep that promise. It’s almost time for us to get ready for the concert but I will see you tomorrow. I love you,” Séb said.

“I love you too. Say hi to the guys and the girls,” Sheena said.

“I will do that. See you tomorrow,” Séb said and hung up.

Sheena had just put down the phone when it rang again. This time the caller ID said Miki and a smile appeared on Sheena’s face.

“Hi Miki,” Sheena said.

“Hi Sheena. You’re on speaker. The girls are here too,” Miki said.

“Hi girls. How are you doing? Having a good time without me?” Sheena asked.

“It’s not the same without you. We miss you,” Rebecca replied.

“I miss you too and I really wish that I could be there with you. Sadly my doctor didn’t want me to travel, so I’m stuck here with Camille,” Sheena sighed.

“I assume it isn’t going well,” Maggie said.

“Camille is sweet but she is too sweet. This morning I wanted to get a glass of water and she wouldn’t let me. The only time she isn’t watching me is when I’m in the bathroom. I know that she just wants me to be safe but it’s a little too much,” Sheena explained.

“You just have to survive another twenty-four hours and then your husband will be home,” Rebecca said.

“I know,” Sheena said.

“We have to leave now sweetie but we will call you tomorrow before we leave. Say hi to Camille and Amanda,” Miki said.

“I will. Take care girls,” Sheena said.

The girls hung up and Sheena left the studio. Camille was sleeping on the couch when Sheena entered the living room and Sheena walked into the kitchen to get something to drink. When she returned to the living room, Camille was awake and waiting for her.

“I’m still alive,” Sheena said with a smile.

“Point taken. I’m sorry for being a pain but I just want you to be safe. You’re carrying my grandsons and I don’t want anything to happen to you or them,” Camille said.

“I know you don’t and I’m really glad you’re here. Especially now that Amanda is out of the house,” Sheena admitted.

“How are you feeling?” Camille asked.

“I’m tired,” Sheena replied.

“Why don’t you get some sleep? I will call you when dinner is ready,” Camille smiled at her.

“Sounds like a good idea. Thanks,” Sheena smiled back.

Sheena grabbed the water from the table and walked upstairs to the bedroom. She fell asleep the second her head hit the pillow.

***** London *****

It was almost time for the party to start. The Divos had gathered in the hall and were just waiting for the event manager to pick them up. After waiting for about five minutes, the event manager arrived and she escorted them to the tent. She told them to wait outside until the host had given a short speech. The Divos agreed and the event manager went into the tent to inform the host that the Divos were ready.

The Divos could hear the host tell his daughter that he was happy to have her back and that he had a surprise for her. He told her that he had managed to get four of the most handsome men to travel to London just to perform for her. Shortly after, the Divos were called on stage and they entered the tent to a standing ovation.

The host’s daughter had tears in her eyes when the Divos started singing and it was easy to see that she loved every moment of it. After singing a few songs, the Divos left the tent to get something to eat. After dinner, they would return to the tent to sing five more songs before heading to their rooms to get some rest before going back home the next day.

**** Paris ****

It was almost 7am when Sheena woke up. She wasn’t feeling well but due to her current condition, she didn’t think it was anything to worry about. She did feel some pain but she believed that it was just the twins playing again. Sheena got out of bed and put on a robe before she made her way downstairs to the kitchen. Camille was already busy making breakfast when Sheena walked in.

“Good morning,” Sheena said.

“Good....oh dear. Are you alright?” Camille asked.

“Not really. I woke up because I was in pain but I’m doing better now,” Sheena replied.

“I will call the doctor,” Camille said.

“I don’t need a doctor,” Sheena told her.

“Maybe not but I’m not taking any chances,” Camille picked up the phone.

Sheena watched as Camille called the doctor. Even though Sheena was convinced that it was nothing, she was happy that Camille decided to call the doctor. After a few minutes of talking to the doctor, Camille hung up and looked at Sheena.

“The doctor will be here shortly and you need some breakfast, young lady,” Camille said with a smile.

“Yes mother,” Sheena smiled back.

Camille joined Sheena at the table and the two ladies enjoyed their breakfast. Sheena didn’t eat much but at least she tried. They had just finished breakfast when the door bell rang.

“I’ll get that. You stay here,” Camille ordered.

“Yes mom,” Sheena said.

Camille left the kitchen and returned shortly after with the doctor. Sheena was surprised to see that it wasn’t her own doctor who walked into the kitchen but Dr. Delon explained that Sheena’s doctor was at a convention and therefore couldn’t be there.

“Where can we go?” Dr. Delon asked.

“Can we do it here?” Sheena looked at him.

“Of course,” Dr. Delon replied.

After doing a full examination of Sheena, he told her to get dressed and pack a bag with things she needed because she was going to the hospital.

“The hospital? Why?” Sheena asked.

“Those two in there.....they are ready to come out. It might not be right now but it will be today. I’m sure of that,” Dr. Delon pointed at Sheena’s belly.

“They are not due yet,” Sheena told him.

“They don’t know that. Trust me, Sheena. Your twins want to see the world,” Dr. Delon said.

“I will make sure that she will get to the hospital,” Camille said to him.

“Good. I will see you there,” Dr. Delon smiled at Sheena.

Camille escorted Dr. Delon to the door while Sheena stayed in the kitchen. Sheena was convinced that Dr. Delon was wrong. She had been through this before and she knew exactly what was going on with her body. Just as Sheena was about to walk out of the kitchen, she felt pain again. She wasn’t convinced that the twins wanted out but she decided to follow Dr. Delon’s advice and go to the hospital.

She left the kitchen and went into her studio to pick up the bag that she had packed some time ago. It had been Séb’s idea. He wanted to make sure that everything was ready for the arrival of the twins.

“We have to call Séb and we have to pick up Amanda,” Sheena told Camille.

“Séb is on the plane right now so I will contact him when we get to the hospital and we can pick up Amanda on the way. Let’s go,” Camille said.

Sheena and Camille left the mansion and got into the car. They drove off and within five minutes, they pulled up in front of the Bélanger estate where Amanda had been staying for the night. Camille got out of the car and walked to the front door of the mansion. She rang the door bell and the maid opened the door.

“Mrs. Izambard. Your granddaughter is playing in the garden,” the maid said.

“Could you please get her for me? Her brothers are ready to be born and we are on our way to the hospital,” Camille explained.

“Of course. This is wonderful news,” the maid smiled at Camille and disappeared.

She returned with Amanda and Camille explained what was happening as they walked to the car. Amanda was excited and she couldn’t wait to meet her brothers. She had been waiting for so long and now it was finally happening.

When they arrived at the hospital, Dr. Delon was waiting for them and he had prepared a room for Sheena. Camille had to wait outside with Amanda and Camille decided to call Séb, hoping that he had landed. There was no answer so she assumed that he was still on the plane. She left a message telling him to go straight to the hospital as soon as he landed because it was almost time for his sons to be born. After calling Séb, Amanda and Camille entered the hospital and were shown into the room where Sheena was.

“She is not giving birth now, is she? My son is on a plane and I really want him to be here and so does Sheena,” Camille looked at Dr. Delon.

“No, she isn’t but I hope Mr. Izambard will be here soon,” Dr. Delon said.

“So do I,” Sheena added.

Chapter 89

Séb was at the airport, waiting for his luggage. He had switched off his phone on the plane and he had forgotten to switch it back on. So he hadn’t checked his messages and it was impossible for Camille to get in contact with him.

After getting his luggage, Séb left the airport and hailed a cab to drive him to the mansion. Even though he hadn’t been gone for long, he had missed Sheena and Amanda and he couldn’t wait to see them again.

The cab pulled up in front of the mansion and Séb got out of the car. The driver grabbed his luggage from the trunk and after being paid, he drove off. Séb was happy to be home and he ran to the door, only to find it locked. He took out his key and unlocked the door. As he stepped into the hall, Divo came running towards him.

“Hello boy. It’s good to see you too. Where is mom and Amanda?” Séb scratched Divo behind the ear.

“Sheena? Amanda? Mom?” Séb called out, hoping for an answer.

Séb went into the kitchen, hoping to find a clue but he found nothing that would indicate the whereabouts of his family. By now Séb was getting a bit worried and he reached into his pocket and took out his phone.

“Darn it. I forgot to turn my phone on,” Séb said to himself.

When he turned on the phone, he found six missed calls and five messages from Camille. Then he knew what was going on. He called Camille and while being on the phone with her, he ran out of the house and into the garage to get his car. Only to find out that he had left the car keys in the house. Séb rushed back into the house, picked up his keys and left the mansion. Within seconds, Séb was on his way to the hospital.

“Where is Séb?” Sheena asked Camille.

“He is on his way,” Camille replied.

“It’s almost time for you to push,” Dr. Delon told Sheena.

“No way. Not until Séb gets here,” Sheena stubbornly said.

“You can’t wait for him,” Dr. Delon said.

“Oh yes I can. I want him to be here for the birth,” Sheena yelled at Dr. Delon.

Dr. Delon looked at Camille with a smile. It wasn’t the first time a patient had yelled at him while giving birth. Camille smiled back at him and they both agreed that it was better not to argue with Sheena right now.

“Did I miss anything?” Séb suddenly asked.

“Nothing except for a yelling mother to be,” Camille replied with a smile.

“I’m sorry for not being here earlier but I forgot to turn on my phone when I got off the plane,” Séb kissed Sheena.

“It’s ok. You’re here now,” Sheena said.

“This is my cue to leave the room. I will be back with Amanda,” Camille left the room.

“Can we continue now?” Dr. Delon looked at Sheena.

“Yes and I’m sorry for yelling at you but this is a very important moment to both of us. We,” Sheena stopped when a contraction hit.

“I understand. Now let’s get these two boys out. When the next contraction hits, I want you to push,” Dr. Delon said.

Sheena nodded in agreement. Séb held her hand when the contraction hit and he had no idea of the strength of a pregnant woman until that moment. He could feel Sheena’s nails digging into his skin and he did his best not to show his pain.

“I can see a head now. Just push as hard as you can,” Dr. Delon said.

Sheena did as he said and after a few more pushes, the first baby Izambard was born. He was placed in the arms of one of the nurses and while he was being cleaned up, it was time for the second baby to enter the world.

“You’re doing fine, baby,” Séb whispered to Sheena.

“He is right. You’re doing fine. I know that you’re tired but I need you to push as hard as you can when the next contraction hits,” Dr. Delon said.

Sheena pushed when the contraction hit and Dr. Delon told her that it would all be over soon. All she had to do was push a few times and then baby boy Izambard two would be born.

“And there he is,” Dr. Delon said.

“Are they alright?” Sheena asked.

“They are just fine,” Dr. Delon replied.

Séb walked over to the nurse and she placed baby boy one in his arms. After nine months of waiting, the Izambard twins were born and it was a big moment for Séb. The nurse took the other baby and placed him in Sheena’s arms. Séb placed the other baby in her arms too before he softly kissed her.

“Merci, chérie,” he whispered to her.

“You will be brought to a private room as soon as possible,” Dr. Delon explained.

“Thank you,” Sheena smiled at him.

Dr. Delon left the delivery room and soon after, Sheena was brought to a private room where Camille and Amanda were waiting for them.

“Where are the twins?” Amanda asked.

“They will be here shortly,” Sheena answered with a smile.

“Now I’m a big sister,” she proudly said.

“Yes, you are,” Séb picked her up.

The twins were brought into the room and Amanda was very curious to see her brothers. When she saw them, her face lit up and a big smile appeared on her face.

“Can I hold them?” she looked at Séb.

“Of course you can. Sit in that chair and we will bring you the twins,” Séb said.

Amanda sat down and made herself comfortable with some pillows and blankets and then Camille and Séb brought her the twins. It was easy to see that Amanda was proud when she held her brothers. She gently kissed their foreheads before she looked at her parents.

“I love them,” she said.

“I have to get a picture of that,” Camille took out her phone.

Séb also took out his phone and both he and Camille took pictures of Amanda with the twins. Camille then asked for a picture of the entire family. After taking the picture, she excused herself and left the room. Once she was out of sight, she sent the pictures to Millie and Gary.

Unknown to Sheena and Séb, Camille had texted Millie earlier to inform her that the twins were on their way. Millie had texted back that they would be on the first plane out of Los Angeles and she had asked Camille not to tell Sheena and Séb that they were coming.

Camille returned to the room and she told them that she would take Amanda down to the cafeteria to get something to drink. That would give Séb and Sheena some time alone and also give Sheena a chance to rest.

Amanda left with Camille and Séb went over to the crib to look at his sons. He couldn’t stop looking at them. They were so beautiful and he couldn’t believe that those two boys were his.

“Our family is complete,” Sheena said.

“Really? I could handle a few more of these,” Séb said.

“Maybe you could but I don’t think my body can. If you want more children then you have to find a new wife,” Sheena told him.

“I don’t want a new wife so I will settle with three children,” Séb walked over to her.

“I love you,” Sheena said.

“I love you too. You should get some rest. I will join mom and Amanda but we will be back soon,” Séb kissed her.

He left the room, leaving Sheena alone with the twins. Séb couldn’t wait to tell the others that he was now a father of three.

Camille and Amanda were in the cafeteria when Séb joined them. He took out his phone and sent the pictures of Amanda and the twins to the Divos.

“I have a confession to make,” Camille said to Séb.

“What have you done now?” Séb asked his mom.

“I’ve contacted Millie and Gary. They are on their way from Los Angeles to see the twins. I want it to be a surprise to Sheena so please don’t say anything to her,” Camille replied.

“I won’t say a word. Thanks. Sheena will be so surprised to see them,” Séb smiled at his mom.

“I just figured that you and Sheena would be too busy to contact them,” Camille said.

“We did have other things to worry about. I can’t believe that I’m now a father of three. It’s amazing how much my life has changed in such a short time,” Séb looked at Camille.

“I know,” Camille said.

“Can I ask you something?” Séb asked.

“Of course,” Camille replied.

“I know we’ve never talked about this before but how did you feel when I called off the engagement to Virginia?” Séb looked at her.

“I was the happiest mom in the universe. Truth is that I never liked Virginia. She was not your type and I never understood what you saw in her. Yes, she was beautiful but she was a bitch,” Camille honestly replied.

“I agree with you but she has changed. She was the one who helped us get Amanda back when she was kidnapped. Virginia is now happily married and has a child,” Séb said.

“Shouldn’t you tell your friends about the twins?” Camille changed the subject.

“Of course. Could you please send me pic of Amanda with her brothers?,” Séb asked her.

“Sure,” Camille sent the pic to Séb.

“Merci,” Séb said and wrote a text message to his friends.

“Don’t you think it’s time for you to get back to your wife and your sons?” Camille asked him.

“Yes, I believe it is,” Séb smiled at her.

“I will be back later with Gary and Millie,” Camille rose from the chair.

“Great. Thanks,” Séb kissed her cheek and left.

When he returned to the room, Sheena and the twins were sleeping. Séb sat down in a chair next to the bed and Amanda made herself comfortable on his lap. Shortly after, both Séb and Amanda fell asleep.

Chapter 90

Camille was at the airport, waiting for Millie and Gary to arrive. She wanted to drive them to the hospital right away so they could meet their grandsons. Millie and Gary would fly in on the private jet and Camille knew that they would be there soon. After waiting for ten minutes, Millie and Gary arrived and Camille greeted both of them.

“Thank you for the picture. They are so adorable,” Millie said.

“You’re welcome and yes, they are. Séb knows that you are coming but Sheena has no idea,” Camille explained.

“I can’t wait to surprise her,” Millie said.

“Let’s go then,” Camille smiled at them.

The three of them left the airport and soon after, they were on their way to see the twins.

“We’re almost there,” Camille announced.

“I know. This is so exciting,” Millie said.

“I can tell. You’re really looking forward to seeing the twins,” Gary took her hand.

“Not just the twins,” Millie said.

“I know,” Gary smiled at her.

“We’re here,” Millie stopped the car.

“This is it,” Gary said with a smile.

They got out of the car and walked to the hospital entrance. Camille showed them to Sheena’s room and they knocked on the door before entering.

“Grandma, grandpa,” Amanda said and ran over to them.

“Mom? Gary? What are you doing here?” Sheena asked.

“Camille contacted us about the twins and we decided to fly to Paris to see all of you,” Millie replied.

“I’m so glad that you’re here,” Sheena smiled.

“Hello, beautiful. You look stunning,” Gary kissed Sheena’s cheek.

“Thanks, Gary,” Sheena smiled at him.

They greeted Séb and Séb introduced them to his sons. It was easy to see that Séb was proud of his boys.

“They are beautiful,” Millie said.

“Yes, they are. We did a good job with those two too,” Séb winked at Sheena.

“Can we hold them?” Millie asked.

“Of course you can,” Séb said.

He placed one of the boys in Millie’s arms and the other boy in Gary’s arms. It was easy to see that both of them were proud to be grandparents of these two boys.

After spending half an hour at the hospital, Camille invited Gary and Millie to dinner. They accepted the offer because they thought that Sheena and Séb could use some time alone with their children.

“Want to see two handsome boys?” Carlos asked Rebecca.

“What are you talking about?” Rebecca looked at him.

“These two,” he showed her the pic.

“They are beautiful. Amanda looks so proud,” Rebecca said.

“She sure does,” Carlos agreed.

“Do you think that we could arrange a welcome home party for Sheena and the twins? We could call the others and ask them if they want to come,” Rebecca looked at him.

“You know as well as I do that they want to come but let’s call them right now. I’m sure that Séb has sent the picture to them too,” Carlos said.

He picked up his phone and called David. Maggie and David didn’t hesitate before saying yes. Carlos told them that he would call them back as soon as he had talked to Séb.

After hanging up the phone, he dialed Urs’ number and told Urs of his plans. Just like David and Maggie, Urs and Miki said yes right away. Carlos promised to call back and hung up.

“They said yes. Now we just have to talk to Séb,” Carlos said to Rebecca.

“That is great. Maybe Camille can help out too?” Rebecca suggested.

“Good idea. I will call Séb and you can call Camille,” Carlos looked at her.

“I will call her right now,” Rebecca dialed Camille’s number.

While Rebecca talked to Camille, Carlos was on the phone with Séb. He told Séb of their plans and Séb thought it was a great idea. Séb told Carlos that he would give Camille a key so she could let them into the mansion and he also told him that they would be home from the hospital two days later.

“What did she say?” Carlos asked Rebecca.

“Camille said yes and the best part is that Millie and Gary are in Paris too,” Rebecca answered with a smile.

“That is good. I will text Urs and David and then we can start planning,” Carlos said.

After sending a text to his Divo brothers, Carlos sat down next to Rebecca and they started planning the welcome home party.

“Do you need anything from the mansion?” Séb asked Sheena.

“More clothes would be nice,” Sheena replied.

“Good. I will get it for you then. Have to go back for my razor anyway,” Séb said.

“You don’t have to shave. I love the scruffy look on you,” Sheena told him.

“I know you do but I still want to shave. I’ll take Amanda with me. She needs to eat and so do I,” Séb said.

“That’s fine. I’ll see you later,” Sheena said.

“I love you,” Séb kissed her.

“Bye mommy,” Amanda hugged Sheena.

“Be good,” Sheena said.

“I’m always good, mommy,” Amanda said,

“I know you are, pumpkin. I was talking to your dad,” Sheena smiled.

Séb smiled at her before he left the room with Amanda.

Millie, Gary and Camille were at the restaurant when Camille got a text message from Séb. He wanted to see all of them at the mansion as soon as they had finished dinner because he had something important to talk to them about. Camille texted him back that they would be at the mansion in half an hour.

Séb had bought a pizza for him and Amanda and the two of them were having a nice father/daughter moment, eating pizza and watching TV. After eating pizza, Amanda fell asleep on the couch and Séb carried her upstairs. He tucked her in and kissed her goodnight before he went downstairs to clear the table.

After putting the dishes in the dishwasher, Séb made coffee and waited for Millie, Gary and Camille to arrive. He wanted to talk to them about the welcome home party for Sheena and the twins.

Fifteen minutes later, they arrived and Séb offered them coffee. They accepted and they all sat down in the kitchen. Séb told them about his conversation with Carlos and Camille told Séb about her conversation with Rebecca. Since Séb wanted to spent as much time as possible with Sheena and the children, he asked Millie, Gary and Camille to help the Divos with the party.

“Of course we want to help them,” Millie said.

“Good. I was thinking that all of you could stay here at the mansion. Amanda is in bed and I have to go back to the hospital tonight,” Séb said.

“Of course. We will be here when Amanda wakes up. Go back to your wife and sons,” Millie smiled at him.

“Thanks and thank you all for being here,” Séb smiled and left the table.

“We should probably come up with some ideas for the party,” Camille said.

“Yes. Let’s start planning,” Millie agreed.

Chapter 91

A week after giving birth, Sheena was ready to leave the hospital with the twins. She had no idea about the welcome home party and Séb couldn’t wait to see her face when she walked into mansion.

Millie had arranged for the private jet to pick up Jason and Victoria in USA because it just wouldn’t be right to leave him and Victoria there. They were part of the family too and they had to be there too to welcome home the twins.

For the last two days, the Divos, their wives, Millie, Gary and Camille had been busy with the party planning and now they just had to wait for Sheena to walk through the door with the twins and watch her face when she sees all of them there.

“I have to leave now. Is everything ready?” Séb asked.

“Yes, everything is ready. Just pick up your wife and your sons and we will be waiting for you when you get back,” Carlos replied.

“I will see you shortly,” Séb picked up his keys and left.

“Now, let’s finish with the details,” Rebecca said once Séb was gone.

They still had some last minute stuff to do but they couldn’t tell Séb because he would get nervous and that was the last thing they wanted. While the girls took care of the last minute stuff, Carlos and David were busy putting up the “Welcome Home” banner.

“A little more to the left,” Urs told them.

“And raise it on the right side,” Jason added.

“Is this better?” David asked.

“Perfect. Now add the balloons and it will be perfect,” Jason replied.

He and Urs handed baby blue balloons to Carlos and David and it didn’t take long before the banner was ready. Now they just had to wait for the Izambards to return.

At the hospital, Sheena was getting ready to leave the hospital. The twins were sleeping and it gave her time to pack her things. She had just zipped the bag when Séb entered the room. Sheena gestured to him that the twins were sleeping and Séb silently walked over to her.

Séb carried the twins and Sheena carried her bag. They said goodbye to the nurses and thanked them for being so nice and helpful during their stay. Soon after, they walked to the car and drove back to the mansion.

“Are you ok? You seem a bit nervous,” Sheena said to Séb.

“I’m fine. I’m just excited about bringing the boys home,” Séb told her.

“Me too. It will be a big change but we can do it,” Sheena smiled at him.

“Of course we can. Together we can do anything,” Séb said.

Back at the mansion, everyone had gathered in the living room and all they could do was wait for Séb to bring home his family. Ellie, Victoria and Liana were sleeping upstairs and Jason went upstairs to check on them before the Izambards would return.

“They’re here,” Urs announced.

“This is it. The moment is here,” Maggie said.

The door opened and they could hear Séb enter the hall, followed by Sheena. Amanda ran into the hall, followed by Divo and both of them greeted Sheena. Divo was interested in the twins and Séb allowed him to get close but not too close.

Divo ran back to the living room as Séb picked up one of the twins and placed him in Sheena’s arms. Then he picked up the other twin and told Sheena that their parents were waiting in the living room.

"Welcome home,” everyone shouted when Séb and Sheena walked through the door.

“What are you guys doing here?” Sheena asked through tears.

“Well, we wanted to welcome you home and here we are,” Rebecca hugged Sheena.

“This is the best surprise ever. Thank you so much for being here,” Sheena said.

“I believe it is time for a toast,” David said.

Everyone reached for a glass of champagne and then toasted for the twins. After the toast, everybody gathered around Séb, Sheena and the twins. They all wanted to hold the twins and Rebecca was the first to hold one of the twins. Séb picked up Amanda so she could look at her brothers too.

“They are just so adorable,” Miki said with a smile.

“Of course they are. Look at me,” Séb winked at her.

“I think it’s because of your wife,” Urs kissed Sheena’s cheek.

“Thank you,” Sheena smiled at Urs.

After everyone had been able to hold the twins, Séb and Sheena carried the twins upstairs to the nursery and placed them in their cribs.

Once the boys were tucked in, Séb and Sheena walked downstairs to their guests. The food was served in the garden and everyone was waiting for Sheena and Séb to return.

“The food looks delicious,” Sheena said.

“Thank you. We have been really busy all morning,” Camille replied, looking at the girls.

“I can imagine. I still can’t believe that you’re all here. Did you all travel here from USA?,” Sheena looked at her friends.

“We never left London. We wanted to do some sightseeing in London before returning to the States,” David replied.

“What about you? Were you with them in London?” Sheena looked at Jason.

“No. I flew in with Victoria on your private jet. Your mom made the arrangements. I hope that is ok,” Jason answered.

“Of course it is. I’m so glad you’re here. You’re part of the family too,” Sheena hugged him.

“Thanks, Sheena,” Jason said.

“Now, let’s eat and have a good time,” Séb said.

“I want to say something first. Séb and I want all of you to stay here tonight. We don’t get to spend a lot of time together due to being so far apart and I thought it would be nice to have you all stay with us,” Sheena looked at their friends.

“We can’t say no to an offer like that and I think we all agree on that,” Carlos looked at the others.

They all nodded in agreement and it was time for the party to continue. Everyone was having a good time at the party and Jason was a great help with all of the Divo children. He would go upstairs to check on them and if one of them was crying, he would take care of that too.

At one point, all of the children were awake and he needed assistance. Séb, David, Urs and Carlos all went upstairs to take care of their child. Jason helped Séb with the twins. He truly was a great babysitter and everyone felt like they owed him for taking care of the children but how could they repay him?

“I know this might sound crazy but we all know that Jason is great with the children. His wish is to join us on tour and I really think we should make his wish come true. Of course he can’t take care of them alone but he deserves to come with us,” Carlos told his friends.

“It doesn’t sound crazy and I think it’s a good idea. We just need to find one more person to travel with us. Any suggestions?” Urs asked.

“My neighbor’s daughter loves children and she has been babysitting since she was ten. She is eighteen and wants to take a sabbatical,” Camille said.

“Do you think she wants to join us?” David asked.

“I can call her and ask. Then maybe she can come by tomorrow so you can meet her?” Camille looked at them.

“That’s a good idea,” David looked at his friends.

“Does everyone agree?” Camille wanted to know.

Everyone nodded in agreement and Camille called her neighbor’s daughter. Celine, the neighbor’s daughter, didn’t hesitate and she told Camille that she would be there early the next morning to meet the Divos, their wives and of course the children.

“She will be here tomorrow,” Camille said.

“Perfect. Now, let’s enjoy the rest of the evening,” Sheena suggested.

Everyone agreed and the party lasted until midnight.

Liana’s christening in August 2008 was a big moment for Carlos and Rebecca. They had only invited their closest friends and family and it was perfect. Rebecca had designed the Christening gown for Liana and the cake was made by one of Rebecca’s customers.

A few months after Liana’s Christening, it was time for the Izambard twins to get their names. Christopher and Pierre Izambard were dressed in two cute suits with matching hats and baby shoes. Camille had made the cake.

After talking to Séb, Sheena had decided to leave the gallery in Paris to her employees. She was still the owner and all major decisions had to be made by her but on a daily basis, her employees were taking care of the gallery. Being a mother of three, she no longer felt like she could focus on the gallery and she wanted to be there for the children.

Rebecca was still designing clothes and her business was still blooming. She managed to take care of Liana and work at the same time but it wouldn’t have been possible without her employees. If Rebecca had a meeting, one of the girls would watch Liana while she was in a meeting. It was the perfect solution.

Miki was working from home. She had found a way to be a lawyer and a mom, and she was happy with the new arrangement. They had hired a babysitter to stay with Ellie if Miki had a meeting with a client and Urs wasn’t around.

Maggie was helping children who wanted to find their biological parents. Ever since Jason came into their lives, Maggie wanted to make a difference. Jason’s story about not knowing his father and getting kicked out by his mom at the age of fifteen had really made an impact on her. She had decided to help children like Jason.

After talking to the Divos, Celine had accepted to join Il Divo on tour and help Jason with the children. Celine and Jason hit it off right away and both of them were looking forward to the tour.

In November 2008, Il Divo had released their new album and went on a short promotion tour. The album became a huge success and the Divos could now focus on the upcoming tour which would take them all around the world. The Divos couldn’t wait to go on tour again and this time their wives and children would join them.

Looking back, the lives of the Divos and their wives had changed a lot in just a few years. And more changes would come but they all knew that whatever life would throw at them, good things or bad things, they would come out stronger on the other side because they had each other to lean on. A Divo family that would stick together no matter what.
